Troy Bogino is amazing! His main goal for teaching this class is to make his student's pass. He's a great teacher and really does care abotu the students. He understands that things happen. He makes Comm 250 fun, which I never thought was possible.

Troy is exuberant, fast-paced and sticks to the material you need to pass the class. He enjoys teaching and is very helpful when it comes to confusion about assignments, etc. I wish I could take him for more classes; the guy's an excellent educator.

The guy took me by surprise. He is a great individual. He is willing to make time for helping his students. I never thought that this class could be fun. Just a really good guy. He is mostly interested in helping his students pass the class. Take this class if you have the opportunity.

Troy is a really great person- funny and likable. He wants everyone to pass the class, so he makes sure you know the most important stuff. Not a hard greater and is very forgiving. But listen to him when he lectures and take notes-- believe me, if you do poorly, it'll be your own fault, not his.

OMG!Troy owns my soul. Comm 250 is a diffucult required course that makes or breaks comm majors. but Troy is very helpful and makes it clear for his students.Its also helpful that he himself is a grad student so he is looking out for his fellow students. Highly recomended, and you will take away a lot from 250.Word of advice: he loves peanut m&ms;)

This professor is by far the best professor ever! 250 is supposed to be a very hard course but he teaches you everything you will need to know...he is the best!

Take this class, don't bother taking it with anyone else, he really doesn't beat around the bush with nonesense...THE MOST CHILL professor i've had in a longggg time!... TAKE HIM, he basically tells you what you need to know for the exams...I was dreading this class, but it totally turned out to be so easy, but i still learned.

He made Comm 250 fun, while still teaching us everything we needed to know to do well in the class. The course material was difficult, but with Troy the class actually became interesting. He is pretty cute too!

If you want to make it through COMM alive, take Troy first! Sadly he will be gone after this semester, but he's going out with a BANG! Troy teaches in a style every student can relate to. He makes himself one of the students and does so well at it. His teaching style is brilliant and fail-safe, and I hope he'll change his mind and stay at GMU.

If it’s true that he is leaving GMU…the school has lost one of its finest professors because Troy is an exceptional teacher that lessons will most definitely go beyond the classroom.

The chillest professor you will ever have! He somehow found a way to take what should have been a very difficult class and change it to one you don't really spend that much time on until the last couple weeks of the semester. Exams are easy (he gives study guides and he stays pretty true to them), he allows you to turn things in late. Great guy!

Troy is a great professor. The class is so relaxed. The class is basically all just giving speeches. Only two or three 10min quizes (at most). I would highly recomend Mr. Bogino. Great class and great professor. He tells the funniest stories in class too! haha

I took this class at 9 am on Saturday,but he is so funny and made the class so interesting. At the last class of the semester, I really felt that I have already missed him. Most chill dude ever! Doesn't care if you miss class as long as you give your speech eventually (don't overdo it though because attendance is 15% of your grade). Easy grader, there were some terrible speeches in my class that got A's. Quizes are easy, open book and online. Easy class, relaxed professor, do not hesitate taking him!!!

Prof. Bogino taught me since Spring 2008 and was more than a friend to me. He ultimately developed me as a person, eliminated my self-defeating personality, and was understanding to personal problems. More than that, he was inspirational, humorous, and a great teacher. Wished he was my father because he always knew how to get his message across.

Troy is the perfect professor for a COMM100 class. He is laid back and easy going, making his students comfortable to speak and to deliver speeches in his class. I saw a great improvement on the quality of speeches in many classmates. I learned a lot from him in a very natural and cool way.

Very easygoing. Come to class, try, you'll get an A. If you're undisciplined, you may not get much from this class, but if you read the book and try on your presentations, you will LOVE this class! Troy is a MASTER at public speaking and will put you at ease. Experts can learn from him, and beginners can learn from him. Textbook is good but pricy.

Professor Bogino is the best! Class is discussion based/lecture, which makes it easy and fun to learn. The whole class is involved. The topics were interesting. Two exams, two papers. Take his class!!! Coolest guy ever.

Coolest Prof ever, tells you personal stories to make the material fun. Is so lenient with grades, even quizzes and tests. He warns you before tests and lets you correct almost everything. Almost always get out early. But his class is still intellectual! Troy is the man.

Completely and utterly recommend him for Public Speaking. He is really funny and chill about everything. All you do is make some speech every other week and he will give you an A. All he cares about is that you learn stuff and get experience in public speaking.

Very quirky, but makes the class interesting. Aspect to be picked first but relax he's a very easy grader and if you screw up a little it's know big deal. Very fun and it's worth the effort.

The class is an easy A, however I didn't learn much from Troy. He has a laid back style that won't help you grow in communications. He talks WAY too much about golf, bartending, and frats. The class is a total joke. But if you want an easy A go for it.

Professor Bogino is the best instructor you could ever have. He really makes you feel comfortable and confident speaking in public. I really learned a lot from his class and I will miss his sense of humor that makes the class fun. He also cares about his students and want them to be successful. Highly recommended.

If you want to pass Comm and not have to work... pretty much at all.. then take him. I didn't really like him all that much, but it was a really easy class. I didn't really learn anything.. but again, easy class.

Troy was great. A lot of people take advantage of him due to his laid back attitude, but if you show up to class you will learn how to speak in public, mostly through experience. Most of his classes are him talking about golf for a while before he covers a topic for a very short period of time.

A bit awkward sometimes, but out of humor. Seems to care about students, not too hard not too easy. Great speaker who gives great advice.

This class is one of those classes that you get what you put into it. If you try to become better at public speaking, you'll certainly get there. If you are looking for more of a show up and pass class, this is the class! At the end of the day it's all up to you, and you'll probably still end up with an A. If he's available, definitely pick him.

Professor Troy is really good at the subject. he makes his students feel comfortable with stage anxiety and public speaking. showing up to class is essential just because it shows that you care and theres a 60 point participation that comes to play. as far as the book goes all you need are the evaluation sheets so try sharing one with a friend.

He is the greatest professor at this subject. He is fair to the students and very funny. I was worried to take Public Speaking class but he made students to feel more comfortable. I would definitely recommend taking his class! VERY EASY A comm class if you have him!

when I found out comm class was required I was kind of nervous at first but after taking Troy's class I became a better communicator&speaker.I definitely recommend him, he gives great lectures, great feedback, responds to emails on time, and he cares for his students. The assignments are simple, there are no quizzes/midterm exam, only a final exam.

Professor Bogino is phenomenal. He truly cares about his students and wants to them to pass in every way possible. Make sure you do the assigned PTP's, IPC journal entries, write all three papers, research your topic for your speech thoroughly, AND work hard on the group project. As long as you do all of those things you will pass with an easy A.

He is super chill, you can get away with missing a few assignments, but have to make up in larger projects. EZ grader

There's a lot of busy work in comm101 but all students do the same thing. except prof Troy gives so many extensions and tries to give everyone As, he's super understanding and even with skipping many classes he wont dock too many participation points. he's funny and engages his students, overall super amazing 100% take him you wont regret it

Prof. Bogino is a great professor. His lectures are easy and funny. Majority of learned information will come from the textbook, but its not bad if you stay focused. He has a easy grading criteria. Just follow the rubric and you will end up with a high grade. Allows some assignments to be submitted a few days after the due date. Super chill.

I would definitely recommend Prof. Troy. He's a cool and fun guy. The course is structured to have many assignments and projects, but if you need help, he is accessible and respectful.

Amazing professor--he takes the time on the first day of class to remember everyones names and continues to ask how everyone is doing throughout the semester. I don't think I've gotten less than an A on any of my assignments. There are a lot of assignments but nothing is too hard.

Dr. Bogino is a great professor, but try to take COMM100 instead of 101 if you can. COMM101 is jam packed with so much busy work, and while all of it is easy, its so much to do. Fortunately, Bogino is a lenient grader, and it's not hard to ace his class if you just do the work.

Professor Troy is awesome! He is a very lenient grader. If you do the work you will succeed, its as simple as that. His lectures are genuinely interesting. Definitely take him if you have the option.

Professor Bogino is a lenient grader and he also sends out reminder emails. Comm 101 itself is an easy class with a lot of busy work. You have to do 21 quizzes online on Blackboard, which are based off of the textbook readings and has unlimited attempts. There's also 3 public speaking presentations (1 individual, 2 group). Its not too bad I promise

Professor Bogino is incredible. He made a class like COMM 101 actually enjoyable. He is a very lenient grader, and will always hear you out. Though you can pass without showing up, I recommend you show up anyways to stay caught up. Lots of busy work for homework, it is not difficult though. Textbook is a must, your grade will suffer without it.

Great Professor!

Prof. Troy is a very inspirational professor. He is a very easy grader and really appreciates students who put in their effort. If you show up prepared for your presentations, you can get an A easily. We have modules online as part of our hw, which are based on textbook. I never used the textbook but only for the modules. A must take class!

He was really chill and laid back much of the lecture. He is also an easy grader and though he doesn't give feedback, he helps you get better at public speaking. He is extremely lenient and gives MANY chances for people to do well, especially for communication challenges. He's an awesome teacher and I wish I could take him again. Solid choice!

Professor Bogino is hands down the best professor I have ever had. Since Week 1, he consistently displayed a passion for teaching and expressed love and respect for his students. He shared great life stories, told funny jokes that made all of us laugh, and overall made taking CST 110 during these unprecedented times something to look forward to.

Prof. Troy is great. He's very knowledgable/funny & only wants you to succeed. I'm still terrified of public speaking, but after this class it's better than before. This class helped me with presentations in other classes. Easy A if u complete the online modules. 3 presentation projects, no exams. 100% recommend.

Troy Bogino was one of my favorite professors this semester. He's a really funny guy that cares for his students. As long as you complete all the required homework from the textbook and actually participate when working with others, you'll do great. No actual final in the class, just one group speech towards the end of the semester.

He's a very laid back professor, but make sure to do the work and show up and you'll easily get an A. He's good at breaking the tension and making his students comfortable. He's really understanding if you have any problems regarding work or attendance. My favorite class at Mason so far.

The best professor I have ever had in my life.

One of the best professors you can have for a class as pre-structured as COMM101. He cultivated a laid-back and welcoming environment that made the idea of giving presentations seem not so bad. He understood that everyone comes into this class at a different comfort level with presenting; he graded accordingly for the effort you put in.

Prof. Bogino created a laid-back, but productive environment. He is very understanding. As long as you complete your work and put in the effort you should easily move through the class.

Prof. Bogino is probably the best choice for any Comm classes. His class is very welcoming for people who have trouble with public speaking to improve their skills and step out of their comfort zones. His grading system is very generous and he cares about and takes interest in all of his students. Highly recommend.

Prof. Troy is probably my favorite professor at GMU. He's so funny and goes easy on his students whenever there's a speech. He never made me feel anxious before speech days. He is a very nice professor and he is very chill. Overall an amazing professor.

He's super nice and I really enjoyed listening to him speak in class. Some professors deduct points for over/under time in their speech, but he does not. He also does not really look at the students when they are presenting so you don't have to worry about looking at your notecard too much. He also talks about his wife a lot which is sweet.

I hate the concept of having to take a class for communication, something I'm already good at, but this professor made me genuinely want to learn how I could become a BETTER communicator. He takes the time to learn every single student's names, ask them about their life, and genuinely have a conversation with you.

He is a very sweet guy! Talks a lot in lab but his teachings are valuable, I liked hearing his stories. Participation is key and getting to know him and talk after class is a good thing to do, highly recommend!
