Structured class, a very good professor.
he is the worst teacher I ever had, his exams are really tough and he is an asswhole in the way he teach and grade, gives too much homework, and has a very stupid rules
His exams are hard. But he wants to help. You gotta study to get a good grade with him - no shortcuts.
Good professor! If you don't attend class & don't do the homework, then you will do bad. He is clear, and wants you to learn by doing. I would take him again. Tests come slides, homework, & in class quizzes. Strongly recommend!
This guy is a real teacher! He comes prepared to class and his lessons are thought out! The bottom line is, if you don't come to class with your homework, you'll fail. If you come to class "prepared" you'll do really well.

He is one of the worst instructor I have ever had. Good instructor requires lots of things that he does not have. He is not understandstable, no matter what the situation is. Very stubborn and makes student's life miserable. Do not take this guy.
Dr. Bose is really tough. He never understand student's situation. He makes stupid rules and his tests are really hard. After giving so much time for this class, it is tough to make a B in his class. Avoid him if you consider your GPA!!!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! Dr. Bose is stern and inflexible. He will not budge nor deviate from his rule base. Avoid if at all possible. Plenty of other great instrcutors to take.
This guy is a total jerk. People like this should not be teaching in our country, America! Why don't they go back to their own country and get the flip out of ours!
one word BORING. Some of the test questions come right off the prenhall website. However, you still have to read the chapters. The material is sooooooo boring. Everyone brings in homework from other classes. Make sure to attend class, a quiz is given almost every time.

He will put you to SLEEP. The class is painful and I feel very sorry for those who have to take Bose. He assigns work every week and is a very bad lecturer! avoid and wait for someone else.

Very hard exams, even if you study hard for the test he comes up with tricky quiestions.. In my clas there is only one A two B's the rest are C's and D's Stay awy from him. and if you must take him. Go to class because he gives quizzes and do the homework since they count for a big part of the grade..
One of the most boring classes I've ever had, but the material itself is pretty boring so can't expect much there. A little hard to understand at times, but everything is straight-forward so not much of a problem. Studying isn't hard, just time-consuming, if you want an A, be prepared to study, especially if you don't have much prior comp exp.
Mr. Bose was helpful. I have trouble with computers, but he was patient. If I was a computer major I would take him again.
Attend class, study for the test and do the assignments and you'll come out the class with an A or B. Don't do the above and you'll fail. I will recommend this teacher.
You have to really study for the test if you expect to make an above average grade. The powerpoint slides that he provides are not enough to make an A on the exams. Lots of busy work including quizzes and group assignments.
He is a nice guy. I wasn't intrested in this class so I didn't find it intresting. For test you need to study from the book. Don't beleive that you can make a good grade if you study only from slides.
I took the on-line section and had to attend 3 exams on campus. This guy was late to every single one of them. He was over 45 minutes late to the final! Dr. Bose needs to learn how to respect his students' time. I wouldn't be taking the on-line section if I could wait all day for him to show up to class.
I took his summer online class, it was terrible! TOO much homework!! We had homework to turn in almost every weekday!! Had to attend 3 exams on campus. He doesn't curve at all! The tests were divided 2 parts, multiple choices and short answers or drawing graphs. If you have others choices, DO NOT take his class.
This class is a drag literally drag. He drags out his lessons. Snore city!!!!!!!!
Dr. BOse is a Ok professor he's not really hard if you read, and do you work but he gives in in class lecture quiz almost every class and it's alot of information to retian I probably would not take him again
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. That's all I have to say, I actually dropped his class even though I needed to finish it at a certain time and I would be graduating a semester before if I had stuck through with it, Boring, Loud, does not relate to working students at all. Def a NO NO !!
If you want a easy "A" or "B" pick this class!!Yes he is boring because he only lecture to the powerpoint. Only 3 Test(easy),5 take home group quizzes(easy), 5 group assignment(easy). You'll need the book to answer the "group assignment". The test are very easy, just study the power point breifly. He is old school (don't give a break)

He has TONS of busy homework, which he grades EXTREMELY hard on. Good luck getting better than a C on all homework. Tests are VERY thorough. This guy is a total #$%. He has no compassion for anyone and isn't affraid to let you know about it. Students were constantly getting mad at his rediculous catch 22 rules and grading....good luck.
He is one of the best teachers in the whole UHD. people who commented bad about him are students who seek easy grades.
I respect the man, he really knows what he's talking about. Yet he makes the class so stressful! He is WAY TOO PICKY with quizzes and homework - he often added unnecessary words to my sentences!! Takes points off over stupid stuff. This class is a business core course and he makes it more difficult than it needs to be. RUN!!!
Being an IT Analyst in the "Real World", this class should have bee a breeze. However with the team member and his way of grading I'm on the line of making a B or a C and I'm one of the lucky ones… He grades like you did something wrong to him! If you're forced to take his class pick you Partner First Day, this will make or break you.
This man is the worse i've had to deal with! I did all my homework and got nearly half the points! He grades too picky on the homework and the test.. I studied my @$$ off and still failed the class.My GPA was a 3.0, not anymore with this class! I suggest taking online over this man! DON'T BE STUDID, AVOID HIM!
The comments about this prof are true. He is so anal. I took his class online and work with MS everyday but because he counts so many points for unnecessary things it makes the class difficult. I had the mistake of another student (never meet student in my life) and he accused us of cheating. He gives entirely too much busy work. DO NOT TAKE HIM

Online class in Fall '07. Very strict grader and overall rigid person. 10 quizzes, 10 assignments, one "project." There are 4 exams plus final, all scheduled at UHD on Fridays from 4-5PM. No curve. No personality.

FOUND OUT TOO LATE Anything I learned in this class, I learned on my own. I could have learned just as much by buying the book and not having to pay over $800 to have an inept “burned out” and for a lack of better terminology, Dr. Bose PHD of Analogy to be a figure head for this department. 7% an A 12% a B 5% a C. 76% LOST He should be fired.
Bad-Lousy instructor.Keep Away.He cares more about "being right" than caring about the students concerns and issues.Does not allow proctoring of exams even though University Center maintains agreement with UHD.Gave old instructions for previous books. Very confusing. His homework instructions are disorganized and hard to follow-understand.
He gets an "F" for instruction,helpfulness, organization,cohesiveness,and a willingness to provide for an "environment of learning". Very Poor Instructor. He cares more about rigidity that any other aspect of teaching. Avoid him. Check the history of all the posts. The mean level of all the post warn you about the poor quality of teaching.

I liked this professor. His lectures are hard to get through - you have to go to class because he gives quizzes and takes attendance. He was helpful on the assignments. The tests are a bit much, but if you go to class, do the assignments and study you will do alright.

Teaches this class as if you were obtaining your Doctorate in MS Office applications. Extremely difficult class. He will test you on concepts that are extremely irrelevant and have nothing to do with everyday use of these applications. He expects the student to understand the indepth programming knowledge behind these applications. Avoid this class
He is very hard and the least helpful, assignments are tricky and will only help you if he has time. Like the 4 others said, he's not a good professor, if your looking for a challenge than take him if your a beginner in computers than DO NOT even step inside his classroom.
Dr. Bose, if you even want to call him a doctor. There is one word for this guy, and that's "burnout". Not helpful at all, the best thing for most students to do is completely ignore the lectures and just read the book in class. Does not care if you are a working person, you can tell he just does not care anymore.
Instructor does not grade fair. Too many quizzes and assignments, and lengthy exams. Online class but exams were held at campus on FRIDAY NIGHTS! Spent over $300 in books and useless codes because he was too lazy to grade the material himself. Too bad this was the only class left for me. He's not helpful at all and I'm advanced in MS Office.
he is a little rigid and anal, but he's an ok person. quizzes are easy, but the assignments are tedious and he grades them very particularly. avoid him if you can, but if not then its not too bad. just keep your cool and do as he asks. its not hard to get a B with nominal effort, but an A is challenging.
This Teacher is Worthless. Do not take him at all. I took him online and hated his class. Not Flexible. Way to much Homework, Quizes, Discussions, Research Paper and Exam. Exams are on campus. Why is everyone complaining about this man? This is an education, not a picnic. I have a solid A in his class with nominal effort. Read the book and do what is asked of you and you would've had an A, too.
This is supposed to be an easy Word, Exel, PPT clas and he makes it extremely difficult, takes off points for menial things, grades unfairly....good lecturer but cuts no slack for working adults....STAY AWY!!His name is not on the schedule because pple read these comments and won't enroll in his class....don't take him if you want a decent grade...
HE IS HORRIBLE!! Do not take him if you can help it. He does not like to help students. He teaches at such a fast pace you should never miss a class. All the wok you do in class is a quiz grade and he never lets anyone out on time so schedule your next class atleast 30 minutes later. Also gives crazy homework every class period. RUN DON'T TAKE HIM
I see the other ratings but I got a high/high A and I'm an "old" 50+ student with NO computer skills. You DO have to read the book - actually 2 books - and do the homework - but the homeworks are real straight forward exercises - no thought - just exercise. Word, Excel, Power Point - Bring a "stick" to keep your work from class to take home.
He does not like to help students. Please consider someone else First!
I didn't have any problems with Dr. Bose, however, I know that several of my classmates did. He was unwilling to help them during in class projects. Talked down to them, etc. etc. He is knowledgeable about computers and what he's teaching, but I wouldn't take another class from him.
Alot of people complained about him, but those were the same people who missed classes and turned assignments in late. I found him to be knowledgeable and easy to follow. The class did consist of alot of homework so be prepared for that.

This instructor is only collecting a check. He does not instruct. Only assigns. He pretends to be helpful, etc. In actuality he is not! I took his course even after reading these unsatisfactory comments about him. I regret it so. It has damaged my GPA and wasted my hard earned money! I am considering changing schools!
Dr. Bose is very clear about his expectations. You must attend class & do the work to do well. What you would expect from a college course. Took a hybrid class & it was great. Would recommend for people ready to learn. Grading entirely fair & upfront. Much homework & assignments. Learned very much.
wow,what a professor. i think all he cares about is his paycheck. he preteds to be teaching you but ib reality he is not. if he takes his own exam he wouldn;t finish it on time or even pass it. he doesn't know what course material to teach. infact he is not a teacher.get rid of him..get yourself somebody helpful and knowledgeble.Bad teacher,school
Very tough grader, focuses on format and his beliefs. Your opinions are wrong if not in line with what he or the book says. Useful class and most of the information comes straight from the book. Study the book extensively and do all assignments and quizzes. A lot of work!
Dr. Bose is clear on what he wants and is not flexible nor lenient on his grading. Be prepared to get poor grades on his assignments because he is a harsh grader. I ended up with a B but the rest of my classmates did not fare so well. It is possible to do well, but you have to study really hard and word for word. Don't take his class lightly.
Dr. Bose is a great proffesor! You really learn in his class. however I have to give a bad rate for Dr. Bose because his final exam was ridiculously overwhelming most classmates stayed until the last minute trying to finish, some students were not able to finish the exam on time. Proffesor don't care about students getting good grades
The class was taken online and many students complained about him and I understand why. I ended with a A in the class. If you have a good memory you will be okay. Need to work significantly and the final is long. You have 2 hours to finish. Many students were not even in the third part of the exam and time was finishing.
STAY AWAY! We caught errors on exams and he still didnt give credit that was due! If you're smart, you would listen to the previous comments at least from 2006 and not take him!
Did not like this teacher. Took a hybrid class and before we met for our first class he already gave us a quiz. Material is hard, he grades tough, and his tests are very challenging and tricky (he uses the test bank). He's very strict and picky, didn't announce bonus and drowns you in quizes, homework, and group assignments. Would not retake him
All I have to say is DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He is the harshest grader gives you no additional opportunities in the course and absolutely does not care about anything circumstances you have or may have in life. I still gave him his points for clarity cuz he does know his stuff.

Very boring class. He does not make the class interesting. His assignments are the most challenging. The assignments consist of deeper skills with excel and access. There are other classes that make powerpoint presentations and are very interesting than his assignments.
23 quizzes, 5 long and hard assignments, 3 tricky exams, and 1 hardest Final exam. Decide for yourself if you still wanna take him, doesn't care about his students and can't teach. I hope he will realizes soon his students have other classes to study for to not just only for his class.
Final as hard! Weekly quizes online. They weren't hard though. Lots of opportunity to do well. Busy class so you had to be on it always. He is very clear about grades, rules, etc. First class I wanted to drop. Stuck in and it paid off. Don't be intimidated by the number of assignments. Tests are hard though..must read the material
You have to be dedicated to complete this class; since it focusses on information systems, I was very interested. I definitely learned a few new things for my job. Professor is clear about his expectations, but there are plenty of chances for you to do well- all of the quizzes are 10 questions and online! Come on! Read the books, and come to class.
Wow.. Dr. Bose is by far the worst professor I have taken during my UHD career. Short deadlines, impossibly hard to impress, and generally uncaring. Do yourself a favor, take someone else. Please, remember to fill out the end-of-semester survey because its the only way to be heard.
If you want to lower your GPA get in this class.You will be so busy with reading, self tests, & quizzes that you will have no time to work on other classes. 23 Quizzes, 4 big assignments, 1 big team assignment, & 3 exams & Final. All of the course work is extremely hard. You better study. As for help do not expect a lot of help. EARN YOUR GRADE!!!!
Hands down the worst teacher at the university. Makes it to where you can not succeed. Unbelievably unfair. But you gotta take the class to graduate. Good luck. Loves bothering students. Gets his rocks off watching us suffer.
Extremely unprofessional and difficult to communicate with. He treats students like children that are trying to get one over on him. Does not give a schedule and stated he didn't feel he needed to give students advance schedule. His assignments are non stop and you hardly have time to work on other classes. I'm a hard worker. This professor is terrible! Grade paper harshly and took of points for "not following instructions", presented guidelines to him and he simply said "oh, I assumed a college student knew that was a requirement". Really???? He will not work with you, will flood you with work and do his best to take points away for any little reason. AVOID HIM!
Willing to help but his class is overwhelming because it consists of quizzes due each week, 3 exams with as many as 6 chapters each, a team project and 4 assignments, all very harshly graded. I wouldn't take him unless you have a lot if time and likes computer science. Most tests were curved, he is very organized
I was so scared to take this professor after reading all of the comments on here. I really do not understand people. You have to earn your grade...it won't be given to you. I had no problem. I studied and did as he asked. Had I worked a tad bit harder I could've had an A. It is a lot of work but nothing to complain about honestly. People are lazy
Bose is not approachable and rude. The class is depressing as he RARELY gives a grade higher than low B. Only 1 assignment is done individually. 3 writing assignments with a team that he selects. He grades HARSHLY. HE does not give all requirements. If your team writes poorly expect failing grades. PLEASE TAKE A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR!
He is a great professor. His tests are the same with all the quizzes. There are at least 2 online quizzes due every weekend but it super easy with 10 MC questions. He gave us a lot of take home assignments but you will learn a lot after all. People who complained and dropped his class are lazy to study. I wish I could take him again.
He will nitpick your paper to death. Quizzes and assignments are rapidfire along with a group project. I recommend you take three classes including his because the workload seems unending. You can make it through though because you have to. His test are not too difficult.
Mr. Bose is actually not a bad teacher. His lectures are straight forward, but his lectures are limited. MAKE SURE You read each chapters key terms prior to the tests. If you take initiative and read the chapter before class, youll be disappointed because his lectures are limited. i took him hybrid so maybe its different otherwise. Good course.
I took MIS as a summer class and it was a lot of work. 4 assignments, 1 team assignment. The team assignment is the easiest of them all, while the individual assignments take about 6-7 hours to complete. There are 4-6 quizzes to complete every week and attendance is mandatory because of in class quizzes. Prof is very nice and respectful of effort.

"I assign your groups because employers will assign group members to your projects." My company is a bit more selective than UHD admissions. If I'm going to be graded by someone else's work, let me pick that someone else. Grading is subjective, but "I don't like the way this is formatted" is not legitimate feedback when no format is specified.
If you love doing a 5-page paper at the same time as the exam day, then take him. I'm not sure whether it's because I took him in the summer, but It was very overwhelming. Each week, we have an essay due with so many instructions, length of assignments are 4-7 pages and exams are OKAY if you study well. I wouldn't recommend as a top choice.
He is the lead professor but had 3 other assistant professor teach the Summer 6 wk course. He did not introduce himself to any of the classes until the week before final. The workload that he approves is outrageous as I didnt learn anything about MIF. Asked summer classes for feedback to incorporate in future classes but did not help current class.
Took this class during the summer and the work was excessive. At least 4 quizzes each week plus group assignments each week as well as group presentations. Did not learn anything about MIS unfortunately. At times it was difficult to gain knowledge of the course due to all of these assignments. Be cautious when signing up for this professor.
Probably the hardest MIS class I have taken so far. His online class is not geared properly for Online students. Be prepared to teach your self as his assignment are vague in most cases. He nit picks everything and grades like he gave you everything needed to do the assignment properly. I don't want an easy class, but I also want to succeed.
Possible the worst online teacher at UHD. Barely interacts with students. Nitpicks on things that legitimate managers would not. I work for a Fortune 500 companies and my manager thought the course would add zero value. My manager was right. Save your $ and go somewhere else.
Professor Bose is a true University professor. The course material is not hard, he just challenges you to put forth your best efforts in his class. Students need to understand that part of a University education is meant to train your work ethic for the future. If Dr. Bose was an employer, would you do easy work to impress him? Think about it...
Passionate about the subject. Be as thorough as possible in homework and follow directions exactly, he is a tough grader who expects your best effort. Weekly(-ish) online quizzes, just read the book and don't forget. Pretty generous in curving exams, but still need to study well. Drops lowest homework grade and two lowest quiz grades.
Lots of reading - 4 quizzes due every week, but all open book. Midterm/Final is lockdown. 1 Group presentation. Pair up with people that know what they're doing to help with the workload in terms of studying and quizzes. Overall, the class inst hard, but it is time consuming. Just keep a large circle of friends to help with the workload.
The worst professor. It's taught by Dr. Bui, not Dr. Bose. The amount of quizzes & cases is ridiculous for a 6 wk course, but that isn't the worst part. The midterm & the finals are about memorization. No notes, no book, & you have to practically remember every word in the text for the tests. There is a graded group presentation that isn't bad.
The workload is very heavy with little reward. Everything is open book except mid term and final exams. The exams are really a test on your ability to memorize rather than learning the subject matter. If you are a good test taker you will do good, otherwise you may struggle since the exams are lockdown and all about what you memorize.
MBA 6207 - Worst professor ever taken. Tough grader. 15 articles, 13 chapters (two each - each week) are quizzed on. Exams are 67 questions in 75 min. Very difficult. Lots of reading. one group project over a specific article. he decides (cant choose groups or articles for yourself). 4.0 student who got a B with 2 class left in MBA Program. AVOID!
High expectations. 6 week course that requires 2 Chapters and 3 articles each week plus 5 quizzes. Plan on reading an entire book for the class. Roughly 13 chapters plus 15 articles AND 28 quizzes. Oh did i mention a group projects that starts the following week. He doesn't care and makes this class one of the worst in the MBA program. Stay away!!!
I would steer clear from taking this Professor. This class is very unorganized, lots of reading, 4-6 quizzes every week, a group project, a mid term, and a final. The mid term and final are done through ProctorU, which you have to pay for. He just reads off slides for lectures. Very tough grader.

He'll give quiz due every sunday which are not hard, as well as in class assignments that are so different to the quizzes and the test. Test are multiple choice have to take them in class and has nothing to do with the in-class but the textbook. Do not take this professor if you have trouble on exams.

One of the worse professors on the campus. His teaching style and structure is disappointing. Workload is unmanageable and unrealistic. You take 7 quizzes per week and your exams are thru proctorU that you pay and you cannot use notes for the heavy material you must memorize. Test are over 7chapters and 3 case studies by HBR. Run!
Avoid this teacher. You have to pay to take the tests, and you have to speak up every class. Almost everything is graded equally with no extra credit. There are 5 quizzes a week and the tests have many questions. Do not take.

DO NOT TAKE HIM, STAY AWAY! The worst class and worst professor ever! You have to pay ProtorU $50 for two tests. 5 quizzes per week. Very tough grading in group projects, don't give any group an A. Many students drop the class, you have to do the project by your own. There are only a few students out of total 75 students get A, most get C.
Please stay away from this professor. He uses ProctorU instead of Lockdown Browser, which costs you $50 for two exams. 4-6 Quizzes + Case Study Quizzes a week. Tough grading on the group assignment (Make sure you follow the rubric to a T). Overall lack of empathy to students. Lectures don't help for any exams. Try to take a different professor.
AVOID AT ALL COST, taking him for a synchronous online class and he makes the exams due DURING the class time we would attend and of course on lockdown browser. He has quizzes due at the end of each class and you have to physically scan the work you did (No typing it out) to turn it in and the time limit doesn't help. Take someone else if you can.
please do not ignore the bad reviews like I did... I am taking System Analysis and Design and this class should not be as hard as it should. I know someone from main campus who took this class there and its supposedly an easy class. DO NOT TAKE. this will be the first time i'll be failing a class. I am usually an A+ student.
