Mr. Koll is an amazing teacher. He develops such interacting classes that you will make many friends in his class. He is very helpful, and genuinely interested in everyone's education. There are four essays, weekly reading quizzes and few in class writings. I highly recommend him!!!

Mr. Koll is an ok teacher essays are long and sometimes gives extensions. Attendance is mandatory. Four essays, and 10 quizzes. Very helpful and understanding his classes can be drag most days.

Professor Koll is a great professor he constantly keeps the class interacted. Very well mannered and well spoken guy. The class is never boring. it is a hard class to take thought. 1 three page essay. 1 six page essay. 1 ten page essay and an in class essay as the final 2-3 pages. Weekly reading test.

He made the classes interesting. Very few notes and most of his lectures were interactive. Debates were fun. Essays were long but you were given an appropriate amount of time. Don't procrastinate the essays!! You'll be in trouble if you do. Overall really enjoyed this professor.

This teacher is great he was new when I took him this semester so I really lucked out in getting him. Proff Koll explains things in fun lectures and each day you do group activities that help you with your writing skills. There is a lot of writing in his class but hey its 102 :) Anyone that struggles with eng needs this teacher.

This is the easiest English class I have ever taken. While professor koll does give long papers the instructions are very clear and he lets you choose what you wish to write about so meeting the guidelines in easy, and another plus is the textbook was only $20!!

I came in hating English class and wasn't really good at it but when I finished I LOVE English class. His lectures are interesting and the class was very involved. Professor Koll is one of the best teachers I have had during my college career. He engages all of his students and teaches them how to discuss instead of argue. As long as you have an opinion and share that opinion you are never wrong. He is ALWAYS there for you no matter what you need help with, even if it is just someone to listen. A+++ teacher!!

A lot of writing involved: short paragraphs in class, short weekly reading responses (assignments), 3 online essays and 1 in class essay, with interesting topics. He gave great feedback in these essays, which really helped me become a better writer! There were also group discussions & I also loved the way he accepted everyone's opinions in class.

Travis Koll is an amazing professor, he truly cares to make sure students understand by doing lots of break out sessions to discussion the readings. The only assignments are few essays only the last one is tough because it is 12 pages, but Koll will help guide you and make it easy, plus gives lots of time before it's due.

There is a lot of reading going on, and plenty of making sense of what you're reading. He wants students' honest opinion on what stories are telling. Professor Koll has become one of my favorites at CSN. He teaches his students to be better writers. I considered myself a good writer and a good English student, but I definitely improved in Professor Koll's class. He truly cares about all the students in his classes. I will be taking him again Fall 2016 for Literature.

I took this class online. The "hardest" part was writing the essays. There's an easy quiz every week, 10 questions. Read the module lectures and the assigned chapter in the book. Took this class for a 4 week summer session. It was extremely manageable. 4 small quizzes a week,2 small writing assignment a week, 3 major papers. He gives you a lot of feedback. I would say he is kind of a tough grader on papers, but he provides a rubric for each one so you can know exactly whats being looked at. Do not procrastinate on papers!

So you have a quiz which is open note every week along with a discussion post. Literally such an easy class. We had four essays over the course of the semester, fun topics so it made it easier. As long as you try to improve your writing on the essays and you read the online lectures you will pass.

Professor Koll is an absolutely amazing instructor. Yes, you will have to do a lot of writing (it's an English class after all), but it's completely doable if you plan accordingly. The first two research papers are 3-4 pages long and the third is 6-8 pages. You have about 3-4 weeks to do each, so you have plenty of time if you don't procrastinate.

Took English 101 online with Professor Koll. Class was really easy. A discussion and quiz each week with four essays. We had one essay a month which made the class a lot easier. I've never been good in writing, but Mr. Koll gave clear instructions and tons of resources. I did 3 major papers and received good grades and great feedback on all of them! This class took a lot of my time away though, so be prepared to sit and write. His book and online powerpoints were great! He is always available to students as well

I don't recommend his online class if you have bad study skills (procrastination until the last second). Great feedback on papers. Homework is pretty easy, a quiz, discussion, and reply by Sunday night. Three major papers with around 3-4 weeks to start it. 3-4 pages for the first and second, 5-6 for the last. Early on you choose a social issue you're interested in to write 3 papers on. 1 cause/effect, 2 analysis, 3 argument/solution. By 3 it won't be so daunting since you've already spent a whole semester researching 1 and 2. Grading is stricter as you go on but that's expected. Class instructions are also geared to help you write successful essays. <3

Professor Koll was really great + understanding especially during COVID! Every week, we had to read from the textbook and write about 3/4 page response about it. He gives good feedback about your writing! We had discussions every class, so be prepared to talk about the readings.

I took this as a summer online 4 week course and while it was a lot of work it was well worth it. 20-ish (eassssy) quizzes, 10 assignments that do not take too long and 3 major essays. I hope to take from Professor Koll again.

I enjoyed taking this course. Professor Koll laid everything out in the beginning of class via the syllabus, and it made it easier to kick out this 8 week course. It can feel accelerated at times, but the deadlines were more than reasonable and he is always available for assistance.

I took ENG101 over a four-week period during the summer. His setup on Canvas was very organized. There were 4 quizzes, 2-3 Skills Assignments, and a paper due every week. There was no final exam. I once started a paper the day it was due but I still got an A. If a 15-year-old did it, you can too!

Easiest English class I've ever taken. 3 papers 4-5 pages, 4 quizzes each week (10pt multiple choice & open note), 3 writing assignments a week (150-250 words). Offers extra credit through tutoring you but if you try you won't need it.

Was an amazing teacher, I'm just a terrible student :,) Gives very in depth, helpful critique and advice. Every week is a discussion + quiz on the notes. Every 3 weeks is a short writing assignment that correlates/is supposed to help with the essay due the week after (1 week late = -25 pts). All very reasonable, he's a really forgiving grader.

Phenomenal Professor. This class manages to teach you an abundance of information while simultaneously remaining quite easy. It becomes obvious very soon that Professor Koll genuinely wants his students to learn and is very helpful along that journey. My only gripe is that it does not seem that he teaches ENG102.

Textbook is free online. Each week there is a quiz and discussion, there are 4 essays and 4 assignments about the essays. Easy class only difficult thing for me was the essays but they weren't too bad, and you can send them in for free via brainfuse and receive 10 free points up to three times.

I've taken Professor Koll for English 101 and 223. I took a different professor for 102 and heavily regretted it. He is one of the best professors I've ever had. Professor Koll is awesome! There are four big essays and around 10 short skill assignments. As long as you take the notes and find a writing style that fits you and follows the criteria, it is straightforward to have and maintain an A. There are a few chapters of a book that you have to read, but they are short, and he gives them to you.

I took his regular 16 week course and it was very easy. Each week we had a 10 question quiz and 1 discussion post plus 1 reply to another person . We had 4 essays total, with each one being smaller and smaller. 4 major assignments total as well. He is a very understanding professor if you need to email or ask any questions and grades nicely.
