Great professor! She knows her stuff and helps you understand it by showing ways to apply the material to your own life.
Although I met with a serious mishap that involved my main assignment, she was understanding and helpful in a resolution. One thing that stood out was her genuine humility. When she didn't know an answer, she would say so and then work to find it. Ursina is approachable and generous. I want to take this class again.
Very nice professor and very professional. She was always ready to help and very quick to response to e-mails. Would recommend this professor very highly.
Class and material is extremely interesting and easy to engage in. She's extremely helpful if you need it. Excellent feedback. Easy to get an A as long as you have a functional brain.
Online class required using Excel/formulas and I didn't have it or have time to learn it, so I was downgraded a lot on worksheets. If you don't like sharing personal decision process with others every other week, you won't like the discussion board due every other week. Book is absurd to use to help with decisions.
She was great, I would definitely take another class from her. The assignments were crystal clear and as long as you put in the effort and give her what she asked for, a good grade follows. Although it wasn't (but should have been) listed in the syllabus, Excel is required for the course.
Had her for an online personal decision making class, and as long as you log on at least once a week and just DO the assignments a good grade will come with it. Haven't used excel a lot in my college career and we needed it for a few assignments but it was a good intro to it. She is very helpful and prompt to answer emails. Highly recommended.
Excellent teacher, easy to understand as far as what was expected from the beginning to the end of the term. I enjoyed the entire process of this class, Personal Decision Making. I would highly recommend it, and you need to be willing to do the work to get the good grades.
Very interesting class. Does not require previous psych knowledge, so you don't need to be a psych major. Was a little vague on how much work needed to be put into assignments, I ended up devoting way more time than necessary to the first couple assignments. Did require basic Excel use, but offered tutorials and help if needed.
cool instructor. however she teaches an utterly useless class with a ridiculously subjective and arbitrary grading system. not recommended.
Online course was excellent--extremely well organized, especially in comparison to other online courses at same school. Others seem to feel that her expectations are vague, but her writing prompts ask general questions, allowing max flexibility to the student in answering, and max flexibility to instructor when grading; this is a good thing!
Took the online Decision-Making course. Extremely well organized. Teuscher was involved, helpful, and gives lots of encouragement and freedom to expand on your own thoughts. A lot of thought and contemplation are expected in this course, as is involvement in the disucssion groups with other students. Time-consuming but rewarding course.
I also took the online "Personal Decision Making" class online, hoping for an easy cluster course. Ugh, what a mess it turned out to be. The text book was free, self-published (downloaded from the author's website),and embarrassingly bad. This whole course was mind-numbingly tedious and offered me nothing of value towards real-world applications.
Personal decision making. What a completely useless, mind-numbing, vague and tedious class. Her directions are completely unclear, and are irrelevant to life at all. Her worksheets and ideas to make a decision are so unrealistic that they are out of this world. No one is going to make a weighted table to make up their mind. Don't take this class.
Great class. I had a hard decision to work on and both the textbook AND the class were helpful. This is applying rationality and objectivity and creative thinking to decisions which might otherwise be made impulsively, and lrning about motivation. Don't need Excel. I used free OpenOffice. Not hard to learn spreadsheets. Prof very avlble for help.
Very well organized online class. Not hard at all, directions are clear and flexible to fit individual preferences. The worksheets are easy to understand and the discussions are interesting. Easy grade if you do the assignments - no tests or projects. The text is pretty silly but useful for doing the assignments. Interesting course.
This was a great course and the instructor was awesome. Professor Teuscher was always helpful and gave great feedback on all submissions. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Thanks Professor Teuscher.
this was an online class. she was very helpful if you email her, and her instructions are pretty clear. homework is not unreasonable and she gives you time to do things. all you got to do is check your d2l account and do it...then your done for the week. great junior cluster class if you need one
Quite possibly the BEST online class I have taken! Well organized, easy to follow and well thought out. The quiz was very hard but other assignments were reasonable. I would take another class this this instructor in heart beat
Even though I learned that online classes aren't for me while taking this course I did enjoy the teacher. I didn't do super great in the class, but she was really willing to help and clarify when I was struggling. Great class to take if you are trying to make a decision!
Class was well organized. Final quiz was a bit difficult (62% was avg grade). The class gave info that will be relevant throughout life. There is a low amount of points (only 200), so very little error is allowed to earn an A. Her grading scale is not standard. An A is 94%, instead of 92%, which makes for an uneven comparison on a transcript.
Although it was online, I found the class extremely helpful. We got to take a question or big life decision and analyze it as our main project... Good stuff! She is prompt at replying to emails!
"Personal Decision Making" class Ursina is prompt w/ grading &questions, but overall its complete waste of $. A class has been invented around a book she &2 others have written about how to make decisions. Should be a 2hour lecture at the most & part of some other class. Ihaven't learned anything. Class goes in circles/talks broad generalities.
Very clear and well laid out class. Extremely prompt grader. The worksheets were a bit challenging, but overall I found myself learning skills to make big life decisions. Yes the textbook is written by her and a big cheesy, but that made it easy to read and understand.
Her worksheets are very tedious and they require the knowledge of excel to complete. There is no extra credit or late work. I got 79.5% and she would not round up my grade, allow me EC or let me remediate any of my work. 200pt class if you have a bad week your screwed. My 7mth puppy died in the middle of the term and she wouldnt give me a break.
I enjoyed Ursina's class and learned more than I had expected to (I wasn't sure what to expect from Career Counseling). She gave us plenty of opportunities to practice our counseling skills, and I appreciated how low-key the class was over-all. The pacing was good, and the grading was refreshingly fair and prompt.
Really clear instruction, make sure you read the book.
Great class with a collaborative format!
This was a great class, via online. Dr. Teuscher seems very knowledgeable about the topic of decision making. I learned a lot through the textbook she co-wrote. It is nicely laid out and available on amazon which is helpful for those of us who hate to carry around books. She does not offer extra credit so you must do your work on time and not miss!
Although this was an online course, there is discussions that need to be done and most of the time if you have not done all of the reading you can get lost. But if you do the reading you will get what is being taught. The reading needs to be done before taking the quizzes too.
This online class was really easy. There's one activity a week including discussion, worksheet, or quiz all of which are pretty simple and can be done in a day freeing up the rest of the week. The class is really boring though, the professor takes a backseat and doesn't really do anything but grade your work.
Took this class as an elective that I thought would interest me. I was incredibly wrong... The class does not help with real life decision making, she forces you to do the most pointless exercises. Most importantly, she is very confusing and unhelpful. She will not help you out if you don't understand something. Would not recommend this teacher.
It's not enough of a scam to assign your own book as required - this lady makes the full price online edition mandatory! So too bad if you try to save money on a used book. The college textbook scam worsens every year...
she a good teacher but is had to get help when you take online classes.
Ursina really cares about her students. She puts good effort into making this class something that will actually impact your life in a positive way, which is always an awesome thing to see from educators. She was so helpful to me any time I had any concerns about the textbook or about my grade. She is so kind! Definitely take her class!
She is willing to help outside of class, and will talk over the phone with online students. She really helped me through one of the assignments. I like her attitude and learned a lot in this class. She will make you work for your grade. The discussion board assignments became very tedious by the end of the term.
Dr. Teuscher is a good teacher and I've learned a lot in her class about decision-making. She has a list of what to do each week and when it's due on the homepage of the class website, which is very helpful to get organized. She also gives good feedback on assignments, which I appreciated, and she answered any questions I had quickly. Good prof!
Class expectations are clearly laid out on D2Land in the syllabus; give great feedback on assignments. All homework is done online, which is fine, but you are REQUIRED to buy the text online from ONE SITE ONLY (where the homework is due), and guess what? She wrote the book. This bothers me. Don't feel like I learned much.
This class can be confusing if you don't go into it having a specific and significant decision that you want to make. You are asked to apply the material to your own decision (the same decision) over the course of the class.
This was a great class. I have learned decision making processes and perspectives that will be valuable both personally and when assisting clients. The course work was challenging and interactive.
The overall class was kind of boring and it felt like all the other university studies classes, she didn't really care about you as the student and all she wanted was for you to read her "psychology" book if you can even call it that, I really didn't learn much and doesn't work with students, kind of "my way or the highway". Wouldn't take her again
Great class to take
The course consisted of discussion posts, a couple of worksheets, and a few quizzes. The directions were clear and easy to follow. She gave great feedback on posts/worksheets to improve the next score. Overall, if you spend an hour or two each week to complete the weekly assignment on time, you will get a B at the very least. Wonderful class.
Great conline course that helps with a decision making. The book and the readings are useful for everyday use. Easy and very useful class.
Well structured online class that made it clear what needed to be done. Gave great feedback on assignments and discussion topics. Enjoyed the pace of the class and assignments.
Ursina is very helpful if you need help with ANYTHING. She gets back to you in email same day and even arranged time for you to talk in the phone if clarification is needed. A lot of reading in this class so be prepared. Good material though for the real world life decisions we make every day.
I love how this class was structured. Not terribly difficult, but still learned a lot personally and in the greater scheme of things. Would recommend 10/10.
I really like the way the professor set this class up so that every week you have something different due. Discussion one week, test the next.
The professor enhances this class through student discussion forums, supplemental readings (in addition to the required textbook), annotations, and encourages the application of the learning content to one's own decision-making. The professor was very effective in selecting relevant course material and is open to student suggestions/feedback.
If you participate on time you will get an A on everything just do your work. the only thing this does not hold true for is the tests I nearly failed every one of them, luckily there are only a couple and they are not weighted so it did not affect my grad much. Very good information and fun to explore your own decision making process.
Great class if you don't know how to solve problems or decisions, but kind of boring otherwise and a bit confusing (confusing regarding one of the applied concepts). The professor just hands you the material, which the online discussions guide themselves, but she doesn't say much after the first week. I'm sure she's more than welcome to answer q's.
It was indeed a good class, the only psychology class i've ever taken. I put in good effort, and indeed got good value from the experience.
Lots of reading. Pay attention to syllabus to grading rubric (specifically discussion submission times). Participate and do the work, and you will get a good grade.
The class is about personal decision making, but it attempts to be super critical and specific on decision making as if there was one or two correct ways to properly make a decision. The activities were not very helpful. it is an online class so it is not very difficult to pass, but if you don't want to waste hours of your life, dont take the class
This class was amazing! What good is a higher education, without superior decision-making skills?
Nice grader. The textbook/online text that's needed for this class is a little weird, but easy to get acquainted with.
Ursina leads a really fun course! I took her Personal Decision Making course in Winter 2018 and found it to be a great learning experience that actually helped my personal life as well as increase my acedemic knowledge. The course work isn't super challenging but you do need to participate and stay current. Take her course!!
Overall Ursina is very nice and responsive to emails. I had her online class and found it interesting and her to be more helpful than most online professors. The only downside is her online quizzes are SO hard. Every quiz I struggled with even having a long time to finish them.
Took her online decision making class as a cluster requirement. It was interesting and found some of the material to be relevant in my life. As others have mentioned, her quizzes are quite hard and set up to trick you. I wish the quizzes were a bit easier. I also wish she had extra credit. I was only a few points from a higher grade so that sucks.
I love this professor!! There is a quiz every week as well as a discussion post/reply. And the final is a paper. The professor gives fast feedback and replies to emails. Also there were few extra credit opportunities. Loved it!!
The online class was easy to understand and quizzes are short and fair. An interactive online book that is a cool way to read but will cost $65 to register. The teacher is very engaged with good feedback.
The professor makes sure to keep in touch via email if there are any questions and or concerns. Has fun projects for students to do like a decision tree, but the decision tables was something that I did not enjoy though others might disagree.
I took the online Personal Decision Making class. The course required reading from the text book/articles along with annotations of the readings, quizzes and discussions. The workload is fair and the quizzes are a combination of conceptual and direct questions from the textbook. Ursina does give prompt and good feedback and is helpful through email
I highly recommend this course. Its practical and will benefit you for the remainder of your life. I liked that all of the modules were opened this allowed me to finish the course by week 7. The only challenging part of the class was the second worksheet. The quizzes are not worded straight forward, but they are only a small part of the grade.
She is very prompt and available to her students, she is very understanding and a fair grader, and she presented a lot of interesting and useful material for future use in life.
Professor was respectful, nice. The "textbook" she used was one she helped to write, it was awful! Hard to follow & understand. It would side track you with stories and "examples" that were distracting. Her tests were very tricky! The wording was hard to decipher in text for applicable testing. I felt this course completed the concepts.
Instructor was nice/responsive, but the reading, tests, and worksheets routinely felt confusing. Material often falls into jargon-type language. Has little to do with psychology, seemed more like a communications class. Mandatory purchase of an e-textbook that she helped write for $65, used through a 3rd party website called Perusall.
The text book that was used was co written by her. $70. The terms within it will never be used in your future studies in any other way and yet you are tested on it. The test questions are double negatives that are hard to understand. It was a frustrating experience. I couldnt figure out how any of the class related to psychology.
I liked this course, I really did. Though, my quip with it was how the instructor was absolutely absent from the online social learning environment. Makes no effort to communicate. Honestly, this class would make zero difference if the instructor wasn't in it. Everything is already set out for students. Everything* is graded automatically.
3 online quizzes throughout the term that were worded in a confusing manner and relied heavily on the required textbook, which explained concepts with even more difficulty. I was left to guess on most of the assignments and found it difficult to understand how these concepts related to everyday decision making.
The reading annotations can be gamed, as the professor doesn't actually check. So 5 random comments will get you full credit (I tested this). The discussions are easy to phone in. The quizzes/test are the only thing you need to put thought into. Her book is confusing and unhelpful after the 2nd/3rd week. Easy class to use as a throwaway.
The weekly homework is very simple. The tests, however, are written in a way that attempts to trick you or doesn't actually follow what *her* book says. Even though I got an A, I would have learned more and had a better experience in a different class. This is the worst online class I've taken. Buyer beware.
This class was okay. Wasn't terrible.
This class was fun and I learnt a lot about decision making. I didn't know so much research is in decision making. There is lots of reading for this class, but it is all interesting. The grading is fair if not a little easy. There were three quizzes and as long as you read the textbook and took a few basic notes, you'll get an A.
The syllabus is pretty straight forwardTextbook is her bookmaking the 3 quizzes pretty tricky&difficultStudy, take notes, reread, ask questions otherwise you'll be lucky to get a 'C' on your examsEverything else is fairly easy to pass so long as you participate in discussions, read articles & annotate, use book to help do worksheets. Just Eh.
I really enjoyed Ursina's decision-making class and I feel like I learned a lot! The textbook reading and class workload are super manageable which I really appreciated. The only complaint I have is the quizzes. They were very tricky, even when I read all the material. My suggestion would be to read the questions and answers very carefully!
The class is straightforward and fairly easy, but there's a lot of homework. The quizzes are pretty easy because they are open note. All the material is based on the textbook, but the book is only $65. Overall, i had lots of fun in this class!
Very helpful with answering questions.
This was the most beneficial class I have ever taken!! The professor is tough, but very fair. The assignments are thorough; staying up on the readings and notes will serve you best! Tough tests but again, if you take good notes and do your reading, you will be fine! SUPER CLASS!
This was a self-led class: all assignments were due on Sun midnight, + all discussions were between classmates online. Ursina was prompt to respond to emails in a respectful + helpful manner, however we did not have mandatory lectures or face-to-face time with her. Overall, this was a useful course and I learned a lot about decision making. Thanks!
This class was converted to an all online, self-paced format. The teacher did a good job providing options for reading (personalized choose your own adventure style) with lots of required discussion, online text annotations, and activities. She provides clear expectations, grades kindly, and provides detailed feedback that furthers learning.
I found professor Teuscher to be prompt with questions/ emails and assistance when needed. She also helped me out further when I wanted more information regarding some subjects covered in class, which was incredibly helpful.
Great Professor! Went up and beyond for the class. Knows her subject well, literally wrote the book. I cannot recommend this professor enough!
Ursina is great! Her course is well organized and everything is easily accessible. Her syllabus has clear guidelines and expectations for the course and she encourages interaction in the online class space as much as possible. There is a lot of reading so prepare for that and there is no EC so it is best to do your assignments thoroughly! Lovely!
This class was great! Professor Teuscher wants very much for you to succeed and frequently requests feedback and offers support. How difficult the class is, is up to you... but the more you put in, the more you will take away. You will learn new skills for life-long use. I only wish I'd taken this course 20 years ago. Highly recommended!
Professor Ursula was clear about her expectations that made us work for a clear goal of making a hard decision. Her text book was very good and I will have to go back and re-read on my own time in the future. This was a hard class, especially on line but the professor gave a lot of feedback and answered emails quickly. She was engaged with us.
Great class with lots of introspective work, if you're looking to learn more about your self this is it.
This course involves weekly reading and annotation, discussion posts, and a few work sheets and 3 quizzes. If you do the reading, you'll know the material well enough to complete the work sheets. Quizzes are right from the textbook and articles - it's very easy to get an A on those if you've read. She's a fair grader & accessible if needed.
IF you are an independent learner you will probably be fine. She gives very little guidance, no lectures, and hands you material expecting you to understand it. Her decisions table assignment is very difficult with bad explanation of instructions. Plus you have to do math and use excel for it so beware!! Not a very engaging teacher.
I was looking forward to a class that would dove into the psychology of decision making, but this was really more of a self help class. Which could be useful, but for the cost of the class I was a bit disappointed.
This class you will never see the instructor and will only get sparse feedback. The general set up of the class is a self directed self-help of how to make decisions. Cool if that is what you want. Was not a fan.
An easy class that helps you with decision-making. Just 10 annotations, 3 quizzes, 3 worksheets, and biweekly discussions. I finished all my annotations in the first week and just focused on discussions and quizzes. This class is self-paced so if you like that then this is great. You could finish the class in a couple of weeks if you wanted.
Dr. Teuscher, is very caring for her students. She allows students to book an appointment with her and will help in whatever ways possible. The homework she assigns are also very rich and interactive. If there is one class I highly recommend someone to take, it would be her personal decision-making class! The class content is practical, applicable
Professor is professional and responsive. Good class work structure.
(I took her class online asynchronously, she might be diff in person) Pros: Gives good, comprehensive feedback and seems to care quite a lot about the content which is nice. Cons: She isn't the best at explaining things or giving instructions clearly, which can make a simple question/concept seem way more complicated & confusing than necessary.
I really enjoyed this professor. She was very clear about grading not only at the beginning of the term but also each week. She posts each week exactly what assignments/readings to complete and by what time they need to be completed. The grading is easy and she gives really great feedback.
She was great! Explained things well and kept open communication.
The assignments and grading were very straight forward. There are discussions, a couple of worksheets/activities, and 3 quizzes that replaced the midterm and final. There is a lot to read (textbook on top of other articles) but it does not feel like too much as they are interesting. Most importantly, nothing feels like busy (unnecessary) work!
Ursina is a great professor! The class was structured well and manageable. If you do the work and readings, you are good to get a good grade. I highly recommend taking this class if you want to better your decision-making skills (something we can all benefit from). I had a blast!
The course is well formatted. The grading is hard but fair. She provides great feedback and she is very supportive as long as you practice good communication.
This course requires a lot of reading, be prepared to be reading 3+ articles each week. The tests are also based on the required readings and can be hard if you did not read or studied.
I have taken a lot of online courses and this course was super easy to follow. There was no extra stress of possibly missing deadlines or going on scavenger hunts to find hidden assignments because everything was updated weekly with explicit expectations. I appreciated the clear communication, quick feedback, and structure of the readings.
The class is well organized and the material is interesting. The textbook is online through Persuall with weekly annotations, graded on best 10. Pretty easy. 3-4 discussion posts. 3 "open book" quizzes that are like midterms/ final. Gives great feedback, promptly.
Awesome professor. Very quick to respond to emails. I learned a lot and loved the textbook that she helped write. this class is useful for any major. The professor was thoughtful, intelligent, and fair.
I found that Professor Teuscher was remarkably fair, reasonable, and did a great job of communicating with us what was expected and how we could be successful in the class, which I appreciate a lot. Don't try to take the tests without reading the text, that would be a bad idea. Take Prof. Teuscher's advice and you'll be fine.
Ursina was an excellent professor. Class is well organized and she sets clear expectations of what should be done throughout each week. This class is VERY reading intensive. If you don't like to read, this class may not be for you, but there's a lot of really interesting material though. Excellent professor!
the weekly quizzes were very difficult throughout the term. She did not provide a study guide and said everything was in the weekly reading. After throughly reading the weekly reading and studying and taking the quiz with another classmate. We both did not receive a good grade. Reached out to her and got no resources. Also no extra credit!
Personal Decision Making was a lifechanging class. I felt like what was required of us was easy and reasonable because the real work is applying what you learn to your life. Prof. Teuscher truly cares about what she teaches and what we get out of it as students. The work was a lot like the work of therapy in a way.
Loved how organized the class was. Ursina gives very good feedback and will help you understand material you're unsure of. Textbook can be difficult to read and isn't something you can cram in last min. You'll also do annotations. Be warned, if you like to annotate privately, these annotations are made public and are more like discussion posts.
This was a pretty good class. A little on the self-help side, but still quite a bit of information to help make better decisions more analytically. There isn't too much work and its pretty consistent week to week. Probably 4-5 hours a week of reading and completing assignments. A few discussion posts, quizzes, and worksheets.
Professor has clear grading expectations and gives you plenty of time/opportunities to work on building your grade (in Perusall) so readings are interactive. Discussions are based on personal experience with assignments and push your thinking. Not a class to skip on readings as quizzes will catch up to you. Recommend if you are actually interested.
She had clear expectations for what she was looking for, but she expects reading assignment to be annotated. It felt more like I had signed up for some sort of self-help course than a university point. The reading amount and assignments were manageable each week.
Dr. Teuscher is a fair grader and seems responsive enough to emails. However, I honestly found the material in this class to be exceedingly boring. There definitely were readings that included studies with interesting outcomes, but the book readings read like: "Joe wants to buy a car. Let's draw a decision-graph to visualize his choices."
There are readings each week, discussions every other week, and worksheets on alternating weeks. The 10 annotations are the easiest part of class, so don't get discouraged because it's something new. The class is helpful and applicable to life. Chapters can sometimes be long, but as long as you keep a good attitude, you'll be fine! 10/10 recommend!
Personal psychology of decision making. Practical real world implementation of class material. Great class to take.
The class is just boring as hell in my opinion. Not often clear direction on assignments and the class layout in general is odd. The class often feels redundant and pointless I wish I never took this course but here we are. The one thing I do like about the class is perusall, its a good way to get people to do the readings.
Everyone should take this class. So much great information.
This class was so full of practical tools to use when trying to make big decisions in life. Professor Teuscher gave very clear expectations and was communicative. I really enjoyed this class!
Ursina is an amazing professor with great compassion towards her students. However, I will say to make sure you reread the readings before taking quizzes as I found myself forgetting simple concepts. I loved the first Worksheet activity we did, it was incredibly entertaining and helpful in remembering concepts in decision-making.
I think the quizzes on the textbook are difficult. It's a lot of reading, with a lot of details to remember, and then the questions on the quizzes are difficult. If the reading wasn't so detailed, or if the questions weren't so difficult, I think it would be better balanced. The combination of both I think is a little too much. But she is awesome
I wouldn't take another class with this professor. It's not that it was a tough class; it's that the reading was very heavy, and it was done through a third-party website. She is very clear on what is expected of you. I work full-time and take a full-time course load, so I would prefer less reading.
I enjoyed this class, and the instructor took the time to give feedback on each assignment and discussion post. DIscussions are the bulk of the points so missing just one week of discussions could put your grade down to a B so always post three replies every week in the class discussion. Also uses Persuall for the assigned textbook which is awesome
Heavy reading and has either discussions due for the week or a quiz on the reading. I highly recommend getting familiar with the search function on the website the textbook is on, it helped me greatly. There is an Excel assignment this term and I was able to complete it with little Excel experience plus she can help and shows a detailed example.
Ursina was awesome! I really appreciated all of her feedback because it was really personal and it allowed me to figure out what I could do better next time. I definitely recommend her for anyone who needs more structure in their classes and might not understand what they are doing wrong. She is also very responsive when it comes to her emails.
Lots of annotations and reading, but very clear expectations. If you participate in the discussions and annotations it is not difficult to succeed in this class. Instructor is responsive, reasonable and provides constructive feedback! This course is actually very helpful for day to day life and decision making.
Professor Ursina Teuscher is helpful, kind, and inspiring. She taught a great course on decision-making and ensured we all understood the material and tools. I would take another class with her!
Very sweet and caring professor. Theres discussion posts, worksheets, quizzes, and weekly annotations through Perusall. Quiz questions are a little tricky, but not overly difficult. She is very accessible through email and is happy to help.
Ursina is an awesome teacher and offers several different ways to earn points and works with you well throughout the course!
I enjoyed the subject matter of this course so much I got the textbook for future reading and use! I struggled a lot with the online 3rd party textbook format as well as the requirement of annotations in the online text. Otherwise, the class was useful and productive to real life scenarios.
Professor Ursina is a great educator ! She is very understandable, easy to get a hold of, and provides good learning material. As far as homework, it is pretty manageable.
She is incredibly helpful. Just stay on top of the material and ask for help when needed and you'll do fine.
Great professor. always willing to help. not too harsh on grading and will certainly go out of the way to help you understand the material.
-The teacher is actually very nice and quick to respond. -I got frustrated to be graded my Excel skills in one of the assignments, and Excel proficiency was not on the class description. -I did not like the book she wrote on her own, it did not go smoothly. -No extra credits is not good. - I would not take another class with her.
Exactly what you would want from an online class: - professor leaves personal and thoughtful remarks on all submissions. - fair grading, clear and direct requirements for an A. - weekly discussion posts, reading, annotations, worksheets or quizzes can all be done in about 1-3 hours per week.
Class is easy to follow along with, and is very communicative and understanding. You follow the class alongside the textbook you read throughout the course, as long as you stay up on your readings/annotations, you'll understand the quizzes and worksheets better.
Interesting course, well laid out with clear instructions on everything. Pick a decision on your plate, buy in, do the tables - you'll learn something.
I had a great time in this class! The class is very well structured and you can tell she put a lot of time and effort into making it that way. She clearly has a lot of passion for her field of study and cares about her students. I learned a lot and would definitely recommend!
There were a total of 10 assignments, and then there were reading annotations that you had to do throughout the term that totaled up to 30 points (in one assignment). The class was great and pretty easy if you stay on top of the material, and the reading and assignments were very insightful. Ursina was responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!
The instruction was clear for this class, I knew what was expected of me to get a good grade. Ursina was kind, and made herself available if I ever had any questions; however, because the class was so well structured for online use, I never felt the need to contact her.
Great class with a passionate, helpful professor. Stay on top of the readings and assignments, and you'll do well. unstuck study was a lifesaver for exam prep. Highly recommended!
Ms. Ursina is a thought grader. She demands to use an expensive electronic book, $100, but 'the book is like old copies.' Also, she teaches psychology courses, but she leaves Excel homework! Yes, Excel homework in Psychology class! I did not know about this! It would be nice to add this information to the class description at the beginning!
Dr. Teuscher lays out what is expected. The assignments are easy to complete but they do take time so set yourself up for success and don't do them at the last minute. Professor is communicative and responds in a reasonable amount of time. I'd take another class with her.
As expected there is a fair amount of reading and writing (every week). The writing is much easier than I thought it would be. Some if not most of the concepts found in the reading material is relatable and therefore easy to grasp. The quizzes can be hard if your not keeping up with the material (3 quizzes).
Be ready to read a lot otherwise good class.
I enjoyed that this professor had the modules easy to navigate, which meant that you can see what was upcoming, which helped keep on track
Great professor. Very understanding when conflicts arise. Is very clear about what is expected of students in the class.
Professor does not take extra credit or make-up work of any kind. If you miss a due date, you're pretty much screwed. Not many assignments, so If you miss a single assignment or do bad, it's very likely that you'll fail.
Professor is understanding and caring! Easy going class with helpful lessons to be learned.
I enjoyed this class.
I enjoyed this class thank you
I found the class structure to be clear, consistent, and well-organized. The content was paced well, with a good mix of reading, reflection, and activity. The professor offered excellent feedback. The professor prepared us for the difficult quizzes, but I wonder if such an analytical course does not translate well to multiple-choice tests?
Worst experience ever. No student should fail a class because they can't afford a book. But she feels so important that she wants us to purchase a book she intentionally makes difficult to access because it has her name on it.
she was fine: content wasn't very interesting to me and textbook was her own so it was frustrating we still had to buy it. quizzed on textbook readings + weekly “optional” readings (need to annotate 10 by end of term) which was odd to me, but it was fine. i think she'd be better in-person; didn't upload any lectures the whole term but is passionate
Interesting class, useful knowledge for anyone - not just psych majors! Real life decision making skills that can be taken into the world. No recorded lectures, just reading/annotating the required $65 online textbook and other articles + one assignment per week (discussion posts take a LONG time though so start early in the week) + 2 exams.
Tests are hard, but doable when you study. Things are sourced directly from the reading, no surprises.
Excellent course, excellent professor. Very much enjoyed the content, interesting and thought provoking. Would highly recommend for students in second or third year of instruction. Very helpful tools and strategies for when the big life decisions come up.
Great teacher. Just keep up with the discussions and you'll be fine in the class. You'll do great!
Confusing grading scale. Really important to get assignments in on time. Instructions for assignments and canvas layout are also confusing. Not the most difficult class but was just confusing in so many ways and I didn't always understand why I got lower grade even if she told me.
This was a challenging class, but worth the effort! I expected this to be my easy class, but it turned out to be my most difficult one for the term. There was a lot of required reading each week. Ursina was encouraging. I enjoyed the class content, and I learned concepts I probably would not have studied anywhere else.
