I had him for English 241 Creative Writing and he was a cool teacher, very interesting and he was funny also, he had us doing a lot of off the wall crazy assignments, but all in all he was cool....

Some writing talent is expected, but I learned more from Pinka than any other ENG prof. Class is fun, Pinka makes it interesting. Highly recommend.

I ended up really liking Pinka. He taught me so much more about writing and made me look forward to every class I had. He did make you think a lot. Ex. we wrote a paper of global work cessation. If you don't like to challenge your mind&think outside the box then he isnt the teacher for you. He is very personable & encourages class discussion.

Loved this man. In all my time at MCC, he was by far the best teacher I ever had. Looking back on my writing, it changed when I started that class, and was some of my best work. I think anyone interested in writing should have this man as a teacher. He rocks!

Pinka is an awesome guy. Don't take anything he says too seriously. If he jokes about women or an ethnicity, he's JOKING, so don't freak out. You won't know your grade till the end of the semester, he goes over your papers within 5 minutes and gives you a "good""bad"or"ok." His class is by no means difficult and he teaches useful analysis methods.

I had Mr Pinka years ago. I cannot thank him enough for all he taught me and 'continues' to teach me to this day. When I read the comments of student who 'whimped' out of his class, I feel they cheated themselves. Yes, he expected a lot - in fact, he expected EVERYTHING from me. And, I dug deep enough and found the infinite water beneath my well.

It's been 5 years since I had pinka and I reflect on what he taught me everyday. This professor changed how I perceived myself as well as everything around me. A profound person to say the least. I loved his unique, albeit often twisted sense of humor. Pinka taught lessons of life as well as analysis of text and writing a paper. A+++ for him.

Pinka is the most amazing english teacher i have ever had! For the people who say that he does not clarify his notes or what he is talking about, they need to open their ears, because he explains things so well and yeah he makes some comments, buit that is what makes him unique, i love him and i would recommend him to everyone!

Subject outlines? GPAs? a true student needs not these things. Pinka changed my life and I am forever thankful. He's the real deal. You accept him flaws and all or you don't - no middle ground, no apologies. It's been 15 years since I was in school, May be time to retake his class just for the experience.

Pinka tends to be a little eccentric, and yes, he is a hard-ass. In my opinion, these are positive things! His off the wall jokes keep you awake, and his toughness keeps you on your toes. Excellent instructor. I had always dropped english, however I stayed in his class and loved it...had him for both 1180 and 1190...he has a great personality, and is always very helpful when it comes to writing essays...once again great instructor... :)

If you find him a bit difficult maybe you need to be in elementary school. My daughter and myself love him. My daughter is an honors student and uses his teachings in her papers, mind you she is only going into the 7th grade. I absolutely love Pinka. I don't understand why people think he's so difficult to understand. If you use your brain and are willing to think outside the box a little, you'll have a good time. I like a teacher who doesn't coddle his students, but pushes them a little outside of their comfort zones. That's Pinka. And I'm better for it.

When I had Pinka for 1180, I was a bit naive and skeptical of his teaching ability. After 1190, my perspective for the man had completely changed. Out of all the professors at MCC, he has the best personality and sense of humor. He heavily emphasizes on critical thinking and "thinking outside of the box." My writing skills have greatly improved.

Pinka was very good at teaching new lessons, also his class was very easy for me. He does not accept late work, or like when people are late for class. Overall, he is a good teacher. I learned a lot from his class. I would recommend him to everyone.

Pinka tells you staightforward about what you do wrong on a paper. As long as you fix those mistakes your paper will do just fine. If you're looking for an easy A, then skip over Pinka. However, if you want a teacher that challenges you to think about what you're doing, then come over. He might not be the easiest professor to deal with, but he knows his stuff, and he'll drop subtle hints for you if you're willing to pick them up. Not the easiest, but worth the time.

Finished the course with a lower grade than expected, but I learned stuff that changed my view of the world. I ended up learning more in this class than any other previous English course, and the things you learn in 1220 will blow your mind. His main points are crystal clear once you decode them. Likes a good joke, just don't blow the class off.

I had this guy for two semesters, both times I enjoyed the class. He is pretty helpful if you are willing to work with him, and despite how strict he is, he does want you to learn. Overall he's a great teacher. Highly recommend if you want to learn and you don't mind a challenge.

Pinka is not for the faint of heart. You should take this teacher ONLY if you're willing to work and improve your writing. It WILL work. Some of his teaching is a little dated in MLA format, but every teacher does it a little different. Sometimes his lectures may offend students, but it doesn't mean they're not important or contain good information

Professor Pinka was one of my more favorite professors at MCC. He comes off very strict and demanding, and expects high quality work out of his students. He will always be honest with you, whether good or bad. If you do what's required, he will give you the benefit of the doubt. Great, but demanding professor.

I should have failed my first assignment with him as a freshmen because I didn't follow the instructions, but he realized I put a lot of effort into the rest of it and only knocked off a few points. Its been a long time, but this is one professor that opens doors and treats everyone individually. A must professor for building confidence and enjoyment of reading. Nothing else comes close to these things. His teachings will last a lifetime.
