Very hard to understand, ridiculous method of teaching, writes stuff on board and dosn't explain anything...expects students to figure stuff out on their own if they don't understand...not helpful at all...DROP class asap.
worst teacher ever. she cant even speak english and doesn't teach anything good. all she does is writes tons of stuff on the board and doesn't stop to explain any of it. if you get her class, drop it asap

By far the worst algebra teacher ever! I suggest dropping the class because half of her class drops/fails anyways. She doesn't even try to help the failing students..which is around 40-50 percent of her class...
awful, awful teacher. DROP THIS CLASS IMMEDIENTLY!!!! do not expect to get high grades in this class, can't understand her, and her tests are over stuff covered in the book(not what she teachers)
She is the worst prof. ever!!! i went to her office hours to get help and she didnt help at all, all she did was sit on the computer and tell me how bad i was failing. If you get this class drop it before its to late!
she teaches too fast and does not spend any time reviewing
yea...after a month or two of getting 40/100 on her tests i decided to drop the class. other than that shes pretty funny to watch...she uses both hands to write on the board!..its crazy
Hard to understand and not very helpful in studying.
I hate this teacher. She is the worst teacher I have ever had.
Shes the worst professor at kent, if you have her on your schdule, drop now
I've never gotten a good math grade. Her constant demand for working hard paid off. She was a little hard to understand at times, but not that hard. I thought she was really good overall.
She knows her stuff but has a hard time getting it across due to her bad english! She seems irritated and mean but i think its only bc the students always talked about her and made fun of her :( She trys her best to explain but Im warning you the hw and class work is MUCH easier then the quizzes and final! Get a tutor...
....run....
She is the worst on making things clear and was really bad at explaining things.
run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you cant understand her at all and she does not teach well at all
The class is very demanding. IF you miss a class here and there be ready to buckle down and catch up. She moves at a quick pace, and teaches in a backward teaching manner--- assigns homework first then teaches the lecture the next day. She is very detailed, a little crazy and rough around the edges. Ive always struggled with math but I passed!
she sucks, she'll answer your questions but it's almost like she doesn't know them herself. She moves too fast, she's always late to class, then always runs over time, forgets what she assigned you and what you're supposed to turn in. It's ridiculous, she's ridiculous. DROP!
She is freaking horrible. Seriously study the book as much as possible and just prepare yourself for questions you would not even know to be on the test. Constantly didn't know how to solve problems, late every day to class and blames it on a copier, horrible. I learned absolutely nothing from her.
She is by far the worst professor ive EVER had. Late everyday, cant speak english, assigns homework without teaching material, unexpected quizzes, lots of homework, needs help from class to complete EXAMPLE problems, wrong answers at times, and she is ALWAYS in a foul mood. DROP NOW!
i did not like her at all. she wasnt a good teacher at all.
Always late, grumpy, and giving homework. She gave homework everyday, and it was very time consuming. There were also many tests and quizes and group projects. whenever she did sample problems she would get the wrong answer. Bad attitude, and bad knowledge. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS
Seriously the worst class of my college career. Take this course if you want an excuse to fail out of college. She has no idea what she's doing and messes up when grading quizzes. Her tests are on material not even covered in class! Don't sign up for her if you value your GPA!
I took this class during the school year and had no idea what was going on, and failed with a D. I took this class over the summer and it was sooo much better! As long as you attempt your homework every night you get a perfect score! She took thins much slower than the previous teacher, and was so helpful. I passed the second time with an A-!
She's really not that bad. If you go to class you'll do fine, there's nothing on the tests that she doesn't go over in class. I though she was a good teacher.
Well, first of all, there is a bit of a language barrier, as she has an accent, but it's not too bad. She is nice, and she'll usually help you if you ask. There is frequently confusion about something... Once in awhile she messes up example problems. If you show up and take notes, the class isn't bad, but if you don't you can fall behind quickly.
Even though there is a bit of a language barrier, Professor Pham knows her stuff. Keep talking to her if there's a problem. QUESTION HER if she does not clarify assignment requirements!
She is very sweet professor but she is not very clear. However, if you go to talk with her, she will offer a lot of help. She cares about her students. So if you take her and you are not doing good, go talk to her and ask for help. She uses the book a lot! all her notes are taken out of the book.
I had her for Algebra 2 and 3. She doesnt talk b/c its all on computers so its nice. She strongly believes that you have to meet certain percentages every week but it doesnt really matter. On test days, you can just go in after class when everyone is gone and gives you more time. Easy class. Nice not having to be lectured.
took her online modeling algebra class on Learn. It was so confusing. Two many assignments in too many diff places; hard to keep track if you have other classes to worry about. dates are also all wrong. exams had questions we weren't supposed to study that week. easy if you keep track.
Awful teacher. I don't think she knew the subject matter at all. She was all around an atrocious teacher. Do not take her.
Seriously, just don't. She's not willing to stop and help if you don't understand the section. She moves very quickly and goes perfectly with the syllabus which is the only good thing. If you care about your GPA, stay away!
This teacher is horrible. She gives examples that are for more advanced math and doesn't understand why students are struggling. Over half the class failed because she wasn't able to help us. She changes how you do things, and even tells you the incorrect way to solve a problem. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
she might be hard to understand at times, but god forbid a professor actually makes you study.. shes very sweet and cares about her students. she knows her stuff if you dont, its your job to get extra help which she offers!
Even though she can be nice, she doesn't know her material as much as I would expect from a professor. She also does not know how to organize a class as most of her homework questions are due at 10 am the day before class when most professors set the time at 11:59 pm. the day its due. Try to avoid her class because she doesn't explain things well.
If you can bear her english, you'll do fine if you do the work. An ALEKS class, meaning that the ENTIRETY of the work is done on a computer, solving math problems. The workload for this, and all ALEKS classes, verges on insurmountable if you don't do well on the Day-1 'what-do-you-know-so-far' test. The ONLY teaching is done by you to yourself.
Cant understand her. Has no idea what she is talking about-has to ask the student helpers. Barely updates blackboard. Every class she gives reading quizzes and every week she also gives quizzes on material. A ton of online homework and group work that she doesn't give you enough time to do. Only good thing is that she exam Q's come from review.
I've never had a prof that made me want to drop out more than this one! her exams always had mistakes. She made even the simple math complex. she asks you to use your calculator in class but never allows it on tests. she kept adding quizzes on top of quizzes & people had to correct her all the time bc she would go to fast and mess her math up.
This is the worst class I've ever taken in my life. You cannot understand anything she says. She relies more on group work than actual notes. DROP IT WHILE YOU CAN.
This teacher was one of the worst i have ever had in my life. If you are good at math then you can teach yourself and do fine but she marks wrong answers on quizzes that are right and if you don't catch them you won't get credit. Even on her tests too she will mark the wrong answer as right. You can't understand her and she is so disorganized.
You know a class is bad when the student aids are in the corner falling asleep... This class was terrible. She mis-graded our tests every single time and would have to re grade them. She would give us in class examples and then say she did it wrong. I hate math, and she did not help whatsoever. RUN WHILE YOU CAN .
I took this class my first semester of my freshman year and I wish someone would've told me to run!! I had to teach myself a majority of the material through the online homework and the book. She assigns alot of confusing group work and she picks who your group partners will be! She miss graded EVERY exam.
Very unorganized as far as grading, homework, and classwork. Would not reccomend.
Lectures always feel long. Little to no help when it comes to class time. So hard to understand that not even the class tutors know what she's talking about or would always have to correct her. Overall, you basically teach yourself EVERYTHING!
If I knew how bad she was I would have changed classes. Nice, but I had to correct her several times myself and on tests. She admitted she made a mistake but still not give back credit. Not to be disrespectful, but she does not know how to use proper grammar so when she asked for the answer, I had to explain to her and her TA what a preposition was
She's beyond confusing and extremely disorganized. I'm lucky I took stats in high school or I would've never passed. I had to teach myself everything using the book or youtube tutorials. Lots of pointless group work, and she waits until the last 15 minutes of class to give quizzes.
DO NOT TAKE CLASS WITH HER. Her lectures are so confusing that you have to teach yourself all the material. She messes up while doing work on the board and students must correct her all the time. If you ask for help she gets mad at you and makes you feel stupid. If you can switch out of her class do it ASAP.
I would NOT recommend anyone take her class. I had to teach myself the material in order to pass the quizzes & exams even after going to each class. Most students in her class are struggling for a decent grade while other classes are doing fine. Her blackboard grades make no sense either. Final is worth 25% of your grade so choose your prof wisely!
She is literally the worst professor I've ever had. The class structure is based on group work, and they're assigned to you. Group member withdraws? Too bad, have to do it yourself. If there's an option to take a different professor: DO IT. DO NOT TAKE HER. Once asked if there were any questions, watched someone raise their hand, then ignored them.
I took her class online because I'm too busy to dedicate classroom time. Her tests are awful. Derivatives will become your worst enemy. Her lectures are nonexistent. There is no extra credit. She makes so many mistakes that she's lucky the computer grades your homework. Can't believe Kent State takes your money and allows this level of amateurism.
She is an awful teacher do not take this class, take it online if you can because that is the only way you learn
you learn off youtube so the only reason you go to class is to turn in papers. my little sister could teach it just as well
I took her Intuitive Calculus class last semester and it was so unnecessarily difficult. She barely teaches anything, most of the time during class I had to block out everything she said otherwise I would end up more confused. I learned more through the resources in MyLabsPlus. And the class is based around group work, take that as you will...
Just awful she does not know how to teach
Very difficult class and is very hard to understand
Terrible at explaining anything, I regret taking her for calculus which is already a harder class, made even harder by having a terrible professor. She is so unorganized and messes up everyones grades. I don't understand how she is allowed to teach this class. I only took this class because it was a good time, but don't do it.
Speaks really good English. Easy to understand. Describes the material matter well and does multiple repetitions for you. Expects a lot of homework but she is a very helpful teacher. Do not need the textbook.... but you NEED the online access code to web assign...
Shes one of the best teachers i have ever had. Look forward to her class everyday. she is very helpful and she really cares about her students. she is very well spoken and easy to understand. her english is phenomenal.
She's a nice enough teacher and honestly cares about how her students do, but she gets very confused easily if you try and correct her while she's doing a problem if she wrote something incorrect. Pretty unclear when it comes to some styles of her teaching, but helpful with one on one questions. Moves very fast pace, don't skip class.
If you took Calc BC in high school and did well, you should be able to do fine in her class. Otherwise, you will most likely not pass unless you really involve yourself. She's an awful teacher and doesn't explain how to do anything. You are expected to teach yourself the material the night before and come to class with only a few questions.
She does not teach you at all. You may find this class easy if you are pretty good at math but I always thought I was decent at math and ended with a C-
Professor Pham runs a tight shift but if you're willing to put in the work you will be successful.
Very hard class. Best advice is to receive one on one help, have a youtube tab opened everytime you're doing homework, and make sure that your homework is completed on time. She truly does care about her students so don't hesitate to send her an email or go to her office with questions. Tests are difficult but you can retake your lowest one.
she is literally the worst ever professor at kent and if you ever ever ever wanna take this class dont take it with her she can barely speak any english and you cant understand her at all or anything its awful
T Pham seems to get confused often. The stats class had easy material but her method of communicating the lesson was not well done. As long as you read the book before the reading quizzes and review the class notes the quizzes/exams are easy. 4 exams, 25-30 questions each. Reading quizzes/attendance every class. You can retake quizzes.
She is very unclear and doesn't explain things well at all. I had her for statistics and ended up teaching myself most of the material covered. I would highly recommend not taking her for stats, and if you do make sure you find a good tutor.
Quizzes and test everyday, doesn't give enough time to complete them, and most of the time they're not accessible online and she gets mad that you have to take a paper test. If you want to understand what she's teaching you must read textbook or you'll be completely lost. Tons of group assignments and homework.
Professor Pham is one of the best professors I have had. If you are willing to put in the work, you will do great. She gives a lot of homework, but it really does help. If you are having trouble, she will go out of her way to help you. Several times she gave me the chance to redo a quiz or offer me extra help. She really cares how you do!
Tuyet is extremely unorganized. I had her for statistics; perhaps this isn't her best area of math, but she sometimes would mess up a problem on the board and get it wrong. She is very helpful if you ask her questions one on one, but during class.. eh. The homework load was very annoying but doable.
Avoid this professor. Doesn't know how to explain the material clearly, not good in front of the class. When you ask her how to do something one on one, she gets frustrated and will walk away. She doesn't like when you challenge her on the material. The worst professor I have had so far. Stay clear from her.
She teaches very fast and makes no sense. Constantly gives quizzes and tests and you basically have to teach yourself everything.
Worst teacher for such a hard class. She is God awful and unless you took calc in high school and are already good at it, you won't pass with a high grade. Expect the worst. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
Professor Pham is a person who cared about her student's success. I had a 59% during midterms and studied 1 on 1 with her a lot during her office hours, and she had weekly study tables you can go to for extra help. I ended with a 74% from all of the help she had given me to learn the material. Excellent professor.
she truly cares about students and goes out of her way to help those struggling. her English is great, no issues understanding. follow the syllabus, work hard, and attend class. take advantage of office hours.
I had her for Stats and the class itself was not hard, but she was not the best at teaching it. She went WAY too fast and nothing she ever said made sense. Also the quizzes and exams never matched anything that we did on homework. Sometimes she will have us do homework on lessons that we haven't even covered in class yet.
One of the worst professors Ive ever had. Doesnt know the material, teaches concepts wrong, and is just overall a rude woman. Had to teach ourselves these concepts and/or get a tutor. On the bright side, I made a few friends while bonding over our disgust of this professor.
I was only in her class for two weeks before I dropped out. It is very difficult to understand what she is saying because she doesn't seem to understand much English. I am usually an all A student but in this class I was receiving a C. Attendance is taken everyday, there is homework every class day, a quiz every week, and reading assignments.
she's is extremely hard to understand, and makes the problems so much more difficult then they have to be. She makes us do all this work for the homework and none of it is on the tests.
WORST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD. Could not understand a thing she said, very heavy accent, rudest professor, would never ever ever in a million year everrrrrrrrrr refer anyone to this professor. If you have her, remember this, C's get degrees
Hard tests/quizzes, a lot of homework, cant teach this class well at all.
Pham is the worst professor ever. She does not respect that different students do not learn the same way as everyone else. Her accident is thick, her handwritting is awful, and her notes are a mess. Come to every class and you can retake a test at the end of the year. Week 13 there was a quiz with the highest grade at 61% she did not curve it.
If you get Pham for statistics, please pick another professor. She assigns homework, but then when it times come for the quiz or exam, it has absolutely nothing to do with what the homework was on. She will not go back and explain anything in further detail. Instead, she will blame you for not understanding and move on. Overall, bad professor.
Had Pham for intuitive calc and honestly I would not have passed this class if it weren't for her. very difficult class so regardless of the teacher there is a huge load of hw, prepwork and hard material but she always gave me extra points (just for showing my work or seeing i tried) because she knew me from going to her study sessions. I liked her
If you go to her study sessions, and her office hours it will help. I suggest to get a tutor right off the bat anyways because it will give you extra help. In my case, we only met twice a week for two hour lectures. She wants her students to pass but she is very hard. Make a good bond and she will help you too!
Professor Pham is very intelligent. And I think most of these comments are first year students who don't know how to time manage and study. She teaches multiple maths, and is very caring to students- wants them to do good. The only con- her tests & quizzes are HARD and not like the homework or in class examples. Most the stats professors are hard!
Makes the class 12 times harder than it needs to be. Worst professor I have EVER had.
I took the class online and it was extremely easy. She was also very available outside of class to help you if needed but she always has good video lectures to watch. TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE!!
Tons of homework and quizzes, and weekly discussion posts. With all the work, you'd assume the "fluff" could save your grade. Nope. Over 50 assignments of discussions, quizzes, and homework are worth, all together, 300 pts. 4 exams and a comprehensive final are included in the 700 points left Score low on any exam, you are guaranteed to fail.
Very helping, gives lot of extra credit opportunities.
She teaches concepts in a minimalistic way. She explains the simple stuff longer than necessary and does not explain the harder stuff in enough detail. She is understanding, but her teaching methods leave much to ask for.
Terribly hard to understand for the first month if you've never had a foreign prof before. Moves way way WAY too fast. Isn't helpful in class, only helpful outside of class in a private setting. You can maintain a good grade if you go to tutoring or spend the time to teach yourself.
She is the worst!!! Avoid at all costs!
Awful professor. Makes everything so much harder then it needs to be. Do not take this course.
The worst professor I have ever had. Im pretty sure she doesnt even know what she was talking about. I would NEVER take her class again.
Professor Pham was overall a decent professor. She truly cared about her students If you were struggling and showed that you were willing to put in hard work, such as seeing her after class, asking questions, extra credit she would bump your grade. However sometimes she gets things wrong when she teaches and makes the class harder than it has to be
She has an accent so its hard to understand. She works very quickly and doesnt explain much. If math isnt your strong suit, I would not take this course. All she does it write down the problem on the board, doesnt explain it, then moves on. I read reviews saying I shouldnt take this course, unfortunately I didnt listen.
If you aren't strong in math, take this class with a different professor. She makes a lot of little mistakes, and if you don't catch them, her class will be very confusing.
Listen, don't take her unless you are already proficient in math. She is useless as a teacher. Her grading is absolute hell, a 50 question homework assignment is only worth 3 points if you happen to get above 90%. If you are forced to take her, you will need a tutor. Try to avoid her at all costs, mention to counselors that people have warned you.
Hardest class Ive taken here. Im not proficient in math so its hard to follow along. She sometimes works out problems on the projector but doesnt explain it well. I highly recommend a tutor. I dreaded going to this class everyday but attendance is mandatory so if you want a decent grade dont skip.
Such a bad professor, doesn't explain anything well, and doesn't know what she is doing. Be prepared to teach yourself everything for this class.
I did not listen to the warnings on RMP because I took the class in high school and thought I could pass no matter the professor. Dont do it! I consistently got 90s on my tests and somehow ended up with a 79. Shes hard to understand, and it feels like she doesnt want you to succeed. Not taking her class will be your best decision in college.
Don't take her. She is rude to students who do not understand. Her policies regarding bonus points are a joke. She is directly spiteful and rude to classes if they are unable to reach a correct answer, despite the fact that this shows her teaching methods are the issue. Heed this warning: avoid her at all costs!
In case you're wondering if she is really "that bad", the answer is YES. Her exam retake policy is a joke, the only professor I have ever known who will possibly lower your grade for retaking an exam. She doesn't explain things clearly then becomes upset when students do not understand. Reschedule your entire semester if you have to, don't take her
She's awful. She moves too fast and unless you have a tutor or you somehow teach yourself the class, you are not going to understand anything in her class. DON'T TAKE HER!!!
Statistics is a difficult course, no matter who you have. Pham is caring, and it is obvious she tries her best to help students succeed in the class with all the extra credit opportunities. If you listen clearly, her accent is not difficult to understand. Read the textbook and do the homework before coming to class, and you will be fine!!
Tuyet seems to be a good person and wants to do good in the world, however she just is not the right fit to teach a classroom. It is clearly seen that she has a 1.8/5 already for a reason. She doesn't speak proper English which makes it hard to even understand what she's saying. Along with this she is clueless in the classroom.
Ms. Pham is a fine teacher. She's definitely not the worst as some people here claim. It's a tough class but if you pay attention and dedicate time to learn you'll do just fine.
Very good professor overall. Students just need to be willing to put the work in. Her intuitive calc class requires students to do their learning BEFORE class time. As long as you keep up you'll be fine. Gave study guides before every test. Tests are very similar to the study guides. I didn't use the book, went to tutoring every week, and passed
my high school stats teacher taught stats better than she has. Half the time you can't understand her, other half she skipping through topics and getting confused with herself, you'll never understand what's going on in here. Gives homework on topics you haven't learned yet, not worth it.
Prof for intro to stats, yes stats can be hard, but even harder when the prof doesn't teach. All she does is read the problems and doesn't teach it. She always has an attitude when we ask questions or say we haven't learned that yet. She thinks the txtbk does all the teaching for her. She is never specific and doesn't say how to do questions.
I wouldn't say she's a great teacher, but considering the circumstances of being remote this semester, she did a lot to help out. She allowed a formula sheet for a final exam and offered a lot of extra credit throughout the semester. It's true u have to teach urself a lot but from talking to others that's how all the math classes are here.
I would not recommend this course to anyone. It is very difficult and tests are nothing like homework. Homework can be up to 100 questions with how many parts are on each question and only 3 points. Professor Pham tried her hardest with tough circumstances but it was very difficult to follow. The exams were proctored and that didn't always work. :(
Took this course for Calculus. OH MY GOD - so much work. HW is due every Saturday. There are 5 exams total. Quite a lot. Nice professor though, can reach her anytime and she'll work with you to understand the material.. But this is calculus we're talking about. Be prepared to figure it out, or fail. Lot of work
I'll give her credit-- this semester was rough and she did as much as she could. However, there was SO much homework & there were weird, confusing discussion boards due every Saturday. The lecture videos were also finicky-- sometimes they didn't load properly & you had to teach yourself. You'll have to work HARD for a good grade in her class.
The worst class I have ever taken so far. Homework takes hours to do and there is a ton of it. She is very disorganized and will change due dates on a whim. It's hard to understand and very difficult to follow along when she is working out problems. Find another option.
Created an account on here just to warn you about how terrible this teacher is. I'm only 3 weeks into the semester and I already want to bash my skull in. You know how teachers are supposed to teach? Ms. Pham apparently didn't get the memo. You literally have to teach yourself everything in the class. Expect zero help from her whatsoever.
This class takes roughly 8-10 hours per week to complete, likely more. Homeworks are extensive, and if you score lower than 83% you may as well have not even tried, you're getting a zero. Multiple tutors looked over the work with me and all have struggled to help, the content is so difficult. Quiz formats change weekly. Avoid if possible.
This is the worst class -WORST CLASS- I have ever taken. Homework takes hours to do and there is a ton of it, not to mention she won't count HW if you don't get at least 83%. She is very disorganized and will change due dates and give quizzes on a whim. Very hard to understand in class due to her own answers being wrong. Find ANYTHING else.
At first I was going to give Ms. Pham a lower rating. After waiting a while to give my review, I discovered that she is actually a good teacher. The class is hard and she is rough sometimes. However, she took the time out of her day multiple times for 3 hours to help me study. She really helps those who put in the work.
Intro to Statistics here: Professor Pham is really nice and is willing to help if you actually care about your grade. Tons of homework but if you do your stuff a day before its due and give yourself some time to ask questions to clarify stuff in class youll do fine. Most people dont like this class because they dont put in the work.
I am usually a person who lovesss math but this class was NOT IT. Maybe it was worse because I had to take the class online but I would NOT if at all possible take this professor. Communication was awful, sometimes never responded to emails. Did not teach material, simply solved one problem of a concept and expected students to comprehend.
Let us get some things straight. I am taking her statistic class, math 10041, online and it was not like the reviews. There is a lot of homework and while you are graded on accuracy, you get UNLIMITED attempts at correcting problems you missed. It is just to motivate you to practice. There is a lot of textbook use and tons of quizzes. Not too bad.
I took Ms Phams online calculus class and decided I had to drop it after the first week. I am 24 years old with ADHD and have enjoyedeeded in many math classes, including statistics. But I could not understand her very, very thick Asian accent combined with her poor handwriting. It made learning IMPOSSIBLE for me. +See everyone else's reviews.
I took Dr Pham's online modeling algebra course. She frequently forgot to post the weekly quizzes which seems fine, but they'd just be pushed to the next week and we'd have more work to get done by Saturday. I feel like the semester wasn't planned out well because towards the end we got loads of more homework the felt like rushed assignments.
She was awful. Take another professor
The worst professor I have ever had. Does not care about due dates, screws us over countless times and yells at us when we do not turn hw in on time BUT THEN SHE MESSES UP ALL THE DUE DATES?? I am not good at math but she is the worst teacher to teach math ESPECIALLY ONLINE. IF YOU CAN TAKE STATS IN THE SUMMER AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE!
Professor Pham is amazing. I might be biased because I had her for a 100% online course but she was extremely flexible with extensions on anything from homework to exams. She is super understanding of any reasoning for a needed extension. Would def recommend her if you're willing to put in a bit of extra effort to overcome her language barrier
Professor Pham made this course unnecessarily stressful. I had a problem with proctorio, which I had never had an issue with before, and when I asked her about it she immediately accused me of trying to get out of having to take proctored exams which was ridiculous. She is rude and condescending. Would not recommend.
so so so much homework, 15 quizzes, 2-4 homework assignments, and discussion board posts due every Saturday. pham is a really nice professor but is not considerate about the amount of homework. 5 exams and all proctored. if you aren't good at managing time to watch lectures/do hw/ study, don't take this class
Terrible! I went into this class already passing much higher math classes and thought this would be easy. IT WAS NOT. Everything I thought I knew, she made me question. She seemed to not know what she was doing and confused more people than she helped. Had to correct her on many things. Definitely try to avoid her.
You basically have to teach yourself. You have to get at least an 83% on each homework for it to count towards your grade. You also have to do 85% or more of the assignments to be able to retake your lowest exam grade. There are discussion board assignments to do as well that can be a burden as it's easy to miss them.
Lots of work but that was expected as this is a college level math course. Great professor that is always willing to help. I would 100% take a class with her again!
I took calculus 1 for a second time with professor pham instead and excelled. She is a wonderful teacher and very knowledgeable about all content. She is always willing to help and will have office hours right after class that she does not time, I stayed 2 hours after class for help before a test and it was no issue. ATTENDANCE MATTERS.
Pham's math class is tough, but if you stay on top of the work and use helpful resources like Unstuck ai, you can succeed. The lectures and homework are challenging, but the professor is willing to help. Worth the effort for a solid understanding of the material.
Pham's lectures and study guides are similar to the exams, so you can pass if you pay attention and do them. One thing that did annoy me was the amount of homework per week, but depending on how fast we go, it can get shortened. Overall, very good professor!
Try to avoid! She is very nice do not get me wrong but she gives so much homework and is constantly messing up during the lecture. She will do a problem in class and students usually had to correct her because she never caught the mistake. You need to basically teach yourself if you want to pass. This class is also so time consuming.
Good Professor overall due to her willingness to help students. But she tends to mess up the practice problems during lecture which gets annoying and her exams are harder than any hw or practice exam. She gives some online proctored quizzes and exams, and they are harder than in person ones since she doesn't give partial credit on them.
