I took Professor Dao's class this semester from July to September 2023. At first, I thought this would be a tough course to pass but he made it easier to understand, especially for someone with no background in accounting. One thing I really liked about his class is the leadership and teamwork materials that he shared in class.

I asked him if he teaches Finance next term, then I would love to take it with him. With all the materials he prepared for class, it shows that he really cares about teaching. He was an international student 18 years ago here as well and the stories when he shared in class were so inspirational. He understands what we are going through.

we said goodbye to Professor Dao yesterday, it was emotional. I was nervous taking accounting but he really did encourage every one of us to try and be willing to help. None of my professors reminded us 3 times before the deadline for assignment submission like this professor. He set us up to succeed and he did everything to do so.Thank you so much

Wait until you heard about his job at Tim Hortons, it was hilarious. I liked his humour, and I did ok in his class as I did not do a lot of practice, Quizzes are hard but you can make up for doing well on assignments, especially individual and group assignments. For his quizzes, if you don't study, you will get zero. Overall, fun to take this class

He knows his materials, especially in manufacturing cost accounting. His real-life examples in accounting made the course more interesting otherwise I would just skip classes, accounting is not my strength. I remember emailing him asking for his help and he replied within a few minutes, very cool. He cared.

He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He possesses a solid knowledge of both accounting and finance. What's more important is that the knowledge he imparts is super practical. He sees his students as companions in progress and tends not to challenge them in terms of grading. I would still choose to attend his class without hesitation.

This teacher is an inspiration and a role model to international students. Indeed an excellent teacher and knows the subject matter.

He is a really great lecturer and think about the students more often and help the student the best way he can. On class paper quizzes were there but with reasonable effort can achieve good marks. The most enthusiastic lecturer i have ever met.

He made it to our group presentation at 9:00 p.m. (not his business hour). I highly recommend this professor, he is understanding, empathetic, and very knowledgeable in accounting (his experience and education reflect this as well). He made classes fun and easy to understand even though with hard concepts. You need to study to pass this course.

Yay! Done with this course and will never have to take it again in the MBA program. Acct is not my expertise but I really appreciate the professor. He cares about his students, you will be provided with so much guidance through the course. Failed the first Quiz with only 20% so he sat down with me and came up with study strategies. High level of homework and in-class quizes. No problem for me as I come prepared. He is inspirational, passionate, and accessible. If you are looking for these, you are very good to go.

Must attend his class, fun and also useful as well. His teaching method was easy to understand, one thing I like about this lecture is that he used Harvard case studies and also some leadership material from MIT and Harvard, very good exposure. Must study to get good grades. Great professor! Super friendly but also strict.

A lot of homework and Quizzes were hard, you must study in order to pass. He is strict with marking but always provides fair marking. His friendly style of teaching really helped boost my confidence.

He promptly addresses inquiries, and while his lectures might appear straightforward, engaging with the course material is essential to grasp the assignments. he's a fair grader. three HAND WRITING quizzes in class but under time constraints, as well as one individual case study and one group case study with a final-term presentation.

He is an outstanding Professor. The teaching level is good but somehow fast. He grades his students leniently, and in his subject, one can score well but with a moderate effort from the student side. He encourages the students to do tasks and give good marks even for attempt. No doubt, in-class quizzes are strict and tricky.

Prof Tu Dao was such an inspirational professor. He talked about life after the class. He cared about students passing the course. You always looked forward to the next class. I will recommend him any day! He was my best professor for the term!

I really enjoyed his class, very good foudation for Finance, the course I am taking right now. Prof Dao explained things in an easy and simple way to understand.

The prof is very easy going. Study and be ready for quizzes. He will send a ton of emails but they are a good reminder. If you ace the quizzes, you can easily get over 90%.

You need to be in class to get all the tips for Quizzes and assignments, at first, it was hard but then after the first Quiz and part A assignment, things will become easier. One thing to note, if you don't study and practice, you will fail. I enjoyed his lecture, he answered every single email I sent him, and he cared. Strongly recommend Prof Dao.

Not a good start at first, as I did poorly on my first Quiz and in-class assignment. The first Quiz was not tough but with time and pressure, hard to finish and score high. first assignment was so hard, even with him walking us through the case in class, still was so hard. But part B was better. I reached out for advice and he replied right away.

very simple, if you don't study you get a zero; you can get a zero on all quizzes if not study. He showed us the statistic of 34% average for the first Quiz, and many got 1 which means zero. Fair grader; he tried giving part marks. His lectures are very good, easy to understand but you need to practice a lot. no free ride in this course.

He is a superb prof if you don't have any prior experience with accounting. It may be horrible during early classes. But you will make sure to be on track soon. stay with him. truly an exceptional teacher with a good heart.

Finally, I got the final mark last night at 1:00 am. He was a tough professor, but he cares, gives very good lectures and feedback. I felt terrible the first three weeks, and I thought I would fail, but he encouraged me to stay on course and try until the end. It was so much worth it. Thank you so much Prof. Dao. MUST STUDY TO PASS.

Very straightforward professor, he stated clearly what his expectations were in our class in the fall. I like his fair style, he can differentiate good students and lazy students, to get an A or A+, you will have to work hard for it. You also work hard to get B+. A couple of friends thought he was easy so they did not study and ended up getting C.

Got my first Quiz 100%, my strategy is to study and practice a lot. He allowed open book that so that was helpful but I did not even use any materials, too distracting if you use it too much. He is friendly, he knows accounting well. Take him if you study seriously. Many got 0 in the first quiz because of not studying.

Almost done with this class, finished the second quiz yesterday, Professor allowed open-book quizzes but honestly not easy, relying too much on notes is no good, you need to do a lot of practice before. He responded to all of my email asking for help, that I very appreciate.

Prof. Dao is truly caring for his students. He gives 3 class quizzes and weekly forums, with no dramatic attitude toward APA citations. Being from a non-accounting background you would feel difficulty in solving the questions but participation matters. At the end, you would see perfect grading criteria. Do take him if you want to pass the course.

Everything is good as how a student would want.

During tests, the Professor can use the language that is used in the Wiley and presentations attached in the BrightSpace. They are designed in such a way that every student from a wide range of backgrounds can understand. He is using a lot of CA/CFA level logic and language that is difficult to understand but he cares about students.

Writing quizzes in class. And doing assignment that is supposed to be taken home. Doing an assignment in school is not proper at all, because we need more time to analyze and calculate.

The best first course in the MBA program and I am glad to take it with Professor Tu. Thank you for showing your care and sharing your knowledge.

Halfway done! I am from a non-accounting background and enjoy his class, easy to understand but Quizzes are hard, but he gave hints and topic to study.

i can tell you that he cares and helpful. i had no accounting backgroud and lost in the first 3 weeks, he helped direct me to tutoring and advice on how to study. very good professor.

It was a difficult course, but I was lucky that I passed. Beware of lazy team members in teamwork, you don't get to choose who is in your team. I would take this professor again.

A difficult course: As a translator who turned into a business major, I found this course quite challenging. The first quiz was 30%, and I improved a bit in Quiz 2 and 3. A lot of practice is needed, including an open-book quiz. Thanks and appreciation to professor Dao for guidance and encouragement.

I just completed this course with prof Dao Tu, even though my score has not been released yet. But I love the way his instruction, his practical experience sharing, his enthusiasm. You can reach and ask him with very quick response with clear guideline. Although you have to pay for the text book, but it is worthy actually.

During my first weeks at university, I learned my father was critically ill. I had to fly home immediately, missing a quiz. Expecting a zero, I informed Professor Tu Dao, who allowed me to make up for the quiz r and check in weekly. I managed a B in the course. It was great but my only comment is the quizzes need to be made easy. Quizzes were very difficult in lieu of time available. Prof is knowledgeable and has good industry experience, and at the same time, he is a straightforward and fair marker.

Professor should try to explain from scratch rather than assuming all students are accounting professionals. Aside that lecture ref is great and encourage students on to be better. He also engourages career development strategies like posting job fairs and encouraging his students to attend .

The first Quiz was done and returned this week; it is a business case type and open book. The quiz was confusing, but everything tested was from what we studied in class; it wonderful to show up in class to get all the hints. Professor show passion for teaching in every class.

He is the most amazing professor I have ever met. Lectures 10/10 Motivational 10/10. He is a very easy grader but you definitely have to make a link to answers ofcourse. You get 1 week for OGL. Discussion and Wiley quizzes are scoring too. His case studies are very comprehensive. You should definitely take him.

Professor Tu took accounting to another level of joy this was the toughest class I ever had in my life because I never had 30 minutes to complete a quiz,I have never felt so much pressure to understand a topic in my life. Best professor in ucw. you can easily get good marks. 3 in-class quizzes and one individual assignment in-class, weekly discussion online. you can choose this professor by closing your eyes. classes are interesting you can grab the subject easily.

In this accounting course, many students are lazy and not care, they did not do their work in group assignment. but as professor say, focus on yourself, what you can do and become strong after two years. Thank you professor for guiding me and encourage me.

He is the best professor for accounting. 55 marks are for on class papers. Can easily earn from group works (25), Wiley quizzes(10) and discussions(10). Very supportive and give feed backs. If you can focus on what he asked us to do, you can earn A grade.

Professor Dao is one of the best professors I've had. His lectures were always engaging and high-quality. He truly wants students to learn, not just pass. He's fair and he won't give free marks, but he acknowledges effort and he will ovelook minor mistakes. He's inspiring, supportive, and sets the standard for great teaching.

I would say best professor for Account as even without commerce background I managed to get grade A . First Quiz was tough that's why I couldn't manage to get A+. We can learn lot from him. Better rush and take him and follow his instructions and attain all the class as he Somtimes gives hint about question in quiz .
