CSE Prep - Professor Hanlon has excellent knowledge of the material and taking this class is almost critical to passing the CSE. The online version of the class is very effective. Moves quickly and keeps you focused. I took the class in person and the days were long and I lost focus. This class was very effective. I recommend it!

I have taken classes with this professor before. She is always very thorough and always makes herself available to answer questions before, during and after class. Through her classes, I have gained tremendous knowledge of architectural concepts not typically taught in architecture school and that would take years to learn in the field.

Took as a remote lecture because of covid, but was still very effective. The professor used a digital syllabus which she was able to update between sessions which made sure we had the most current info and feedback. Definitely recommend.

Great class instruction, very in depth lectures and really digs into the actual content of the ARE. The class moves very fast, but I like that it is based more on how to take the test, rather than being based on chapters on content. Online Syllabus is useful because it can be updated, but I did notice a bit of typos. Otherwise highly recommend.

Having taken the course once before in person, I have found that the online ARE101 class is not that much different from the in person class - both very difficult and cover a lot of content. The professor breaks down very complicated concepts with ease and makes it easier to understand. Online syllabus will be better when we can take notes on it.

The online course is very effective and is strongly recommended, however very intensive. Often very lecture heavy, Professor Kazmi is almost too smart for her own good and can often times go over material too quickly or advanced. She does a great job covering everything in a short period of time. I strongly encourage you to take this class.

Really dense course material to get through, She makes it a lot less grueling with straight forward explanation's and does a great job making sure you understand the material. First I was apprehensive to the Digital syllabus, but as we were going through class and she was able to keep it consistently updated it has proven to be a useful tool.

Very thorough! I appreciate that she takes extra time before class to answer questions. The focus was not only based on exam content, but the techniques expected when taking the exam. My tips are to have a laptop to type your notes, have blank paper notebook to sketch, colored markers, and a scientific calculator.

even though the content is all the content in the exam, I think the example questions in the syllabus is really straight forward and the questions on the exam are not. They combine few questions together and in some cases is much harder to break it down. I would like to see more question examples. but I understand the time is limited.

Overall a great professor! Professor Hanlon gives a lot of complicated information, but uses charts and diagrams to explain and make it a bit clearer and easier to understand. She also thinks about how questions may be asked on the exam and presents all options to the class.

This is a tough course with a lot of content. She knows what she is doing and a real wealth of knowledge. Shares test taking strategies and actually teaches what is on the exam. Initially came off a little tough and wasn't sure what to think but she is a really great teacher.

Lots of material, fast paced, in depth, can be a little all over the place because of trying to connect different subjects, recommend rewriting your notes while reviewing the syllabus again and filling in the blanks you have.

Professor Hanlon is very knowledgeable and does a great job providing a high level overview of a vast amount of topics. I wish the course syllabus spent more time on complex subjects. I felt like we started out slow and ended a bit overwhelmed.

I just passed CSE on my first try. I have no previous experience with the topics (other than ARE). Funkaar was my only study material. I credit the course and Professor Hanlon with my success.

For CSE there's a lot of material covered and class and is very fast paced. Professor Hanlon lets you know what exactly what you need to know and memorize for the exam and doesn't waste time on material that is irrelevant to the exam. The amount of information covered would need years of courses, but the best is done to do it in the shortest possible time and in the best way possible. Took the online class with her for the NCIDQ licensure exam. She was very helpful in explaining / reviewing a lot of the term and sections that would be covered on all three exams. She was also very knowledgeable in the material and helped teach how to reason through the options and so forth. Would take again !

I passed both the IDFX and IDPX exams after taking this course, and the instructor was really knowledgeable. The course moves quickly, and I found it a bit challenging to keep up with note-taking, especially when it came to diagrams. I did need to use some outside resources while studying, but the course gave me a solid foundation for the exams.

Professor Hanlon utilizes code to explain why items are required, and how to acheive the required outcomes. She will do deep-dives to explain the full concepts, and points out how these relate or don't relate to similar items.

Professor Hanlon does a great job helping student focus their study efforts for the ARE exams which are such a deep bench of content. It was helpful to understand concepts that would allow you to through questions on the exam. It was a natural progression, though an aggressive timeline.

It is a lot to learn in short amount of time. This professor navigates the syllabus well to cover many topics. Graphics and animations help make information easy to absorb.

clear and concise conceptual lessons, could be a little more thorough explaining relationships between systems and WHY things are the way they are and the application of the concept. Also I struggled to follow the math explanations and the relationship between formulas and how to apply them, and why that formula applied to that specific scenario.

There is often miscellaneous information given, however a rhythm of lecture that allows your brain to grab an understanding of the important concepts. Be prepared to participate in the beginning of each class session. The animated content helps explain concepts of multi-faceted systems.

That said, the class duration and dense content can make it challenging to maintain focus throughout, suggesting that pacing or content distribution could be optimized for better engagement.

it's difficult to study for the architecture exams as it exists, but the course was easy to follow and loved how she broke down complex concepts into easy to digest bits of information. a wonderful professor and always has the student's best interest in mind.

It is very good to get the tips and tricks of the exam so we don't get into the pitfalls of the exam so that we can have a better grade outcome. This online ARE prep course was very tough, but proffessor Hanlon is very knowledgeable and gives excelent consolidated information, lectures and tips to be able to focus on exam content material. I highly recommend this course it is a great refresher course for anybody that has been out of Architecture school for a while

She was very knowledgeable about the content she was sharing with the class. She gave the class extra examples and always provide clear feedback on question. She was clear and concise on the information she was teach in each lecture.

She works quickly but slows down to clarify and explain if you do not understand something. She is friendly and very knowledgeable. Some of her math-based explanations are a bit complicated but understandable after some reviewing. Overall great professor; very pro-student.

Professor Hanlon's motivated for students to pass the ARE and CSE and tries for a comprehensive set of information on the needed knowledge. There are times when some clarity's been sacrificed to get through all the material—but construction code is, sadly, messy to start with so it would be hard to clarify any further than the original muddy laws.

As an older student in this class, who has 30 years working in this field, I say that she has more knowledge than I do! Not only does she keep her knowledge honed fresh and relevant, she also knows how things actually work in the real world, not just theoretically for passing tests. I will take her classes again.
