all three of us..amber ellena and me..say trig is a phenomenal teacher. he is a little difficult tho definitely unique and definitely **gorgeous**!
trig is a god and his classroom is a heaven :)
Professor Trig Johnson is so **SEXY”**! He is also SO BRILLIANT and VERY FUNNY! I will miss our class! :(
Sweet class. A cool prof into teaching. A fair grader> Gets you to think a lot about the heavy stuff.
He has a very expressive way of teaching. Not ordinary book-work, more of critically thinking about controversial issues. However, his tests are about the material in the notes and book which are sometimes never discussed in class.
trig is the most unique person ive ever met! you'll find out that he has this really strong presence hes like a movie star (maybe like johnny depp) or a dreamy renaissance man in romance novel. i want to eat him up b/c hes yummy delicious gorgeous brilliant and fab! my fave even if i only got a c
i loved the class snd you will if you like deepthinking and don't like just memoring facts
trig is definately smart and sexy (yummy!) he's sometimes a little out there though! i learned a lot about the arts and he made class a lot of fun. :)
great prof no complaints
I had trig for H. Traditions 1 now HUM2210 his very first semester at UCF last fall. He was very different and some what non predictable in his methods. He does enjoy his job and really wants mold your mind and make you think. I think he looks like John Malkovish.
Trig Johnson is probably the most gorgeous, mesmerizing, and intelligent prof you will ever have. He is very helpful. has a great sense of humor. At times, I think that Johnny Depp is teaching my Humanities class. He's a little bit all over the place, but as long as you can somewhat follow his lectures and read all the material, then you'll do fine
Trig Johnson is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Like the person said before, you can't hear him, he forgets what he's talking about constantly and his tests are completely unfair! I went to every lecture and studied and was totally unprepared for his exam. I strongly do not recommend him to anyone!
He was an easy professor. his lectures were based on the book but werent straight from it. He got off topic in the lectures but has a sense of humor and makes you laugh. if you read the book and go to his classes you will be fine. my class has hardly any homework, just to read the book, and there arent any papers.
awesome, but i can see how he could be tough for conventional or bad or lazy students.
Professor Trig Johnson makes you feel like you are in COLLEGE because he always challenges you to make meaningful connections and think outside of the box. No stupid rote memorization stuff in our class. Is very philosophical, interdisciplinary, engaging, eccentric, witty, doesn't give busywork, gives good exam reviews and fair tests AND is HOT!
I like going to class just to hear him speak
He's a pretty crazy teacher. I swear he comes to class a little influenced... I have yet to see the speaker system that he keeps telling us about. He goes off on tangents and I'm not so sure if he always knows what he's talking about. He likes to sing alot. He breaks into song ever day. His max is 3 times/day. He's nice, but a little creepy.
prof johnson is definitely a little eccentric he makes sense tho atleast if the test is hard he puts a curve on it you can tell hes really into teaching i like the philosophical connexions and that he doesnt give you alot of busywork
He's VERY philosophical and VERY creative. Easy exams. Class is fun. ;)
incredible
Ok, so I admit, the first test was out there. I studied and failed. However, let me tell you, this guy admitted that we all failed because he wrote a bad test, and gave us a different one. A few lectures are out there, I'm not going to lie. But trust me, he's cool. I definitely would love to take another class with him.
He is definatly a good professor. He knows when he is wrong and will make sure your grade does not suffer if he is. As long as you study, you will be fine in his class. Read the text and know the material. Study the lecture notes. He does have a Johnny Depp thing to him but Johnny is hotter, of course.
professor johnson is a great communicator he also has a real subtle and sophisticated humor that makes class fun lots of creative philosophical stuff which blows the mind sometimes exams can be chaalenging but hes a fair grader lots of energy and hes obviously way into teaching and he's HOT :)
Smarter and more caring than any other teacher I've had at UCF. Probably the funniest too! REALLY into teaching and heavy on the Greeks. Exams aren't that bad but they cover alot so be prepared. I'll probably take him for philosophy or maybe religion.
Seriously like the worst professor ever. Never shows up to class, has no clue when the tests are or even what is on the test. He never never never comes to class, and then says that the tests are based on his lectures. The tests are ridiculous, nothing like he tells you they will be. Do not take him!
He knows his stuff. Funny guy, willing to admit when he's wrong, flexible with the tests...although they are difficult. Tests are made up from lecture notes and reading material, so go to class. He knows his class is difficult, and gives us a few breaks here and there. Overall an awesome professor, and pretty easy on the eyes :)
Dr. Johnson is an awesome teacher. His lectures are very interesting and not text book at all. To do well on his tests you need to come to class and read the book. Actually, even if you do that you probably won't do well on the tests because they're impossible, but since he's so fair he always curves the tests heavily or comes up with an alternativ
Professor Johnson gives excellent lectures. He will teach you a lot of subjects and get you thinking philosophically. The exams are fair b/c of exam reviews and that he is a fair grader.
best prof i have had at ucf great lectures fair grader cares about students
He makes class fun. There is a lot of philosophical stuff, so you should think about that because it can be hard. You'll learn a lot though and he does not give you busywork, which is really good.
it goes from before socrates up to hegel or more hes a great teacher and you know it the discussion is hard a lot but thats philosophy really funny id take him again
He shouldn't be teaching gen. ed. classes. He tries to impress us w/ intense vocabulary & he does not give test reviews even though he claims he does. Majority of the class is failing & he doesn't meet w/ students even after he makes meetings w/ them. Horrible teacher do not take him! First test I ever failed in my 2 years of College-My GPA is 3.8.
so sexy! looks/acts just like johnny depp, first few classes you'll wonder if he came to class under the influence...as for the material- VERY difficult to grasp, no mandatory class attendance, but tests are very challenging- no makeups exams at all, each exam was only 20 questions,fi nal is essay format, great professor, hard class- not an easy A
Do not take any class with this professor. He treats his general education classes like major classes. The majority of his class is failing. I asked to meet with him and he did not show up for our meeting and then never answered my email back. Not very professor like!
worst professor ever...supposedly went to oxford, which would require living in England...yet he doesn't even know who Guy Fox is...he is just not a well rounded teacher.
seems like he speaks just to hear himself, very unorganized and is lost in his own notes 10 min into the class, more than half the class is failing, and im pretty sure he would fail his own test, he tells you all test given are multipule choice but then made the final all essay questions, stay away from his class if you want to learn and pass
My favorite professor.
Easy teacher unless you are stupid or lazy.
The worst professor I have ever had. Over half the class if failing. He gives impossible tests (our second test had a 24 point curve and most still got a bad grade. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
Horrible professor. Completely unaproachable. Tests are rediculous. I'm an A student looking as a D in his class. Dont take him!
We covered the Pre-Socratics, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Anselm, Descartes, Hume, Kant, Hegel, Kierkegaard, Existentialism, and some Pragmatism and Postmodernism. Before this we talked about arguments and criteria and the value of critical thinking in general. He said this was to help us make and evaluate arguments and because some stud
The class was hard but good. He's definitely a different type of teacher..maybe a little eccentric but you end up learning a lot. He does a lot to help you--reviews, curves, lets you know when thinkers are challenging mets with students before class a lot. The book is not that great tho he mostly talks about the main points anyways. :)
An excellent professor for people who are actually interested in the subject matter. If you can't follow along with deeper thought, then avoid his class. I used to live in England and didn't know who Guy FAWKES was until I saw V for Vendetta. GF isn't someone people really talk about in England. Great prof if you're switched on mentally. Looks sort of like an older version of Gerard Way. Very easy to look at.
Warning Introduction to Philosophy was Challenging, with large portions of reading But if you enter his class with an open mind you will learn a large amount and will do well in the class, He is an awesome teacher and does help with major curves
Trig is god take this class definitely too easy for a 2000 level course and he thinks hes teaching at UCF or something Stay I am telling you.
don't take if you dumb
Dont take him if you can help it. He is a really hard teacher and he helped me realize philosophy is a pointless subject He knows what he is talking about but he doesnt know how to relate to people who might not be obssessed with philosophy
don't take him if you want an easy grade or like b**** about having to work or getting confused or suck on the SAT... no high school lists to remember no poster projects no group exercises no movie reviews awesome if you expect college to challenge you and help you get out of the box
humanities was fun we spent a lot of time on the greeks and had to read some classics he is really funny and creative and hot lol
Apparently he went to Oxford University and teaches as though he's still there. This is an introductory class, yet I had the most trouble in this class than in any other class at UCF. His tests are really detailed and concepts in class are difficult to grasp. There's obviously something wrong when he has to curve each test 16 points!!
Really easy for a philosophy class. Funny prof!
Very interesting class, but tests are extremely hard and really no amount of studying can help for them. Do not miss class! Grade is based on 4 tests including the essay final that is pretty ridiculous.
Trig is very interesting. The tests are hard if you miss class or do not study. Would have liked there to be more videos and extra credit chances. He relates the subject to modern culture really good.
We had like four tests and not a lot of homework. He is the best at lectures at UCF so far. Sometimes the class is hard but he gives good curves to keep it fair. He's eccentric but not too far out there and really funny. Knows a lot about different subjects and obviously loves teaching. HOT!
Dr. Johnson gives extremely thorough tests, which require attendance to class, comprehension of the lectures and reading of the text. The class is like an intellectual obstacle course, but he's always willing and available to help you and enlighten you if you allow him to... And yes, he's also insanely sexy. Rawr.
He must love the greeks because he spent most of the time in our humanities class looking at them with a lot on philosophy and art and literature and some music. Yes he is funny and smart and hot like everyone says and takes care of you on tests with curves. Relates well and seems oblivious that babes are drooling over him like a greek god. :)
He was an incredible professor and gave us pretty easy exams if you study for them. He's funny and loves teaching philosophy. I wish he had had more films but he is basically like seeing a film anyway! *LOL*I liked what he did with modern philosophy. We also had some good debates and the weeklky papers were good> Happy Summer!
I'd say he's excellent at philosophy even though this was my only class. He's really into it. Tremendous sense of humor. Sometimes out there like with math comparisons and calculations like rainman. The Plato thing was good and the postmodern thing was too. Book will give you headaches.
go to class, take in depth notes, pay attention and read the book. trig is a bit out there, but he absolutely loves his job and he is sexy as hell tests were a bit hard, but he tells you what to read for them, so just read it. he's always willing to help and explain things after class. a cool guy, great teacher. highly recommended.
Even though I made a B- in his Humanistic Traditions I class, it was really easy. I didn't read the books and still passed with the B. Great teacher and willing to stay after class to help someone. Very passionate about his class. Go to class every day cause he gives lots of extra credit. Read the books and study and you'll do good on his tests.
No homework for this class, very intelligent professor. I really enjoyed his lectures. The tests were harder than expected though. If you pay attention and take good notes a B should come.
He is a very good professor, along with being extremely intelligent. This was the first class I felt like I was actually in college. The tests hard difficult at first, but once you understand what he expects they become easier. Half of the information is from the text, so you will have to read it.
Easy tests and a colorful prof. Book is okay though lectures are better.
His Intro to Philosophy class was amazing. HES SUPER HOTT!!!!! I loved his lectures, they're really interesting. TAKE HIM. It may not be an easy A, but you will learn soooo much. Don't rely on the book, all of his tests are straight from the lecture... take notes- he makes it obvious when you should write something down. oh
i would like him better if he taught an easy subject and then made the exams really easy but he is still great
U learn a lot! U can get an "A" (I did) if U take good lecture notes, follow his guide for reading the book and study. He will help u after class too, but u have to ask. His class is not like high school. He is super smart. He is handsome. He is hot.
i fiugured it would be tough but its pretty easy class for a PHILOSOPHY class like that he inspires u to think about who u and where u r going and what other say about that knows a lot about different subjects and squeezes that into lectures funny and never boring have to work to do good tho
I am an art major and think he was excellent in greek humanities. His philosophy class was not as easy because its more abstract. He is creative, witty and lectures with energy. Obviously a genius and obviously into teaching. Hard to follow sometimes. Good exam study guides. Was available after class and helped.
nice class class because it IS challenging like college should be. you learned HUGE amounts of philosophy over the summer. so that was good. he is ***dreamy*** and very funny :)
Worst professor I have had at UCF. Horrible lectures all over the place. changed test to after withdrawl deadline only giving 1 of 4 tests before. Long lecture class never gets out early. Teacher is awful!
Best professor I have had at UCF. Superb lectures and easy tests. Professor is wonderful!!!
Very Dreamy! Good lectures kinda long... Make sure your awake! tests are a little tricky. I did well on the 1st 90% yet the 2nd 60% ?? Awesome teacher, funny and did I mention Dreamy? attendance isn't mandatory but u need to go to get a good grade.
This is the first time I rate a professor here, so here we go! He exemplifies all that I have admired in previous professors as minds, culture, and people. He is a conscientious teacher, amorphous as he may seem as a thinker, which I think is just as awesome. It's my privilege to learn that he can tell when you're looking up to him. Stay sincere:)
Trig is a really cool guy, he has a good sense of humor and really makes the lectures interesting. The class itself can be tough at times because of the Philosopher's names but just take good notes and study them and you'll be good. If you're going to take a philosophy course pick him!
Lots on Greeks art and Greek philosophy. Exams are easy if you study and go to class. Shines in lectures but sometimes abstract and hard to understand. Main book is okay. He helps you get through Homer and Plato. We also did Dante. Some extra credit.
hes hard to follow and his tests are hard to study for
Prof. Johnson takes hard subject and makes it easy if you study and come to class.
If still on the fence, must urge those considering to take the course. Since taking this course, I have applied many of his teachings to everyday life. If the lectures seem overwhelming, try a pre-class toke and prepare to be blown away. Very sexy mind and vessel to match. Trig rocks my world. Hard.
he's nutty, but i dig it.
he is the best professor that i have had at ucf so far. very dynamic and pours himself into the lectures. is way into teaching and out there a little, but that's kind of what you want for philosophy teacher. subtle humor that is funny but easy to miss. tests were fair. should go to class.
into the greek art and philosophy sexy!!
Very good class. I have not had to work too hard for an "A". He doesn't like to give busy work, and that helps. Makes you laugh a lot. A lot of energy in class and is way into teaching. Insane creativity and easy on the eyes. Fave class outside of ones for my major. =D
He is amazing, honestly don't listen to the b/s because he is the best professor I have had yet at UCF. If you go into the class with an open mind you will be fine. It does take effort but then again it is a COLLEGE class and they are supposed to be a little harder than highschool. Take him if you can, you won't regret it, I know I don't.
challenging class! I had to read the book over and over to understand what they were trying to say and I studied hours and hours just to get a C in the class! If you do take the class be sure to study the notes and book extensively! The final was really hard as well, you had to name all the philosophers and their beliefs! very challenging class!
Do not take this class even if you absolutely must, just dont.. it will burden your semester so much for an elective. Interesting stuff, very englightening and the professor teaches alright, but his testing is just rediculous, worded on an "oxford" level, Good luck passing with a d, I have other 3000 level finance classes that make this look easy

you'd have to be an idiot or lazy to fail the class! no homework, no busywork, no research papers, no pop quizzes, read only 1/3 book, curved exams, open book exam, exam reviews, low grade drop, extra credit! that's hard? lol! boring? yes, if you're braindead. huge energy, golden humor, clear lectures, relatable. easy B, awesome prof. believe it.
Lots of lectures, but easy class. He said final would be on major concepts from major philosophers and that is exactly what he asked us to do. Like the other person said you would have to be typical dumb jock sorority frat type not get this class.
the biggest issue i had with this class is the lack of organization...its not impossible to pass and he curves the exams heavily..he wouldnt need to if he made the wording on the exam straight forward...hes a nice guy he just need help organizing..he knows his stuff and offers e.c at the end of the semester
Best Professor at UCF. Take him.
Lectures are long, pointless, boring, worthless. His tests have nothing to do with what he babbles about for hours in class time. He HAS to curve the tests 20pts because half the class fails. Worst teacher I've had at UCF yet. I would never take him again and advice people to avoid him.
class is sooooooo easy everything in lectures and book is on the tests =D
this was the worst class I have taken so far at UCF. the final exam we were given blank pieces of paper and told to write down all the major philosophers we studied and their beliefs. some of the tests were open note/open book but it didnt help much. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!
its college not high school its philosophy not elementary education
4 exams (3 midterms + 1 final) each worth 25% of the total grade; huge curves on exams because somehow a lot of people do poorly, and he drops the lowest exam (final exam included). Lectures were very disorganized; he would come in and scribble a rough lecture outline on the back of a piece of paper and then begin talking. He offered my class
Overall, he is a good professor, though very different from others that I have had. Tests are are mostly easy if you took very good notes in class and studied them, which can be had since he repeats himself in 20 different ways in class, so its easy to lose focus in lectures. 3 normal tests and one final. Study very well for the final though.
A pretty unconventional teacher so that's good. Very entertaining and good at connecting thoughts with you. Would be nice if he showed more philosophy movies but he is kind of like a movie anyway. :) Boook is okay for philosophy. Tests are pretty easy to study for. Overall excellent for philosophy.
the best teacher i have had in humanities
He is really nice and the lectures are fairly interesting, but it is very important to go to class. The tests were very hard for my class though, even if they're open book open notes!!! Make sure you go to class in order to get a better understanding, and study the notes you take from the lectures!!
Loved him!!!!!!!
Very knowledgeable in subject matter but never answers questions. Often rude to students. His tests are hard and very abstract. Test questions usually werent topics that were emphasized in class. Some tests were open book. Final is comprehensive and you must write about almost every philosopher. It's possible to get an A but it's a lot of hard work
best professor at UCF! Take him!
Loved him for intro to philosophy and loved him in philosophy of love. TAKE HIM!
Had hi9m when I was s a freshman. I now see that the class was excellent and that he was incredible. p.s. study the lectures!
Not an easy "A", but a "B" is very likely. Notes come from class lecture. Tests are half notes and half book reading. No busy work or homework. His lectures sometimes get off topic, but you generally know what will be on a test. He dropped the lowest exam grade and gave extra credit for a voluntary paper at the end of semester. I took him Spring 08
I took him over summer and I actually liked him most of the time. You have to listen, if you don't you are screwed. He can be pretty rude to students, I wouldn't reccomend asking questions during class because he'll say something mean. When he says the test is open book or open note study anyway, the book and notes don't help on those tests i swear
this guy is great, if you like philosophy then you should def take this teacher, sure he may not make sense at times, but he is a philosophy teacher, he's not supposed to!!! very artsy and has a laid back vibe. keep your cells off in class! just read the book and take notes and you will pass for sure with at least a B, if i did, you def will.
Trig is a great teacher who is really interested in helping you learn about philosophy. His lectures can be pretty cool if you are the least bit interested in the subject, but the material is a little tough to get a grasp of if youre not paying attention, just go into it with an open mind. Tests are a combination of lecture and book notes.
Appearence is somewhere between John Malcovich and Johnny Depp, with intelligence & performacne skills rivaling both! His lectures will unlock new neurons in your mind, and then he will DEMAND that you work them out! Dedicated to his craft like an artist, but demands the respect of the professor. In other words, a great joy to learn under- take TJ!
Amazing professor! Amazing lectures! No busy work. Just read what he tells you to. Don't be scared to ask questions. I would take any of his classes in a heart beat!
Understood lectures, but tests were impossible. its like he made stuff up for the tests. great personality though, very welcoming.
Hysterical. Mysterious and at times very very crazy. GREAT personality! Extremely friendly/helpful when you ask questions. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE studying on testing!! Tests are very comprehensive and in DEPTH. Lectures are fun, but be sure to take good notes and read the book. If all is done, this class will be a good part of the day.
Amazing Teacher. Looks exactly like a mix between Hugh Lorie and Johnny Depp. Amazing lectures. You'll always be interested in coming to class. His tests are comprehensive though. Make sure to read the book, in additon to taking notes. And PLEASE FOLLOW the rules he has set in his syllabus.
TRIG JOOOOOOOOOHNSON!
horrrrrrrible teacher. Rambles on and on about useless information and the tests are absolutley impossible to pass. He throws things on there that he might have fleetingly mentioned in class. No matter how much you study the book and the notes its guranteed you arent going to know some of the stuff on the test.
I advise all students that are trying to get a good grade in an elective to drop the class immediately. It is literally impossible to pass the tests with an A even if you study for hours on end. Don't take this teacher unless you want your GPA to drop.
He's awesome and so is the class. Definately a little difficult, but he evens things out with curves. Plus there is very little homework. Do have study seriously for tests, but they are not hard. Like 50% of our class got an A or B on the exams. Very colorful and cares.
We had three tests. Prof. Johnson is a little eccentric and knows alot. He would be perfect if he made the tests easy, but atleast he curves them and he is the best prof I have had so far. Never gives you busywork! He'll get you laughing in class alot if you can get his humor!
Worst teacher i have ever experianced. He is a very smart excentric person and knows all about what he was talking about but is a HORRIBLE teacher. He should not be an educator. He even did not show up for our FINAL exam with no explination.
Extremely boring. You would only be paying to listen to him rant about the world. Very egocentric. He didn't even show up to the final exam.
this guy is one tough cookie. he lectures from no notes and expects you to remember little things he mentions in passing. i will give it to him that he does being up some interesting concepts in class.
To start, this professor is either good or bad based on the individual student and their learning styles. He is disorganized with the lectures, but it isn't as bad as others may say. His lectures are slow developing however and in many lectures he doesn't say much. He does like to hear himself talk though. Tests are difficult but curved.
Worst professor at UCF. I studied so much, attended every class. I got B's (with the curve) on the exams, 100 on the quiz, got points for extra credit. What did I get in this class? C+ (I got A's on all my other classes) maybe he just says he curves not not really does it. who knows. dont take him! your GPA will suffer!!!
Great guy but DO NOT TAKE HIM IN THE MORNING. Idk if he suffered from caffeine withdrawal or something but his lectures were all over the place when he didn't have a mug of coffee with him. He wants his students to pass but his tests were impossibly difficult and I took extensive notes, went to every class, and I still got a C! Textbook was USELESS
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! he doesn't teach from a textbook. The only notes you have are from his lectures...which is very boring. He puts small stuff on his test and expects you to remember everything he says in class...which he talks super fast. His test are so hard, he has to add on a 25pt. curve.
So what? Trig doesn't have carefully construed statements or pretty powerpoint slides? -- I'm baffled by the previous reviews. He's a great professor with a teaching style that's more personal than just using a screen to convey ideas. I learned so much from him this semester. -- Listen to his lectures, ask him questions. Sorry that requires effort.
Trig is a great teacher and very knowledgable especially in philosophy. He gets really deep into thought so paying attention is a must if you want to understand what's going on. Tests are basically 70% lecture and 30% book. Not a hard class. I RECOMMEND HIM!
At first I loved going to this class because he made you look at everything in a different manner. Then we took our tests and nothing was really what we learned. He didn't even show up for the final exam and didn't explain why then a whole bunch of people ended up failing the class unexpectedly. he reminds me of the professor from Animal House
You're an idiot or lazy or both not to make at least a B in his class. 80% of the class did on the exam. Don,t listen to whiners who confuse oxford profs with animal house slobs and probably prefer **** frat slobs over intellectuals. He rocks if you have an IQ. Grow up, come to college and stop pretending class is about play time. Pathetic.
Vey knowledgable about philosophy and cares about the subject, however, tests cover close to NOTHING covered in lectures. There is no text book. I got a B the first test, C the second and an F on the last one. I put alot into this class and my test grades didnt show it, but to my suprise, I got a B overall!
difficult. don't recommend if you want to walk with an A/B. frequently off on a tangent while lecturing and YES he does enjoy to hear himself speak. funny guy, don't get me wrong, but just say no! last exam was strictly essay and in my opinion a hard one. tests..IMPOSSIBLE. good luck to all those optimists!
Awesome. Possibly a god. Would not recommend this professor to just anyone.
Heres for all the confusion: Trig is a teacher who actually cares about what hes saying. He has the experience and has thought deeply into the subjects hes teaching about. He goes off onto tangents..but they all make sense! Listen to what hes saying. If you understand, you understand the subject. The insight gained is worth the rough ride
Awesome speaker. He would be the best if he gave a lot of homework, but still excellent.
Learning history through the arts is stimulating to begin with, but I especially enjoyed it with him. He is eccentric and has a vibrant personality. If you value learning and enjoy thought-provoking classes, Johnson is for you. Attend class, speak your mind, participate in the process, and you will benefit immensely. ;D
THIS PROFESSOR IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD. He is very knowledgeable in the material and his lectures are amazing. His exams are difficult but if you understand philosophy and go to class you will do well. If you actually want an education take Trig Johnson
Trig is seriously awesome. I'm sure other phil prof. are just as quirky as him. Got me so interested in phil and gave me a fresh outlook on life in general. He maybe a little out there,go off into tangents and not answer certain questions clearly but phil is all about letting your mind wander off and carried away with crazy ideas! his tests are lit
Really interesting class to take; this is teacher that definately cares about what he is teaching he makes you look at life in a different way and question different thing he is definately unique teacher and definately recommend taking this class with him
Ver knowledgable about the subject. Sometimes does weird things and talks with hands a lot. Three tests that are semi difficult. Do well on the pop quizzes (only three or so, not bad). All lectures and a bit unconventional. No homework. Good teacher overall
trig is an incredibly entertaining prof. he could easily be a lead in films or professional theater if you closely watch what he is really up to in class. hot too. he should leave ucf and go for better things!
trig is an incredibly entertaining prof. he could easily be a lead in films or professional theater if you closely watch what he is really up to in class. hot too. he should leave ucf and go for better things!
Do not take this teacher. His tests are really hard and he covers more philosophers than other teachers do which means more information to know on his already hard tests. I am an A/B student and got a D in his class even after doing his extra credit!
smart and seeeeeeeexxxxxxyyyyyyyyy!!!! good book
Just got done taking him. I took the class for an easy gep and was surprised at its difficulty. But I adjusted to it. Take very detailed notes and read the text and you should be alright. He did manage to bring some interesting concepts up during the course of the lecture. I would not reccomend this class to a freshman who is just starting college.
A lot of interesting ideas in the class. He knows a lot about a lot of things. Take good notes. Book is good.
Best yet
Imagine if Johnny Depp and Albert Einstein got together and made a love child. That basially sums up Trig Johnson. The guy is brilliat, charismatic and hilarious. His class is always entertaining and exciting. Hes a teacher that truely cares about his subject and his students. TAKE HIS CLASS SERIOUSLY! If you enjoy the subject you will enjoy Trig.
THE BEST!!! super sexy!! The class is definetly a little intense!!
Horrible professor
i loved this class and professor trig is phenomenal. you can get an a in the class but you have to pay close attention and be smart
Oxford University grad. Very very smart. Good at connecting thoughts. Creative. Not an ordinary teacher. Don't take if you get confused easily or expect your teacher to hold your hand or give you cheap points.
i originally signed up for this class w another professor & then UCF switched teachers. He is rude, tests are random stuff he never mentioned in class, & he flat out told our class he did not care about us. I have a 3.6 GPA and will probably get a D in his class. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
This guy gives the most ridiculous tests I have ever taken. I am smart, and a good student, and I got a C in his class, even after the extra credit. Tests are sort of like...how do you think this guy from 2000 years ago FELT. IDFK!!! Some classes were interesting to go to, especially if you are flying. Not an easy A, probably wont boost your GPA
He is an okay professor. His lectures can be confusing because he rambles on and on about weird examples. He definitely wants you to know your philosophers. His tests are hard. I studied really hard and got a 71 on the 1st test. The 2nd test was open book and open notes though it was still hard. Final is cumulative. Can be rude to students. No hwk
Very rude. Grade is only made up of three tests. Tests are difficult. I don't recommend.
You learn a lot. You get an education. Don't take if SAT is less than 1250.
Entertaining show. I enjoyed the class, learned a lot. Pretty good organization of material. Take VERY good notes, even things that don't seem important. Tests are pretty tricky. Again, take good notes. Helpful outside of class too. Would take him again.
NO, NO , NO, NO , NO , NO , NO . do NOT take this class unless you'd like to kill your precious little gpa. I'll give it to him, the man is brilliant, but there are only 3 tests and they're extremely tricky and difficult. save yourself the trouble and take survey of rock. He should not be teaching an INTRO to philosophy class.
DO NOT TAKE. Should not be teaching an intro to PHI class. Tests are completely unfair, and never matched how much content there was to study. like 22 extremely tricky questions on 3 tests. Of course he knows what hes talking about, hes a professor. Attendance not mandatory, no HW, but i guarantee there are WAY better philosophy professors at ucf
excellent professor for maybe the hardest subject in college. final exam was easy. proba. probably half our class finished it with a lot of time left. read a lot like everyone says. everything he says will be on the exams is on them but you have to think deeply. do not take if you somehow expect philosophy to be an easy gpa boost.
DO NOT TAKE- If you think this will be an easy INTRO class. Teacher should not be teaching and intro class. He's great I was totally interested in the material but the three tests and mediocre notes will not get you through this.
3rd comment down makes no sense. yes he knows his stuff but his teaching method is terrible. he makes the students uncomfortable, thinking it will facilitate more learning. it didn't. i think students learn best when they are in a comfortable environment. tests were tricky, and unfair. DO NOT TAKE I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE, save yourself the stress
Trig's method of teaching our class involved him pretending to be a angry spiteful professor the likes of which you'd see in a bad comedy central movie with evil professor archetypes. By the time Trig divulged to the class that he was just method acting the class was so intimidated of him that our grades ultimately suffered for it. Tests are HARD!
Trig is awesome!! It is definitely a hard class, but completely worth it. All the people who say they didn't like must not have tried at all. The tests were extremely easy, and his "mean professor" approach worked very well with my class and we all found it humorous. I would recommend him.
He is very smart, knowledgeable teacher, but he should not be teaching an introduction class. There were 3 tests, 20-22 questions each and were very difficult. Average test grade around me was in the 60s. Some questions contradict his notes. Another philosophy teacher said not to take him and I should have listened. Recommend for upper classes only
The class itself is interesting but he is an awful teacher. He doesn't care about his students success showed up late to class constantly, and would send emails right before class saying it is canceled. When he actually gave notes, which was very rare, they were extremely unorganized. AVOID HIS CLASS!
Interesting teacher made the class interesting. Rarely late, but when he was he cared enough to at least write and not leave us in the dark like other professors. You learn a lot.
He's ridiculously intelligent, entertaining, and passionate - he's hard, though. You've got to really understand the material, due to the forever-present "none of the above." 75% of tests is from lectures, 25% from textbook. No homework.
There is no denying that he is a very smart professor but his class is extremely hard, he is also not very helpful at explaining the material. If you were hoping to get an A I would look somewhere else.
Smart teacher for smart students.
connects well with you. the best teacher I have had at ucf. huge energy passion and humor. he is sometimes a little out there but usually he is not too far out there. great speaker and a rain man with math which maybe youll get to see. study books and notes closely. sometimes problems need inferences to solve
This class is not easy. His lectures are really boring unless you are totally interested in philosophy and you have to write EVERYTHING he says. The test is mostly about lectures and partly the book. Only reason i got a B is because he dropped the lowest test grade and gave an extra credit essay. Randomly takes attendance so you have to go. no hw!
This guy is impossible. I thought I was doing fine in his class and then BAM i got a C in his class. His lectures are interesting, but the tests are so subjective and unclear. Maybe the subject is just not right for me (Im a chemistry major) but unless you are really good at deciphering ambiguous material, I would take a different "filler" class.
Ok here's the honest opinion. Trig was my first prof at UCF last summer and the first 2 weeks he acted really intimidating but it was an act, he then became super nice! But I tell you it's totally worth it. The man is a genius and truly explains the theories. Write down everything in lectures! I got an A, do the last paper! amazing prof!
By far the best teacher of my entire educational career. The first week of class he appears to be a total a**hole but as time goes on you learn not to take it personal. He tends to go off on crazy tangents during lectures but he is extremely smart. I suggest any class he teaches because he has a passion for learning that I have never seen before.
I think that Prof Trig is extremely intellectual and knowledgeable but I felt that his class was a disaster. His test questions were poorly worded, vague, or ambiguous. Chooses random questions, difficult to prepare. 3.9 in HS/3.4 at UCF but failed my first class in this 2010 level course which completely disinterested me in majoring in philosophy.
Don't take if you are looking to play high school. Don't take if you confuse your imprecision with subject ambiguity. Don't take if you measure the subject's worth according to your gpa. Don't take if you are stupid.
attendance is mandatory! spent a lot of class time showing videos . can be somewhat rude to students. three tests and an EC paper. not a bad class but he seemed to care more about his other classes than ours
Prof Trig talks in circles, He's a nice guy sometimes but his class is so confusing. I never got below a B in high school, graduated with a 3.9 Gpa and did horrible in his class.
This guys class is insanely HARD, I beg of you do not take this class, ACtually Take this class because it would be nice to see others suffer as I did. Spending hours of studying and not getting higher than a C. His test are just impossible
This is not an easy course. He makes it clear the first day of class as well, so everyone is warned. If you're just trying to fulfill your gen-ed classes, i wouldn't recommend this class. If you actually need this course, PAY ATTENTION TO HIS LECTURES. Tests aren't easy, dont overhink the questions.
A couple of people said he is a high priest in some mystery religion. I once saw him practically hypnotize atleast half the class very quickly with a lecture. Freaky. He is powerful. But he seemed to teach all the religions farily and did not push any beliefs. Pay attention to lectures or exams will kill you!
Trig Johnson is a genius, the guy is an amazing teacher, but this class is very hard. Even if you read the material thoroughly and pay attention in class it is very difficult, but a very worthwhile experience.
I dont know why everyone keeps saying his class is so hard and his tests are impossible. As long as you keep good notes and at least go over the sections in the book his tests were very easy i found. The only thing i can think of is that students get intimidated by his vocabulary and immediatly tune out of the lectures.
He's a really good professor and philosopher (although it may get frustrating that his opinions are muddled on certain topics), but you should watch out for his Mahayana Buddhist monk scream. If you're not interested in challenging your assumptions about the world, and in justifying your ethical/metaphysical beliefs, then this class isn't for you.
trig is the best combination of intelligence looks and creativity for professors at ucf be sure to focus on the lectures! b+ :)
Ok so the man goes off on rants on some things, and he sure does like to teach what he wants, not what the class was about. Very hard class. Attendence isn't mandatory,, but you really need to show up if you want to get a semi decent grade.
Attendance is mandatory, like the syllabus says. You would be stupid not to show up for his philosophy class, if you expect to make a good grade, like he suggests. Tests are on the things he teaches. Passionate about the subject, not robotic.
its like oxford university meets lady gaga. the lecture performance is usually deep brilliant and beautiful but the afterparty exam can hurt. you must take detailed copious notes to have a chance at acing the class.
He's great. He simplified phi to its essence, and explained it clearly.Listen to him carefully, do not try to write down every word, and most importantly do not assume phi is easy if it's not forced at you. This class will change you as a thinker if you care enough to change.
Would not recommend this teacher for an introductory level course. Other philosophy classes are much easier if you are concerned about your GPA.
I would not recommend him. We had 3 tests and an optional final. If you took the final it would replace your lowest grade, if you bomb the final he would count it as 1/4 of your grade. I was not into philosophy before or after his class. I thought his oughtness was annoying. Making an A isnt impossible but I am sure you can get a better professor.
Excellent, though challenging exams. Exam material covered lecture material very well, but the details can be difficult. Great energy in class as a professor and obviously knows philosophy and several related subjects excellently. Highly abstract. Probably not the best class for a freshman and/or for students not willing to work who expect A's.
Professor Trig Johnson is a genius. He is the only professor at UCF who teaches classes in humanities and philosophy and religion. So you definitely get educated in his classes. But they can be hard and you MUST focus in his classes like you really are in college. I got "B's" in two different classes with almost maximum effort. Good sense of humor.
Brilliant professor, great lectures. Can be abstract when he gets into philosophy. Great sense of humor. Tests are horrible...sometimes they contained questions irrelevant to the lecture/reading material, or questions were too specific! If you care only about your GPA, don't take this teacher, but if you want to learn, he's the guy for you.
Yes he does stand in front of the class and lecture, but the teachings are extremely difficult compared to other philosophy classes. His tests are also extremely difficult and your entire grade is based on 3 tests and that is all. I would not recommend him to anyone!
Spectacular lecturer. You do have to study for tests, but duh it's college and they are not as bad as some people say. Does not play high school. Does not give silly assignments. Does not let class time and your tuition money be wasted with student chattering, bad philosophizing, aimless arguing, student presentations. In return, you MUST think.
Professor Trig is by far the most brilliant person I have ever met. His class is incredibly hard, I am a straight A student and am proud of my B. Find another professor if you are looking for a gimme grade, but if you have the drive he will give you the experience of a lifetime.
EXTREMELY hard class. Lectures are long and he often goes off track for a long time. Tests are VERY specific, and many questions didn't even seem to come from the lectures OR text. Very hard if you mess up just one test, only 3 tests total. I sent him many emails, and he didn't seem to care about me or my grade either.
While Trig may be an interesting professor, he is not the most helpful or clear on what he expects in his lectures. He goes off on tangents and does not really lecture on what will be on the 3 tests that make up your entire grade. You really have to study to earn a grade higher than a C. And he is terrible at emailing and resolving grade issues.
Five tests, three quizzes and up to almost a full letter grade of bonus credit. All grades posted online and curved up.
His tests are rediculously hard. Just study EVERYTHING.
Imagine House. Imagine House teaching Intro Bio students most of whom must take the class for credit. That's Intro. Phil. Trig is brilliant. Trig is an awesome lecturer. No doubt. But you better be smart and work hard or you'll be confused, you'll kill your grade, and you'll be here one day, slamming House and his class for being a poor experience.
You'll do well when you realize this's more than just another class. But once you do, you won't care as much about your grade anymore. People take the chains off and look at the light.
Most brilliant professor at Valencia. Sense off humor is distinguishable. The tests are hard and can be specific. However, in most cases he will curve accordingly. If you can survive his class you can do any class, but you will not learn 1/3 of what you learn in one sitting with Trig.
Professor Trig is the best teacher that I have had at UCF. I love that he knows so so much and is so hilarious. He is also very handsome! ;)
He's a decent teachers, but like many other people said study EVERYTHING. His tests are ridiculously hard
Took him this summer. The best speaker that I have ever heard. Professor Trig mesmerizes the class at will! Hard but fair tests and grading. Good looking with nice tennis player legs. No complaints!
The class is interesting but very hard. I took art history in high school so i already knew alot of humanitites but his tests are VERY HARD! Studying your notes on movies and lectures is never enough. There is no real way to be completely ready for his tests. They are very specific. DONT take this class if you want a GPA booster!!!!!
He is very handsome. That's undeniable. However, his tests are crazy hard. You have to write down everything he says. Even with studying those notes, there's a possibility of you getting a C on the test. He goes off on tangents & isn't clear for the most part. Curves tests & comprehension test is questions from all past tests word for word.
His class is an experience. His lectures are long but very interesting. It is very important you write down everything! The tests are quite difficult because they're not just about memorizing things, but making sure you understand the material. He goes off on confusing tangents sometimes. But I'm glad I took the class. PS: He's very attractive! ;]
very sexy.:D reminds you of johnny depp sometimes! he also has this supernatural presence thing to him. youll feel it in the lectures (he is the best lecturer ever). he focuses a lot on concepts, maybe too mucg. Take very very good notes!
His class genuinely is not that difficult, but is still very interesting. All you need to do to do well on his tests are attend class and pay attention to his lecture. The book is little to no help, I personally wouldn't buy it if I could do it over. Interesting topics, not very difficult. And he does have a Johnny Depp thing going on. Take him.
so a guy has done shows with radiohead and people think he is good looking and think he is smart and all that. what matters is if he is a good teacher or not! prof trig is GREAT because his lectures are great almost every time. you learn. period. he has the IT factor.
Too smart to teach, rambles. I managed to scrape a B out of the class, and it was pretty fun. Go to every class, and always take notes, even if you don't think it's important. He almost never used the book over the summer, and the tests were easy. All in all a pretty good prof I can recommend.
classic. so are his famous lectures. does dig deep into topics..take a lot notes or fail! way way smart and hilarious when he wants to be. *handsome* you must take him to get the full ucf experience
High standards. Usually delivers superior lectures and usually demands a superior performance on tests in return for a superior grade. 4 tests and opportunities for bonus points.
yes, professor trig shines in class with those *stellar* lectures! tests are also spot on, but not so easy b/c of subtle/fine distinctions. must must must pay very close attention in class! still he helps you a lot w/outs & huge bonus opportunities and small curves. very fair. also helpful after class if you can get him. i LOVE how he teaches! :D
The man is a genius and his lectures are indeed stellar, but his exams are nothing to be happy about. They were harder to study for than chemistry. If you're looking for an easy gen. ed., don't even bother. He gives extra credit and is always willing to meet up during office hours to answer any question.
he is very smart and handsome. he has the best lectures. he is hard and deep but you love it.
He is one of the most popular teachers at UCF. His lectures are really good. He is my favorite professor outside of science. He can be so funny! He is one of a kind!
Class notes are critical and its best to study with a partner to make sure you cover EVERYTHING. Not an easy class...half the class dropped at the withdrawal deadline. Only five 20-multiple-choice-question tests that the final grade was based upon. Class is somewhat interesting in the beginning...not in the end. Wouldn't recommend the class or prof
It was an excellent class but it definitely got more complex over the semester. Our final grade was not based on 1 test(?) but on 5 tests.. plus a big bonus paper. Tests were reasonable and sometimes curved. A LOT of abstract thought! Probably not an easy B for many people. Deep lectures. Definitely take if you can think and study for yourself.
POWERFUL POWERFUL lecturer. Definitely knows what he is doing in class! You have to take a lot of notes. A good professor.
He is the best teacher. No doubt. He teaches better than the teachers who are teaching me to teach. The tests are also more advanced than education classes.
his lectures. out of this world. the best. handsome. sizzles. the tests? no fun at all! dont miss class! do all bonus if you get some
The summer class I took flowed nicely and was usually really good. The professor was the best part! SCaRY AWESOME lectures. He is so spectacular at so many levels. And handsome!!
Great lectures but hard material and tests
I rate the professor as awesome because he is penetrating. I rate his material as being hard.
Disorganized, the test are made to trick you. Focus more on notes and what he says than the actual course material
This guy is very smart, but very condescending. I had no issues understanding the lectures or the books, but his tests are so stupid and EXTREMELY tricky. Offers few opps for bonuses, TAKE THEM because he has 4 tests and a bonus paper that make the grade. He rambles but it's still informative. Go to class and study till your eyes bleed for grade>C.
Had Trig for 2 classes..philosophy,humanities. AWESOME lecturer both times. He will blow your mind! Seriously. Easy B if you're locked in. Go bonus for the A.
You see why the guy has a rep as one of the great teachers at UCF! His lectures are epic. Sometimes even hilarious. But even when he is on it, you still have to deal with the fact that philosophy is still so tough! Abstract subject! Study!!!!!!
This class changed my attitude from not caring about humanities to thinking that it is pretty good. Trig knows the subject and is good at making it interesting! He's a very good teacher. :)
I took his class Fall of 2011 and still have dreams about him. Mesmerizing. Undeniably attractive. A little full of himself. Possible the smartest person I've met. Attendence is Mandatory. Tests are hard. For an A I would suggest reading the text then coming to class as he tends to ramble.
He is a wizard literally. A very powerful, very smart and very attractive one. He sees into things. He sees into you. Come to him and find life.
i love that you can see him playing baseball or wiffle ball sometimes (serious skills btw). cool points for that..for being connected. for classic lectures too. but dude you must study for a C!
The class is very good. The tests are a little hard but they usually have a curve. The professor is incredible. He makes the class. Take him!
I don't understand how he can get so many good ratings. I had him my first semester of freshman year and his lectures were boring, tests extremely hard, and he was very rude. I am a straight A student and his class was the first and only D I ever received. I even did the extra credit...
B+ junior year. definitely 2000 level. easy c, doable b. a lot of personality! looks too. would take again.
Interesting class, great lecturer. Tests can be tricky so make sure you study everything. To get an A, do the optional paper and final exam. The exam is just all the questions verbatim from the previous tests, so make sure you check to see what you got correct. Doable A.
idk how he can get good reviews. the class is good but he is not an easy prof at all! take with someone else!
Good class and Trig is an awesome lecturer. Tests are alright. He reminds me a lot of Johnny Depp. <3
It sounds crazy, but I he has *supernatural* power. Serious, you will feel it on you sometimes in lectures. I love his personality. Mesmerizing. I hate his tests! :(
Toward the end of the year we had a paper due worth 20% of our grade. I didn't understand what he was asking for so I emailed him... 3 times. He responded 2 weeks later after it was due, and I failed the paper. He was completely unhelpful the entire year.
Very good class. He's a dynamic lecturer! He's very helpful and helps with a bonus paper and quizzes and after class. You need to go to class to stay informed, because the lectures are usually intense and take good notes.
This was the worst class ever! If you're a science/analytical thinker, do not take this class. The professor goes off on tangents and you have to infer what the he's talking about a majority of the time. The book was hardly used, and when it was, we were not informed to read the book b/c questions might appear on the test. End paper is extra credit
This was MY FAVORITE CLASS actually!> I LOVE him! His lectures r UNREAL! The class ISN'T THAT HARD. B! Maybe if you cant THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX? He is a little out there! Duh Oxford England! And lmao it is easy to know what to read for EVERY test. Just read the syllabus nerds!
Okay, if you believe the purpose of education is to actually educate individuals then your gonna want to take this class. Stop BSing yourself, pull up your panies, and FOCUS. That's what his classes are all about. If you focus, you'll understand what is really being said. You don't have to be a genius to pass you just have to be willing to learn
Was so excited to take this class but it was terrible. Went to class most of the time, took extensive notes, and the best I got on an exam was an 80. He kind of rambles sometimes and is difficult to understand and comes off as being rude. Wish I would've withdrawn.
Great professor, very good class, decent tests.
An interesting, thought provoking class taught by a witty, slightly insane professor.
Great professor! No complaints except that the class couldbe a little easier!
Love the teacher however his grading even makes Aristotle shake his head. Aimed for an A all year, got a depressing B.
Okaaay Where to begin with Trig Johnson...he is everything a professor should be and the closest thing to a modern philosopher I've encountered. If you are a philiosophy or psychology major TAKE HIM! Tests are not easy but I've never learned so much in a class. If you want a class that will show you what college should really be about, take his.
Read the headings & listen to the breakdown of the lecture to know what you're being tested on. If you're looking for it, he'll push you outside of your comfort zone and take away your safety blanket. He has the ability to make you a great thinker, but you'll work for it. Remember: great teachers are never easy and great students are never lazy
Very interesting in lecture, funny too, though be warned his tests are not a walk in the park. If you pay attention during class and truly take at LEAST 3 or 4 hours to study before the test you should be fine.
His lectures are excellent. He's very appealing as a professor. The class has good structure and decent prompts. There are 4 tests.
I recommend UCF students to take this class b/c you won't find a teacher like this anywhere else. The class is based on 4 tests & a bonus paper. His tests are tricky and a little challenging if you dont pay attention to the lectures. Read textbook couple times, take good notes from the lecture, and google to help you understand the materials.
Even though Trig is rated the hottest professor at UCF this class is not easy. I had to do extra credit just to barely get a B and almost made a C. He is very good but do definately do EC paper and anything else he gives you!
I was so excited to take Philosophy, and this class made it really difficult. He had his lectures, which were interesting every now and then, but his exams were pretty hard, which were a big chunk of your grade. He never mentioned attendance, but after getting a D on the final, he threw in all these absences that counted for a grade.
the class is good and the professor is pretty awesome. don't miss this class or you will get lost and do poor. plus he keeps his attendance policy that is mentioned on the syllabus
He summarized main events in philosophy well. If you are open minded he will get you off your cruise control in some areas of your life. Pre med students beware! Your gpa and believes will be changed. Take care fellow zombies and the best of luck in this economy. Chiao ;)
He's an adjunct for a reason, serving little to no use for a student who is philosophically equipped with basics or more. Those of you that are enamored by him would do well to analyze him further. You may find him less impressive if you recognize his petty over-complications. A large portion of his lecturing is is wasted on his self-glorification.
Oxford University grad. Teaches 3 subjects. Genius. Very popular. Happily, he emphasizes phil basics, does speak clearly, and does expect thinking precision......as you'd expect in intro phil. You'll dislike it though, if your brain struggles with the merely basic and thinks the course very difficult. It's not hard. Helpful also with bonus points!
He's an interesting guy, but his class stinks. He lectures on such deep and profound topics but tests you on surface level irrelevant nonsense. Tests are written very tricky and the majority isn't based on lectures or notes. He's like House meets Johnny Depp & class is interesting but it starts to suck when it doesn't help you on the test.
Totally great class. He is deep and very stimulating usually, but still gives you pretty easy tests. So you get what you want! Makes class intersting and he is intriguing. Those are bonuses. And bonus points for grade. And rated the hottest professor at UCF! ;) TAke him!
I had no idea what to expect day one, but I am quite happy with the outcome. In my opinion, he gives engaging lectures and is extremely knowledgable in the humanities, especially early Philosophy and Aesthetics. Attendance wasn't required but I found that I Enjoyed going to class, and all of his test material is in his lectures. Great teacher!
Trig is a wonderful professor. Really entertaining professor, loves philosophy, and does everything in his power to make you love it too. He doesn't post anything online, so taking good notes are extremely important, as he teaches away from the book as well. His tests are challenging but if you take good notes you will be fine. Take this professor
He makes the lectures interesting, but attendance is MANDATORY and if your note-taking skills are anything but superior, the tests can be pretty hard.
Trig is exciting. He is excellent at teaching. You'll come to love him and coming to class. Take very good notes.
Professor Johnson taught me world religions and philosophy. Comparative ethics, epistemologies, soteriology, hermeneutics, theology and a lot on religious experience. He is one of my favorite teachers. You learn a lot in his class. He gives the best lectures.
I like his lectures a lot. He can be very playful and hilarous in the lectures! Like when he does parodies about teaching and plato or impersonations. He's a little out there for sure. Grades are fair, but tests are a little hard. I like the class because you learn a lot. :)
I am a philosophy major and know that Trig blows away all of my philosophy teachers. He is incredible. Take him.
Polymath! Brilliant! Big gorgeous lectures and he really knows how to own the stage. You'll learn a lot. Take him!
Seriously Trig should be in *Hollywood*. He is talented. Reminds you a lot of Depp or Downey Jr. Witty. Out there. A little eccentric. Great sense of humor. Ok the class is a little hard but the teacher is classic so who cares.
He is an inspiring teacher! I became a humanities major because of his class! Take good notes!
I strongly recommend him. Trig is smart, hilarious and VERY entertaining. He is a little difficult but he is also good at explaining what you need to know for the test. Attendance is a must to do well.
The professor was awesome I enjoyed his class. Trig lived up to his rep as a genius with a 170 I.Q. This man is a phenomenal teacher. He is gorgeous too like I expected since he is rated the hottest prof at UCF. Ok, beauty and brains for days! BUT maybe he could make the class easier? I studied SO hard for a B! For an intro class! :'(
Great professor, great personality, great vibe. Reminds me a lot of Richard Feynman! Class is not hard if you always focus. Definitely recommend.
Legit. Love his lectures and respect that he does not give into grade inflation for his popularity, high ratings, etc. But you do have to work because he doesn't cave and his class is not for slackers.
Maybe a litle hard, but he is definitely worth it. Knows his aesthetics! VERY creative thinker and almost always has a smile on his face. Nice guy and very funny.
This guy is a GREAT philosophy teacher. Close attention and you will be fine. Slack, and it will probably hurt.
Took him for an upper-level aesthetics class "Philosophy and Creativity". He was great. Very in touch with philosophy, art and culture.
Take him if you can get into his class. You will love his lectures and having your mind blown. Like a lot of people say, there is no teacher who teaches like him. His class is an experience. and Trig is like some profound force of nature. He stimulates you.
He is a Professor who really cares about his students and really wants everyone to get into philosophy. Lectures are long but Professor Johnson's lectures are interseting. Be sure to take notes and study those. He tends to get upset when the class isn't reading and doing their homework.
He is a great aesthetics teacher!
Took his class, becuase he is so popular. Grades were mostly tests with papers and bonus. It was a challenging class sometimes but not crazy hard. Probably will not need the book that much. He is a great speaker and fascinating to listen to. He should star in the movies, if he ever stops teaching.
Trig is a professor who loves the sound of his own voice. If you share his opinions, he will grade you high but I didn't feel there was much room for different views than his own. He's hot but knows it.
He is a phenomenal teacher. He is very intelligent and very handsome. He is the best.
He is great teacher, but a little on the tough side. Maybe if backed off on Kant and Hegel! Love his style and method. Good prof.
He is a awesome religion teacher. A lot of the focus is on religious beliefs.
The classic prof and a very good high level phil class. His lectures were my favorite. Would retake.
Professor Johnson is remarkable. He is a genius and he is funny. But he is not easy and you should study hard. He helped a lot of students after class. He is nice.
Dr. Johnson is extremely personable/hilarious. He is extremely knowledgeable (and is very aware of his intelligence). If you take him you MUST go to class. Tests are based off the lectures and the book notes. He does not assign homework so you must do well on tests. He hands out easy bonus points. Overall, he's a great guy and a great teacher.
I never thought that Johnny Depp would be the best lecturer ever.
Winner who now teaches for 2018 National Football Championship's winners.
