Dr. Hamai is a sensational professor whose class I would retake again without a doubt. Being a first generation psychology major I was nervous about the rigor of the course but was relieved to find her material manageable and informal. It will not be an easy A but with dedication and communication you will be sure to succeed.

Professor Truc is literally the sweetest! You'll never feel left behind and she's so respectful and understanding. As far as reading yes get ready to read a lot. Quizzes and the final are an easy A if you do your notes! Overall if you prepare yourself by keeping up with the reading and notes you'll be fine.

Professor Truc is very kind and like she says "you'll definitely get your money's worth." She uses all of class time so don't expect to leave class early. However. I feel she does her best to explain all the material. Being present for class is important because she will give discussion questions at the end that are worth points.

Professor HaMai's demonstrated a strong desire to see her students succeed. She was always available outside of class and responded right away to emails. Quizzes and exams were easy to get good scores on. She was not into lecturing but would have the students do group work for every class. She is the professor for you if you really want to learn.

I was not expecting to like this class until we had the first zoom meeting, then I realized I was going to learn so much. Dr. HaMai makes you so interested in the work you're doing that it becomes fun to research and complete the assignments. Seriously, I truly learned so much from this class than I ever have in previous ones. Highly reccomend!!

I took this class for the spring 2021 semester (during distance learning). I enjoyed this class, the material is straightforward, not a lot of homework, and she provides a healthy and open learning environment.

I took this online course with Dr. T in Spring/2021. Dr. T was very professional, helpful and provided extra credit opportunities. Her lectures were thought out and always provided visuals (videos) which made online class more engaging.

Dr. T expects a lot out of you but that's because she expects a lot out of herself. As long as you are willing to do the work and be present she will help you as much as she is able. This class is meant to be a little challenging because it is material that you need to learn and Dr. T makes sure that you do. You should definitely take her class!

I took DR. T for Psychobiology and I am so glad I did !! She is amazing, caring she really sets the students up for success and makes you learn! Thats the best part she breaks things down so easy for her students to understand and if they dont understand she takes the time out of her schedule to make sure you are understanding it! Take her class

I truly love this women. Do the work, participate in discussions and in class and you will pass. She will work with you one on one if need be. If you show that you are actually taking a liking to the class, she will be sure to help you out first. But honestly, if you just follow along you will for sure pass this class with an A. She is awesome.

I highly recommend taking her class. She really cares about her students and is very understanding. She does offer extra credit however in order to be able to completely it you must not have any missing assignments. Overall she is an amazing teacher.

Started this class uncertain what Social Psychology entailed, now I intend on majoring in the field of Social Psychology. Dr. T was incredibly caring and honest, it is obvious she cares about educating but she also sets time aside to speak one on one with students. Thank you Dr. T, you have impacted the trajectory of my studies for the better.

She is one of my favorite professors I've ever worked with, I've taken her for two semesters and each one has been great! The lectures are always in-depth and I always get something out of them, when you don't understand something she's always willing to take time and help explain it to make sure you fully understand the concepts before moving on.

She's INCREDIBLE. Clearly an expert in her field, but also an expert in human and student connection. She is tough & challenging but only in the same way a coach who believes in you motivates you to push yourself. We were challenged to have controversial & vulnerable discussions that I will value for life. Give it your best, you wont regret it.

Dr. T is strong, educated, and all around an amazing teacher. She is kind to her students, and is understanding of life and challenges that people face while the semester goes on. While this class was online, our discussions were still very detailed and intimate, and let us grow as a class. She does provoke you to have an open mind which is great!

Excellent Professor. Her quizzes and exam are based on the book, lectures, videos, and group discussions. She cares for her students and their success. Highly recommend her if you want to learn the material versus just taking a class for credit.

Dr. T expects a lot from her students but she gives just as much back to her students in lively, interactive lectures & thought-provoking reading material; plus, she is understanding and her classroom is a safe space. Dr. T cares about well-being of her students and creates a great learning environment.Class was once a week so attendance+participation matters & it motivated me to be on top of readings so I was prepared. I valued class discussions since they helped me connect w/ the material & relate it to my life. We even did meditation before each class!

Dr. T brings so much knowledge to the table, she genuinely enjoys psychology, it shows in the richness of her discussions and involvement in mental health awareness. Read the chapter & watch the videos each chapter before class, it's easy and enjoyable. Graded on class participation, short quiz each chapter/weekly, 4 exams & One Semester Paper.

Pro. T is a difficult but good professor. She expects a lot from her students but genuinely wants her students to do good. There was only 1 class/week so attendance matter and every class require participation for the group discussion. Must read the assigned chapter. I really like how Pro. T always wants to hear students input during lecture.

Consistent and clear course, easy to follow

Dr. T's course followed exactly what was expected from the syllabus. It focused on in-class discussions, weekly quizzes, 4 exams, and one research project. She was very understanding about deadlines and late submissions and cared for the well-being of her students. Overall provided a great learning space for the class!

This class was great. It taught me to understand mental health from a different perspective; appreciating life to a whole new level. The level of comfort that Dr. T placed in the class sessions was extremely comfortable. She expressed the importance of respect and viewing the concepts that were being taught from an academic perspective.

The class I actually took was social psychology 105, but rmp doesn't have that course listed. Dr. T is the best professor that I have had throughout my time at MSJC. I still reference material that I learned. She helped me throughout my transfer process, and was there to mentor me when times got tough. I recommend that you take any of her courses.

I signed up for this class but dreaded having to take it. But my major is psychology. I was honestly surprised with how Doc T was very hands and helpful. She is thorough and wants you to be prepared for transfer. Not sure why people tripping. I guess they didn't do the work so they get pissed and blame her. I got a B and I deserved it. SMDH

I flunked Psychology 101 twice with different professors. First time was online anytime and I bombed it cuz I didn't take deadlines seriously. Second time was in person but the professor was boring AF and I checked out. I was sooooo relieved that the third time is a charm. I love Dr T!!! Her teaching style is engaging and fun. I learned so much.

I got an A and worked hard for it. Other students made dumb excuses for stuff and Dr T gave them chances even though she knew they were full of it. They came to class unprepared and that sucked for me because they'd do nothing and wait for someone like me to talk. I learned a lot in this class and am happy she recognized I took it seriously.

I was conditionally accepted to a MFT program and needed to take an abnormal psychology class before I could start grad school. I am grateful for this class! Dr. T dissects the DSM and brings in political frameworks too. She challenged us to look at mental disorders that is culturally inclusive. I was properly prepared!

Truc HaMai is mindful of the students and the difficulties that might arise throughout the semester. She is fair and expects you what other professors expect in a class, which is to be prepared and read the textbook. The class focuses on the papers which are not hard, but most importantly on being prepared for the discussions

I truly enjoyed having Dr. T as a professor. The class requirements were clearly stated and she was always ready to provide any extra support her students needed. Not only that, she provided a safe space to have insightful discussions about psychology and real world issues! She is super caring and accommodating while still pushing you!

Prof Truc Haimai is an amazing person, not only a professor! If this class were to be offered on campus it would be that more amazing, the class was very interesting and interactive.

The professor truly cares for each and every student. The professor is fair, yet helpful and gives encouraging feedback. She is always open to new ideas, allows everyone to speak their minds, and gives out the best learning materials. She goes above and beyond for her students!! (Honors studies [HEP-202] is the class I took but no option for class)

I had Dr. HaMai for Honor Seminar and she was amazing. She values respect and honesty so she makes sure to provide her students with it and expects the same in return. I left her class everyday with some new experiences, all positive. I felt heard, included, and acknowledged in all class sessions and she was always ready to help and guide us.

I have taken many online classes and this is the only class where I have actually gotten to know my professor and some of my classmates. Not only is Professor Hamai an amazing teacher, she is also extremely empathetic and you can see how much she cares about all of her students. LOVE this class!

Dr. Truc Hamai has been my favorite professor thus far at MSJC. Be prepared to answer questions about the homework assignment during class as there is a daily discussion. Professor Hamai is an amazing instructor, she cares deeply about her students and made me love showing up to class every day.

This was one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. Professor Hamai was a very inspirational teacher and made herself very available for questions or concerns. She has been one of my very favorite teachers! As long as you are active in your participation and stay on top of the assignments, there is no reason you won't get an A.

Dr. T will definitely hold you accountable, but she's very understanding as well. As long as you communicate with her and try your best there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to pass. All the assignments are very accomplishable and there are no surprises. She also offers extra credit! I enjoyed her class a lot, I highly recommend it.

I had Dr. Truc HaMai for 2 separate courses and it was a pleasure to be in those classes both times. You have to make sure that you are staying on top of your work, attending class and paying attention, but it is really worth it because you do learn a lot and learn to not just be responsible for your work, but how to work with your classmates too!

Dr. T was a great professor. I took this class after getting my BA in psych and can say that the course is designed at a university level (eg. reading/participation heavy, big paper @end of term) so it can be challenging but it really prepares you to think critically/find good study habits. She's very thorough and cares deeply about her students

This was a good introductory course to psychology. The professor was absent most of the time due to personal issues, and I wish she had communicated that sooner, as we were concerned. She provided a good, free textbook, and each module included informative PowerPoints. For some assignments, we had to upload videos answering questions.

You get out of this class what you put into it. The professor was very helpful. I really learned something from her!!

I loved this class. The assignments were really clear and she even provided templates to follow. You'll work, but expect that at the college level. She was available for zoom meetings and really cares. Plus, absolutely hilarious! I learned a lot.

Dr. T's teaching style rocks. I can only imagine that those who are complaining about her got a crappy grade and didn't do the work. Even though I got a B, it was deserving. In fact, started off not caring and was gonna get a C. Then went to her office hours to get help. I learned to become accountable. It worked - I'm a better student now!

Syllabus is straightforward. Grading is straightforward. Just do the work. It's a lot, but I expected it because it as short-term class (only 8 weeks). I'm glad I got this done and out of the way. I woudn't mind taking Dr. T in a face-to-face class. I think she'd be fun.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Professor HaMai is truly an outstanding instructor! I struggle complex psychological concepts., but she incorporates real-world examples that help make the material more relatable. She provides detailed feedback on everyone's assignments, which helped me improve throughout the course. I plan to take her again next semester!

I was scared to take a psychology class but I'm glad I did. Whenever I had a question, she took the time to make sure that I understood. She doesn't mind repeating things so that I can understand. She gives feedback on my assignments and when I took her suggestions, my grade went up and I know more. I hope to take another class from Dr. Hamai!

This was a tough class, but I'm glad I took it. There's no quizzes or exams. Do the reading and come prepared to discuss the course. Critical thinking and the ability to stay on top of relevant news events are important. I would take another class with her.

Dr. T totally cares about her students. I had childcare issues and was planning to skip class, but she told me to bring my son. She didn't want me to miss class and could keep watch of him. How cool is that? I've never had a prof be this understanding and generous. She expects you to be a grown up. Do the work and man up. It's doable class.

Dr. T is tough, but she is invested in your learning. Whatever you do, DO NOT CHEAT! Lots of students used AI on their research papers and got busted. Not sure why they did that - we had library workshops, tutors to help our annotated bibliography and plenty of time to work on it for weeks. I'm proud that I followed instructions and earned my A!

Professor Hamai had the toughest syllabus quiz I have ever taken but otherwise the course was really smooth and relatively easy. I took a short-term course, so it was a lot of reading and homework, but I really enjoyed it. Professor Hamai also gave good feedback, which I really liked.
