The honorable Terry Williams is a horrible human, man, and chemistry professor. Yes, chemistry is not a class that one can expect an easy A out of, however, Terry is so small minded, unintelligent, and unresponsive that it seems getting an A is near impossible. I do not recommend taking Terry ever!! You will be greeted with total bull. -10/10!!

Williams teaches with a chalkboard and loves to do practice problems in class. Obviously you are going to get bad reviews because he teaches a freshmen STEM class, but he is one of the better chem professors in this joke of a chem department. Trey was overall a fine professor. He definitely cared about how people perceived him and cared about the content he was teaching. However, you really need to pay attention to lectures and ask questions to semi-understand the material. I needed to put in a lot of effort outside of class in order to earn a B. He also has terrible handwriting.

I had heard many horror stories about chemistry, but Dr. Williams made the content easy to understand and taught it well. I loved that he hand wrote the notes because I was able to go the same speed as him, however, he didn't post the notes anywhere. He doesn't take attendance, so it doesn't matter if you skip, if you miss a class you will need a friend to send you the notes. Can be sassy at times, but overall very funny and I feel he prepared me well for the exams.

Notes aren't posted online but if you can get them from a friend its fine. Gives lots of homework/in class activities but they're very helpful to understanding the material, and it prepares you well for exam content. Sometimes responds to questions as if the answer is obvious but gives good answers.

Williams writes on a chalkboard, so you can take notes at a good pace and digest the content. Attendance not mandatory but no notes posted online so do with that what you will. He provided lots of supplemental material that was great practice. He was sassy and had a good wit which I appreciated too. Made me feel that a scary class was doable

I do not recommend Professor Williams for chemistry. Attendance is not mandatory, but the only notes you get are from the chalkboard in class. No powerpoint or presentation is provided on canvas. He is very smart, but he will make you feel bad if you don't understand something. The only time he took attendance was the day before spring break :(

This is my GOAT. He can be pretty rude and he only teaches using a chalkboard (he posts no notes or anything online). He explains things really clearly and tries to connect concepts over chapters, which helps a lot when it comes to the test and final. Oh and God forbid you talk during his class, he gets really upset about that

Professor Williams is a great professor. Attendance was not mandatory, but there were some activities in class that required a code from him. He does all of the notes on a chalkboard, which originally didn't sound too good, but ended up being very helpful for note taking. If he could write something down, you would have time to copy it.

The Clemson Gen Chem Department is one thing...Dr. Williams is another. He only does notes on the chalkboard, which is great until you try to look at your own notes and find yourself confused. He's very particular on calling him "Dr." and not talking during class. I think he would be a better guy to shoot pool with than to learn chemistry from.

I enjoyed Dr. Williams because he clearly explained topics and made a difficult class easier to understand. There were times where he would get annoyed because people were talking, but as long as it's not you, then you'll be fine. He wants you to succeed and does great reviews before every exam. The chalkboard sounds bad, but it's actually helpful!

One of the best gen chem professors!! The material is difficult of course but he does a good job preparing you for exams (at least better than a lot of the other professors). He doesn't teach much conceptual but he teaches you all the key formulas and what to memorize which are the meat of exams. He does a ton of practice in class!!

Gives good feedback

Pay attention in his lectures and go to class and you will do well. Everything in his notes is all you need to know and he explains things so well. If you put in the time it will be such a great class. I went from almost failing chem 1 to loving and doing well in chem 2

Very good teacher who uses chalkboard style. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should go to lectures. The in-class quizzes can be hard but he lets you work with friends. This is a hard course in general, but if you pay attention and use the materials he gives you, you should do well.

At first, didn't like him because he seemed straight to the point/strict. I really appreciated his teaching style; he explained hard concepts in an easy way. He did lectures on a chalkboard, but this made it easy to follow along with clearly defined terms, diagrams, and in-class practice examples which made learning much easier.

He cares about how well his students are doing, and he tries to make jokes. He is just a serious guy. Little scary but if you lock in and listen to his lectures he is fine. You will have in-class and out-of-class quizzes that you need to be in class for. He doesn't take attendance, but you can't do the in-class activities if you're not there.

He knows what he is talking about, which is great, but he can come off as off-putting when you ask a question. However, he is a chalkboard professor, which is great for an intro chem class. He doesn't take attendance, but often has in-class quizzes. He also does not post notes, so attendance is the key to success. Overall, take him.

Honestly one of the best professors I've had here at Clemson. He does lecture on a chalkboard though so it does take some getting used to but he explains concepts extremely well and makes everything easy to understand. He teaches exactly what is on the exams and as long as you pay attention and go to lecture, you'll do well.

Dr. Williams is the best professor I've had at Clemson by far. The chalkboard lecture style is so much more helpful than the professors who read through slides, and you can tell he really knows what he's talking about. He explains concepts really well and the practice tests are exactly like the real tests. I highly recommend him.

Love Dr. Williams! I was worried going into the year because of other reviews but now I wish I could have him again next semester. Attendance doesn't count, but it's important to attend class because he writes on the chalkboard (which some people dislike), allowing you to create your own notes. He's really smart and good at explaining the material

Expect a chalkboard teaching style and listen attentively. You shouldn't expect to understand the materials by just looking at your notes after calss, you need to actually take in the concepts and ideas that he mentions. SPEND EXTRA TIME PREPARING FOR THE EXAMS, and don't expect the practice tests to have the same difficulty.
