Not enough like him, not only does he make the class enjoyable but he brings interesting readings that are not sterotypically boring. He makes sure everyone understands what he's saying although is not necessary cuz he's always clear on what he says. Takes time of his own to help u. And the fact that he's also cute only is a + to take him.

He was excellent. A crapload of the kids complained about him, but that's because none of them could write essays. I passed with flying colors, and learned a hell of a lot. His reading selection was refreshing, he's a funny guy, and you learn.

Yes, he's a nice guy and he's cool and funny. But it feels like he gives us the info needed for an assignment the day we turn it in. After the lectures I feel like I could've done a better job on a paper if I'd had the info the week before. I rec'd a low grade on my first paper because the criteria was unclear. Not bad, not great.

Troy presents very difficult material so I understand. ALWAYS open to questions/comments, gives CLEAR info about papers. When we turn papers in, goes over them again until we understand what we did wrong. Then he'll do group work. We can rewrite for higher grade. He's VERY CLEAR about what he wants. Complainers are lazy! TAKE HIM!! HE'S BEST!!!

This teacher is very clear, and goes OUT OF HIS WAY to help you out. You really do learn how to write better and and in a fun and comfortable work enviorment. A++

If you haven't taken his 101 class then 104 will be hard. I took his 101 and ended up with an A and took his 104 class and also ended up with an A. Pretty chill class, all analysis. Lets you do re-do's for your essays so it boosts your grade. However i do believe you should take him for 101 before taking another class of his.

Instructor Cardenas is funny, gives great lectures and keeps you interested in the topic at hand. He grades hard at first because he wants you to learn but if you follow directions and do the work, you will be able to pull an A. He's great!

Troy is a very nice and helpful teacher. However, he is not very clear on what it is he wants. You have to read the instructions/ask him multiple times to understand. Although i would get A's on his essays, my classmates almost always would get C's and D's. He likes your essays to be clear and to the point. Don't use fancy words and be yourself!

Troy's class is not easy. The overall grade you get is not based on what you get on the past essays. It's all based on improvement. I got D's and C's in his essays all semester but I managed to participate in class. As long as you participate, turn in all assigned essays, and do your final paper, you will get that well deserved A like me. :)

Professor Cardenas is my favorite English teacher EVER! He is so clear with the instructions and assignments & very helpful. The grading system is based on progress, so keep your hard work up till the end of the semester & it will pay off. I had mostly Bs, but got an A in the end. I HIGHLY recommend him, & going to take 104 with him!

He is very chill. He lets you redo some of the essays and teaches you a lot about writing essays. Thanks to him, I was one of the only people in my eng 104 class that could write a proper essay! He is helpful and stays after class to help students

His lectures are fun and interesting(he's hilarious). He's a very fair grader. He teaches you how to properly write essays so it's awesome bc he shows exactly what he wants in the essays. So make sure you do it exactly the way he wants. You don't need to be a pro writer u just need to follow directions and you'll pass exceptionally easy.

in the beginning he was really confusing because he wants his essays to be in a certain format. he makes sure you understand the material and gives u numerous chances to fix your essays till you get a better grade. Sometimes talks a little too much tho.

Summer 2015: He is hands down the easiest teacher ever !!!! his grading couldn't be any better to help students pass. he literally lets you know exactly what he wants and how. he's a nerdy teacher in my opinion and very approachable. i will definitley take him for english 104.

I absolutely recommend him!! He is extremely clear on what he expects.. some things might be kind of hard to understand at the beginning, but he explains very well which makes it more clear!! If you mess up the first couple of grades, don't worry since he lets you rewrite some stuff to bump up your grade! just FOLLOW his instructions in writings!

He may sound confusing at first, but to be honest he does an amazing job at explaining the material in class. You may get a bad grade at first, but he lets u rewrite the essay for a higher grade. He will do everything he can to make u understand the material. He is very helpful and friendly.

Troy really is a great professor. He may seem demanding at first, but he gives you so many opportunities to revise assignments and aim for a higher grade. He gives no tests, and you write majority of your research paper with each assignment given to you. Very possible to get an A!

His English classes are super easy. All you need to do to get an A is to follow his guideline. No in-class essays, midterm, and final. However, he does assign a lot of process writings and a couple of take-home essays.

Mr T was great!! Always strong comments on papers, stayed really late in office hours best teacher there for students. Can tell him any concerns he works with you. If someone bothered by talking students tell him don't be sitting saying nothing when he listens and takes action so we improve. He's funny too!!

He is not like every teacher, he actually cares and understands that students are here to learn and truly understand the material and not like other teachers just give a grade and leave. He will do everything to help you pass but don't be fooled do your work.

He is a great professor! Take him! If you get at least one A your overall grade will be an A. He wants to see an improvement, and when he does see it youll get an A.

I took 101 and 102 with Prof. T. Great teacher, an even better person. His lectures are fun, especially for people who watch GoT. Essays are not hard, however, my first essay grade was C, but I have finished the class with an A. He gives a great feedback. Quizzes in 102 were easy as 1, 2, 3. I would take it again 100x, you should too.

Took him for Eng 101 and it was too easy. Very simple tasks to do, read a few short stories and write essays. the essays of which were very simple, and allows revisions if you get low grades.

This professor is very special, took him over the winter along with another class, thought I would struggle because of both classes but he works with you and knows the struggles students go through. Great Professor! I took Eng101 with him online (During COVID). He's very kind and gives back great feedback on any assignment you post! Textbook wasn't required, assignments were based on articles/essays he posted the pdf's for. Easy assignments and uses the app Pronto to go more in depth about instructions. Will definitely take him for English 102

Prof T builds up the research paper in stages the entire semester an I really learned from this and research paper was doable. We never did one paper on repeat it's analysis, I used a lot of views when I wrote. Ya get what ya give js. This guy always open to us and what were thinking. Even answers our questions at night on the weekend.

First off, Prof. T is the most caring and genuine professor. All of his assignments are organized and interesting. Also, he makes sure to answer all questions even on weekends, etc. I am not very confident in my writing, however, Prof. T has given me the opportunity to revise and improve my essays to learn from my mistakes. Prof. T is a gem.

This class was fire, lots of history I never knew, from so many viewpoints and times. I liked building the research paper during the semester bc I learned, improved, the old grades drop and T only uses our new grades cuz we progress. He sends out anon surveys. You got issues? Just DOPE. Nothing can explain how he like be. He very considers all his students amid this pandemic. Only THREE essays you'll need to turn in and if you get ONE "B" amongst three and do every homework, you'll have an "A." 102 is a bit harder than 104 and enjoy both of them. I like the way he presents the material and he makes amazing vids. Everything is clear and he answers questions on pronto promptly. He gives very precise comments so I can follow closely to improve my work. He gave me extensions when I was ill so never hesitate to ask for it. Enjoy the class.

Mr. Troy is a great professor and an awesome choice for ENG102. Although it was online and we didn't meet, he was always accessible and accommodating. Although the class isn't an easy A, as long as you show you care, you WILL get an A. He isn't a super easy grader, but he's very fair, and gives lots of feedback. Would definitely recommend!

Professor Cardenas is one of the most helpful professors at GCC. He was quick at contacting me back via pronto, and he gave substantial feedback for every assignment. The only issue I have with his class is that his notes and feedback had a lot of grammatical errors in them. Also, he gives a generous curve for the class.

His teaching method has taught me to think logically and I was able to apply his technique and applied it to other subjects and excelled.He gives very detailed feedback that I have not seen in other instructors. He frequently advises his students to focus on doing their best rather than worrying about their grades. My grade was A+. Just two essays, I believe, were required of us. Take him!

Professor Cardenas was amazing. We only had three papers and we had small assignments that built up to the papers. Its very easy but stay on top of the work because he uses progressive grading. Missing 1 assignment could really mess with your grade.

This was an 8 week online class that I had took with him . If you are new with online classes and are afraid with how things will be I recommend taking Professor Troy. He really cares about his students . Just email any issues you have and he will help you the best he can .
