grade based mainly on tests...homework only 10 percent...so if your not good at math don't take him. He's kind of hard to understand
not the best math teacher in the world, but better then most.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Won't explain if you have questions just tells you to go to the math lab. Review for tests consists of him writing sample problems on the board and that is it. He won't review how to actually SOLVE them again tells you to go to the math lab.
HE DOESNT EXPLAIN HIMSELF AT ALL. VERY RUDE WHEN YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. HE ASSUMES YOUR SUPPOSED TO UNDERSTAND THE FIRST TIME HE SAYS SOMETHING. THE ONLY REASON I PASSED THE CLASS WITH AN A IS CUZ I HAD ALREADY TAKEN IT IN HIGH SCHOOL.
only take him if u already have a good understanding of math, for those math illiterate like myself, dont take him. he's kinda deep lol...and hes IN LOVE with the MATH lab..dont bother asking him anything..the math lab is his answer to all of life's problems..need help in math? go to the math lab...got cancer? go to the math lab...u get it... =/
As a person who does not like Math, I enjoyed his class. I felt that he went trid really hard to ensure that his students pass. He is fair and does take time to help. He didn't excessively use "go to the lab." I would take a class with him again. He is also very funny!
This was the best teacher I have ever had for math. He explained everything clearly and logically. If he taught higher up classes I would follow him to Cal. He is funny and caring with a passion for math. This class made me change me mind about furthering a career in math.

There are no words to explain how bad of a professor he actually is. the worst i have ever had. his accent is so heavy that your brain is so tried just trying to figure out what he is saying. he doesnt like to explain things, instead he just says "go to the math lab", if your smart you'll take another teacher
If you have good foundation in math, you will understand his lectures. Even though he always tells you to go to a Math Lab for homework problems, he is a helpful teacher. If you want to get good grade, you have to follow his green sheet and make pay attention on his lectures.
i thought his class was ok. i failed 2 of the 3 tests but still managed to get a "C" in the class

I've hated math since 7th grade. I actually like it now, thanks to Mr. Singh. He explains it well and he has a great sense of humor. He makes class fun, not boring. He can sometimes go through things quickly, but he does answer questions if you have them. He is the best math teacher I've ever had and I will take him again for Algebra 2.
HE IS VERY HELPFUL TEACHER.He tells you to go to math lab because he will be there some times.I learn math in his class. Take him for learn about math
Mr. Singh is an excellent teacher! I really enjoyed his class. Not only is he great at explaining the material in a fashion to help you understand, he has a great sense of humor! If he taught Math 153, I'd take his class! He does have an accent, but it's still very easy to understand him! I give him an A+!
he is a gr8 teacher. He is one math teacher tht i ever understood. Finally after taking his class i developed interest in math.
This is a a hard class but if you do what he tells you, you'll pass. Use the math lab!!! He's a nice guy that's very helpful.
He is a thorough and patient teacher. Expect lots of homework. I never considered myself to be good at math, but he gave me an A last semester in 151 and I'll get another this semester in 152. I'd take him all the way up to differential equations if he taught higher than 152. Don't take him if you're a lazy ass student, simple as that.
Wow.. Mr. Singh is a funny guy, Very great math teacher, Clear explanations, willing to help you till you get it, not really leanient on grading, but if you do your home work the tests are cake.. Have fun and now i enjoy math. Ohh yeah lots and lots of homework. Be ready.
MUCH HW, TEST EVERY DAY , HARD A
hE IS REALLLY GOOD TEACHER.Knows his stuff welll.Keeps intersts in class . Sometimes he has difficulty to make the things clear but he always fo his best ... Alot of hw .Tests r allittle bit hard. I recommend this teacher if u reallly interseted in maths.
Good teacher. My academic weakness lies in math but he did what he could to help me understand it. Lots of hw but not hard if you pay attention. Class can get a little slow at times but regardless I would recommend his class.
very cool teacher. hw system is very easy! tests are not hard. he is a fun teacher. just do your work and you'll pass. he will always answer a question.
I absolutely loveeeeeeeeee this teacher! he's so silly and he is always there to help you when you need it. very clear and gives a lot of examples. excellent grading scale. lots of homework and some quizzes but they are all well timed so you are not overloaded unless you procrastinate. you'll do fine as long as you attend class and pay attention.
Mr. Singh is a very good teacher and extremely helpful. He's also funny. He'l answer any question u have and his class was pretty easy and simple. HW due at the end of every week which gives u a lot of time. I did my HW and payed attention in class n barely missed an A
Highly recommand!! Mr. Signh is clarity in any question we ask. Easy pass.
It was a self-paced & I got all the way to the end of the semester and finished all my homework but didn't have enough time to finish all the test and he failed me. I didn't ask him a single question the whole semester & when I finally asked him for help he said there was other students he had to help and he couldn't help me. Alsp HORRIBLE accent!
AMAZING TEACHER! i was in his 6:45 a.m. class and he kept us awake in the morning and laughing because he is naturally very funny. very helpful teacher and extremely understanding and nice. willing to help when he is in the math lab. Make sure you go to all his classes though cuz he teaches very well and it's much clearer than reading the book!
i took the self-paced class. attendance is semi-mandatory .he seems to have a lot of difficulty with the technology. not very helpful if you have questions.he's not very aware of his surroundings either, and being in any situation with him can be kind of awkward. the class itself was easy. you get a 2nd chance if you get lower than 70% on a test.
I have mixed feelings for him. He's nice, and likeable, and clearly knows a lot about math. But I took a class he never taught before and it sucked. All he does is give book examples. We only had 3 tests all semester, and generally everyone in the class is confused. Doesn't grade for work shown, either. Hopefully he will for final grades!
He is the worst teacher I have ever had. He's a very nice man but this was his first time teaching the class and he gave so little help it was absurd. I asked him what I needed to score on the final to pass and he wouldn't tell me. He also didn't give out a study guide for the final. I wish he'd done a better job or cared more about my class.
very funny teacher tat gets you attentive in class while teachin the proper material
i liked him a lot, i thought he was very funny! i didnt pass, but that was my own fault and not his!
He was great. I had him Spring 08. His examples were usually somewhat similar to the test and quizzes just different numbers. He is very helpful as well if you ask for it. I learned more from him than in my High School career. He is also a very sweet and understanding man.
He is a very down-to-earth teacher; just don't irritate him by going on the computer all the time! All he needs is your full attention--as long as you're not rude and you pay attention he will not put you on the spot. Just stay on top of the hw and you'll do okay. Don't procrastinate!!
One of the best teachers I have seen on a college level. He knows how to take a class on a same level. Well his tests are very easy and you can easily get a good grade but you have to keep up with the homework or it will mess with your final grade.
Mr. Singh is a delight. He is easy to follow and very thorough in his explanation. He was very fair as far as making it possible for you to get a good grade. I highly recommend him!!
Everyone that thinks he is a good treacher must be smoking something! you can not understand him! also he relates things like parents leaving a child in the bathroom @ a rest stop to math! he does problems on the board that are wrong and your lucky if you can figure it out to correct them! you also have to do the homework on the internet which suck
he was a really helpful teacher really enjoyed his class especially since he uses the internet thing he was really koo he cracked a couple of jokes here and there the class climate was nice loved his teaching way he really seems to care for his students take him
He is really good at making the information understandable and his test are not too difficult. The only thing i didnt like was that he doesnt take time after class to talk with students he kind of brushes you off.
Mr. Singh is one of my favorite teachers at Ohlone. He definitely knows how to wake his students up, because I took his class at 6:40 in the morning M-F. Although I missed many days, I still passed with a B. He's pretty nice, funny, and understanding.
Although he's hard to understand at times, he knows what he's talking about. Gives good help and is pretty funny at times. The class was long, but easy. If you like working on your own, self paced with Singh is a good idea. He is really nice, lets you take breaks outside of class and lets you leave after you finish a test. Great class. Great prof.
BEST ALGEBRA 2 TEACHER EVER. IF YOU FAIL YOU MUST BE AN IDIOT.HE IS SO CHILL AND EASY.HAD HIM AT 640AM BUT IT WAS NEVER A PROBLEM. boosts ur grade by 5%,takes best 10 quizzez out of 13 or 14,and attedance isnt mandatory.he is easy to understand and funny. overall really good teacher. HIGHLY reccommended.
He is such an awesome teacher! I used to do terrible in math. But he made me really like math again. He takes a lot of time to make sure you know the material. he is probably one of the best teachers at Ohlone. He grades fairly and does not overload you with homework. I would take a class with him anytime!
Singh is the best math prof, i have ever had. He is funny, easy going, and spends a lot of time trying to help his students! He sacrifices a lot of his free time at school.. the classroom is literally this guy's second home. I wouldn't mind taking another course with Singh. He's Cool ;)
He is an awesome teacher, very clear about everything and will help when you need. I had porr attendence, which was why i ended up with a lower grade than expected, but test and quizes are easy. Quizes are every time you meet but they help.
Had him for Alg 2, awesommmeee teacher! He loves math and really wants to help his students, tries to work his schedule around them and says cute little math jokes haha. tests are just like the quizes, come to class and do your hw and you'll get a B atleast.
Cool teacher.Fair grader
Professor Singh is an AWESOME TEACHER!! he explains so well and makes math seem so simple. The tests are pretty fair and he always gives a review sheet before. He drops your 3 lowest quiz scores and adds an extra 5% to your homework grade. Even if you hate math if you listen and ask him for help you'll get at least a C.
The person who posted below is mistaken. The last time Mr Singh taught Trigonometry was a decade ago. He teaches Algebra I and II only and he is the best teacher for this job! I know because I took his class 3 years ago and ever since I know him! So please stop posting such stupid posts! HE IS AN AMAZINF TEACHER!
I'm taking his self-paced class. You use a computer program to teach yourself the material. However, he and TA's are always in the room to answer any questions you might have. The downside is since it's self-paced you can easily fall behind. If you keep to the syllabus he makes, you'll be fine and pass the class easily. Very friendly guy as well.
Professor Singh is THE BEST TEACHER EVER!! As for all the people who say he's hard, you guys are just slackers and probably don't even try to understand math. He makes everything in math seem so easy and simple. He drops your worst 3 quizzes and adds 5% to your homework! Seriously the best math professor I've ever had!!!
Singh is a great math teacher. He definitely knows what he's talking about. Attendance is important because of pop quizzes. If you pay attention and do your work, you will be fine.
He is the nicest and the best math teacher anyone can have.
Really amazing Professor. Super nice and friendly and helps out his students a lot. You can tell that he really cares about the students and takes the time to help them. There is also extra help in the class which is great. I'm taking the self paced class. So its up to you if you want to pass. Do your work online and take the tests.
Mr singh is very nice teacher just do work in class easy A
Easy and cool teacher. Do your HW on Mathlab. 3 Tests , 1 Final. Takes the top 8 scores of your quizes.
Professor Singh is perceived as a very easy teacher and that he is if you pay attention in class to what he teaches. There are daily quizzes out of 15 points in which he drops a few at the end of the class along with a test or two. He is pretty nice and gives extensions if necessary. Do all the homework and pass it since it is a part of the grade.
Some people have a hard one understanding him, but I didnt. Hes really nice and generous with help if you need it. He asks us about how we feel were doing and offers opportunities to do extra credit that is actually relevant to the class and helps us learn. Incredibly approachable and spends a lot of time in the lab so we can ask for help.
Singh is a great professor! He has an interesting sense of humor, which he uses to make lectures fun. There will be quizzes often, probably every other class meeting, but he takes the best eight and drops the rest. There are three major tests; the homework is online and must be done prior to taking each unit test.
Showed up every day, did most of the homework, took all the pop quiz's - even then, I still managed to come out with an F. I Had a hard time understanding the subject, it wasn't explained well. Goes off topic at randomly, quiz every session, as well as not writing down anywhere when the tests are, or when the homework is due.
So I took the self paced intermediate algebra class for 153. Professor Singh was very helpful and i felt he truly cared. The class itself is extremely hard. If it wasn't for Professor Singh being understanding and helpful, I probably wouldnt have passed the class with a good grade.
Singh is an okay teacher. He doesn't teach very well, and he grades horrible. You can have the question almost all correct and he still doesn't give you any credit for the problem. He does not give feed back and does not put the correct answer when you get it wrong. Also he give practice tests but doesn't give the answers to them...
He's Great! Don't expect anything to be handed to u on a silver platter, u have to work for ur grade! If u get a ? wrong, all u have to do is ask, and he sits with u & breaks the ? all the way down until u understand it. He teaches each chapter in an easy way so you can understand better, 13 quizzes-only counts 10, Online HW and 4 tests. Recommend!
I took Professor Singhs self paced class. I went through a few chapters every day in class on the computers and finished the class a few weeks before finals, giving me time to prepare for my other classes. As long as you dont let the homework and tests pile up and you should be able to get an easy A. His TA Javier was great at explaining too.
Professor Singh is incredible! Show up to class, do homework, ask questions, and you will pass the course. He holds office hours, but you can schedule a specific day/time with him if you can't make that time. What helped me pass this class are his practice tests and understanding the homework. He wants everyone to succeed so asks questions.
Professor Singh is very helping teacher and be ready for quiz every week. Basic knowledge is required but, he can help in that too if you want.
Prof. Singh is one of the most caring teachers I have had at Ohlone. He is very understanding and if you didn't do something for some reason, explain and he will give you more chances. Teaches good!
Took him in the Fall Semester and didn't learn a single thing. Who uses an iPad to sketch out the problems? Use the notebook or pen, 4head. He makes people use a bottom-tier system named MyMathLab which is stupid and doesn't teach you, too. He's a noob in both remote and online classes. KEKW
I am afraid of statistics at first. The homework is not stressful and the class is easy. The professor is very caring to the point that he gives second chances to his students. One thing I would like to suggest is the class will be easy if you do the homework properly. He also prepares for practice tests which help a lot for the actual test.
Show up, listen, do the HW and you will pass. He cares about his students and tries to get you the best grade. You cant be lazy. Stats can be scary but his zoom class was pretty easy if you participate. a Returning late 20's college student and I passed. Also liked that he made it very accessible to reach him if you had an issue.
Professor Singh was great. Always willing to explain problems/answers and help students with any difficulties. Very knowledgeable and polite.
High school level math. One can honestly just teach themselves and just show up for tests and quizzes. His lectures about the chapters are alright, but could be taught so much better, despite it being algebra 2 level. I honestly only had him as a last resort because I registered for classes late, and I got what I expected.
Good professor over all, had him for precalc pretty straightforward. Mostly an easy A if you just keep up with your work. He does ensure attendance by giving pop quizzes but nothing too hard. Take him.
random quiz every week so u cant miss class. he's a sweet old guy and teaches well if u j pay attention its an easy A. he's v funny and jolly makes jokes during class. very simple straight forward. he doesn't put grades in canvas tho so u don't know til end ur grade. light class and enjoyable he's a good teacher.
Math for liberal arts was by far the easiest math class I've ever taken. There is no criteria of what he had to teach so most of the time we were reviewing middle school math. The teacher is a bit of a bore to sit through his class, but he is such a nice guy. At the end of the semester he removed some low grades which brought me from a B to and A
Discrimination against Asian students, despite the professor being Indian. Confusion due to poor use of Canvas, affecting important announcements. Stressful scheduling of assessments, hindering performance. Communication and organizational issues impacting learning. Improper grading complicating academic success.
Prof. Singh is an incredibly humane and caring teacher. As someone with an immigrant background, I came to enormously respect him for his genuine caring, sense of fairness, and embrace of student diversity and difference. He is a model of decency, an all-round good guy, and a caring and effective teacher. Lucky for anyone to take him.
Took his precalc 1 summer course. He's a great guy, super easygoing and good at explaining. I personally didn't put that much effort in at the beginning of the course, but As are definitely really easy to obtain in his class.
Professor is caring and heavily expresses the use of online materials/tutoring hours for extra help. The downside is professor has poor use of Canvas, confuses students. Lectures make no sense, doesn't really teach anything. He mostly reviews homework during lectures so you don't learn anything new. Workload is okay as long as you keep it up.
He is super caring and will always help you.
Professor Singh is an exceptional Math teacher. His knowledge about Math and Math puzzles exceeded my expectations for the class. Greatly loved his use of imageries and symbols to explain math—especially his subtle use humor in his lectures! Unfortunately, he will be retiring soon :(
Professor Singh cares about his students, open to suggestions, and new ideas. He has a great sense of humor that lightens the environment. He challenges you to think outside the box.
Mr. Singh is pretty interesting and easy going. His class is very easy as long as you put in a little effort. Your grade is totally dependent on the HM, quizes and tests (pretty easy too). However, he as an elder person is having a little trouble with technology, those online stuff is a little challenging for him, so be patient to him!
Professor Singh is an interesting and nice person. He has a quirky sense of humor. His class is pretty easy. Keeping track of your grades is important as professor has issues with technology. There are quizzes once a week, 2 tests and 1 finals which are easy to pass. 2 quizzes with the lowest grades will be dropped at the end of the semester.
This might honestly be the most fun math class I've ever taken..Not your typical math class,we learned about unusual math instead of just the usual formulas.Class atmosphere was comfortable, everyone can participate without worrying about looking dumb.I actually looked forward to math class which has never happened before lol 10/10 recommended!
I want students to know that he is really nice and fun.
Really cares about student success. Material presented is easy to understand. Do homework and review tests and you will do good. Shows problem solving using technology and formulas. Really enjoyed the class. I am not math savy but Mr. Singh explained things clearly. Truly a great teacher, one of the best Ihave had
Professor Singh cares about his students. He is funny during lecture and assigns not too much homework. Grade will depend heavily on tests and quizzes. Class is easy if you just do your homework, read textbook. Some quizzes are announced only in class and not in Canvas so don't skip too much classes.
It was a late-start class. Our course became quite disorganized due to the lockdowns and ended up having to skim over the later chapters. After the first 2 weeks, he stopped taking attendance but had in-class quizzes. His lectures will be hard to follow if you come in blind expecting to understand the new material so be ready to study beforehand.
