Would recommend this teacher he is very cool and pretty much just show up and read your book. He gives several quizzes but they are very easy and one art project but is very simple.

He is caring and his advice towards a project is great feedback and help. Does give a lot of reading material which can be a bit stressful when testing since not knowing exactly what would be on the test. He is a sweet guy.

Val is a great teacher! He is like one of our buddies in class. He is really cool about the classwork and it also is a lot of fun. I would highly recommend him as a teacher.

He was a cool teacher and we did many fun projects. We only did a few papers on examining various paintings, but overall this was a fun and simple class.

Professor Curry took art to a whole different level. I actually have to admit that this is one of the coolest classes I've ever taken and though we only met on Thursdays he really made the time we had together worth it. You will look at art in a totally new perspective while at the same time having fun. I would definitely recommend!!!

He is a wonderful professor who will work with you and make sure you will have a good grade. But if you don't try or show any interest you will not get a good grade as it would be in any class. But he cares and will help you at all cost.

Mr. Curry was accessible after class and did a lotto help me understand this class. I am not an art student but needed this class for my program of study. He made the class interesting and I learned a lot

Val Curry is exceptional, no matter what issue or non issue you have he understands everything and allows you time for everything he becomes your friend vs just your professor and only wants you to succeed in your art work and the class and love art just as much as him with out beating it down your throat. I would take this class again. he is great

Val teaches a very fun and entertaining class. He gets student engaged and keeps them involved throughout a long 3 hour class. Also he is very helpful in and out of class and truly cares about his students passing his course.

Val Currys class was one of the most fun class i have ever taken

There were plenty of hands-on projects that were very fun to participate in. The class isn't too hard but you won't be completely bored out of your mind.

Val is a really cool outgoing kind of guy and is honestly one of the coolest teachers I have had.

Mr. Curry, is a great professor and can go into full depth of a specific topic. He answers your questions when you ask him to explain a certain assignment or topic. He assigns group projects from time to time, and we've all been learning from that more than textbook assignments.

Mr. Curry is a great Art teacher. He helps you and explains certain assignments that you need help one. We have many hands-on projects which are fun to do at the moment we are doing paintings of our collages and its challenging, but fun as well.

This professor made class interesting and the environment and vibe he brings into the classroom is great!

He's very interactive with every student and tries to help in every way he can whenever you need it. He replies to emails pretty fast and gives you great feedbacks. He especially gives a lot of hands-on projects and will most likely give you time in class to finish them. Great professor!!!

Loved Prof Curry, he is super nice! If you are taking art appreciation with the expectation of just looking at art you will have a surprise. There were three mandatory art projects, but nothing hard He could work explaining things better but overall, I loved his class. He shows some pretty cool artwork and the class environment is very chill.

He's a fantastic teacher, most the stuff you'll be given is just busy work. If you don't get the question to something just answer it to the best of your ability and he'll accept it.

I took this class online, as it was one of my first online classes. I was really happy that Professor Curry was very organized and easy to work with. The assignments where all posted clearly and you even had the chance to get extra credit. The final project was my favorite. I will definitely recommend taking this class you won't regret it.

Prof. Curry is great! I took his online class and it was pretty easy. Just a couple of essays and an art project as the final! Responds quickly to emails and shows that he cares about the students. I would recommend taking him!

This was a great class and learned a lot. Professor Curry's analysis assignments were created in a way that made me open up and think more instead of using a text book and reading, taking quizzes. Also when If a student has a question he responds that same day or at least the next day. Great professor! Great class!

I took ARTS 1301, it was an online class. Professor Val Curry is a cool teacher. You have a few essay(about 5) throughout the whole semester. He also gives you Analysis Worksheets. His class is easy as long as you meet the deadlines for the assignments. He grades fairly and if you have a question about an assignment you can send him an email.

Mr. Curry gives great feedback and is readily available to answer any questions about assignments. I love that even though I didn't physically go to his classroom, it was still as if he was here. I didn't feel like our class was neglected. Also, he's very nice!

Awesome teacher! Really easy and will help you if you have any questions. It was a little hard to understand what was wanted for projects and homework but if you had any questions you'd get an email back pretty quick. Over all 10/10 would take again defiantly for people who are not into art but need it for there degree.

Super easy fun class! Make sure to show up because the class is a fast pace class but like i said very easy assignments. He will work with you if you are behind.

Within the class we made collages and analyzed certain art work. We also worked with clay to make figures.

We do a lot of painting exercises but that will help you at the end when you are doing the project because you will use the techniques you learn. If you have any questions you should ask him because he will help you and make sure that you understand and show you.

He really enjoys what he does in the class is lots of fun. The toughest part is the analyzing our worksheets and those arent even that difficult. You do quite a bit of painting and sculpting which is fine for a art appreciation class. I really suggest this class.

He is a pretty cool art professor and he actually tries to get to know his students. No homework, mainly just art projects. The projects can be a little scary at first, if you are not much of an art person. But if you do them you will learn something for sure. He is not so harsh on grading so that's cool. He just wants you to try at least.

The workload for this class isn't that bad, it's about what you'd expect from an 8-week class (weekly homework, 3 in-class projects, 3 out-of-class projects). The only thing that might seem tedious is painting, but you won't be doing that for too long. As long as you keep up with the work and you should be able to make an A in the class

Good professor, basically just do your assignments as the best as you can and his very good at grading it.

You have short assigments every week due and you have a painting that you work on for the rest of the semester . You can actually complete all those assigments within 2 days if you sit their all day and use them because they are open online . It's pretty easy class . You don't need a book only paint and brushes.

Definetly would take this class again, helps you expand your creativity. Not a difficult course, you do not need to be picasso to take this course. Peaceful environment. Friendly teacher who will help you pass.

At first, I thought that I would not do well in this class, but it opened up a new something that made my mind think very differently about art. You are not judged and also you are graded based on your individual level. I was greatful about that aspect of this class.

Good class, you have homework every week but it is easy to do. You will be doing hands on work such as painting. Professor Curry is not a tough grader. You have to be in class so you can actually get your attendance grade though. You learn alot about artist, and how to become a better painter. Professor Curry is very open to help you with work.

I dreaded Art Appreciation, but Professor Curry has made this class more enjoyable. Instead of boring lectures we are taught the principles of art and how to use them, so we can appreciate art on a personal level.

Professor Val is the bee's knees. Tests are not written, instead are art projects. Projects will likely be related to biology- it's kind of his niche. If you take only one art class in your entire scholastic career, do yourself a favor and make it this one.

This is my second time taking art appreciation and I love this class more. No book was required or essays to do like the first one I took. This class is more of an art project class, which is a better way to appreciation art.

Enjoyed class time in general. I thought there would be mostly reading of art history. Instead, the class/homework consisted of some reading, watching documentaries and art projects, which made the class very interesting. It was better than I expected.

Absolutely fantastic teacher, I would be more than happy to continue my classes with him if I needed more or had to take art-related projects.

I took the online class, the textbook was named on campus but was not necessary at all. He provides with a PDF of all the reading you need to do. The class consists of three types of work, Art in Context worksheets, projects and Analyzing art worksheets. All of it is pretty easy, you will have to go to DMA for one of the last projects.

He really pushed in the projects. I have no background in art and now I enjoy learning about different artists.

I took Professor Vals Art class online, a flex course so it was face paced, about a month long & assignments due daily. The assignments are watching documentaries & analyzing the artist, picking art pieces from different times & analyzing them as well. We also did 3 art projects! This class was so much fun! PROFESSOR VAL IS AWESOME!!!!

I took Professor Curry on an 8 week course it was something I was not looking forward to but I really enjoyed this class. I thought art appreciation would just be studying old people but we actually did art projects that were cool and every week there is a video essay which is alright too. He's very understanding and is willing to work with you

At the beginning of one of our art projects he put calming and relaxing music while we cut the cardstock. He mentioned use this as the time to focus on your art I know you all are stressed with outside matters, like work, and life. I was like YES it actually made me appreciate art so much more, and its calming effect.

This is my best class so far I really enjoyed this.. He made us watch some films and evaluate them, if you are good in evaluating you dont have a problem and also we have to create some art designs which were fun and interesting.

val curry is very nice professor and gives you great feedback on your work. He gives out videos to watch on canopy and you write a paper over the questions he asked about them. H also requires you to go to the Dallas art museum which is actually amazing. You do two art projects and that sums it up. He is the best professor to take for art!!

Prof. Curry is beyond amazing he gives great feedback. If you are not good in art he does not judge instead he compliments your work. He does respond to all your emails. Main assignments video/ responses, Dallas Art Museum, and two art project. Calming and relaxing music as you work on your project in class.. you will not regret taking his class.

This was my second time taking art. This was the easiest and funnest art class ever. Not boring or too in depth with the history class like the previous one I had failed. Professor is very understanding of issues. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes hands on projects

I took professor Curry 8 week course, and I truly enjoyed his class. The class consists of watching films from kanopy and answering some questions. Another thing we did that I thought was fun was working on our art projects. It was all about being creative and relaxing.

When Prof. Curry starts class he gives us information for our homework and projects, he tells us when it's due and shows us how to do the work. When we work on art projects he shows support and tells us how great we did on our work. I've learned many new terms for art from the professor and have seen so much talent from my peers.

Real good teacher, the class isn't hard overall and you can easily get an "A" in this class if you show up every day and do the work. The work-load isn't hard as its a art's class so its mainly time-consuming/managing and overall theraputic with some nice music.

Prof. Curry's art class is fun and he is very laid back. The projects are very easy if you try and actually do the work & the video responses given for homework are also easy as long as you pay attention to the videos and take good notes. Overall this has been one of my favorite classes I've taken at Eastfield and you won't be disappointed with it.

I had Professor Curry for Art Appreciation it is a very good class. Classes are really chill and stress free. There is weekly homework which is pretty straightforward and some small art projects. The class is not hard as long as you have decent time management skills. Overall the class is great and would take him again.

I am glad I took the class with Professor Curry. He is helpful and encouraging. His expectations are clear, and if you put in the work, you will do well. There is a required visit to the Dallas Museum of Art, 2 big art projects given with plenty of guidance, and written assignments with a very clear outline of requirements.

Professor Curry made class very enjoyable and honestly very easy. He gives weekly homework which isn't difficult and even gives an easy to understand outline for it. There's 2 small projects throughout the course that you'll find yourself enjoying. He's a very chill guy and very helpful when you have questions. I definitely recommend taking him.

By far my easiest class this school year. Professor Curry only gives homework once a week, and gives you almost an entire week to complete it. The projects are just as easy as long as you use your time wisely. All in all, as long as you do the work, this class is an easy A.

I absolutely loved this class!! We did 3 art projects & studied powerpoints for final.

This class was really easy and paced well. The professor was caring and he would always get involved in what you were working to make sure you were making the best possible art work. Its project heavy but not necessarily stressful and have plenty of time to prepare and make a project your going to be happy about. Would recommend this class .

This class was fairly easy. The professor made sure you knew what you were doing and made the best art you can. The projects arent hard, you have plenty time and a great advice from the professor. This was a great class.

Art Appreciation 1301 is an easy class, all is needed is to show up, participate and put your best foot forward. The professor is respectful and very helpful so you can come to him for advice on your work or questions you have. There is hardly any outside of classwork but there are projects and quizzes to study and work on. Fun and creative.

Professor Curry is a very humble and helpful person. Whenever you do not understand something he makes sure to answer your questions and clear up things not only to you individually but to the entire class in case someone else might have a similar question. I really enjoyed the projects he gave since I was able to attend the DMA after a long time.

This class was really dynamic, but Professor Curry always was very kind and inspirational at the time of making our art works. He always listens and have the best position to help. Class was very productive and I have learned interesting forms about the Art.

The class itself is not difficult at all, but if you are behind on your work it does quickly pile up since there are a lot of assignments. The professor himself is very kind and cares a lot for his students. If you're taking a night class, he often lets the students leave early and checks in a lot. Attendance is a big part of the grade!
