Very passionate teacher. He is kinda hard, and his tests are no cakewalk, but he does everything imaginable to help you succeed. The most passionate teacher I have ever had. Girls say he is hot.

Unorganized. Gets off topic WAY too easy (but doesn't mean you don't have to know info for test!). Come time for the final and you only know two grades with two tests scores, a research paper and ppt presentation grades unknown! My final grade will be a COMPLETE surprise.

Easy A. Makes up his own test, some of it is fill in the blank. Easy on grading and will work with you to pass. Wont get grades back right away all the time. Gives bonus and extra credit.

Best prof EVER! He loves what he does and made our Biology for Non-Majors class soooo much fun. He is an awesome person and is more that willing to answer questions or help you in any way. He truly is interested in his helping his students. Take him, you won't regret it!!

This class was neither an easy A or a hard A. You just had to do your part in paying attention, learning the material, and studying. He's very energetic and keeps you awake even at 8:00 in the morning. Loves to help however he can. Awesome Prof!

My favorite of all time! He is hilarious and very cool. He is willing to help anyone and is genuine. He does his best to make the material clear and interesting. He has a good way of connecting the material to real world experiences. Take him... you won't regret it!!!

If you're not really into biology it can be a hard class. His tests cover a lot of material and you have to go on your own time to take them in the testing center. He can be arrogant and rude. He randomly calls on people for answers and makes you feel stupid when you don't know the answer. Takes forever to grade things and gets off topic.

This man is a spazz attack, but in a good way. He gets off topic very easily but he's always passionate about whatever he's talking about. He's open to comments but does expect you to LEARN the material he's going over. Tests are difficult but you can opt not to take them, instead he will just make your final count for double.

HE IS AN AMAZING TEACHER, he talks a whole bunch, but he gives excellent analogies and examples, he makes the hard stuff fun and easy to digest!

The good: Hands out powerpoint presentations from lectures, goes over everything that will be on the exam, always willing to answer questions. The bad: Tests are challenging. You had better have everything from the notes memorized, or you will fail the test. And don't expect to see your graded tests for at least two weeks, probably longer.

He is very nice and wants to help you any way he can but this class was TERRIBLE!!!! He doesnt know what the heck he is talking about!! The majority of his lectures are wrong information. His tests are insanely hard! almost all essay!

by far the worst teacher i have ever had!!!! when he says "this is just for our class" that means he made it up. his tests are not over the material covered in class!!! AWEFUL!!! i asked him one day why we don't follow the book, he said "because the book is wrong"

this class is very easy BUT he takes almost a month to get anything graded, and he thinks that's funny. He is very thorough--which is VERY annoying. He'll spend a whole week talking about stuff not related to the test then the day before the test... gives you ALL of the material. VERY frusterating man.

As long as you pay attention and study the material, the tests aren't hard; they are mostly fill-in-the-blank, though. Very willing to help and can be very funny at times, has lots of energy at 8am! I loved his class, biology before taking his class was extremely hard for me. He teaches the material in a way that helps you understand. He is a great teacher. He always has a lot of interesting stories and he is very helpful. The project that you have to do is pretty interesting and is not time consuming at all. You can tell that he loves what he does and he's excited to teach you about it. He can get off topic very easily but I would definitely recommend taking his class.

Worst prof I have ever had. He doesn't give back graded test, quizzes or papers for over 5 weeks. Even when asked if we could see our grades before the drop date he said and I quote, "if you wanted a teacher who grades faster you should have picked another teacher.'' The test was rarely used.. It was the same book as Bio I, which would of been nice to know. Teacher is all over the board and loses control of the class discussions. 4 VERY LONG hours.. easy if you take notes on what little science that is discussed.

What a great teacher! He is very enthusiastic about "YOU" learning. One piece of advice is to learn "how to think for yourself". Big petpieve of his is to answer his question with a question. Answer all questions, no matter if it is wrong, with a definite answer.

I loved his class!! His tests were a little hard but if you study hard for them then they are a breeze. If you don't really care for biology you will love it by the end of his class. He is definitely my favorite professor! Only bad thing is that he did take a while to grade our tests, but it was worth taking him.

I am an animal major, so him and I connected immediatly! He helped me learn alot and I loved his dissections that he had us do! He even let me keep the jaw to the shark I dissected! Incredibly enthusiastic about what he teaches. Jokes and laughs with students. Knows his stuff. Is helpful and considerate with whatever concerns you have. Tests are somewhat difficult but straight forward and manageable. PPT notes and slides are given that cover 80% of the information on the tests. A wonderful teacher and an amiable fellow.

He is amazing, made learning fun and interesting. Also he cares about his students. His tests are from his powerpoints and you can use the book but his tests are pretty straight forward.

He is nice & enthusiastic but disorganized with his notes, Powerpoints, quizzes & exams. Loses or forgets stuff. Spends about 30-40% of class time on political & other trivia (eg canned food drives, storytelling) unrelated to Biology. I would be extremely concerned if I had to actually KNOW Biology for programs and entrance exams after this course.

Class is sooooo easy and he is pretty funny. He prints out all the notes for you, and for the tests that is all you need to read (don't even bother reading the textbook). He takes FOREVER to return grades (I'm talking weeks and weeks). Also, he is kind of rude sometimes, just learn to laugh at it.

Dr. Broadhurst made my semester fun and I actually loved going to class. He gets off track really easy, but her is comical and loves his students. Mr B. is hilarious and makes the class very interesting. He keeps the class awake with his jokes. However, he is the laziest professor I have ever taken in my entire life (30 years). He is unorganised and takes a month just to give your exam grade back. The final results were due Tuesday but he still hasn't posted the grades. Nice guy but v. lazy

Hilarious professor, pretty hard to fall asleep during his lectures. Tests are major grades and very tough, Study, Study, Study. Getting the results did take a while and pretty sure the final grade was posted late because he went fishing. Highly Recommend him though. He won't disappoint.

Favorite professor I've had in a long time; would definitely take him again. He has the entire semester planned out and doesn't stray. Definitely super charismatic and you can tell he's genuinely excited to be teaching. However, his grading ability is TERRIBLE it took him over a month to grade exam 2 and over all test are extremely hard fill in plan answers mostly no scantron needed. He gives extra credit throughout the semester and his projects are easy. I would retake if needed. I hate Biology and still do but a funny guy.

You won't learn much about biology, the course is mostly just listening to broadhurst be adhd and a long stream of busy work relating to critters like sea snails and worms.

Funny, but non-informative. Nonobjective - wastes too much class time, talks about random things like feet fetishes and how color blind people shouldn't drive. Disorganized - did not get a syllabus until three weeks into the semester, and even then it lacked information.

Great class. I had ton's of fun just being in class and listening to what this man had to say. While his ADD (not for sure if he has ADD, but it seems like it) can a bit frustrating, the bulk of his lessons stay on topic. As long as you take notes, easy A. Don't believe the bad review on Yelp.

Broadhurst!!!!! I love the guy. Hes a true gem in the biology department at lonestar. He gets off track sometimes but its just his personality. He tells stories and is a very funny guy. Dont get me wrong though, I learned a lot in his class. It made me stop fearing biology!! I have reccomended him to all my friends. We love a bio legend.

To say he gets off topic is an understatement. The material could be covered in an hour and a half, but he usually uses the whole 3 hour class period. He is caring and attentive to students. You HAVE to study for the tests & show up to class, there is no way you can pass without those 2 things. Tends to share his liberal point of view often.

I took 2 of Mr. Broadhurst's biology classes because he worked so well with me as an individual student. He cares about what is going on in your life and is flexible with grades, and in both classes I took he allowed me to turn in assignments late. His lectures sometimes turn into tangents, but it is because he is so passionate. Loved his classes.

He also keeps up with attendance which can either harm or benefit you at the end of the semester. He gives extra credit projects towards the end which is great if you're not the best test taker. Broadhurst is an okay teacher, he just doesn't take time to get to know his students. My best friend and I took this class together and we constantly tease each other. One day prof heard me teasing my friend about a grade he got (I got an equally mediocre grade) and made me apologize in front of the whole class. Didn't appreciate that.

Professor Broadhurst is the best teacher I had. He was always enthusiastic and interested in what his students had to say or ask. He not only teaches you the learning material, but also discusses very interesting and important things that are going on in the world today, and I think that's just great. This class was super easy! He gives you all the information you need throughout power points, paper and online assignments, and lectures. Sometimes goes off topic, but makes the classroom is a really fun and helpful learning environment! I would totally take this class again

I don't think I would've been able to pass this class without a professor as great at Professor Broadhurst. He's incredibly caring and makes the content super easy to absorb. There's not too many labs (one to two every two weeks). There's four exams and I only had three assignments to do. If you make flashcards and LISTEN to him, you'll be fine!
