This prof gives minimal feedback on assignments, takes a while to respond to your emails (if at all),the lectures consist of her reading off the power point slides, lots of group and in class work, I am going to avoid taking any classes of hers in the future.

This teacher is terrible. I still have no idea how she marks with out a detailed rubric. What exactly is her though process? No way to improve marks because she doesn't give feedback. Is difficult to speak to, picks favorites and attacks students unprofessionally if she doesn't agree with them. Her email responses are dry if she replies at all.

There's no clear grading criteria and barely any feedback. She's passionate about her work and disagreeing with her will not end well. There is no point in buying the textbook at all, so save your money. There's no test/exam, mostly group work and a paper. She will stop people mid presentation to critique them, which is horrible as most are anxious

Please don't take this class friends. Treisha does not teach, and mainly just talks about herself. We literally did not learn anything. It was a waste of my money, you're better off taking a crisis intervention course with a crisis centre. Also the prof was hurtful and very oppressive (yay ryerson social work, you're a contradiction!!!)

Unbelievably disorganized! Marks arbitrarily based on her mood. DOES NOT read the paper when marking. Instructions and expectations are not clear at all. Misleads students and sets them up to fail. Seems like she is not interested in students. only cares about her own reputation. if you take her class, prepare to fail due to her incompetence.

Ignores emails, provides zero feedback. Often unprepared for lectures. Frequently uses profanity during class. No guidance for homework or tests. Asked us to email her what grade we think we should receive with our photos attached because she can't remember anyone! Does not care about class or students. Grades randomly, without rhyme or reason.

Do not take this class if you actually care about your marks or what you are learning. We learned a lot of material, but it had nothing to do with Child Abuse and Neglect. She also has an attitude of "cool teacher, doesn't care", and she really doesn't. She told us that she marks our tests based on her mood at the time. 3 online exams.

I had her for child abuse and neglect, and to be honest i like her AS A PERSON. However as a professor, she tries to act cool, tries to be your friend, will curse during her lectures unnecessarily, barely gives any constructive feedback, and takes forever to return assignments, grades with bias, extremely unprofessional, rambles on too much, so bad

I highly suggest STAYING AWAY from this professor. She is bothered by emails, relies on one TA to mark 350 tests alone and has poorly worded questions on tests. I am a strong student, and so I took this course thinking it would be a GPA booster. HA. The TA marks ridiculously hard, gives you no feedback and will deny all opportunities for a remark.

This prof really has no idea how to teach. The course is graded out of 3 quizs and each quiz you won't be getting back until a couple days before the next one. In terms of difficulty the TAs mark hard and the questions she gives you on the quizs make no sense, have no relation to the course content and some even ask you for your opinion.

One of the worst classes I have ever taken. There are 3 online tests. The test questions are not at all related to the course material. It makes it impossible to receive a good grade. She will not answer emails and will refuse to meet you outside of class to discuss your mark. I have received good grades in all of my classes... except this one.

This was possibly one of the worst courses Ive taken thus far as a second year student. Treisha is knowledgable but has no idea how to teach. Her lectures have no relation to quiz material, which are marked ridiculously hard. Questions on quizzes are so grammatically wrong and poorly worded, it is hard to know what she is actually asking for.

This course has potential to be great but unfortunately was one of the worst experiences I've had at Ryerson. Terrible prof with terrible TA's. Quizzes were ridiculous and the answers are only correct if you base it around the prof's personal opinion, not around correct content and facts. TA's as well as Treisha herself refuse emails and regrades.

Treisha would probably be an interesting person to talk to if you arent in her class and she isnt your professor. Unfortunately as a professor she doesnt cut it. Claimed at beginning of semester to set her students up for success, and then refuses to communicate with them when over half the class is failing. I do not recommend this professor

This professor is definitely ridiculous. She pretended to be so generous at the beginning. and her TA marked the test so hard that half of the class are failing the course. I have tried to send an email with good manners to Treisha and her TA, and they just ignore me. It is so ironic that she is teaching the equity and not treating students fairly.

DO NOT TAKE this prof unless you want to get an F. She required you to buy the expensive textbook and it's not useful at all. The tests are subjective and her TA is so rude and marked hard. Does not reply to any email at all. The second test got problems on D2L and all the multiple-choice are missing and she blamed students for responsibility.

She is notorious for going on her own personal tangents during class, while convinced that she is doing us a favour but in reality it has nothing to do with the course. Her power points always have typos, without fail. It is very obvious her lectures are emotionally driven and not fact driven.

Worst class ever. Requested to have test weighted less as everyone failed, only to be ignored. Ridiculous as the professor had an uploading error causing all questions to be weighted higher than originally planned which completely ruined everyones mark. Wondering if going to the dean will help get the test weighted lower or have a bell curve?

Do not take this course. The content seemed interesting although the tests are ridiculously hard and unfairly marked. Marks are given based on subjectivity and the TA is not willing to discuss or change marks. The second test should be weighed much less due to the glitch on D2L!

Genuinely can't explain how upset this course has me. The second online test did not relate to course material, questions were weirdly worded, and overall was marked ridiculously hard. As someone who is planning on proceeding to law school I'm genuinely sad and concerned about how the test was graded and how it affects the students

The grading of the test was unbelievable; large amount of students are upset by the results. Lectures are funny, however, if the grading is going to be extremely strict then the way the prof does lectures needs to be hugely re-evaluated as lectures did not properly teach material. Tests do not relate to lecture mature, half class failed second test. Unbelievable how the unfairness of the second test is not being acknowledged as a huge impact on students GPA. Students are not upset to be petty or due to an ego, students are worried about how this test affects them and their schooling.

Can not stress how outrageous the professor and ta's marking was. This course taught none of what was on the tests. As well as the issue with the D2L glitch. I do agree that this should be brought up to the professor's superior for a bell curve or weight re-evaluation.

Lectures are boring since she just reads off slides. She has high expectations for such mediocre teaching. Doesn't respond to students' emails for days and is extremely disrespectful. No regard for students' concerns. If almost all of the class failed test 2, she should consider how she writes/formats tests, her teaching, & her TAs marking ability

If you care about your marks, I beg you not to take this course. Treisha is knowledgable but she is incredibly lazy and unprofessional as a professor. Lectures have no relation to the quizzes, and she refuses remarks and emails from students after half the class fails a test weighted 30%. I will never be taking another class with her.

NEVER take this course if you see the prof names TREISHA. She and her TA are ridiculously irresponsible. She claimed in lecture that there was a glitch on D2L so many questions were missing. Now she blamed students and says that it's not the problem of D2L but our own problem of misunderstanding the questions. Her words are not making sense at all.

This prof is so unrespectful to students and she blamed students for being unrespectful to her. I have sent her so many emails and she did not reply until the issue becomes serious. Living in her own world and think that the tests are fair to everyone. Her TA is even worse and said that she would only reply to emails with a good manner.

Useless lecture and textbook at all. She was so lazy to provide links for additional readings and students need to search for the readings on our own. The tests are not related to lectures and powerpoints. She claimed that it is okay to copy from the powerpoint in the first test and now she changed her words and says that copying will not get grade

DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE ! The prof and the TA expect us to be respectful but they don't even respect us. Blame on the students for misunderstanding the test questions while the test question are weirdly worded.

Please don't take her courses if you want to get a high GPA. The prof talks about common sense in lectures and gives you a hard test that has all the short answers. Each question worth a lot and requires you to write a short essay. In the end, you get a low mark that makes you fail the course without any explanation or reason. Unrespectful at all.

I feel that if I hadnt gone through previous courses that talked about the same subjects, I would have absolutely flunked this. Her classes are very emotionally driven and does not adhere to the course ppts. Only 3 tests with aproximately 10-15 long answer questions that are terribly subjective in terms of marking. Never take this course.

Students had asked for more than two hrs to write the online test which CANNOT be completed in two hrs. Syllabus states that the tests will be given a MIN of 1.5 hrs and a MAX of 3 hrs, HOWEVER, the instructor refuses to give class 3 hrs to write even though it says it on the syllabus... btw, those 2 hrs INCLUDE accessibility accommodations.

WORST prof ever. Rude and ridiculous. NEVER EVER reply email unless you cc the CYC program director. Three online tests only but tests are extremely hard which make half of the class failed on the second test. Zero feedback. Testbook is useless.

There's 3 big tests, each one marked by a diff TA, so the marking style is completely diff for all 3. Majority of class did well on 1st test, then failed 2nd one. Prof and TA were both super disrespectful on D2L, saying they won't take remark anyone's 2nd test (which isn't allowed lol). Also prof makes crazy spelling and grammatical errors on tests

The semester is almost over and she has posted a total of only TWO powerpoints. This is an online class so I would expect that theres some form of lecture available, but there isnt. You basically learn on your own from the assigned readings. The weekly discussions also have inconsistent submission time frames. Learned nothing.

I really enjoyed how this professor taught early in the course but, when classes switched to an online format, she posted one PowerPoint and essentially left the rest up to us! With the claims of being really accessible for students, I feel she makes it difficult to access the right information to pass the course. It's upsetting, honestly.

Unclear grading criteria. Gives out course material for an exam AFTER the exam starts. Hosts an exam review the day of the exam. Disrespectful and inconsiderate to online class. Hardly any activity from professor. Be prepared to teach yourself - and then get graded poorly for it!!!

i emailed asking for clarification about a take home exam question and she literally told me to read the textbook because i'd get the clarification from there when she wrote the exam in all its ambiguity. don't waste your time or GPA. the bad reviews are there for a reason

I have never done so bad in a class in university. I know the work I handed in was worthy of a way better grade, yet it was hard to get above a 70 in her class. On top of being a "though grader" she provides ZERO feedback. She gave instructions of an assignment 3 days before the due date and basically f'd my group over because of her incompetence.

Don't be fooled by how kind she seems on the first day. She did not teach at all, terrible issues with TAs of which she refused to resolve until students contacted administration, zero to no feedback on assignments. No exam thankfully, and assignments were marked quite easily.

She did not really care about this class. Several students complained to the Dean about her lack of engagement and content shared throughout the course. She forgot to post any content for almost a month and then expected us to create a voice recording about what we had learnt. Be prepared to learn from a textbook.

Very clearly did not care about our class, kept taking things out of the syllabus because she didnt want to do them. Did not make her own lectures, cancelled live lectures after a few weeks. Did not communicate with TAs resulting in lost marks and student/TA arguments. However, this class was super easy. No exam, no midterm.

Honestly this class was so easy but you wont learn anything from it. She had very few live lectures because she cancelled them, and when she did have them she wouldnt answer questions, would get angry and end them early. The TAs werent the greatest and lacked communication with the prof so there were a lot of issues. No guideline for assignments

The professor and TAs do not seem to care, they mark so hard and there is no proper feedback. If you care about your GPA, do NOT take this class! No clear instructions, the course is all over the place. This is the worst course I have taken at University so far.

rubric is hard to follow, loose ends between rubric, professor, and TA's. All TA's provide dif info ab course assignments. Lectures never based on the powerpoint but all course assignments are based on pps???? Prof goes off topic, gets angry at emails, even said "this course is not child and youth care focussed"??? Prepare to guide yourself! :/

There's a reason why everyone's giving negative reviews while getting As in her courses. Never replies to emails and she gets annoyed if you email, very vague assignments and course content, doesn't give instructions for assignments (only rubrics), TAs are clueless, and the prof has put no work or effort in the course. Think twice before taking it.

Horrible prof. Thought at the least it'd be an easy course, but her grading guidelines are so obscure, didn't want to provide feedback or grade breakdown. Her classes are 90% woke material, learned a lot about things that WEREN'T child and youth care, and she was able to do it because we had no textbook to keep us on relevant information. Stay away

No communication between TA' s and prof.TA's & prof say different things. no rubric, no grade breakdown, and vague assignment guidelines which she changes as she pleases.(in live lecture, the day an assignment is due). no feedback either on anything except copied & pasted generic feedback. ppt and lectures don't match. Don't do it. Don't be me. I read all these reviews and I still didn't think it would be that bad... it was. No feedback on your work. Her grading criteria could not be more confusing. On top of that I learned nothing in this course. She gets upset at you if you ask her to post a reading you're being graded on, saying she did, even if she didn't...

She rants about god knows what instead of actually having a structured class and she thinks that everything is an attack on her. My class was asking for grades and papers back that took forever and she got upset because people were being "hostile." I understand having a relaxed class, but not this relaxed where nothing happens.

She makes you feel uncomfortable because she says not to email her and she hates it even though it's her job. TA's did a poor job. No grading criteria were given and they give the same exact feedback (copy and pasted) to everyone because again they don't want to do their job properly. Very unprofessional overall.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS- did not teach course material that was tested. didnt even use her own slides. was extremely rude in emails, and wouldn't respond. everything was based off the long readings and half were not accessible. grading varied and even TAs were confused at what assignments were and the instructions were for it. no structure at all

Not a good prod. Does not reply to emails everrrr. Clear miscommunication with the TAs as they would all give us different instructions for assignment. Claimed that emails we sent to TAs were attacking them? Final exam was a group test which was weird. Do not take her if u have another option.
