Vahid is a rare gem. He's incredibly smart, but never makes students feel stupid. He's patient, always quick to respond to emails, and he maintains a genuine enthusiasm for what he teaches despite many of his students taking CS103 just to complete a pre-requisite. He's also a fair grader. If you put in the effort, you'll see results.

Extremely quick to respond to emails. Deftly juggled his own PhD defense with teaching us over the summer, which is a feat most people would not be able to pull off. English is not his first language, so there were a occasional words misspoken/definitions that had to be repeated for understanding, but it's CS so that got cleared up quickly.

One of the best professors ever. He gives extremely engaging lectures and he's always around to help and give assistance when he needs it. He uses all of class time and if not even more to make sure we completely understand the content and even though the problem sets are very difficult!
