Dr. Keys is difficult and vague during class, my entire class is averaging a "C-" and stressing out. Our Research Methods class is like another Thesis course basically you write very lengthy papers to find impossible answers or research limitations. AVOID! his classes unless you want to be stressed out and over worked for a meager grade of a "C-".

He isnt a good professor at all. He thinks he knows it all and who cares if he does the stuff he teaches is boring. Not a good educator. Wonder how he became a teacher. STAY AWAYYYYY

I don't see how people gave him a good review. I had a 3.9 GPA going into the semster, that ended fast. I am over 24 yrs of age and been around different characters of people. This professor is arrogant, confusing and over complicates class with a ridiculous work load. I think he believes people are only taking his class and no others. Beware

This is a ridiculous class with a ridiculous man. The course material is common sense, but he convolutes everything.The class isn't difficult because of the course material, it's difficult because he assigns asinine busy work and nit picks. I took this for the Anthro credit, but it can hardly be considered on par with any quality Anthro course.

i should of never taken his class, his lectures are horrible hes all over the place so hard to stay focused, when taking notes he tells us to write random words down that make no sense. if you have questions about an assignment he gives little to no help don't take his class!!!!!

Wastes a lot of time off-topic vs teaching. Assignmentstests are designed to make life easier for him, at a high cost to you the student. Tests are not reviewed & because tests are not printed with questions along with your answers, returned tests are meaningless & incontestable. Group assignments can kill your grade, no matter how hard you work!1

I'm a second semester senior getting ready to walk. He took my easy elective course, to one of the worst course I've taken all through college. My GPA also went from a 3.8, to a 3.5 just because of him. He does not value his student's opinion, Highly unorganized. And Very Arrogant.

Does not give any feedback to your questions, grades, work or anything. Easily frustrated when you ask for questions. I will never ever take him. Had him for a semester and we didn't have 6 classes and he decided to give the whole class a C from the start. Grades went down BC of that. Highly disorganized. Don't bother.. POWERPOINTS sucks.

Worst communication class I have ever taken. I left every class confused by the topic of discussion. This professor goes on many tangents throughout lecture and then becomes visibly annoyed when asked to slow down or further explain material. Due to character count ill sum this up with... confusing, tough grader, difficult quizes. Do not take him.

Very tough grader, doesn't give extra help when requested. Final project was extremely intense.

Professor Keys is not a good teacher. He is completely unorganized and does not give clear directions towards the task at hand. Whenever we asked for clarification of directions, he would get mad at us for not understanding what he wanted. He will really mess up your grade for the tinniest mistakes, and his assignments are only worth 20 points

Every Friday a 1-3 page paper was due. The powerpoints were not clear and hard to look at. His grading criteria is absolutely ridiculous and when asked for clarification he gets very nasty. At one point 7, 5-6 page articles were given to us along with a long powerpoint. Dr. Keys is the last person I recommend taking a class with.

Stay away, read his reviews on here. Dont make the mistake I made. Probably worst profesor I have had in my entire life. And if you do take him, dont ask for clarification or for him to slow down. He will get upset.

I received my first D in college because of this professor, there is no reason ANYONE should get that kind of grade in a Decision Making in Groups class. I worked extremely hard. Do not take.

Do yourself a favor a never take this professor unless you want to lower your GPA and want a D or F on your transcript

By far the worst professor Ive ever had at WCSU. I regret taking him. He pretends to care but comes off as cocky. I advice that no one takes him, he shouldnt be teaching

Professor Keys means well I'm sure, But his inability to relate to his students and lecture in an easy to understand manner makes having him as a professor very difficult. Mid semester we were forced to switch to an online format due to the pandemic. His material and teaching style do not transfer well to online learning.

Definitely one of the weirdest classes I've taken. I've never felt more lost in a 100 level class. Assignment instructions are so unclear & grading criteria is weird. Points will be taken off for the randomest things & you never know what you're doing wrong exactly. He doesn't give clear follow up instructions either. overall, don't take this class

I had the unfortunate displeasure of taking Professor Keys for two classes during my time at Western. The classes were disorganized, had confusing lectures that were filled with unrelated tangents, his assignments were unclear, and he was a very tough grader. If you can, take your comm classes with someone else.

Absolutely worst class experience at WCSU

I want to say good things about this Professor but I can't. He graded mostly during class while showing creepy videos and reading word for word from his self made slide show, his class was boring and he was unpleasant. He tried to make each discussion "deep" but it was actually just uncomfortable. Find another professor if you can.

When Covid hit and everything went online, obviously our class moved online as well. I'm not sure what his thinking was, he decided it would be the perfect opportunity to give us 3 more papers to write, and one extra group project! A group project during Covid. Nice guy but terrible teacher. Material not explained well . Do not take his class!

This class was fully online. He required a weekly papers in response to Ted Talks, and then another paper critiquing a classmates paper. Final was: 10 minute youtube video. Sounds easy no? Well, it was the only class in my 3 years at WCSU where I received below an A. Extremely unclear grading criteria. Would never take again. Surprised hes a prof

BEWARE!!! Do not take him. WCSU needs to open their eyes and get rid of this guy. Everything is SUBJECTIVE and not clear!!! Called him, met with him, not helpful. He is not understanding. Not one ounce of sympathy. No extra credit. No pre-grading. Puts down a random grade, doesnt even read what you write for ALL the papers he has you do.

He is the biggest cuck of a professor you could have. Literally the worst. I had to write this as I sit in his class. Its not that deep. Stop trying to make it that deep. Shut the f**k up. Seriously the worse professor Ive ever had

online asynch, he’s a very tough grader and doesn’t give much explanation as to why you get the grade you do. Assignments were always papers and due weekly. Would not recommend this class solely based on the way he grades.

He is one of the worst professors I have had at WCSU. His assignments, which are only essays, are complete bogus and his directions are very unclear. I have emailed him multiple times for assistance on why I am failing his assignments and he has been very degrading towards me and is not helpful. If you are looking into taking his class, DONT!

Worst experience at WCSU. He is extremely rude, and does not care about your success. This is a 200 level class and he treats it like its a Yale graduate program. WCSU needs to realize that he needs to go. He doesn't care to know you or help you. He makes WCSU look terrible.

This was absolutely the worst class I have ever taken. I do not recommend this teacher at all. He does not grade in a timely manner and does not provide feedback at all. The class was very difficult and the grading criteria was almost impossible. You will be lucky to get 1/2 credit on assignments. DO NOT TAKE!!

One of the worst professors/teachers I have ever had in my 19 years of education. His grading is absolutely horrendous. All of the papers are out of 20 points, and i'm almost 100% certain he picks the number grade you receive out of hat. I would rather dropout of college than take any of his courses ever again.

I'll make this short. DO NOT take this professor. He: -threatened a grade of 0 to the class multiple times. -is the worst professor I've ever had. -grades hard. -assigns many papers. -was rude to students. I graduated Magna Cum Laude (with honors) and his class is the only one I got a B in (all the rest were A's), if that tells you anything.

Man was this class hard to pull off an A in, and it was my easiest level course. It was 5 papers and 2 tests. If you pay attention the tests are not difficult, but the papers were too much. This class was too much stress for the level it was at. If you miss one class, you're doomed. Very confusing.

Don't ever. EVER. Make the mistake of taking this class. If you ABSOLUTELY need to take it, PLEASE take with a different professor!!! We're only graded on 2 exams and 5 essays, and on certain criteria what some students would get a 0 on, others would get a 2. He explains how he wants the essay written AFTER it's graded- which doesn't make sense.

Please do not take a class with this Professor. He grades unfairly and assigns too much work for a 200-level class.

Talk about the worst most unkind professor I have ever met in my life, not to mention playing an inappropriate video in class that people even didn't come to the next class bc we knew we had to finish it. Just so uncomfortable, and picks random grades I swear. I cannot believe this man is still allowed to teach with all the reviews he has as well.

Made class harder than it should be.

Papers due every Sunday and 2 due every 3 weeks. Awful communication for a communications professor and grading criteria is basically non-existent. "Feedback" given is the same for wildly different grades on a single assignment. Needs to be taken out of the pre-nursing requirements, no benefit and simply is a gpa killer

Basically if you don't do the papers you fail the class, Papers are the only assignments actually graded. He assigns group projects outside of class that legit aren't even graded. clearly he doesn't realize students are taking more classes than just his. he really just isn't a good teacher

He was very harsh grading. I wrote a paper for my final paper which covered everything in the grading rubric and received an F for it. He had us do a project that was not even a grade. DO NOT TAKE

Spoke incessantly on current events, being often controversial social issues loosely related to the material. A tragic Professor, truthfully. Had to retake his course for being short 0.04 points and was short again by even more. Took the same course, new prof. and passed with a A the very next semester. If you get him on your agenda, switch out!!

Professor will not provide extra help or guidance with assignments

I regret taking this class with this profesor. Super difficult and stressful. The professor teaches absolutely nothing. Every week he leaves us a lot of homework and if we ask for help he confuses us more. If you have the opportunity to take this class with another professor, do it. I don't recommend this class with this professor.

Be warned. He believed the assignments were weighted evenly when they absolutely were not. Had four 20 point group projects, two 50 point exams, and one 100 point final. You do the math. Did not provide explanations for grades AT ALL. Did not even circle the correct answers on exams, which were filled with graduate level jargon. Do. Not. Take.

The worst of all professors I've worked with. The grading criteria and subject material was severely overcomplicated. It felt at times that the prof did not even want to do his job, there was at least one time where he had a group of students write stuff on the board for him because he did not want to and he used profane language. Do not take.

This class was made complicated for no reason. This professor was all over the place with his lectures, assignments, tests, and expectations. He never correctly explained the assignments and the expected students to know what he expected. He did not seem like he wanted to be teaching this class at all and made sure that his students could tell.

I found this teacher absolutely disturbing and horrific. When I have found out when my uncle died, I emailed him saying that I wasn't able to finish the module. He said I should finish the module since I'm already working on it and he also said, “ Then you can shift your concentration to family and receive condolences during this time.” I withdrew.

Genuinely one of the worst professors I have ever had. He over complicates everything to an extent I have never seen before. Somehow the more he explains things the less sense they make. If you can help it do not take any of his classes. I wish I hadn't.

Professor Keys does not seem to care about the subject he's teaching, his students, his lesson plan, or his job. The class seemed to be almost made up on the spot, with most of the "activities" being a lazy group slideshow presentation with extremely vague prompts. He encouraged discussion but was extremely condescending towards differing opinions.

Worst professor at Western Connecticut. Disrespectful and unorganized. Thinks he's Einstein and Shakespeare but he's just below average with a huge ego. Tenured so they won't fire him and he's lazy. Unfair grading and petty if he dislikes you, even if your work is good. The 50 one-star reviews are all true. Good luck.

Not good. Tough grader and doesn't give much time to complete assignments. Will not care for you missing class because of a family emergency and will give a zero for the assignment. Does not check emails.

Awful professor. Constantly changed expectations, belittled and yelled at students, and gave off perverted vibes. Showed sexual clips (Fifty Shades of Grey) during class on “taboo topics,” making many uncomfortable. Disorganized, unprofessional—avoid his classes at all costs.

I cannot emphasize enough how awful of a professor this guy is. He tries to use big words and over explain everything just to sound smart. Grading criteria is very unclear and plays devils advocate in discussions just to never explain what he wants from us as students. Take with another professor if possible he's the worst.
