Great teacher. Explains everything perfectly. Very sweet woman and will answer any questions you have and make sure everyone understands before moving on. Not a lot of extra work other than Math XL, no bookwork, and quizzes every now and then. Test are usually from the notes. If you are taking Calculus 1 or 2, YOU WANT TWILLA MILLER!
Best math teacher I've ever taken. I took Calc 1 & 2 from her and she is great at explaining difficult topics. Her tests are fair, and if you have been keeping up with the MathXL and going to class, it's not bad. The tests come straight from the notes. She is so nice and helpful, and I would take her agian in a heartbeat. I never opened my textbook
I really liked the way Mrs. Miller taught. She is really clear about how to do everything. I had to study a lot because im not the best at math and have had really bad math teachers in the past. I would definatley recommend Miller. Good teacher, good class. She really helps you.
Great teacher! Her notes are so clear and a great reference for the test. Take her class! She's the best math teacher I've ever had and I really liked calculus after this.
Awesome teacher. Very helpful. Posts notes online to print out. Also posts previous quizzes and for the final, posts old tests. Very happy to teach math. Answers questions happily, and slows down if you think she's going too fast. Best math teacher i've ever had.
AMAZING TEACHER! i had an awesome teacher for calc in highschool but mrs.miller hit it out of the ballpark. I ended up with a 98, and im not very good in math. Super helpful, especially with the quizzes and homework. will sometimes even give u the answers. Super recommended if you want to excel in calc!
Excellent professor, she makes sure you completely understand every problem/lesson. Her tests were easy for the most part. Overall, Mrs. Miller made Calculus seem easy!
I took her calc as an 8 week. It moved super fast, but she was helpful and always willing to give you extra attention. She's a great teacher, and you can tell that she really cares about her students and their success in the course.
Had her for 2413 & 2414 as 8-week classes. INCREDIBLE teacher. Really nice. Good grading system, very spread out between homework and tests, gives easy bonuses. In 2413, failed first two tests because I didn't do the short reviews she gives out, they tell you exactly what's gonna be on the exam. Somehow I managed a B. Maintaining an A for 2414. Daily homework 2-4 questions(easy), weekly online homework that you do until you get it right. Bonus can get you nearly 5 points on your final grade.
Having taking this class once at A&M she did amazing job of presenting material and made sure you understood one of the best profs i have ever had
She's by far the best Math prof I've ever had. She is clear, concise, and presents the material really well. She does lots of practice problems and I never stayed the whole time unless its exam day. She gives bonuses and online homework is great. Her tests look like novels but are fair and she grades with you in mind.
Very helpful and willing to help. As long as you do the work, you can do well in this class.
I took Miller for the summer and it was awesome. Test is like the notes and quizzes she gives out. studying the notes ands quizzes really helped a lot. Got A's on all the test and final exam. really simple class if you know basic algebra. never bought a book. Had fun with her and will take her again for any math class.
She is the best mathematics teacher I have ever had. Wish I could take her for Cal III. She's very sweet and very good at explaining the methods. As long as you come to class and do the quizzes she assigns, then you should get an A. She's very helpful in every aspect possible.
She is the easiest math professor I have ever had. She makes mistakes from time to time, there are alot of quizzes but are very easy and helpful for the tests. I recommend her she is an amazing teacher.
Taking Prof. Miller's Dual 8-week Calc1&Calc2 courses is probably the easiest way to knock both out at blinn and get the highest grades. Great teacher, very clear, nice, wants you to excel, is ready to help in office hours, gives extra credit, and remember, if you can do the HWK/review efficiently without any help, you should be at an A/B on test.
I took Cal 1 and Cal 2 with Miller and she was an amazing math teacher! She makes sure to teach you everything you need to know for the test and during lectures she drops hints about something that might be on the test, which is usually on the test. You have 4 test and a final and have homework every night but its super easy. STUDY NOTES FOR TEST!!
Mrs. Miller is awesome! Like others have said, this class is really easy if you know anything about algebra. I thought I was pretty good at algebra until I took this class, which is easy to fix in no time with her help. Not too much homework and gives fair bonuses! Take her!
Mrs. Miller is a wonderful math teacher but you definitely have to study for the tests! Assigned a take-home quiz and online assignment after every section. Very good at explaining everything and not going too fast. Gives a take-home "worksheet" that is 15 points of every test grade. Definitely take her if you want a pretty easy math class!
Mrs. Miller is a clear lecturer, she explains things well and does not go too fast! There is a bit of homework; take-home quizzes every class, as well as online work but it's never too long. She drops the two lowest quiz grades and replaces your lowest test grade with your final if your final is better. Take her class!
I took this class in an 8-week course so it may be a little different than the normal semester, but Prof Miller made things as easy as possible with the way she explained the material. She gives plenty of take-home quizzes and online homework for practice and gives reviews for the tests! I would recommend her for any math student!
had her for an 8 week course, she is amazing. gives you points where she can on the take home quizzes and gives great feed back on both quizzes and exams. only thing is that her reviews and test are not very similar. drops the lowest exam grade and replaces it with exam grade. and gives extra credit on exams. would take her in a heartbeat.
She gives good lectures and explains everything well. She is always available by email or office hours. She really tries to help you if you care about her class. Attendance is not mandatory, but it helps because she teaches a new topic everyday. Outside of class work is just like the notes. TAKE HER!
Mrs. Miller was the best!! Take her or you'll regret it.
One of the best math profs I've ever had. She went through every problem step-by-step and was extremely patient if someone was confused. Section of homework and take home quiz everyday, but it helps learn material. Take her, she's awesome!
All I can say that I wish she teach Cal 3. I took her for cal 1 and 2 and made A+ on both.
AMAZING! I am not a math person and have always struggled with it, but this prof made it so easy to understand. She puts printable notes online and explains things in multiple ways to make it easy. Most of it is on a calculator so there is no long formulas to memorize. NO (yes, I repeat no) WORK FROM THE TEXTBOOK!
8 week semesters go fast so be prepared to dedicate a fair amount of time to this class.
The absolute best professor I could have ever had. I had to drop Calc 2 at the beginning of the semester with another professor so I decided to try Mrs. Miller's 8 week course. I honestly wish I had taken her 8 week courses for both Calcs. I mad an A on every test, a 97% on the final, and a 98% because how good she was at explaining. Take her
I took her Calc 1&2 8 week classes and she is honestly one of the sweetest ladies. She takes the time to help if you don't understand something. tests were difficult but if you studied your course packet you'll be fine. It isn't an easy class but if you put in the work you will do well!
I loved Dr. Miller. I took Cal in HS and hated it and then took it with her and loved it! I would take her again in a heartbeat! She truly cares and is willing to help if you need it. TAKE HER!
I'd honestly go as far and say Miller is the best teacher/professor I have ever had. She makes things so easy to learn. You can literally sit outside of her office and ask her ANY question and she will answer. Honestly I can't emphasize how great of a professor she is. The only thing about her is if you're taking the 8 week course, be ready to work
Best professor I've ever had. She listens to students. She teaches and shows all the steps. Calc 2 is not an easy class but she gives you lecture notes that make it bearable. She also gives extra credit.
Professor Miller teaches math with the perspective of someone like me, I had not taken math for 5 years and she always brushed up on important things that were needed. She was always available outside of class and tells you what you need to know for the exams.
She teaches the class well and is very nice and caring. Sweet lady that will help you in class and even goes over homework in class when students ask questions about it. Wants you to do well and makes the class relatively easy.
I dont know if this was an off year or she hadnt taught this class before but it was awful. Me and 6 other students were lost the entire year. Her lectures are nothing like the online homework. Her tests are unpredictable. This year she got lost during her own lectures and had to tell us to forget info because she had taught us wrong.
Mrs. Miller is an ANGEL. I've never sat in a math class and have been able to follow along 100% of the time. She has gift and passion for teaching. She gives a heads up on what to study for exams, drops lowest homework/quiz grades, and replaces final exam grade with lowest exam grade, if it's an improvement. I have no regrets taking her. Amazing.
I took Ms Miller for calc 1 and 2, she is probably the best teacher I've taken in a long time, she explain the class like no other teacher, she makes sure we you can understand her lectures, it was tough class I study A LOT and spent a lot of time outside of her office working on her quizzes, well worth it, I got A in both classes
She is definitely the best calculus 1 2 teacher at Blinn. All these people got A's and you're probably thinking that she and this class is a piece of cake. LITERALLY all the questions on the tests were taken DIRECTLY off the notes but in different numbers, some test questions were on the notes. There are no trick questions on tests so LOOK at NOTES
Our professor for 1325 left mid-semester & Prof. Miller was our permanent sub. She is very nice and understanding with us considering she is used to teaching engineers (lol). Even though I didn't originally sign up thinking she'd be my prof, she was a great replacement and I would recommend her!
SO grateful to have taken her for Calculus1. She doesn't try to kill with stuff you don't need or make things harder for no reason. She simply wants to know you understand the concepts and does so in a very fair manner. At the end of the day this is a difficult subject, but shes willing to do her best to help you learn it. Wish she taught Cal3!
This is my second time taking miller and she is great! I had another prof for calc in the previous semester and had to drop and take her class this semester instead. it is not an easy class but she is the best there is!!!! great prof who really cares!
Mrs Miller was super clear in her lecturing, her grading criteria, and what was needed to accomplish. If you show up and do the homework, you understand calculus. Definitely, recommend her. Best math teacher I've had.
Professor Miller is the best math teacher I have ever had!! She made everything so clear and easy to understand. I really learned a lot from her and felt as if she cared how all of her students did. She was always so kind and also recorded all of her lectures and put them online in case you miss class! Overall one of the best profs I've ever had!
The BEST math teacher I have ever had and Im terrible at math. Took 1325 during summer 2 & never made below a 91 on the tests & finished with a 97 in the course. I will recommend her to anyone and everyone needing to take math at blinn
By far the best and nicest math teacher Ive ever had, eager to help and cares about her students, wants to help.
The use of the online textbook was minimal, and the take-home quizzes each class were reasonable. Overall she explained everything well and is a good math prof to have, especially compared to the rest of the department.
Professor Miller is such a great professor that I am taking her again for calc next semester! She offers 4-5 extra credit points on every exam. The reviews are extremely helpful and so are her lecture notes. If you pay attention in class and do your my math labs, take-home quizzes, and reviews then it is an easy A. I highly recommend her.
Amazing lectures . The exams are not that hard if you do the quizzes and the online hw. I took her for both cal 1 and cal 2. In cal 1 she gave a lot of extra credit but in cal 2 it was moderate. But still you can make an A easily if you are attentive and work out all the problems she provides. Love her.
Took Calc 2 with her - she explains the material very well and only teaches what you need to know for the quizzes and tests. Tests were identical to the take home quizzes. Do the online homework and pay attention in lecture and you'll be fine.
I've taken prof Miller for pre cal, cal1, and im currently in the middle of cal2 right now. She is LITERALLY the best math professor EVER. She goes into detail and explains things so well. I got a C in precal in high school but easily got an A in, not only precal, but cal1 as well. Please take her!
I loved having her as my professor. I had to take her class online due to covid which made it difficult but she's great at explaining the material. This class is hard but do not be afraid to reach out to her for help. Ask lots of questions because she will have a zoom meeting with you and explain everything.
Amazing professor!!!
Take this professor! She is the best, you will not regret it.
Miller is the best professor I've had at Blinn so far. She made Calc2 a breeze for me. She provided an EC opportunity for every test, she explains material really well (so pay attention in-class), and she is understanding of late work and such. I would recommend her above any other math prof. TAKE HER.
Cal 2 is a hard class. She's a good professor and gives you good study material. Study everything given to you and some outside sources like the organic chemist/professor Leonard on youtube and you have a good chance of getting a good grade.
I took this class in the summer and the only problem I had with the class was having too much homework. This class is very easy with this teacher, didn't even take notes and passed with an A in the class. Would highly recommend this teacher because the test review and quizzes she gives out is almost exactly like the tests.
Best math professor I've had a Blinn. She has quizzes due everyday, but her lectures are easy to follow and understand.
Pretty much what everyone else has been saying. She's a pretty great professor and I am taking her again for cal 2. Only critique might be that the reviews do not always prepare you for the exams, but if you understand what is on the quizzes and homework, you'll do fine on the exams
Super sweet and cares about her students. Gives lots of partial credit on quizzes, and lots of Mathlab homework. Tests are not like the reviews and are significantly harder than what she teaches. Rarely gives extra credit and does not curve. Her quizzes and homework are graded with the same percentage which is strange IMO. sweet lady hard class
Her lectures feel so long, but they are super easy and she gives you notes to print out so you don't have to do them by hand. Her reviews are okay, they don't really put exactly all the things you need to know for the tests but they are still kind of easy, not much of a blow off class but also not a hard course at all.
Professor Miller is absolutely phenomenal! There is a considerable amount of MyMathlab Homework and a quiz or two every week, but you're typically well prepared for the exams. She's very nice and caring as well. I plan to take her again for Calc 2, highly recommend her!
I took Prof Miller for both Precalculus and Calculus and I LOVED her! She made the course so understandable and her exams were very similar to her notes! If you put in the effort, attend class, and do the homework and quizzes you will absolutely make an A. She is the sweetest and most understanding professor. Take her!!!!!!!
Professor Miller is an excellent teacher. She made a class that is known to be very hard and made it very easy to understand. Her teaching style is great because she explains each concept very detailed. She gives 5 extra credit bonus points on each test. Records the lectures and puts them online, so don't even need to be in person.
Mrs. Miller is awesome! Homework for each unit is completion grade but can be long at times. Quizzes are on your own time and she will grade them but gives good feedback for your tests. Tests are easy as long as you do your homework and study your review! Shes very accommodating and easy to work with. Highly recommend even if youre not good at math
She is a great professor, very good at explaining things, has lots of good examples, and doesn't waste time with unnecessary information in her lectures.
the absolute best math professor I have ever had. If you are looking to learn while having a somewhat easy class, then this class is perfect. She knows exactly what she is talking about and makes it very clear in her lectures, and she goes over everything you may see on the test. The tests, quizzes, and home works are pretty easy and not too hard.
I took Prof. Miller for Cal 1&2. I can tell that she really wanted me to succeed and was helpful throughout the classes. If you show up to class, she will give you inside scoops to extra credit and what to expect on exams. Overall a great professor and very caring person.
Ive only had good experiences with math professors here at blinn but she was by far the best. I was worried about taking Calc 2 bc of its reputation but professor Miller teaches very well. As far as class content she has the normal my math lab home work, quiz given every class and due the following class period, 4 test and 1 final. TAKE HER!
Took during the summer as a 5-week class. Because of the time, it was very fast-paced as expected. As someone who barely passed precal at TAMU, I found this class easier. Gave an ample amount of extra credit which raised my B to an A. Lots of content covered, but doable if it's your only class and you lock in. Answered emails fast. Great professor.
Mrs. Miller is an exceptional professor!! She is clear in her lectures and even records them online. The class is hard, but with preparation and completing her test reviews, you can succeed in her class. Quizzes are usually due the next class day and can help a lot with the exams, too. I recommend her to anyone taking Cal-2!
This professor is amazing! She clearly explains what she expects and is very understanding. Professor Miller teaches the material well and makes it easy to understand. She also gives extra credit! Take her!
u have 4 exams (replaces the lowest with final grade) + take-home quizzes (open note) + hw (unlimited tries), literally BEST calc prof explains concepts in a non-confusing way and gives you both easy & hard examples to get a better understanding. She also doesn't waste time teaching unnecessary concepts. put in the work and youll get a B minimum
Took this class online and class was easy to navigate through. Exams are 60% with final being 15%, so it influences your grade a lot. Doesn't teach unnecessary concepts and lecture videos were helpful. Gives extra credit for almost every exam and gives a lot of partial credit for your work.
LOVE Professor Miller, she was super helpful and explained concepts in depth. I've taken Math 150/Math 151 and decided to take Math 152 (Math 2414) at Blinn for transfer credit and she was a way better professor than my A&M profs. She offers bonus points on exams, and she wants you to pass her class! Challening/short quiz/hw assignments, exam heavy
Professor Miller is AMAZING. Never thought I'd pass with an A. She gives lecture notes to follow with videos, weekly quizzes to test your evaluation, and extra credit for each exam. Lectures vary from bite sized to 80+ mins; overall well structured & easy to grasp. Def recommend if ur bad at math. Whoever gave the 2 star review, see me @room 341.
Mrs. Miller was a great professor. Her lectures were really easy to follow and understand and she was really quick to respond to any questions I had. She even gave extra credit for simply reding her emails. I would highly recommend this instructor!
I took the 5 week summer 1. I had taken calc 1 in high school and precalc at A&M where I got a B. Prof. Miller is so nice and grades so fast- take her even if math is not your thing. Each topic has 1 quiz and 1 hmk so be prepared to spend time on the work even though its not super hard. If you watch the lectures you'll be good.
I honestly don't know why there are so many good reviews. Majority of people struggled on our exams and didn't do well. No curves, rare extra credit and the exams are difficult. She is a horrible lecturer, as well. I have to teach myself everything with YouTube and so do my classmates
Lectures are just too long and really boring, honestly half the class was missing every lecture and only showed up for exams. Content itself just depends on the person for those negative comments personally the exams were just fine by watching simple khan academy or online vids. Pretty straightforward, Hoemwork due before most lectures.
No partial credit, no curves. The extra credit is only 5 points and you have to do every step the way she does it or else you dont get credit.. even if its correct. She is not good at explaining her work either. She doesnt go into depth like the hw and quizzes do. Her exams are also more difficult than the hw and quizzes
Miller is a really good prof at Blinn. I think her class is too easy for Calc 2 but what can you do. She had our grades in fast, and was always available unlike most profs. To pass this class just practice her notes and quizzes and you'll get an A.
Very hard course, but professor Miller is a good teacher. She goes in depth with every subject and her teaching style is very straight forward. If you ask questions, you'll get a good response. There's homework for every unit and the tests matter a lot, so study hard.
