Honestly, this prof is dope. Took him on a Monday night class 7-9:45 but he usually ends around 8:45-9. Just a few easy papers scattered through out the semester and midterm and final. He usual has guest speakers or speaks about his experience in LAPD. TAKE HIS CLASS

Ok so for a Sat morning class, he would literally bring donuts; besides that he keeps it VERY REAL. He only has you read what will be on the test so you don't have to remember useless stuff. Small books easy to read. Tells you what parts of the books to know. DONT miss when he shows videos, they are important for tests. AMAZING PROFESSOR!!

I loved his class and I wish he could teach more. He's 100% real and won't keep the truth from you. He brings expensive snacks and plushies for the class. You can also access him outside of class. Read the chapter assignments cause the quizzes are extra credit. You'll do: 2 easy papers, 2 exams, E.C quizzes, 1-2 optional fieldtrips.

He's a good professor. I highly recommand taking him. This is my first class taken at CSUN on-line with the pandemic and he was really understanding. Just complete the work and you should be good. If he doesn't respond to e-mails, texted him he's really good at getting back to him. MUST TAKE PROFESSOR! EASY "A".

I took CJS 360 during times of Covid-19 so everything we did was over zoom. We only met once a week and would have enriching conversations and Professor Stokes was always willing to answer any questions you might have. He is very easygoing and understands the possible stress we might be dealing with from other classes and just everyday life.

With his class being online this semester, the assignments are turned in to him via email. All assignments are on the syllabus. He is funny and caring. Would definitely take his class again.

One of the chillest professors I've ever had. A couple small assignments, two 3pg essays on documentaries, and 5pg final on your career choice. Super easy going about due dates and extremely caring. You definitely won't regret taking him.

Truly one of best prof I had. He really does care about his job. He is a very experience man having a lot of policing experience. He is there to motivate and inspire his students. Use his past experience and dropping it off to the newer generation. His mid term and final exam he gives the answers in the book but in the test his loves to add spice.

Amazing professor, would 100% take again!!!! The coursework isn't stressful as long as you have the book because it what the exams are based on. We were assigned little chapter questions, 1 term paper (super easy), and 2 exams. He really cares about his students and his lectures are never boring.

Exams aren't hard because he literally gives you the answers, you just have to study and PAY ATTENTION. The work isn't hard at all and it's impossible to fail. If I could have him for every class I would. Our class went to Six Flags and we even got to go on Jail tours. The class itself is an eye opener if you wasnt a career in law enforcenment.

I would recommend taking CJS 101 because the professor builds strong bonds with students, genuinely cares about their success, offers support when needed, and makes assignments interesting as long as you study for the midterm and final, you can do very good in the class. (I suggest you take advantage of field trips such as prison tours, etc).

I have taken two CJS courses with this professor and earned high grades in both. He has law enforcement experience and shares real life examples that can be scary but realistic. It exposes students to what the career is actually like and helps them decide if it is the right path. Assignments/Tests are easy but STUDY, he likes to trick you.

Prof Stokes class is really easy the book we would go over in class gives us what we NEED to know as the highlighted stuff will literally be on the short quizzes and the final is easy as well as long as you study early and make a quiz let with study groups which both helped me a lot. He is also very motivating and is very understanding!
