speeches require you to work, you cant just waltz through the semester and expect an A, work hard, study for tests, come to class and you'll do fine, good teacher and he will help you if you need it, take him he's not as bad as people say he is

I'll be honest, a lot of people don't like him and his class isn't a breeze but college isnt suppose to be. He is very clear in his expectations. He is hard because he expects a lot and the work can sometimes be tedious but he is always fair.

This class is NOT an easy class, it's nots supposed to be. I can compare it to my Eng 132 class, alot of research, but very basic and very layed out for you. He will help you any way he can. This is a tough class, but he is more than willing to help.

This class is very hard..he makes everything seems harder than it should be. He loves the word ZERO and FAIL...avoid him if possible. I wouldnt recommend him to my worst enemy..but he does offer help if you go to him...VERY RUDE!

Spradley is a really good teacher and not hard to get an A from if you work for it. He is really helpful and really understanding if there is a problem in class. His attendance policy is good because you get bonus points for being there everyday.

I thought Spradley was the best teacher I have had at SFA. He helped me a lot and he actually knows who I am. Very cute!!

This class is hard but if you do the work it will pay off in the end. I got an A. For it to be an 111 class its too much work. I wouldnt recommend him if you are not prepared to work and study.

Way too much ridiculous work! Speeches stress you out because you never do it the right way (his way). Materials for tests gone over only day before test. Requires lots of studying on top of preparing speeches.(NOT our only class) He may help you if you come to his office but isn't overly friendly.

Takes his job too damn seriously for this class to be an elective. The tests are BS, but the speeches are fairly simple.

Well, right now the class is getting more difficult, but getting help on the outlines and making sure everything is in the outline has made things easier.

If you want a teacher who is passionate about what he teaches, and you take your education seriously, this class is for you. Mr. Spradley wants you to excel in public speaking, and shows you how to do it. You can get an A and learn a lot if you really try, and that's what a college class should be

He expects alot out of his students but not too much. He explains how he wants his assignments and is always there to help during office hours. He takes attendance very seriously and will not hesitate to fail you. But his class is easy expect an A or B. Also takes speech time limits seriosly too.

Great guy, hard class. Very passionate about speech. Tests are not easy even with the practice tests ontop of reading the book. I stressed out about writing the outlines and doing the speeches. I found him to be understanding of my bad speaking abilities. He is willing to help if you need it though.

MR. SPRADLEY WAS AWESOME! HE IS VERY HELPFUL AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. I DONT THINK THAT THERE IS ANY WAY TO OVERCOME THOSE COM DEPARTMENTAL TESTS, BUT HE MAPS OUT THE READING WHICH MAKES THE LOAD A WHOLE LOT LIGHTER. TAKE HIM, HE'S THE COOLEST :)

hmm. thats all i can say about this class. knows what he wants and tells you if its not. works your butt off and makes you want to scream, but if you work hard, youll be alright.

Tough but worth it. Make as few mistakes as possible on your outlines, and rehearse your speeches - IT REALLY HELPS. and don't skip classes

EASY...outline is 85% of your speech, so just do it correctly, and give an ok speech...you'll easily get an A OR B

Great professor! He is very clear on his grading expectations and he is interesting when he lectures. I took the class with a couple of jerk students. I am sure they are the ones providing some of the other comments. I have taken him for multiple classes.

Nice guy and good teacher. Only prob is he reads through the slides on powerpoint that go right with the book and its too repetitive! But other than that, he's a very understanding, friendly teacher. I'd take him again.

He is knows what he is talking about! Great sense of humor. Nice guy. Talks to you, not at you. Follows the book and stays on track with real world info. Would take him again. His class is the least demanding of my time, and I am making an "B+ to A-". Those who are not passing his class are slackers & not putting in any effort.

When i saw some comments on this after i signed up for his class i was nervous because i was an incoming freshman taking him and i saw he was a hard teacher and rude. Actually if u just go by his office and talk to him he is nice and will work with you and help you if u need any help. his tests are kind of easy and he grades easy on speeches.

This class was ok. It goes in circles,and can be frustrating at times. We did alot of online stuff which was great. Its Writing Intensive, but there really isnt alot of writing. I dunno, its an ok class though. You learn some good material. Dont take 2 writing intensive courses at the same time!

we met alot online due to him finishing his dissertation this semester. the class itself can be somewhat boring and all the info is repetitive. THIS IS A WRITING INTENSIVE CLASS, so beware. there are 3 celebrations "tests", a 5 page book report and then a 12-15 page paper due in place of there being a final. but you will learn alot of good info.

This is a pretty cool class. You actually learn alot, and its helpful. The lectures are boring, but when you do presentations it gets interesting. Tests are kinda stuff, but if you really know the study guide you will be fine. Its writing intensive, but the 10pg paper isnt to bad.

"He Sprad" is a good teacher. The lectures can be boring at times, but his personality helps keep you awake. The K-blogs and small writing assignments R important. Do them well! The more intellectual you sound, the better your grade will be. I got a B but could have pulled an A. Show up each day and you get extra pts..something every student needs

This is what you want in a professor.

Purchase the Book. Go to class and pay attention. He takes attendance randomly and sometimes gives out extra point quizzes. Gave my class 3 that semester. He does post his slides on line but being in class to hear in depth is always better with this course.

Take him. One of the best professors you'll ever have. People say he's hard but I think he just makes it sound harder than it really is to make you work harder. Clearly explains requirements and concepts. Grades fairly and gives great feedback. You'll learn a lot and have a good shot at an A, be prepared to work a little.

I took this class during Maymester. The class isn't hard, he just requires you to think. This isn't a blow off class you definitely have to do the work. All of the assignments are written and there are two 50 question celebrations (tests) during Maymester. If you ever have any questions just email him and he'll respond quickly. Take him!

Really personable professor-learned all our names the first week. Great 1-on-1 in office hours and really helpful. Tends to talk and lecture in circles and sometimes can be pretty confusing, but all in all he was a great professor. Pay attention to his lectures and take good notes, his exams are online and open-note.

GREAT professor. However, the exams are confusing and yes, they are kind of related to the book and notes, but not super closely related. In class, there's a ton of group activities, which is actually really fun! Look at the slides as soon as he puts them up before class and then take notes that add to that in class.

This class was an easy A! Make sure you turn in assignments on time. Syllabus had incorrect dates so check D2L Dropbox instead. Just do the assignments and discussions and youll make an A. READ the textbook before the online exams because you have a very limited time to finish the test. Easy A and great teacher overall.

If you're looking for an easy credit, I wouldn't take Spradley. The course material makes you think critically about the information you learn. If this is what you're looking for, take this class! Dr. Spradley was great and always emailed me back super quickly.

A textbook was provided for this class, so you don't have to buy one. This class was an easy A. As long as you do the work on time, you will do fine.

Easy class as long as you do the work. Textbook provided, with weekly quizzes. Attendance may not be mandatory. For study prep, try Unstuckstudy along with other resources like ChatGPT.

Imma be honest, this was an easy class. 3 essays, 1 group project with the last essay and a video, and a total of 14 chapter quizzes.
