studying takes 15 minutes per exam..multipul choice..lecture notes are enough, no reading required. he'll explain until the whole class get's it. SOO FUNNY and really nice. take him for intro to logic.

You should take this class because he is so hot and sometimes when he rights on the board u can see his abs when his shirt lifts up. geez makes me go numb just thinking about it.

Outstanding instructor that keeps your attention with his humor. The ease of his class is because of how well he teaches you the material. You will actually learn the material. Tests and quizzes are straight forward, no curve ball trick questions. I highly recommend his class.

Awesome teacher, even made logic somewhat entertaining. Funny teacher, easy hmwk, easy course. Class goes by pretty quick.

Logic is at times difficult to learn. However, he makes class interesting and fun. His sarcastic humor makes the class go by quickly. He'll probably be the coolest professor cause he's probably in his late thirties and acts like he's in his 20s.

I'm going to be honest. Logic sucks balls. It's boring and can be confusing, but Hower recognizes this, even jokes about it, and tries to make class go by quickly. He's very clear, and you might have to be brain dead to not think his class is funny at times. And he reads these reviews.

Hower is an awesome teacher; he makes you not want to kill yourself in class, which takes talent. Talks a lot about cheese, his cats, his mom, and the gym. He'll will explain everything til his face is blue and his muscles have deflated, all so you will understand.Even the stuff a retard should know

People in my class never paid attention and talked all the time so I sat in the people who pay attention corner. He is really sweet and a great teacher. People shouldn't suck so much in his class and should pay attention.

Nice arms... He is a good teacher, able to laugh at himself when he makes a mistake. Is very helpful and will explain stuff over and over again. Talks about his cat a lot... But he is probably the best logic teacher at USD, and he knows no one actually wanted to take Logic, so he doesn't take it too seriously. Did I mention he has REALLY nice arms?

Easiest class I have ever taken. He will explain everything until everyone understands more than they ever wanted to, and is always available if you need more help. Homework never takes more than 30 min and the tests are exactly like the homework. If you go to class regularly and stop talking about how hot he is long enough to hear what he is saying, there is no reason not to get an A.

Honestly, logics is a hard class and may be very confusing at times. However, Hower is the BEST you can ask for teacher wise. He is very energetic, funny, and makes class go by fast. He is very easy, understanding,and no attendance policy. He will explain everything until you understand it. u have 4 tests and a cumm final, but he gives study guides

I understood Logic and enjoyed it because Hower made it fun to learn. He is funny and he likes to tell personal stories during class which are always great. Homework is short and his tests aren't that bad especially since he pretty much tells you everything you need to know for it. Besides all that..he's HOT. Def. take him if you have the option.

Hower is a great, fun professor. I had him at 8 in the morning, and even though it was so early, he always had me laughing. He really goes over the stuff until everyone understands, and he always tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. He is a great guy, and I totally recommend him.

I dont think I even need to say that he's HILARIOUS and EASY. I switched in 3 weeks late and he helped me catch up. He is very understanding and really knows how stressful and how demanding the life of a college student can be. He'd offered 3 extra credit opportunites and we're half way through the semester. Take Hower for logic. He is such a great teacher. His homework load is small, but it helps you to understand-no more than 20 mins each night. He is really funny too. Take him for logic and you will do fine. I'm pretty sure no one in my class got less than a B.

Hower is amazing! If you go to class you'll get an A for sure because he breaks things down so that anyone can understand it. He gives extra credit too! Just do the homework (10-20 mins per night) and go to class and you'll get an A. Plus he's hot and funny.

He basically sets the class up so you don't have to do anything except the assigned homework (which you should do even though he rarely collects it). you don't even really have to study, he provides information for you on his tests!! it's like he includes a cheat sheet for every exam. take him. he's cute and funny too!

If you don't get an A in this class, you should probably be going to SDSU. Perhaps the ONLY guy who could've taught me logic. Material is dry and useless, and Hower knows it. He's funny and knowledgable and made me feel reluctant to miss his class. Hiiiighly recomend him for Logic, since we all have to take it anyways.

Funniest professor, and you actually learn too. Everybody who said the quizzes were a hassle is just a lazy bum haha he told us ahead of time when the quizzes were going to be, so all you had to do was read for it...and it takes 30mins-45mins tops to read. otherwise, exam is 100percent lecture, and he's a very fair grader.

Dr. Hower is by far one of the best professors I've had at USD. Extremely funny, light hearted, and might I add very handsome. I loved his class and I loved how he challenged me on certain topics. Ethical Theory with him was educational, life changing, and very fun.

If you can take this class, take it. Hower is awesome and his classes are actually interesting and entertaining. Workload isn't bad and grading is totally reasonable. Really funny guy and a really interesting class.

Professor is hilarious. He made a difficult subject really easy to understand. The assigned readings are difficult but his lectures are fantastic and make things much clearer. As long as you put in a little effort you will get a good grade. I would take any class that this professor taught.

Professor Hower is a savage! Extremely smart and driven. Even though he is down to earth, don't mistake it for weakness. His exams are tough but he equips you with everything you need to know.

As long as you go to class and take good notes and study them accordingly to the study guide, you will get an A! He bakes for the last day of class and really sweet and cool. 2 essays, 2 exams and a final which are not too bad if you follow the study guide. Definitely take him!

Phil 110 is a pretty interesting class. Pretty much just lectures about different philosophers and types of thoughts. Tests are straight from the lecture. Don't even buy the book. Hower is super cool and hilarious. One of the best teachers at USD; everyone loves him. I highly recommend taking his class.

Best philosophy teacher I've had. Lectures were so fun and interesting. If you go to class and write down everthing he puts on the board, you will have all the info you need for the tests. The rest are not hard if you study. No trick questions or anything. Basically he just wants to see that you learned something

By far my most loved prof in uni. There hasn't been a lecture where the entire class didn't erupt into laughter. His lectures are very in depth and interesting. The exams are directly based off lectures so study notes and you will be A-okay. A very compassionate person who is always willing to help! 100% would recommend.

Prof. Hower is a great guy, and I would definitely take him again. Very, very little homework which is good for all reasons other than it leaves your test scores as the determinants of your grade. Classes are full blown lectures the entire time, but he is entertaining enough to make them manageable.

Best professor at USD. Lectures are super interesting, and he uses a lot of personal examples. Brilliant guy, great sense of humor and is very willing and able to ensure you get a good grade as long as you show you care about his class. "Pop" quizzes but he typically hints as to when they'll be.

This professor is amazing! His classes are all lecture, but he makes great use of them and throws some jokes in. Explains concepts so well that the textbook barely needs to be referenced. Would have loved to taken this class in person. Not the fastest grader, but I feel if you asked he would let you know.

so. so. awesome. professor hower has sparked this wierd feeling of excitement to go to class which is pretty crazy. he is funny, engaging, gives interesting lectures, and lets out early. theres two papers, two midterms, and a couple weekend quizzes. everything is super straightforward and relatively easy if you go to class and take notes.

Professor is very funny and engaging. Lectures about various topics relating to the human condition in this course, about literature and philosophy. He's able to show us how literature and novelists put forth common themes implicitly or unintentionally in their works. Gets a 4 because he would demean religion a lot in his lectures. Ignore ppl saying lectures are boring, Read the books, and class discussions will be very engaging and interesting. Most of the books are very good reads, only some of the short stories are boring but are short. Clear assignments, grading, and study guides. great prof but if you dont read u can still get by just won't be as enjoyable of a class

Professor Hower is awesome, he is one of the best professors I have had at USD, his lectures are super interesting. The whole class is just reading books and discussing them and then getting tested on them pretty much. I didn't even read some of the books and still did fine so if you miss some readings don't sweat it just do your best to read them.

I took an SYE class with Dr. Hower and he's great! Super engaging, funny, and understanding. He wants students to come prepared to talk about the material. Lenient and straight forward grading. Take home, open-note midterms and one final paper. Take him if you can!!
