He is very unclear. he does not let you ask questions while in class, you must make an appointment if you have a question; even if it is related to what ever he is teaching at that momemnet. also he is always 15 minutes late for class
I got an Incomplete in his course because I became very ill in the middle of the semester. I finished all the work by the deadline he gave me, yet I still have not gotten a grade for the course, and it has been over two months. This teacher doesn't care!
he is always late (10-20min) even tho on the exam day and he doesnt give us time
No Comments
No comments. Just dont take his class. There are many econ. professors to choose from, but this one.
This is the worst teacher Ive ever had. Hes late, not helpful, mean, and isnt clear on anything. Save yourself whatever you do dont take this class. This guy is a *&*&**&*. Take the advice.
He is good in teaching, everything is up to the students to get a good grade. It is about your responsibility. He is fair in giving grade

You can read the book and understand the material but, his test will throw you off. You will get a low grade though you understand the material. Very frustrating. Try to get another Econ. teacher.
Nightmare.... He is a very hard instructor... never ever take him.. dont listen to what others day good about him... He is a total psycho
Never ever take his class. It is very hard to get an A. Almost impossible... He should be banned from teaching.... He is bad, real bad.
He is an ****. He is really hard. do not ever take him.
He is one of the owful teacher i have ever seen. Please don't take his class, if you want to keep your grade good.never, never and never take
HE SIMPLY SUCKS!!!!!!!!
he dont have the skill to teach... i hate his class
Very hard and unclear; i do not think he knows what he is teaching. Worst professor ever.
I am agreeing with everyone else. I am now a zombie with no sence of humor or desire to move on in life thanks to this class. No one will ever love me, and I will live under a bridge somesay. All I wanted was to get an education....wwwhhhhhy!!!!??
this is a very hard class. if you want to have a hard time passing economics, choose this guy..
he is a total PSYCHO... He should be appointed by the goverment to punish the criminals with his teachings.....
this guy gets a F-
This man enjoys reading from a publisher's PowerPoint and doesn't come up with any original ideas. He will do this, the entire semester: sit on his rear, read verbatim from slides, then regurgitate the same info in his own words. He's a mess, clueless, and his stories are completely useless BUT! he's willing to help you. Form your own conclusion...
get him out of north lake and make him work at McDonalds.
DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!! he doesn't even show up to class... and if he did, he come late all the time. He doesn't care if you do good or not. All he does is talking about how smart his children is. If you take him, be prepare to go to tutor alot or read on your on own and hope for the best
I do not recommend this teacher at all, please stay away from him if you can. He is not helpful at all. can't teach his class well.
His tests are kind of above average hardness. He just wants his student to see how it is at a real college, so his tests are harder. He gives a lot of extra credit though in form of online assignments. And since you have to study for the assignments, there's no need to study for the tests. You can get an A with just doing the homework and Bs in tes
his class is hard never answers emails really boring and not much help...but he does give lots of extra credit and hes pretty cool
This prof is not that bad people! I took his economics class over the summer and got an A. I hardly studied. Do the homework and pay attention! He was almost always late, but the teaching itself was not bad.
He's honestly really not that bad...u just need to do exactly as he says to pass the class. If you are the rebellious type, this class is definitely not for you. If you like working hard, have fun with it...
Professor Agulefo will push you to the max. He demands hard work from his class. He has been an international student in many countries. His economics class is one of the more demanding classes at North Lake. He can sometimes be harsh, but what he really wants is for his students to recognize that education involves more than passing tests.
Very hard professor.. don't even think about taking his class.
doesnt teach very well. really hard class. pretty bad
Not bad, a little hard to understand at times but his class isn't that hard to get. Read the book and you're set for the most part. Do as he asks and don't slack off.
His class is very difficult especially if you have no interest in economics. He is somewhat helpful though. Overall, I would not recommend him. Take the other ECON prof.
if you're looking for a freebie you wont get it. but if you follow instructions just like i did and go to class its a B at the least. just be responsible and ask questions and you're good to go!
average tching
He is a good teacher, very willing to go back over material. ask specific questions and read the 1-2 chapters PRIOR to going to class and its an "A". I'm in highschool dual credit and got an "A" in SummerI. Takes about 3 hours of studying a day. He teaches powerpoint from the book. Aplia questions sometimes found on yahoo answers. He's tough though
This professor stands out from His colleagues. NLC has a lot of well educated professors who are good at what they do, but Agulefo takes his position more seriously than most. I would say his main goal is to force his students to think hard about economics. ECON (especially 2302) is a class that requires a lot of hard work training the mind.
Great teacher and definitely smart. He is the type that uses economics not on a purely speculative view, but in the idea that it encompasses everything in our lives (from politics to simple shopping). He is a tough teacher, but is willing to help you reach a desirable grade as long as you're willing to work hard and learn.
I would NOT recommend Mr. Agulefo. I took his Macroecon class online:He posted an incomplete syllabus without due dates so I missed some assignments. He lied to the Biz Dean during my grade dispute. Hard class, poor teacher, and his polical views affect the class.
Took this class online *dont make the same mistake*He Takes forever to get back to your e-mails if he does at all, information on his exams don't match up the the text in the book he re-words them to trick you,2 day city-wide power outtage kept me from turning an assignment in but that was "not his problem" That proves he doesn't care
This is the worst professor I have ever had. I ended up making a B in the class, but a forewarning, I fully taught my self all the material. Theres no doubt this teacher has a little knowledge, but to be a college professor, it is ridiculous. DO NOT TAKE
one of the most unhelpful professor i ever imagined i would end up with. I had problems wid my econlab, so i couldn't do my homework, he just said "do wats possible from now onwards", wat da hell !! and i failed also coz its so hard to get his office hours...don't take his class !! please ! u'll regret !!
It's a hard subject but he gives lots of other work other than the tests to help inflate the grades. If you take the time to do all the extra assignments (he grades them easy) and communicate or ask for help when needed you'll do well. He knows the material but the subject isn't easy.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! This guy will not respond to any of your emails, has an incomplete syllabus, does not post the due date of all the assignments, making you miss the due date, and his tests are over material that the homework doesn't cover. I still managed to pass amazingly.
Do yourself a favor and chose another professor
He is so intelligent and learned in his field that as a student only meeting a "basic req" it was hard to keep up. But since it is a freshman course he is very fair and offers tons of extra credit. Every assignment and test is weighted equally so if you put in a little effort you can get an "A." Book used he quotes as "being used at harvard."
Very helpful and easy to listen to. But you will only like him if you do all the work. Also, he doesn't prepare you for the tests at all, he refuses to do review. You must be proactive and diligent to make a good grade in this class. Overall, a decent professor.
A good teacher. Most students at northlake are surprisingly lazy and willfully stupid, to put it lightly, they have no life and never will. Plus this course often fills a spot on the list of core classes, so no one wants to be an economist anyway. So that explains all the nonsense on here. He is very thoughtful and often comes across as gruff but he has a genuine heart to help and discuss. So to you all lazy worthless one...grow up and act like adults! Put some real effort into your education!
Great Professor! Just make sure to pay attention and ask questions after class, and you'll do fine. He really knows his stuff...
At beginning I didn't like the way he set up the class, but it got better and he would answer the questions if you ask. The homework part was a little bit confusing cause I was getting different answers in my homework, and I was using the book and he would say they were wrong, I did it like three times. He helped me out.
he has excellent knowledge of his subject
has real good knowledge of the subject.
Professor Agulefo is definitely the best econ professor I've had to date...very honest and knowledgeable. I'd like to see an economics debate scheduled in his syllabus to "apply" the principles that we learned. It would make for a very interesting class period
Awesome Teacher! There is a bit of work and you do need to know your stuff for the tests so its not a SKATE class but he is very passionate about teaching and that was awesome to see from a professor at a CC.
1) boring 2) goes through material quickly without caring if u understood. 3) late to class everyday but u can't be late for hw. Sometimes chapter hw will be due before he is done going over the material. 4) will say that u can have extra credit for going on field trip, you go, and then he will tell u that u had to write a paper on it?! 5) and again, he is SO boring. Try staying awake. I dare u.
I thought this class was very unorganized. He does check attendance, but I felt like going to class did not help my learning. Like the other reviews state, it's hard for me to stay awake in the class. I'm a science major so I'm not sure if it's my lack of interest in the subject or if it's his teaching style, but I've struggled in this class.
He only reads off powerpoints that you have online. Very boring.
Not that bad of a teacher. Just as long as you stay focused on his lectures and actually pay attention to his notes/powerpoints, you'll basically get a guaranteed A for his class, or if not, a high B for sure..
I took it online and it was VERY VERY EASY! All you have to do is get a grade on the applia, have a friend that tests after or before you, and you pass.
Dr. Agulefo is a brilliant professor who is passionate about Economics. You take away from the class what you put into it. The work is hard, but if you ask for help,he is there 100% of the way. You will walk away enlightened. a must take professor if you are a serious student and plan on taking your education to the next level. "TP"
Great guy, I'm actually surprised at the low reviews. He knows his stuff, the test are fair the weekly assignments are not that hard even if you don't read(you should) and the test are based solely on what he talks about in class which is as clear as day light, great teacher.
I don't get why most students don't like him. Though he's somewhat strict, he's fairly approachable and will help you if you ask for it. But make sure to avidly pay attention in class, otherwise he may be as much use to you as you'd like.
He actually seemed nice and motivated the students. I took him online during wintermester. I think it might be best to take him during this time if you can stay on track with hw everyday. He also reminded students of test deadlines. The tests weren't that hard, as long as you have the Connect account with the eBook you should be fine.
As long as you do your homework and stay awake during class, easy A. Not much extra credit. Don't try to email him, he's not tech savvy, but willing to answer questions in class.
His tests are very hard but fortunately they aren't too directly reflected on your semester grade. He does not offer extra credit. All the grades are just online quizzes and the 3 tests. He has an accent but you can still understand him. All he does every single day is walk you through power points that came with the book (which you have access to)
Literally the worst professor I have ever had. He doesn't care about his students and is horrible at teaching.
Despite some of the bad reviews Prof. Agulefo happens to be one of the few teachers I liked. He's a very straight forward person and the work at times is challenging but it's not high school anymore so as long as you put in the effort you will pass the class.
Dr Agulefo is passionate about what he does, but he is not clear in class about expectations. He is a bit difficult to understand and also a bit unforgiving if you miss a deadline.
He is very passionate about what he does, but he is a bit confusing and hard to understand. He is not forgiving if you meet a deadline.
Sit in the front of class! I promise you the class won't be as tough if you sit in the front. He learns names quick and tries to get to know his students. Professor Agulefo is straight forward but a bit strict. If you do what is expected and required then the class should be fair. If you need help then ask for clarification. Hope this helps!
Mr. Agulefo is an amazing teacher! He gives a plentiful amount of examples while teaching. The content of this class is very difficult to understand, but as long as you use the mcgrawhill connect to study and read the chapters you'll be fine. This is a tough class without a doubt. I aced all of his tests by simply studying, and reviewing his notes.
Class was absolutely unbearable, he did nothing but read off of power point every single day in class, by far one of the most boring things I have ever done, I dreaded going to it every day.
This teacher is really kind! He tries to give the maximum points possible in homework... You need to be very prepared for his tests. If you don't review, you will fail... If you review, you will pass it with at least a B
Prof Agulefo is REALLY knowledgable. He mixes his lectures with the perfect amount of real-life situations to be able to understand the material. Sometimes it's easy to get confused. Latest Book and Code are required. You have to study for tests. Gives lots of assignments to balance the overall grade. Nice guy, teaches well. Recommendable.
This is the perfect class to take to learn more about economics. He gives great examples and relates his lectures to real life situations. He is very friendly and will learn your name. He loves class participation and make sure to always read the chapter before class to be well prepared. Gave lots of extra credit, highly recommend taking him.
The professor was a very nice person and he obviously tries to make sure everyone understands the concepts. His only issue? He was boring. I fell asleep during many lectures- along with half of the class. Almost all homework is online. He gives hard tests, but also extra credit. Text book is necessary- and you have to read to get a good grade.
One of my favorite professors. There are a lot of completion grades, which is nice, plus he gives extra credit. He does expect you to come to class but if you skip a couple its no big deal. The textbook was actually not that bad because of the author, plus he puts important info. out to the side.
I took this class during summer I so it was heavily loaded but it was a good experience. He was constantly asking feedback from students to see if his methods were efficient. Azulefo is a nice man. However, you do have to earn your grade, as in any class. But I learned a lot and do not regret his class at all.
Every professor should learn from Mr. Agulefo. He is helpful, caring, humble, understanding and a very positive man. All I have for this man is Respect.
Great Professor, he gives good feedback and help understand the difficult concepts of economic with real life examples. The reviews, from my point of view, are a bit unfair. Yes, you would have to read the book, but to be honest, microeconomics is a fundamental concept for life and business that you will not regret to learn. The tests were clear.
I took economics in high school and barely passed. Professor Agulefo takes it slow and provides a plethora of examples for each lecture. There is a ton of online work but its easy. All tests are online. You get two tries for each exam plus a question check to see if you got it right. I would definitely take him again. He is very an intelligent man.
You need to be there for the lectures and READ THE TEXTBOOK. The kids who missed class and didn't buy the textbook fell way behind in my class. I didn't have the textbook which was a stupid mistake. I ended up dropping because I didn't want to risk my GPA. Lectures are insightful and the tests aren't too bad. Just be ready to work.
Ok, I took this online class a loonnggggg time ago. He was easy peezy. Just do the assignments and it's a fair deal. I'm not sure about now, but if you're in highschool trying to get ECON out of the way, this guy is the best deal. Make sure you take the online version though, just look things up online.
I just took his class last semester. He was great with teaching materials but was NOT very understanding with his students. He called people out like teachers do in high school. He also took points off for attendance even though I missed for a funeral. Left his class with a B instead of the A just for missing an extra two days.
He is a great teacher, his lectures are very detailed and he gives great. information about this class. This is my second time taking him and he is truly amazing! 10/10 recommend
I recommend taking this class online if you're only taking it for the credit. There's reading and homework assignments you have to complete. There's a few discussions you have to do and five exams. Nothing crazy, just time consuming.
I took Econ online and the class was pretty easy. You have to do online homework once a week, but its easy and you learn the content and as long as you complete it you get a 100. Most of his tests/quizzes are on Quizlet. There were no papers; we had online discussions which were super easy. If you get less than an A, you were intentionally failing.
the best class I've ever taken, everything is on quizzlet, take him online and you'll make an A
Asks you to show up to class everyday but his power points were word-for-word from the text book. I ended up just finishing up the course from home and still managed to get an A, but he does reward points for showing up.
So many assignments, but very understanding and will work with your schedule. Most things are on quizlet, and there was lots of extra credit available.
The wintermester online course has alot of assignments in a short time period, but is mainly multiple choice and very straightforward. There are bonus points built into course, which makes it easy to get an A. Overall, I would recommend this class.
Honestly no idea how to rate him; he only emailed us when a test was posted (not complaining). All assignments graded through McGraw Hill except the project. Most assignments are on Quizlet but you need to understand the concept for others. Ecampus takes the highest grade if you attempt an assignment multiple times. 3 tests, a quiz each chapter.
dont remember much about this class since I took it in the summer. It was an intensive course so there was more work daily by default. What I do remember very clearly is how overwhelming all the assignments got. Nothing against prof Uzo; never heard from him besides for the project (not complaining). Problem was taking the class in a 1-month course
The professor made it easy to read the material to understand the topic. Overall I enjoyed his class a lot and he taught well.
The professor taught well and gave us good reference material to study. I really enjoyed his class and gave me a good understanding in economics.
Professor Agulefo was very helpful when I had trouble understanding some of the work. I took an online course with Mr. Agulefo as my professor I 100% recommend him to anyone that is taking economics!!! Great Professor!
Overall was an easy class. Dr. Agulefo will respond to your emails quickly and answered any questions that I had. Everything was clear and easy to do. As long as you complete all of the assignments on time and correctly it's extremely easy to get an A. Discussion boards are group discussions and were a bit confusing to do at first.
Took this class in 2021. The entire class revolved around reading a textbook and answering questions alongside it. The only difficult part about the class was sitting through the readings. Otherwise, the class is easy.
He is an awesome professor. Smart, kind, & helpful.
I had a great time taking this class. Participation really does matter, there is normally a weekly discussion where you talk about your thoughts in what you learned during that weeks assignments. There is reading but it's honestly not bad. I did this class 100% online and I would absolutely do take it again with this professor.
