Good professor, actually liked being in the class.

At first I really didn't like her, BUT BY THE END OF THE SEMESTER I REALIZED SHE CAN BE NICE!!! BLY 101 L was really hard for me, BUT SHE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING WE NEEDED TO KNOW FOR OUR QUIZZES/PRACTICUMS!!! STUDY THE INFORMATION SHE GIVES YOU, AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE!!!

She went really quickly through the material, but she was willing to meet with students and help them with the material. If you show up for class then you will do well, and there are chances to earn extra credit.

She adds 3 points on your final average if you bring your clicker on days she uses them. Gives soo much extra credit, and has review sessions for exams. Made Bio easy for me and got an A.

i thought this class was super easy, just go to class, print chapter summaries, bring clicker, study for 10 minutes before tests and youll make an A, unless your a total bo-zo.

had her for lab...it was really easy and she is willing to help but she's not the best at explaining things. But she's not rude and she TRIES, I think she knows she's not that good at explaining so she tries her best to help students and the tests were EASY (though there were a few that were ridiculous, but she cut some us some slack after that)

I had her for lab and she was great. She pretty much tells you exactly what to study and what will be on the quizzes and practicals. Lets you drop 2 quizzes and 2 practicals. If you have half a brain and actually show up you should make an A in this lab no problem.

SHE IS REALLY SWEET. PPL TRIED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HOW SWEET SHE IS. SHE GIVES US A CHANCE TO BRING UP OUR GRADES BY GIVING UP EXTRA CREDIT. HER OFFICE HOURS ARE NOT CLEAR BUT IF YOU MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO GET A HOLD OF HER SHE WILL MAKE TIME. TAKE HER! SHE'S AWESOME!

She is AWESOME. I loved this class. She breaks it all down to the bare bones biology concepts and explains it really well. She gives extra credit and she will help you if you have questions. I didn't like it at first and did poorly on first EXAM but then she brings it all together and it makes sense. I am taking her for Microbiology, too.

She reads from the slides. Tests are difficult. Read the chapters that is where most of the questions come from (not really the slides or reviews). I think she was intimidated by a big class. Her Lab is really good. She teaches in depth and is really easy to understand.

I like Mrs. Hamil. She explains the concepts well. You have to go to class to see her explain the slides. She gives an outline for each chapter, but you really need to go to class. I met with her in office hours, and she seemed to really care if I did well. I like Biology a lot more (i'm taking 102). She is really nice, too.

Very sweet lady. Class can kind of get boring, but I learned A TON!!!! I'm taking Microbiology now and I feel really prepared after taking her. She puts powerpoints online and gives reviews for every test. Fill out the reviews, study well, and you'll do fine. If it's not on the review, it won't be on the test. I would definely recommend her! :)

Some comments say that Mrs. Hamil is boring and reads from the slides. Her slides have mostly figures which she explains really well. I was never bored. She also tells you what is going to be on the exam and what material to focus on. She uses clickers and does lots of example problems which show up on the exam. Just go to class and you will learn

Just to set the record straight, Mrs. Hamil is a nice professor; she is very knowledgeable on the material and lenient on the course load and due dates. She is very helpful if you have an issue w/ getting a txtbook for the course/printing the notes out. She gives out study guides, txtbook notes, slides. Just bear w/ her in class, its not so boring!

The lab is easy and Mrs. Hamil doesn't grade hard.The lab is online and I must admit at first I missed been in a real lab setting but the Virtual Lab was very convenient. The Microbiolgy class and the lab were very interesting. BLY 213 and BLY 214 is only offered in the summer though I wished it was offered all yr round. So take advance of that! :)

I absolutely love her! She's super friendly and all you have to do to make an A in her class are the study guides & power points, I promise!! I only used the book on the first exam. She really does care about everyone passing & understanding the material. Take her if you get the chance!!!

Great professor! Teaches clearly, from powerpoints she makes available. Showing up is advisable, as she covers a good amount of material each class. Gives some extra credit too. She does frequent clicker sessions, and those questions tend to appear on her exams. Show up, take notes, and pay attention, she is not hard to get an A from.

I had Mrs Hamil for BLY101 and BLY102L. She is fantastic, very clear and helpful. Show up for class! Quizzes every class for lab, and what you learn today will be on the quiz next week. She has powerpoints available, bring them to class, as she teaches straight from them. Easy to get a good grade, if you show up, pay attention, and take notes.

Her class is pretty boring, but it is worth going for the clicker sessions. You get 3 points added to your final AVERAGE if you were there for most of them and those questions are always on the tests. I didnt learn anything from her in class. I read the material myself and sent emails when I was confused, she got me through it with an A.

Mrs Hamilton is a great teacher! You only have 5 quiz and 3 test the whole semester. She drops your lowest 2 quiz grades! All of the answers are on the powerpoints or you can look on google! She gives you detailed study guides for the test! & adds an additional 3 points to ur final average! Really easy!

I absolutely love this professor! Class is somewhat boring, but GO TO CLASS. Bonus points on your exams are given out all the time when there are not a lot of people there. She basically gives you the test with her review guides. If you look at her presentations, listen half the time, and do the review its an easy 100.

Easy class as long as you study for tests. Gives study guide for each test. Quizzes are also relatively easy. Go to class, because it makes it easier to study for the tests and she gives a ton of bonus points. Would recommend.

Hamil is a great teacher! The course itself is very fast paced, so be ready to move along quickly. Attend class because the answers for exams quizzes come straight from lecture. Don't waste your money on a book, I never used it. If you ever have problems understanding the concepts use education portal online (google it). I finished with a 100

I LOVED Ms. Hamil!! Go to class to do the clicker questions, you will get up to 3 points added to your final grade. She puts all the powerpoints online but I liked having the book for an extra reference. Pay attention during the lectures and it's less studying you have to do. Ms. Hamil is very nice and will personally help you. Take this class!!

She is monotone when giving lecture, but she did add a few funny videos throughout the semester to grab attention. Overall I would recommend her because she takes the time put all her slide shows online and she gives a study guide for every test including the final exam. She also gave bonus points for clicker questions and a bonus quiz.

I had her for lab and she was a great teacher! She explained every lab thoroughly. You have a quiz every lab from the previous lab, but she drops the lowest 2. You do not have to buy the textbook lab manual. I never opened it and got an A.

Ms. Hamil is very sweet. My lab class had a bunch of immature, loud students who talked during the lecture. They sort of ran over her, a lot. If you missed anything during the lecture, talk to her. She cares about students and wants them to do well. Study the material and always print labs from resources.

I loved taking Hamil's class. She is very nice and helpful! If you show up you will pass. Answering clicker questions (even if you answer incorrectly) will get you 3 points added to your final grade. If you show up to her lectures and study the study guides you will do fine!

make sure to take great notes. Her test comes from her power points. always go to class because she gives extra credit points that go on your overall average.

Had her summer 2015 and her class was a breeze. She did however practically read off the power points but attendance was mandatory for her. She was very sweet. Definitely would take for another class.

Professor Hamil's bio101 class was easy! Just make sure you go to lecture even though it can be long and boring. Take notes and make flashcards before the tests. If you do not try to memorize the material on the powerpoints then you wont make an A in this class. Its not super strenuous, but you will need to study a little and memorize vocab.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! Dr. Hamil is super sweet and easy. I passed with an easy A. She is really bad about entering grades though. Overall, good professor!

Professor Hamil isn't too tough, she gives study guides for the test. You DON'T need the book but do need the access code.

Professor Hamil truly cares for her students, and is usually willing to help when needed. She gives extra credit points at the end of the semester depending on your participation with the clickers. You really don't have to listen to her lectures to pass the test, just complete the study guides with the powerpoints and you will be fine.

Loved her class! Super easy, doesn't require attendance, and she's funny. Fair grader and her tests were easy! I totally recommend her.

I had Hamil for Biology 101 and 102 and finished with a 95 and 96 in both. Her study guides are exactly like the test. I never went to class except to take the test an never made a B on one. For the study guides you can find all of the answers on her powerpoints that you can access from home. All you need is the access code for mindtap, not book.

I took Hamil for 103 and 213. I LOVE HER. She gives extra credit for participating in clicker questions during lecture that's added to your FINAL GRADE. Study guides are exactly like the test so if you do that you'll be fine. You don't really use your book much except for hw but you can easily google everything. She's awesome. Stress free classes.

She's a solid teacher. Puts lesson outlines and powerpoints on Sakai so if you skip class you really don't miss much. Cancels classes when you have quizzes, but only gives two actual tests. Extra credit for Clicker participation.

Professor Hamil is a super easy teacher and is very laid back! She gives study guides for all the quizzes in this class, which is very helpful. The labs aren't long at all and are very fun! I passed this class with a 100.63, so this class should be a easy A!

There's two tests and a final. She uploads a study guide before each exam and the clicker questions in class show up on the exam as well. She gives ample bonus points through attendance. I thought the class was interesting, she was helpful and caring, and I would recommend her to anyone.

Ridiculous easy A for minimal work do homework and take notes and you should be fine

She told us participation was extra credit. Just be there for class before the tests. I did attend regularly but it was nice knowing that if I needed to miss it really wasnt a big deal. Monotone at times but she really loves what she does.

She is a much better teacher for lab! You can drop 2 quiz grades at the end of the semester so if you make good you can opt out of the last 2 classes! Just take notes and study for the next weeks quiz and youll do fine!

Literally easiest class I've ever taken. No excuse not to make an A. Clicker questions for bonus. Test study guides that make the test incredibly easy. Homework is easy and quick. TAKE DR. HAMIL.

She is a good teacher and her lectures are not as boring as they could be. You have to do your homework to pass. It not hard h.w. but it can be a lot if you push it off. You need to study to pass her tests but they are not ridiculously hard. I would take her again.

Honestly the easiest scene class I've taken. Study the study guide and Kahoot questions the night before the exam and you should get a B on the exam. Homework and other assignments help keep your grade up!

Best teacher I had this semester. Lectures are boring but you only have to show up to the kahoot bonus and test days. Gives so many chances for extra credit. For test days you show up and take it on the computer then leave.

Easy class. Homework is easy, you can find most answers on quizlet. Attendance isnt required. Didnt go to class, just used study guides to study. Easy A

The beginning of the class is a little slow and boring, but the end chapters go over infectious disease and are much more interesting! There are strict deadlines for homework before/after each class, but they are not too challenging. Tests are multiple choice and easy. If you pay attention in class and look over the study guides, you'll do well.

She gives out 2 exams and a final which are composed of 50 questions. You can honestly just show up on Kahoot days and exam days. Straight forward class, study the quizzes and look over the study guide then you will do well. She does a 5-10 minute break during lecture which is pretty funny. Overall, easy class and easy A if you do the work.

Take, take, take! Hamil is really chill and sweet. Super easy class, just do the work and study for tests and you'll be fine. The only complaint I have is that her lectures get boring as she talks slow and quiet.

This the most organized class that I have taken at South. Nice and helpful teacher, emails back quickly. She is very clear about the due dates and sends reminders. I felt well prepared for the tests after lecture and homework, quizzes, and study guide. Really interesting and relevant. I actually use what I learned in class and remember it.

Micro lab is a little frustrating at first, but then it is easy and fast once you get the hang of it. You have to read the written instructions in the Module for hints and tips and watch videos that she makes. She will go over labs on Zoom to help you. She will help if you ask. She helped me on Zoom Just ask for help if you don't get it at 1st.

Hamil is a great choice for BLY 213. Her lectures may get boring because she is very monotone, but she gives extra credit for going to class sometimes. Exams had ?s from previous quizzes and kahoot review. Easy course to get an A if you attend class and half way try.

Lab can be frustrating until you get the hang of it, but Hamil makes it super easy. She provides videos on how to clearly do the lab, so you're pretty much guaranteed an A. You can take quizzes twice - once on Vumie and once on Canvas (do it on vumie first bc it will email you the right answers then transfer it to canvas).

Very easy class! The first few weeks she'll have video recordings showing exactly how to do things and the answers to a few quizzes. Quizzes are open note, internet, etc. As long as you read her PowerPoints and study on McGraw Hill, you really don't need to attend class. Lots of extra credit and accepts late work.

The online lab is so easy and straightforward. It's literally impossible not to make a 100 in this class as long as you do the work. She is super nice and always willing to help. She also offers lots of extra credit.
