I thought it would be kinda weird having a graduate student professor but mr holt's clas was really good. The monday large class lecture was ok, but mr. holt is so fun and funny in class and makes you want to come and learn.

Mr. Holt is the best English 101 teacher!!! His class is so much fun and he jokes around with us. But when it's time to get down to business he is willing to help if you get stuck. Too bad he only teaches 101. I would def. take him for 102!!

Great Teacher! I learned a lot from him. He is really clear about the assignments and he may be a hard grader, but he helps you get the grade you want. Very helpful!

He's really clear on what he wants from you. There's a quiz on the reading just about everyday to make you come to class, but it's really worth it, because he's interesting and teaches really well. If you want to improve your writing, he's certainly worth your tuition.

Mr. Holt is a tough but excellent teacher. He helps the students to know the material, not just memorize useless facts. He not only creates an excellent learning environment, but also creates an enjoyable class atmosphere. Tests and quizzes are easy IF you pay attention in class.

Mr. Holt is a great teacher, and you will learn in his class. But his class is not an easy A. The papers were pretty easy as long as you are familiar with the rules of english,know MLA format, and do the work. Tests are easy if you study. Quizes on reading are hard. You will need to read the material more than once to do well on them.

Mr. Holt is a great teacher. I do not like literature at all, but I still enjoyed his class. It is not an easy A, but if you read all the assignments and pay attention in class, you should have no problem.

He really is an awesome teacher. I enjoy this class and it is possible to get an A you just need to work for it. He is so helpful just ask him if you don't get it. Very friendly then of cause there are a lot of homework :)

I definitely enjoyed this class. He is a great teacher and is willing to help. He wants his students to do well and is available to help. He responds back to emails in a timely manner and sends emails out after almost every class. It is possible to get an A in this class but you do have to try. He will push you to do your best. He made class fun.

Mr. Holt is an absolutely excellent model of a professor who genuinely cares about his students and their education. He knows his subject matter well, yet he is very down-to-earth and relates well to his students. He keeps in touch and is helpful when he is needed. I would recommend taking him if you can. You will work hard, but you will learn.

He was marvelous. He taught me so much about writing, that now I get much higher scores on essays and papers. Definitely a go to professor for first level English, even if you're just thrown into the class as a freshman (like I was), you WILL learn so much!

Mr. Holt is beyond stellar! I absolutely loved his class so much! He makes class so much fun. The book is entirely necessary, but he picks interesting reads. He is tough, but that's because he truly believes in you. He is a wonderful, caring teacher that will help you in every aspect and genuinely wants you to learn. If you can take his class, DO!

Mr. Holt is hands down the best of the best! He truly cares about every aspect of each student's life. There was never a boring class and always some hilarious conversations. If you have a chance to take him, I highly recommend you do.

Travis Holt is the perfect example of what every Professor should be. He is real with his students and makes class enjoyable to attend. He doesn't put up with any crap and encourages learning the material, not just memorizing. This was one of my hardest classes, but yet the class in which I learned and retained the most.

Professor Holt is definitely one of the BEST professors I have ever had. He gives students a good amount of work, but it's manageable and so worth the effort. He made the works and authors very relatable to students, was hilarious, took time to get to know each student, and places a huge priority on prayer. HIGHLY recommended professor!!!

He is a really funny guy, with a really fun class. I would recommend you take him! Beware, he grades rather harshly, but makes the class worthwhile. He really cares about his students and knows each student by name in a class of 100! He will find people to pick on, and it is really funny. Just don't act up the 1st day of class

Professor Holt is an awesome prof who really gets to know his students, even in a classroom of 100 people. I would definitely recommend studying hard for his tests though! they're not too difficult if you put in the effort and focus on the quotes! You need the book! We use it every day in and out of class!

Absolutely love Professor Holt! He is so funny and makes getting up for class totally worth it. He loves to joke around which makes class time so much fun, and never makes you feel stupid if you don't know exactly what something is or means. Super approachable and so nice.

LOVE. HIM. He wants to make an A attainable for you. He will sit with you and talk. He is open to class discussion and invites challenging views and opinions. He likes it when you speak up in class. Go to class. That's where most of the tests come from. It's not a hard class, but you really have to try and have to work for it.

One of the best professors I have ever had. I am not an english major at all and I truly loved this class. Professor Holt truly cares about each indiviudal student. He is fair in his grading and understanding. The class can be difficult at times but Professor Holt will always work with you and it is extremley possible to get an A.

English was never my favorite class at all, with all the different types of English professor with their own little style of doing things, I was not looking forward to a harder level of English. I LOVED IT THOUGH, hes very informative and gives you hints or low key tells you whats going to be on the test. He gives lectures that indicates answers.

I took him for American Literature. He is the best English professor ever. His lectures basically hands out answers to the test, and it's fun to listen to him talk. He is pretty much a young stud, well he's married and has kids but he's able to relate to you if your having a hard time, he'll cut some slack or help out.

Take this class with Professor Holt, you will not regret it. he is by far the best english prof I have ever had. He wants you to do good in his class, learn a lot, and laugh during it. He cares about his students and helped everyone when needed.

I enjoyed having Professor Holt for inquiry (which he doesn't normally teach). The assignments weren't to bad and he helped us on them and had the class help too. He was available outside of class and cares about his students.

Highly entertaining class. One of the funniest teachers I've ever had just because he has great off-the-cuff comments. He is very knowledgeable, and personally made my interest in the subject (as an engineering major) increase a lot as a result. I wish he did more with the textbook reading, I'm a month in and still haven't opened it up yet lol.

He was the professor for the big lecture. He was really nice and he took the time to try and get to know everyone (there were a lot of people in that lecture). He was pretty funny. He would call on people in class, so make sure you pay attention.

Professor Holt is by far one of my favorite teachers ever! Hes clear in his presentations and makes even the boring lectures entertaining. Hes also very funny and always has a smile. His assignments are also pretty straightforward, and he is willing to help his students peer review their papers. Definitely gonna miss having him as a professor!

Really funny teacher I loved his class so much really caring and understanding I was failing and I went to him and talked to him about why and he set me up with a plan to get back on track he gives you extra credit for participation lots of papers he makes the e lectures fun and just wait till you meet jimmy lol good class overall

Literally brought a bowling ball to class for an example in his lecture, we had breakout sections and my teacher was also really cool and relaxed.

Dr. Holt is a great professor. He goes through the lecture thoroughly to make sure you understand the information. Make sure to take notes because the quizzes ask questions related to his lectures.

Professor Holt is great. His lectures were so funny, and I loved his class. Defiantly recommend. He truly cares for his students and connects with them well of how large the class is. My GSA was Linsey Longhorn, and she was funny and friendly but also majorly unhinged.

Professor Holt and my breakout room teacher were amazing! I found this class super easy in general. If you do the readings, try your best, and submit assignments on time, then there shouldn't be too much of a challenge in this class. There are always opportunities for extra credit in this class!

Best class I've ever taken. Everything from the lectures to my TA was amazing (Ms. Wright). Learn from my mistakes and just don't turn anything in late, you'll get an A.

Best English prof, hands down. Dr. Holt is SO funny, his dry sense of humor cracks me up 24/7. I have to say, his lectures weren't super necessary to succeeding in the course, but since attendance is mandatory, I went to class and had a good time. Lectures reiterate textbook content but serve as a good refresher or explanation. Fun, easy class.

This professor was the best English professor I have ever had. He actually cares about how you're doing and will be gracious with extensions or needing help. Makes you laugh everyday, at first assigned seating might throw you off, but it is absolutely hilarious af how he teaches the course. You'll learn to write papers & use your brain properly lol

A fantastic professor that was fun and cared about every student. Did what he could to make sure everyone passed and had plenty of extra credit that saved my butt. ENGL 101 was a course I was dreading taking, but I couldn't have had a better professor.

Professor Holt was a very good teacher and is very good at explaining things. However, my TA seemed very unorganized and did not seem very knowledgable

I took him this semester thinking he would be a strict professor, but in every class, he would walk around the room and talk with students asking them how they are or their degrees. My GSA was also amazing, she went more in-depth than what Holt was talking about. I wish he taught other classes other than English because it was very enjoyable.

Great Professor! Very engaging and gives clear instructions. Gives up to 40 points of extra credit points. You will get an A if you do your best and submit everything on time. Pay attention and write notes because he emphasizes the important points that will be on the quizzes.

So awesome! Dr. Holt was so engaging and funny while simultaneously being serious when warranted. You can tell he really wants his students to succeed and you can really see it through the way he interacts with his students. I wish I could take him for my other classes!

The class is easy if you do the work. At the end of the semester, Professor Holt gives extra credit based on your participation in class. He does a lot of online questions where students can submit answers through their devices, and if you answer all of them you can get 25 points of credit. He won't tell you this beforehand, so don't forget!

His big lectures can be boring but they help overall. Expect 3 papers then a project. The textbook is needed for tests.

Prof Holt was an amazing professor. His teaching style is light hearted and makes sense and the papers are not hard. He holds many mini questions during class to get extra credit. He really cares about his students and takes time every morning to hear student pray requests and prays for them. Super funny guy and such a cool professor.

Travis Holt was an amazing English professor especially for freshman and sophomore's who are new and taking college level English for the first time! I appreciated his deep concern for his students and his GSA's were just as kind as he was! By the end of the semester the class felt like family and I made a lot of new friends through this class.

I LOVED Dr. Holt's class! Though I already knew a lot of English content before his class, the lectures were eye-opening and taught me more about the rhetorical/argumentative side of writing. Holt loves each of his students (though he has thousands!) and takes specific prayer requests before every class. I couldn't give him a higher rating!!!

Professor Holt is a wonderful professor who cares about his students, is incredibly funny, and puts a lot of effort into his lectures. I really appreciated the way that he utilized TopHat for more than just attendance purposes, and how he prayed before every class.

Amazing professor with really engaging lectures even at 8am. Whenever I had complication with grade he always responded in timely manner, offering to meet in person and discuss and actual gave explanations. He was very kind and caring, giving students lots of grace so they can learn, and he trains his GSA's to do the same.

Professor Holt is an amazing professor. He always makes sure his instructions are clear and he tries to get your class engaged in the material. He sometimes brings activities for the class and makes the lecture time fly by.

He's a chill guy, stay on top of your work, don't use Grammarly though it will flag it for AI but he understood plus he will tell you not to. Great professor, you can tell he has a passion for teaching.

He's hilarious, and his lectures are amazing. We do quite a bit of reading and write papers often, but nothing too bad overall. I would 100% retake his class.

Dr. Holt makes sure to include everyone no matter how small, makes sure all questions are answered prior to an assignment (esp. projects), he is hilarious in his lectures, and is inspiring to do well in everything and overall is very supportive of his students! Dr. Holt is an excellent professor, and it's evident that he cares about his students. However, he only teaches the Monday lecture, so a big component of this class depends on your GSA. Dr. Holt is caring and intentional in getting to know students. He made the lectures interesting and interactive, and offered different extra credit opportunities.
