Professor Hackleman is a great person! She talks very fast during lectures because there is so much information to go over. Her tests are straight forward and although attendance isn't mandatory there are questions on tests about things she mentions in lectures which are not in the book. There are only 3 tests and no homework or quizzes.
T. Hackleman is one of the most inspiring people I have met at UGA. While challenging, her course is inspiring and engaging. I love attending office hours to talk about the class and what she expects from each student. She has a sincerity about her that keeps the students comfortable and interested in and out of class. Expect a challenge, though!
She moves a million miles an hour during lectures, but if you can take good notes during class you should be set for the tests. The test are extremely straightforward and not many curveballs are in there. I would highly recommend taking Hackleman over the other Legl professors because it seems that her avg course grades are much higher than others.
Professor Hackleman keeps the class engaging and fun!! You have to take good notes but if you really study what she talks about in class an -A isn't too hard to obtain.
Hacklemen is amazing at lecturing. She is efficient, clear, and goes exactly by the textbook. Her law experience brings great input to the class. Her stories are really applicable to the material and entertaining. Her test are very fair, multiple choice, and true/false. You have to study the notes and read the text. Only 3 test and 2 quiz, so study
Awesome professor. Hard class, and do not skip unless you can get notes from a friend. She talks really fast, but test questions come straight from her lectures. An A is possible, but not given. A lot to study but interesting and applicable. She is a great teacher and really cares about her students. Take her!!
Professor Hackleman is an excellent teacher. She conveys the material in a very clear and interesting way. She really cares about her students! Show up to class and you should have no problem getting an A.
Make sure you go to class. She talks really fast but she gives you a ton of really helpful examples and explanations for the material that is not found in the book; plus you get extra credit for showing up. Tests are doable but definitely not an easy A. She makes you work for it but I learned so much and she is super friendly and ready to help!
Definitely brings the hype when she starts lecturing. Her lectures are spoken from the ground up--scratching the basics of everything, & she makes examples or stories for each law, concept, or rule which greatly helped me remember most of them. Her tests correlate with what she says directly in lecture, which is a great reward for going to class.
Professor Hackleman is a wonderful educator. She's very knowledgeable and always ready to answer any question you have. Legal by its nature is a pretty heavy topic so make sure you read the book forward and backward. She'll have questions about cases she talks about in class on the tests, so go to class, or read notes of someone that does go
Very inelegant woman who loves law and teaching! She has great stories and lots of experience to back it up. She is TOUGH. She will help you succeed but you will need to work. Tests are few and difficult, covering a lot of material, especially the final exam. She teaches at a relatively fast pace, but you need to show up to class.
She is amazing. She really cares about her students. If you go to class, she gives examples that will be on the test. She explains things well, and her lectures are not terrible. She gives you six skip classes, and if you do not use all of them, then she will bump your grade. She is so sweet.
She is a great teacher! I HIGHLY recommend taking her if you can! There are only three test grades and the final, so you never have homework. As long as you read the textbook/take notes and go to class, you should have no problem getting a good grade. Plus, she's super nice and makes class interesting by telling stories about her life. I loved her!
Hackleman is one of my favorite professors. She cares about students and does her best to give everyone the tools they need to do well in the class. She made the class fun even through boring stuff. Grading was just 4 tests and 1 point of extra credit. Tests are 50-100 multiple choice questions, but you really have to study if you want an A.
Absolutely loved this class and Professor Hackleman. She makes the material relatable and interesting but tests aren't easy. Go to class, take notes, make flashcards, and GO TO OFFICE HOURS and you can absolutely get an A. She's incredibly helpful if you have trouble so don't hesitate to reach out to her!
This is my first posting but I felt that for this case I needed to submit a rating. I got a C+ in this class and I'd still recommend her. She is one of the most caring people I've encountered in college, and will help you succeed - but just be prepared to work for it. Go to class, and pay attention because she will only test you on her lectures.
Professor Hackleman is my favorite professor I have take at UGA. Her class seemed boring at first but her personal stories and energy made it really interesting. Read the textbook! Most students didn't buy it but I did and had no trouble in the tests. The tests are long but study the powerpoints, read the chapters, you'll be good! And she is so hot
The legal course is difficult, and I study for a lot time of course and I don't make the grade I want. The professor is helpful only if you go her office.
Best professor I have had so far at UGA. She is super nice and is always willing to answer questions and help in any way she can. Tests are multiple choice and pretty fair, especially if you go to class and take notes. Definitely recommend taking her class if you can!
Absolutely loved her. She made class interesting, but if you didn't want the extra credit you didn't have to show up. 3rd test had more questions from class discussion. Lectures are straight from book and slides from elc.
You have to go to class because ALL of her test questions are from her lectures, and she covers things that aren't in the textbook. When she annunciates things, it's on the test. She gives you 1% on your final grade if you miss 6 or less classes and do the course evaluation so GO TO CLASS!!
I would take 1,000 classes with Professor Hackleman if I had the opportunity to. She is an amazing professor who really cares about all of her students. Her class not an easy A but coming to class and reading the textbook makes an A really doable. By far the best legal professor.
Professor Hackleman was my favorite teacher this semester! She's full of interesting stories and obviously knows the material she's teaching backwards and forwards. Lectures are very important for the test, so don't miss class!
Absolutely loved this teacher. All the grades are tests but they are extremely straight forward. Just attend class and read the book and you will do fine. There is no homework and only one chance of extra credit. Overall fair teacher and super enthusiastic about her lectures.
I loved this course structure! You get the all of the chapter dates ahead of time. I could catch up on some of the chapters before I entered class. I was then able to comprehend and ask questions on concepts I didn't understand. 3 Tests and 1 Final. 4 chapters a test. If you meet some of her requirements, there's a 1% curve to your final grade.
Professor Hackelman is a wonder instructor. She makes the study of the law incredibly interesting and engaging. If you keep up with the reading and attend class, you'll have no problem being successful in her course. I would highly recommend taking LEGL 2700 with her.
Professor Hackleman is by far one of my favorite professors that I have ever had at UGA. She keeps the class engaged and genuinely cares about her students. The tests consist of examples from class and straight from the reading so overall she it's straight forward! Her tests are very fair. Loved the class!!!
Mrs. Hackleman is probably one of the best professors I have ever had at UGA. There are not secrets and the class is very straight forward. If you come to class, take good notes, and follow the powerpoints, you will make an A. She is downright just an awesome person. I would take any class that she taught. TAKE HER!!!
Great professor, if you come to class you will do well. Everything she says in class is on test, very straight forward. Makes lectures interesting, very passionate. Learned a lot in this class.
Loved this class and this professor so much. I am a political science major but I would happily take organic chemistry if it was a taught by Tricia Hackleman. She is hilarious and so dang smart. Lecture and materials are well organized, tests are mostly by the book with some stuff from the lecture.
Hackleman may be the best professor I have had at UGA so far. She is so nice, a great lecturer, and sometimes will be a Mom but not in a bad way. Her tests are 99% percent lecture so go to class and pay attention so that you don't have to read the book. Her attendance policy is also very manageable and fair.
Amazing teacher! Her tests are almost 100% what she discusses in class, so showing up gets you an automatic 75%. Only grades you have in the class are three tests, so that's kind of scary, but completely doable (for the non-honors section). She's available outside of class and awesome to talk to if you have any questions.
Hackleman is by far the best professor I've had at UGA. She is AMAZINGLY intelligent, but not ostentatious. The class contains a lot of material, and she does a great job staying on top of things. Her grading is based exclusively on exams, but there is an opportunity for 1 extra bonus point on your final grade. I absolutely would take again!
She is an amazing teacher. This class is hard if you don't follow her Powerpoints and read the chapters BEFORE class. You will have to study and come to class. She tells us things that are not in the book or on her Powerpoint in class that will be on the test. I would definitely take her again.
Hackleman is a competent professor who's passionate about law. BUT I thought this class was unnecessarily hard for what it is, extremely boring, and way too lecture heavy. All we did in class was listen to her talk at the speed of light for 50 mins. There are no grades other than the tests, so if you do badly on one you're pretty much screwed.
Hackleman is awesome. 3 tests and a cumulative final make your grade. No homework, just read the book to study for the test. Tests are clear and straight out of the powerpoints-- no tricks. Attendance is mandatory but she allowed us 6 absences. LEGL can be boring but she makes it entertaining bc she's funny and gives tons of examples/stories. 10/10
She is such a great teacher. It's a tough class in general but if you put in a few hours 1 or 2 nights before a test to study you should be fine. But definitely take Hackleman she is one of my favorite professors I have ever had!
Ms. Hackleman is amazing. I really enjoyed her class, and even if you find law boring, she makes it entertaining because she gets so animated. She is an excellent lecturer. Just make sure to show up to class and keep up with reading in the textbook, and you'll be fine. One of the best professors I've taken, hands down.
I struggled early in this class but she wants her students to succeed. After getting a C on my second test I went to her office hours and she really told me what to focus on for the tests. She talks fast but focus on what she says in class and you will do well. Reach out to her she is the best!
You may find law to be boring, but she makes it all seem interesting and very useful. Lecture is heavy, but all the answers to her test are found on the slides and in readings. As long as you go over the notes for each chapter before the exams, you're bound to succeed. Lots of concepts are just memorizing vocab anyway. No homework or quizzes!
Take Hackleman! She's so passionate/knowledgeable about legal. The whole class is based on test grades, but they are very straight forward. Read textbook, pay attention, and you'll be golden.
The best teacher I've had at UGA. She explains the material very well and gives clear examples to help you remember. The class is challenging but by no means impossible. Attendance was not mandatory but you had an opportunity for a bonus point if you miss less than six classes. I never personally used the textbook and did well in the class
She is my favorite teacher at UGA. She enjoys what she teaches and makes the class enjoyable. I wish I could take her class again! Tests are very straightforward.
She is awesome and funny! Her class is all about the tests, but they come straight from the lectures. She is a lawyer so she has lots of personal examples to clear up concepts. You should look over notes a couple times a week to study but don't need the book. I would definitely take her again.
Hackleman is wonderful! she enjoys what she teaches and makes it interesting to learn. i read the book for the first test and stopped after that most of her test questions come straight from the lectures, even using the same examples. show up and take good notes and it should be good
Grade is only 3 tests and a final composed of 50 questions (mc & t/f) which can tricky. Hackleman is an amazing instructor- always available outside of class and really knows what what she's talking about. Go to class- most of her test questions come lecture and often the examples/ practice test questions she mentions in class are on the exams.
Hackleman is wonderful and her lectures make the content so interesting. Her tests are kind of difficult, but if you read youll be fine.
Hackleman is awesome! I did not really read for her class. I mainly focused in her class and got everything I needed to know for her exams from her lectures. GO TO CLASS!! Just 3 tests and 1 cumulative final. One bonus point to overall course grade if you complete three things she asks for. Shes funny and class is interesting! Its all memorization
Mrs. Hackleman is an amazing person and I have the upmost respect for her. If you choose to take her class, buckle up and focus everyday in lecture because she hits the ground running. She talks fast, but does a good job of emphasizing important details that you will see again on the test. All her test questions come straight from lecture.
Hackleman is the best professor I've had at UGA! Her tests are very fair and if you come to class and listen you'll do well on them. She's very accessible outside of class and really supports and cares about her students. She's enthusiastic about the subject matter and always excited to come to class and teach on what she's passionate about.
I thought she was ok. I am not a fan of group projects and this class had one. I just feel the workload is never fair and the grade always reflects the mediocre additions. I did not like that there was no homework other than quizzes. Homework assists me in grasping the material more and I just did not get a good learning experience here.
There are only 4 tests in this class and they're hard, so study a lot and listen really closely to her lectures. Professor Hackleman is awesome besides her tests, though. She picks interesting cases and always jokes around, but is also accomplished and respected. I'm planning on going to law school because of her!
She is the BEST! I enjoy her lectures bc she makes them interesting with anecdotes and being animated. She cares about her students, but her tests can be tricky. They are all T/F and MC, but the content is very specific so you have to know it. If you go to class and pay attention, you should be fine. The book is helpful for clarification.
Best prof. at UGA hands down. literally come to class and focus on EXACTLY everything she says and you will pass every test . 3 tests - 50 questions , final exam - 100 cumulative questions. tests are NOT hard at all , easy A if you pay attention. Would definitely take prof. Hackleman again if I could.
Print the PPTs she posts before lecture, bring them to class, and write notes from lecture on what she says (specifically stuff she repeats/ stresses). I used the textbook for reinforcement after each chapter, to add things I may've not been able to note in class, but remember her stating. Easy exams if you go to class and take notes!
3 tests and a final with one point EC opportunity. she is so sweet and a really good teacher. everything on tests were said during lecture or in the book. I would just make sure to pay attention to her lectures every day and take good notes. she really cares about her students
I wish all professors were like her. She goes around the room before each class and laughs with the students. So kind. Answers all questions really thoughtfully. She lives the content, and teaches it excitedly. She lectures quickly, so just be ready. If you read textbook before hand it helps. Daily attendance. Tests come right from lecture or book
Best professor I've taken at UGA! Lectures are very interesting and she explains everything super well. I wish I had put in more effort because it would've been an easy A. I hope I can take her again in the future. Take her if you can!
Such a good teacher!! You dont need the textbook IF you can write down everything she says in class. Youre not supposed to record her lectures but it would def help if you could. You have to work for her class but its not hard if you pay attention and can remember.
Loved her lectures! Really interesting and a good sense of humor. Pay attention in class and read the book though; no extra work past that.
My favorite professor at UGA!! She is an amazing professor. Her lectures are so interesting and entertaining, I actually enjoyed going to class! The tests are difficult, but only because there is so much information that it's hard to study all of it. If you read the textbook and come to class you should be fine!
Absolutely love Hackleman. The class consists of lectures with 3 exams and the final. She gives 1 point extra credit to your final grade for <6 absences. She's strict, but fair and you know exactly what's expected. Tests are straightforward MC. She talks fast but repeats herself and posts slides after class and explains w/ examples.
Hackleman has been one of my favorite professors at UGA so far. Her tests are tricky, but they're fair multiple-choice questions, so you have to go to class and really pay attention to make sure you understand everything. She talks quickly, but mostly everything she says is in the textbook so you can always read it to clarify certain topics.
Favorite professor I have had thus far at UGA. We covered a ton of material in this class and at times it seemed overwhelming, but her lectures were super interesting and engaging, especially considering how dry the subject matter could get sometimes. Policies were fairly strict, but all very clear with no surprises. HIGHLY recommend taking her.
TAKE HER!! she has been my favorite prof at UGA- very engaging and meaningful lectures. Go to class because it only benefits you and makes the tests that much easier
I absolutely loved this class! Hackleman is really sweet and makes the class interesting with her examples. She posts slides on eLC, but not all of the content is on the slides, so you need to go to class. Also, she talks really fast, but if you get the textbook, you can always go look there for clarification. She also gave 1 bonus point. TAKE HER!
I love Hackleman! She has a lot of real world experience and is passionate about legal information and makes very informed and understandable lectures. She speaks from the beginning to the end of class so you can't be late and you have to pay attention, and she talks fast. But her tests are all memorization and are not nearly as hard as they seem
Professor Hackleman is very intelligent, well-spoken, and really tries to get to know the class. Attendance is mandatory (She gives you approximately 6 misses I think), and everything she mentions in class is on the test. She talks VERY fast, so you need to come ready to type notes fast. I read the book before every test and went to class everyday.
Do yourself a huge favor and take this class with Hackleman! She teaches you everything you need to know during class, and if you take good notes and find a quizlet for the vocab you'll do fine. The book is dry and was hard for me to read, but you won't need to unless you miss a class. The slides are basic and won't help you much.
Prof Hackleman is one of the best teachers at UGA and she really cares about her students. She makes the material seem interesting and provides relevant examples. Her policies are definitely strict and there are only four grades in the class (3 tests, 1 final, + opportunity for bonus point), but it is worth it. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS TO PREPARE!
Professor Hackleman is so great! She knows the material can be challenging and honestly pretty dry but she always tries to make it as interesting as possible and even throws a few jokes into her lectures. Tests are based off the textbook and HER LECTURES! Fair tests as long as you go to class and read.
This class is full of information. Mrs. Hackleman is hilarious and really cares about her students success. she tells it like it is. her lectures are important to attend because she says more than in what are listed in her powerpoints. the second half of the semester was online and she did recorded lectures. great class. would take her again!
The class is solely based on three tests and a final. There is one extra credit opportunity to receive one point to your final grade. Her tests are pretty straight forward content wise- you should do well if you attend class and read. She talks fast in her lectures so it helps to read the chapter before and print the slides out.
Really interesting class that teaches you a lot about law. Make sure to pay attention during class because questions on exams are similar to examples she uses in class. Really great teacher that cares about her students and makes you excited about the subject.
She knows LEGL. Took the class on zoom and now she does not putt her lectures online. So if you miss a class, good luck. She has attendance through class in a 2 question quiz, so if you miss one question on the quiz your participation for the day is a 50. Her zoom is piled with info with no time for any questions throughout the lecture. Frustrating
I took this class via Zoom (it was a hybrid class). Would I take this professor again or recommend her to a friend? Heck no. There is no time to ask questions during her class or take notes as she goes way too fast + she doesn't stay on Zoom after lectures. Not understanding at all and simply doesn't work with you if you have issues (with wifi)!!
Mrs. Hackleman is a professor that really struggled with the transition to online learning. She pays zoom kids little attention. Lectures are mandatory with quizzes attendance checks. 1 freebie, 1 content question just check your notes. She goes very fast and the posted slides contain very little info so you better be in class for the lecture.
I LOVE Professor Hackleman. She is such an engaging and entertaining lecturer. She has you buy a textbook, but its usefulness is pretty limited. As long as you pay attention in class and take good notes, there won't be a problem. Also, use her office hours!
She talks way too fast for you to keep up. If you are not a fast writer and not a good test taker.... good luck. She also forgets to give the quizzes out before the class time is over and if y oh didnt stay an extra 30 seconds you miss the quiz and get a 0. She has no remorse for missed assignments if you have a technology problem.
Hackleman is a great lecturer and person - but talks extremely fast and the PowerPoints have little info on them. I struggled because I need a visual to refer to while writing notes and it was hard to type and listen without it. No hw, and exams are very tough and detailed. Quizzes every class (not hard). Read the book and GO TO CLASS!!!
The recent reviewers of Prof H clearly havent made an effort to attend class. Zoom lectures are tough but she was very accessible if you attended class in person. She held regular office hours and always answered questions before & after class in person as well. An amazing prof who actually knows what shes talking about!
This class is the reason I'm about to lose my scholarships and possibly get disowned by my parents. DO NOT take this class. She makes it extra hard, goes way too fast, doesn't care for student's well being. Impossible to keep up with.
Probably one of my favorite professors. Go to class and write down everything. Review your notes a week before each tests and you will do fine. Not a hard class, just a lot of material each exam. One of the better legal teachers at UGA.
She is a phenomenal lecturer. Truly enjoyed her class. Take notes of everything she says. You only get graded on tests and attendance. The tests are straightforward but they do cover a lot of information. Review your notes a few times before the test and you should be fine. You definitely have to work for your grade in this class.
Prof Hackleman is a good lecturer but goes really fast sometimes. The class is very test heavy. There are 3 tests each 20% and then a final. You have to read the textbook thoroughly.
Tests are difficult but fair. Don't take this class if you don't want to attend zoom or in person lectures. Easy quizzes every lecture, drops 3 lowest. Only 4 grades and cumulative final. Was fine without buying the textbook, just go to class and pay attention. Hackleman is engaging and interesting. I surprisingly really enjoyed this class.
Passionate professor, and nice enough. The exams are really difficult though. Got my first B with her.
Stay away if youre a person of color! she helps the certain people she likes during her office hours and tells them whats on the test/gives them an advantage but claimed I cheated. I was forced to agree to something I didnt do because if I moved forward it would only get worse.
The absolute best professor. Professor Hackleman is so passionate about what she teaches and always makes time to meet with her students.
Professor Hackleman was the best professor Ive had at UGA thus far. She teaches you so many things that will help you down the road. She makes the material super interesting too! Her office hours are super helpful and she is extremely fair.
Professor was extremely knowledgeable and the class wasn't too bad in general. Make sure to study since it still isn't really a walk in the park. Don't do as well as you want to on a test and there is a long way to go to get back to the grade you want. She is caring yet assertive and make sure you go to class for the in-class quizzes she gives.
I LOVE PROF HACKLEMAN! Class is lecture heavy, and she talks fast, so pay attention! Lectures follow the textbook, so use that to reinforce. Start studying for her exams in advance, because they are specific. Go to class and put in the work outside of class and you will do great! She also takes the time to get know each of her students.
Go to class, take your notes on a computer (type them), and study in advance for the tests and you will be fine! Prof Hackleman does truly care about her students and is crazy knowledgable about what she teaches. She does talk fast, which is why I recommend typed notes. Don't. Skip. Class. Her lectures aren't comprehensive!
Fantastic professor. Respected. Caring and available in office hours--not just for LEGL, for life advice. Speaks quickly, but writing notes is feasible. Fair tests, easy quizzes to pad grade. Pay attention and go to office hours. Textbook useful but not required (I stopped reading after first few chapters). EC max 1pt on final grade (e.g. 92->93).
At first, this class was incredibly difficult for me because I wasn't exposed to legal prior but Hackleman's lectures are concise and easy to understand. Make sure to take notes on your laptop as she speeds through the lecture material and spend ample time studying for tests. Very accommodating with social matters as too, all around great person
There are no homework assignments or anything of the sort to boost your grade. Class is comprised of tests and quizzes solely. The questions are also very difficult. She goes very quickly on the lectures, and her powerpoint are very broad, so you need to go to class. Overall, I didn't like her class. I didn't really like her either, sorry.
i literally love this woman with every fiber in my being. I want her to teach me everything for the rest of my life. She is caring and understanding and gets to know her students very well. working hard and going to class will get you a good grade. i love her so much. mwuah
Love Dr. Hackleman! She is super engaging, lectures are very interesting. She is extremely passionate in what she teaches, and her stories really help a bunch. Definitely go to class, it is so so worth it. Study for tests in advance because it can all pile up at the end. 3 tests plus that final with a good amount of quizzes designed to bump grades
Hackleman was a GREAT professor. She is VERY by-the-book and strict in terms of grading and rules and there is only 1 extra credit point that you can earn from her, but honestly the class is fantastic. You learn an absolute ton. I found that the textbook isn't really necessary? So try to get it as cheap as possible. Overall, highly recommend!
Professor Hackleman makes class worth going to. She makes the lectures entertaining and very easy to understand. Tests can be tricky because theres so much information to cover. She also loves true or false questions so make sure you really understand the information. Class is very easy to succeed in if you make the effort
I LOVE HER. BEST PROFESSOR AT UGA. She is so clear with her expectations and if you go to class you WILL learn. You need to attend her lectures, but if you do you are solid. She really cares about her students and wants what's best for them. Seriously, she structures her class so well and is truly one of the best... as a professor and person.
Absolute GOAT. I love Professor Hackleman and she was a fantastic teacher who cares a lot about her students and is passionate about what she teaches. The class and tests are straightforward and if you go to class and take notes you will do well. Great teacher and great class.
Professor Hackleman is one of the best professors Ive had at UGA. The class was challenging but doable. The honors section had a difficult oral argument but she graded it super easy. Her tests in honors are open-ended and she is looking for very specific answers. Nonhonors is multiple choice. Do not take if you do not like to memorize information.
She is truly an amazing professor and I wish I could take more classes with her. GO TO CLASS! I got an A on the first exam and felt less motivated for the rest so ended with a B+. If you go to class and office hours you will get an A if you're willing to put in the work. She is the best professor I've had at UGA.
By far my favorite professor. She expects a lot from her students and is very detail oriented but she makes her expectations clear. The exams were difficult, around 7 chapters on each of them and a mix of MC and free response, but she gives other assignments as padding(quote). She loves participation and makes an effort to get to know her students.
get me out of this class.
She scares me.
Great professor! She sets very clear expectations that aren't difficult to exceed if you go to class and study for exams. 3 exams that are just memorization and a quiz every chapter but they are online and meant to help your grade! Highly recommend!
Professor Hackleman is tough but super fair. She only lectures in class but everything on the tests is something that we've learned in class. Her expectations are clear so it's on you to take good notes in class and study for the tests. If you have a study buddy and you spend a lot of time preparing, you'll be golden!
Go to class! She posts slides but they are bare bones. Pay attention to the examples/stories she tells, she will often put them in the exams. Heavily based on memorization, will be a difficult class if you aren't good at that. She has (fair) rules and won't give exceptions to them to anyone, so don't expect her to bump up your grade.
Dr. Hackleman's class was my favorite this semester! She cares about her students and keeps lectures interesting. There's a textbook, but you don't need it. Go to class for the extra credit point and because she doesn't post all the slides on elc. Tests are memorization and super specific, but study a few days before and you'll do fine.
This class is by no means an easy A. If you do not have time to put in the work take another professor. With that said, Hackleman is a great lecturer and person. Extremely engaging and makes the material fun to learn. Go to class and literally write down everything she says, her test questions are extremely specific. Read the textbook before exams.
DO NOT take her class. She is an engaging teacher but her tests intentionally try to trick you. Studied hours and hours and still did not do well on tests. She teaches like your a law student and wants you to know every specific detail. Very test heavy class.
Go to every lecture! You can get an extra credit point for attendance & the slides she posts online only have 10% of the info you need for exams. Her lectures are interesting which makes it super easy to remember the examples when she puts them on tests but you still need to study heavily. There's also online, open-note quizzes to pad your grade.
She's a good person but not a great professor. She posts the slides with only 20% of the information you need so you better go to class and take notes. She speaks extremely fast so you better be able to write or type just as fast. You'll need to go to every class and on top of that, you pretty much have to read the book if you want an A on a test.
Professor Hackleman is amazing! She is very accomplished and passionate about what she teaches. I would definitely recommend going to class, as it's the best way to ensure you succeed. There is a lot of material, open note quizzes, and in person exams, but it's not too difficult. You'll learn a lot! Take her!!
Dr. Hackleman is a great professor that really cares about her students and is very passionate about teaching LEGL. She goes in depth and although attendance isn't required, go or you will fail the tests. The tests make up 85% of the grade, but are relatively simple if you know the information well. If you have any interest in law, take Hackleman.
Be prepared to take really really detailed and good notes, but if you do (and study them well), then you will get a good grade in the class! Dr. Hackleman is a great person who is always willing to write rec letters or give great career/life advice. She really cares about her students, but this care doesn't mean that she will bend the rules for you
Journal; 10% Attendance; 10% Weekly Quizzes; 10% Oral Argument; 20% Exams; 30% Final; 20% Hackleman is a fantastic professor. The books helps SO MUCH- she goes really fast, so you can't get great notes from lectures, but you can make up what you didn't get through the book. Unlike other LEGL classes, tests are only 30%, but they're way harder.
Great prof, very fast during her lectures, introduces new material, different from her original slides posted on elc which makes it difficult to jot down what is important or not, test are difficult, heard from other peers that their are other legl profs who's test were easier, do what you want with that info.
One of my favorite professors! Hackleman has an intimidating first-impression, but she is a wonderful woman and professor. She acts like an atypical lawyer, so if you want to do well in her class follow the rules. Class is test heavy, but if you read the book and come to class you should get "A"s. She also provides office hours and extra credit.
This class is way harder than 2700, trust me. Hackleman is an amazing professor, cares about her students and is passionate about what she does. She acts and teaches like a typical lawyer; strict on her guidelines and grading (!), extremely knowledgable, speaks fast (skeleton slides in lecture) so come to class. One of the best professors here!
Hackleman was absolutely amazing. Her lectures were so engaging and while the test questions can be tricky if you are well prepared, they weren't too difficult. She also lectures very fast so it can be difficult to keep up, but she is available outside of class. Only prof to add quizzes to balance out your grade. Textbook not mandatory but helpful.
She is a very passionate and nice professor but the tests really determine your entire grade. The final was really difficult for me and the only test I found easy was the third exam. If you think you can remember a bunch of laws, court cases, etc. then take this course. What made this class the most difficult for me was the true false.
Hackleman is a great professor that makes sure her students know the content very well. Graded by in person tests and a cumulative final, so GO TO CLASS (but attendance is optional). Her slides have little information compared to what she says in class, which is the tests. Take her if you are genuinely interested in law and have strong study skills
My favorite professor at UGA! You get what you put into this class. Attend every lecture & write down everything she says. Most of her tests are about what she says during lecture. Buy the textbook- it will help you study for exams & a lot of quiz questions come directly from it. This class was so helpful in preparing me for the real world. A gem!
I loved this professor! She knew what she was talking about and made class entertaining! It was challenging and you had to put the work in to get a good grade, but you learn so much! Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss 6 or less classes you get an extra credit point. I would recommend taking this class with Hackleman.
Dr. Hackleman is my favorite professor here at UGA! She puts amazing effort into her lectures and always makes them entertaining. I learned so much in her class and honestly enjoyed all the studying it required. Don't be scared of the work, it is very much worth it!
DONT TAKE HER UNLESS YOU CAN ACTUALLY STUDY AND MEMORIZE LIKE 50 PAGES FOR 1 TEST! I cried myself every time i went to class. She didn't give any notes and you were expected to write everything down and I mean EVERYTHING. Very test heavy as that was the only thing you were graded on. Idk how everyone loves her class cause it was awful.
I absolutely loved taking Hackleman's class last semester! Her lectures are really good and actually interesting and entertaining bc she's pretty funny too. Taking good notes and coming to every class is key to being successful, but it's really rewarding like I feel like I learned sooo much. You can tell she really loves and cares about her job.
I love her! Graded by 4 exams including the final. There are also quizzes over each chapter but they're open note and open internet. Get the textbook. It's the basis of her lectures so if you miss something its almost always in there. Go to class and be attentive. She's a wonderful professor, but you are going to have to study hard for the exams.
Professor Hackleman's class is very lecture heavy but she makes the course material very enjoyable and it's a helpful class outside of school. The tests aren't extremely easy but if you go to class and listen and take notes you'll do perfectly fine
Hackleman lectures quickly and doesn't post many notes, if you miss something it could cost you, exams are in person paper pencil. With that said, quizzes are there to help your grade and Hackleman is great with answering questions and being available for office hours. She's energetic and engaging, a great person and great teacher.
DO NOT TAKE FOR AN A. Shes a great professor but do not take her if you want an A or even A- in this class. I study for upwards of 15 hours for the testsl; so specific. Take a different professor who doesn't make you do copious amounts of studying for a terry pre-req. ridiculous how hard she makes the tests in comparison to other professors.
LOVED her class! it's definitely harder to pay attention if you don't have an interest in the law. i loved professor hackle man both inside and outside of class, she was fun and friendly and though her lectures were long and very content heavy, she's one of the most caring professors i've had at UGA so far. take advantage of office hours!!!!
Great teacher and one of my favorite classes. She's very tough but almost everything she says is in the textbook if you miss it. Lots of studying but the material itself isn't hard, there's just lots of information. Attendance isn't required but its really hard to catch up if you miss. ] I really recommend taking this class with her
This class is not an easy A, but I still enjoyed taking the class. It is genuinely an interesting class to take, but you really do have to attend all the lectures to maximize your chances of getting an A. If you are good at memorizing a lot of arcane things, you'll be fine on the exams. If not, good luck.
She is the best! Take her if you can. Attend class and be ready for quick lectures. But if you read the textbook, you will be more than fine. Attending her office hours before tests are the best way to get extra help. She really cares about her students and is there to help. Yes, it is a harder class but just put in some effort
Hackleman is great, but her class is very difficult. Not a lot of extra credit opportunities and she goes over a lot of content in class so if you don't go, you're at a disadvantage. Very engaging class if you're interested in law
Take her if you can! She makes class interesting and is eccentric but in the best way possible. This is a hard class but if you put in the work you will do good. She gives limited extra credit but if you get under 6 absences and turn in a note card at the beginning of the semester she raises your grade by a point.
Hackleman makes LEGL2700 very entertaining. While her class is quite difficult, I enjoyed all of her very vivid lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the slides aren't descriptive and half the test is stuff she's said in class. Office hours are very helpful. Only tests/quizzes in gradebook, so you need to go to class and listen well.
This class was kind of difficult because its a lot of lectures, and the only grades are homework quizzes and tests. There aren't practice tests to study so you just review your notes. Aside from the curriculum, I thought Mrs Hackleman was great. She always told me she was happy to see me and it's nice to see a professor care about you like that.
This class may be HARD (A LOT of material), but as long as you literally type down everything she says in class, you're fine. If you don't go to class, you're doomed. She is so passionate about what she teaches and provides MANY examples to keep concepts in your head. She makes you passionate about what you are learning.
Hackleman is one of my favorite professors I have ever taken. Even though there is so much material I felt like I didn't even need to study that much because I soaked in so much of the material through her lectures. Make sure to take notes on mostly everything because she will ask really specific questions, but that is the way the Legal field is.
Professor Hackleman's lectures are always very engaging and interesting and I would certainly take her again. Her tests can be difficult but are definitely fair and you can do pretty well, although you must spend considerable time studying the material thoroughly. Attendance is needed for an extra credit point but not for a grade otherwise.
Hackleman is one of the smartest professors I have ever come across. Her class is hard, but she is very clear in her expectations and wants everyone to do well. She also cares very deeply about her students, so get to know her. She was very helpful to me when I went through something while in her class - something I never expected from a professor.
Mrs. Hackleman is by far one of the worst teachers I've ever had. If you don't take good notes in class you are bound to fail. Tests are insanely specific and try to trick you. She was very confrontational and would call me out in front of the class after I tried to meet with her. Lectures are very fast so taking notes was very challenging.
This is my favorite class I have taken so far at UGA, Hackleman is an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining lecturer. If you skip class more than once or twice, it will cost you. Write down literally everything she says in lectures, as she moves fast and only posts skeleton slides. Be prepared to study for days before tests and USE FLASHCARDS!!!
Go to class, take a decent notes, visit office hours(key to success-That's why it's on high demand). Lastly, read question carefully!!! Exam is like a minefield, trap is everywhere. Best quality of lecture I've ever had so far.
If u wanna go to law school, take her, if not, I would rather seek another professor to get a better grades
Tricia Hackleman's lectures are engaging and informative, though the class does require significant time commitment. Attendance is a must, but you can nail the exams by closely following the material and utilizing helpful study tools like Unstuck AI. Highly recommended if you're interested in law.
Hackleman is very engaging and one of the best professors I have had at UGA. With that being said, tests are hard and you have to prep a lot for them. Changes small details to change the answer to a true and false question etc. Only professor that makes you memorize a ton of cases. If you want an easy A, dont take her
Attendance isn't mandatory, but no extra credit is offered if you skip more than 6 times. Skip the class and don't have any note buddies, you will gonna bomb the test. Take good notes and read your notes several times, she asks about everything that she had referred to during the class, even though that information takes a small proportion.
Hackleman is the GOAT. She includes court cases on her tests, which other profs don't, but I found that beneficial as it helps you actually apply the knowledge you learn in the class. Getting an A is tough b/c there's just a lot to remember but her lectures are amazing and she makes a dry subject fun.
Hackleman is one of the BEST Terry profs. Super sweet and relatable, she always talks to students before class starts which I like! Her tests are hard so read a lot, but if you have any interest in Law or enjoy watching shows/movies about it(suits and My cousin vinny for me lol), you'll like her! She is strict, but really fair. Do take her!
The way she teaches helps you to really remember the material, and while she does go into depth a lot I learned so much and would 100% take her again. I never knew law could be interesting before taking her class you just have to study hard before the exams but she gives easy online quizzes that are worth a full test grade combined.
I've learned a lot, and this is the best quality of lecture I've taken so far. Class is challenging, because you have to memorize numerous court cases and she covers every single detail what she've covered during the lecture, but this class will make you into better college student.
This class with Professor Hackleman was my favorite class I have taken here at UGA. She is extremely knowledgable on the subject and will set you up for success with the material. Attendance is mandatory & she offers extra credit for showing up at the end. This class is case heavy, but is not too bad. Overall, you will learn a lot from this class.
Amazing professor, tough class. you have to be at lecture to do well on exams.
Passionate professor who makes lectures engaging and truly cares about her students. The course is challenging, and you need to go to class and take detailed notes to do well and receive the extra credit point. You will learn a lot of valuable information, and Professor Hackleman is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help!
Hackleman is awesome! She's a super engaging lecturer and an extremely fair grader. Lectures are attendance optional, but every test question is covered in lecture, so don't plan on skipping. Even though I just barely made an A, this class was one of my favorites. Take good notes and review them often!
Hackleman is the most entertaining and engaging lecturer at UGA. She can make dull content interesting. Attendance is mandatory in order to earn a bonus point at the end of the semester. The content isn't hard, but there is a lot of it. She really makes an effort to talk to students and get to know them.
If you show up to class and take good notes, there is no reason you should not get an A or at least a B. She is strict but fair, and she has a valid reason for everything she does. She gives no preferential treatment. She is an amazing lecturer, and she made me want to pursue law because I had no idea it could be so interesting.
Hackleman knows the material very well and lectures from memory, so you need to be able to take notes while she talks. Attendance is required and checked by a sign in sheet. The tests are pretty much straight from lectures. She does test on details so be aware.
Hackleman is fine, but there are easier teachers to take for this class, especially if you don't want to go to law school. She is very strict about attendance down to the minute and be ready to take notes as she speaks because there are few supporting slides.
take tripp if you want a higher grade
Hackleman is hands-down the best option for this class IF you want to learn. She lectures from experience as a lawyer and is engaging and personable. You have to take notes on almost everything she says to do well on tests. If you want an easy A, take someone else; but for me, she inspired me to go to law school, so I'd certainly take her again.
Take her!!! She is amazing. She is very easy to contact, she wants to get to know everyone in the classroom, and her lectures are in no way boring. Every test question is based on something she talked about in class, so if you take good notes and pay attention, you literally cannot fail.
She is so enthusiastic about what she's teaching. She makes everything really easy to understand, and she keeps the class engaged. She really cares about her students. Her tests are really specific though. Lots of paragraph questions with really specific terminology needed. Take really good notes. She posts slides, but they don't everything.
Hackleman is a great professor, but this is one of the harder classes I have taken. Although attendance is not mandatory, go to class. I got a 66 on my first test and have been playing catch-up to get a B. Once I started trying, the class got easier. Just be prepared. I highly recommend taking her, as I think she is a great professor.
Entire grade is a couple tests and 11 quizzes (1 drop). Take good notes and go to class. Use quizlet and just memorize everything
Great Professor who knows a ton about Legal Studies. Class was pretty difficult due to all of the specific things that you need to know, but this is definitely a class that you get what you put in. I Attendance is not mandatory, if you go a certain number of days you are eligible to get a bonus point. Also most of the lectures are needed for tests.
TJH is amazing. 2800H is harder than 2700 (written v. MC tests, mandatory v. EC attendance, extra project in H) but so worth it if you can make it work with your schedule. She cares about her students and is passionate about the subject matter, everything a professor ought to be. Don't be scared off by her no-nonsense attitude, she's awesome.
Genuinely the best professor I have had at UGA. Her lectures are so amazing and engaging, you can tell she knows what she is talking about and is passionate about teaching. It makes attending class that much better. Her tests are hard but once you figure out how to study its not bad. Take good notes in class and use quizlets. best legal professor.
Professor Hackleman is by far my favorite professor at UGA. Her passion for law is contagious, and she makes even the toughest legal concepts genuinely enjoyable to learn. She is approachable, fun to chat with, and always willing to help. If you go to class, take solid notes, and study before exams (even just quizlets), you're set. Take her!
I found this to be an easy class if you just go to class and study before tests. Also, Hackleman is the best professor I have had so far, and her love for teaching makes the class so much more enjoyable! Class is content heavy, but like 80% of the questions are directly from the lectures and she'll guide you in the right direction.
Super interesting professor who gives great lectures. Went in to the class thinking I wouldn't like it, but it ended up being my favorite class. Tests are challenging, but if you take good notes and use the textbook for additional clarification, you can master the content and do very well. Utilize her office hours to clear up confusing topics.
She is genuinely one of the best professors I have ever had. Cares about her students and is accessible. Lectures are interesting and engaging. Very fun person and easy to listen to. Just make sure you do put in the work for this class. It is very hard. If you cannot, do not take honors, but if you do you should. This class will change your life.
Hackleman was awesome! She did not mess around but was a good professor. You have to go and pay attention to do good because pretty much exactly what she says is on the test and she doesn't post notes. Take her! She was interesting and made content clear.
she may be the most caring professor that i have had at UGA. she talks to me before and after class- and shes a great person. do not go into this thinking you will not have to study. hackleman makes you work. GO TO THE LECTURE.
Go to class and pay attention and you'll get a B-, study and you'll get an A/A-. There's a lot of information presented but there isn't any synthetization of material its just memorization so not that bad. Shes awesome, lectures are interesting and engaging, she really cares which is awesome and I learned a lot of useful stuff.
Best professor i've ever had. She is really fun to listen to during the lecture and doesn't make it boring. What she teaches is interesting and goes above and beyond to help you, answer any questions, or review your test. She is extremely knowledgeable about course material. Take her for sure. 1st exam is hardest because of the amount of content.
Shes a chiller just have to go to class and pay attention. Good notes = Good Grades, simple as that. Honestly only class I've ever paid attention in class, and it helps a ton
great teacher who really knows her stuff, she goes extremely fast in class but if you do your best to pay attention and study well this class is very doable. tests are a majority of the grade and she doesn't drop one but the quizzes help bring your grade up and she offers an extra credit point for missing 6 or less classes
Hackleman is great at the best professor you can take for this course! She is so knowledgeable and passionate, which makes class really fun and interesting. Some people are probably intimidated by her strict rules but they are all very fair and reasonable. If you show up to class and put in the work, it is not hard to do well in this class!
Dr. Hackleman is the best professor I have had. Definitely the best LEGL 2700 option. Textbooks can be helpful but not needed, all test info is in her lecture. Take good computer notes and you're solid, Quizlet is great. She's also super nice, talks to students before/after class, and knows almost everyone's name which is crazy for a lecture hall.
Take her, Bang
Awesome teacher, pretty moderate class thanks to her. She talks with literally everyone before and after class and is very down to earth. What she teaches and says is exactly on the test, with word for word examples. Take notes, go to office hours, and read the textbook and you'll get an A in this class, I found out after the first exam :)
She is definitely an extremely smart person and forces you to learn, but it gets to a point where she intentionally makes lectures so extreme and information-packed that you can't keep up in class. She doesn't give any information on what topics the exams will be over, so be prepared to understand and memorize 30-45 full pages of notes per exam.
genuinely impossible to study for this final
Overloads you with notes, nearly impossible to study for final. Great person but heard every other LEGL professor at UGA actually prepares you for the tests.
Very enthusiastic and clearly knows what she's talking about. Class is lecture heavy and most of the information is not on the posted slides. I tried reading the textbook to study and am still finding the class difficult. She speaks very fast so have friends to compare notes with. I've never done this poorly in a class before.
Hackleman has been my favorite professor at UGA so far! Her lectures are engaging, and you can tell she really cares about her students. Just pay attention to the lectures and take good notes. NotebookLM and Quizlet are your best friends for this class.
def take Hackleman she is such a strong person and showcases that through her lectures. she does speak very fast and doesn't let u record anything so be prepared to write a lot very fast. the textbook isn't mandatory but helps to catch up on notes u missed and a lot of what she says in class is on the exam so listen carefully.
Hackleman has been one of my favorite professors so far. She is very no nonsense but also caring, and keeps the class engaged the most out of any professor I've taken so far. There is a lot of content, but honestly if you don't let it pile up, it really isn't too onerous.
Prof Hackleman is my favorite professor I've ever had. She cares SO much about every student, as long as they show a little effort. You will have to study in this class, as well as take notes on her lectures, as her tests are very lecture-heavy. If you are able to, take her- you won't regret it.
