Valerie is tight. She has some controversial views on things, but she's not afraid to express them, and I think that's awesome. You have to do some readings to identify the style she wants in her essays, but other than that, the class kicks ass.

Very nice and helpful teacher. Loves to tell lots of jokes, and is comical about her family life. VERY willing to help on essays, and has no late policy. If you go to class, and do the essays you will do great.

Valerie is easy to approach and clear on what she expects from you on each assignment. She treats you like an adult and does not dock points for turning in essays late. She allows you to correct and resubmit essays for a better grade. I definitely recommend taking her class; she is incredibly entertaining! You will learn from her class.

She is one of the nicest teachers that i've ever had. Her class is easy if you put effort into your essays. test(only two) are easy and you don't have to do the assigned readings for homework. Valerie is very helpful. She gives pretty clear instructions on how she wants the essays. I got a B on this class but that's because English is my second language and I was never interested in writing essays ever since. But if ur not like me, den getting an A should be easy.

She's a good teacher but she tends to stray off topic quite a bit. She only teaches for an hour, when class is supposed to be an hour and a half. Overall she's quite easy. Recommended.

I had for her WAC and she was so much help, my regular English teacher was not helpful and didn't explain things very well but Valerie made me understand and was completely helpful and when I found out she was teaching Engwr 301, I had to sign up.

Great teacher, very fun. Easy class, very helpful, if you're taking ENGWR 300, TAKE HER. Low workload, 1 essay/2 weeks (at least for the Friday class, meets once/week). Minimal homework, some short journals every week for a while. Exams are EASY, only midterm and final. Allows late work and resubmissions for low grades, until you get an A.

Amazing teacher that'll help you with every single assignment. Very fun and goofy, yet knows how to teach and get the point across to you using analogies and terms you know. LOVED this professor.

She is a fun professor. I took an night class and her energy kept me awake and motivated. She's always willing to help. I learned a lot and had fun even though I'm not a fan of English. She pushes students to better their writing skills. Essays and drafts are due with some journals and two exams. Late work was ok, but don't fall behind.

I absolutely loved this class. English is not my first language, but through this class I was able to discover that through hard work and dedication I can success in any field of study. Professor pushed me to reach my potential, and although I wasn't a big fan of literature, I learned to appreciate it. Teacher is super helpful and makes class fun.

Professor Connors, now Bronstein, is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the study of college composition. She is upbeat and full of life. The topics of summaries and essays relate to everyday life which allows you the ease of developing practical responses with depth and insight. She allows at least 1 rewrite on all papers except exam papers

Valerie is an amazing English Professor and all around good people. Very helpful and organized. No problems at all receiving the help you need from her. Does not stop until she is certain that you comprehend.

Valerie was amazing from day 1! She was very clear on what we needed to do and allowed a lot of group discussions and peer feedback. She put more than enough information on D2L and made the writing process exciting! As an introduction into a college writing class I very much enjoyed experiencing it with her!

Entertaining and serious about class

I am really happy I took this class with her. I learned a lot. The class is not easy. but if you attend the class meetings and do your homework on-time, there is nothing to be worry about.

Took her nigh class about a year ago. Yeah, it wasn't the easiest, but it definitely isn't impossible. She gives opportunities to make up essays, and she's funny.

Amazing professor. She is very kind and takes time to work with you if you need help. Hard not to do well in this class. Honestly, this class is very easy if you put out some effort. The homework and reading wasn't that bad. One of the better and easier classes I had to take this year. Highly recommend taking one of her English classes!

Valerie is helpful and clear with what she expects from her students. She uses D2l. Course materials and schedules are organized, and you will find helpful notes, powerpoints, and videos there. There is no need for note taking in class. She provides feedback on all your essays and gives you the chance to rewrite the first two (out of 4).

Honestly I added this class late and she was still very understanding and helped me catch up really quickly. She is very understanding and very helpful.

I look forward to class every week even though it's on Saturdays. Professor Connors is easy going and I feel comfortable talking and asking questions in and out of class.

Love, Love, Love Professor Connors. The book we used was interesting , relates to the real world, and really makes you use critical thinking skills. If you are having difficulty sign up for WAC and/or RAD. There are some quizzes but most of your grade is based off essays. Overall, Connors is great and I would take her again and again.

Last day of class & I'm scared 4 my life. Borderline grade as a product of super harsh grading. She's a sweet and funny lady but extremely tough at grading. The final is 2day and it's based off a movie that I don't even understand :( failed class, here I come. Probably gonna have 2 retake this clas because of it

So far, she is great, especially for English Majors. The essay prompts are tough, but she is more than willing to help and what essay prompts aren't tough at this level.

Amazing teacher she will work with you to help you understand and is very silly in lectures but it makes it fun. Shes really caring and I would love to take another class with her.

I took the 4 week online course and it is a lot of work, but you can tell she is cognizant of the workload she is giving you. There are discussions on the book and a couple other things almost everyday. All of the topics and readings she assigned were actually interesting. I have never liked english class, but she made it tolerable.

Excellent, down to earth teacher. I love that she is very clear in what she expects in her essay assignments. You do need to think critically, and she inspires you to do so. You work for the grade you desire. She's funny as well. Lectures are direct to the point. She's very helpful. I'd definitely recommend her!

I had Professor Valerie Connors Bronstein not just recently, but the semester before. I really appreciated her topics on which to write, and the short story's we read in class. You can tell she is devoted to her work. She also got me hooked to the show 'Vikings' make sure you also enroll in the WAC program as she suggests. They help you get an A

Took this six week online course and it was great. There were a lot of assignments due but with the everyday emails of what was due made it possible to keep up with the speed of the class. If you need a summer english writing course this is the class for you.

I'm finishing up Professor Bronstein's class right now. I enjoyed all the discussions she posted and a majority of the readings we had to do. Her feedback on essays is very clear and concise and she is quite funny in class as well. This is the first English class I've taken in a few years but she does a good job of explaining what she wants.

BEST TEACHER EVER! She makes all of the students current grades into a B (most teachers don't) and she even gives us a grading contract for if you wanted an A. For example, to get an A you have to miss no more than 4 classes. Take her class! It will be worth it! :)

Professor Valerie is a good professor and cares for her students. The class is tough but it's manageable. Professor Valerie wants her students to learn and does a great of actually teaching. She explains how to structure the essays very well. She has live zoom lectures for15 minutes or you can watch the recording of the lecture later.

Let's be real, college composition is going to have a heavy dose of writing but Professor Bronstein cares a great deal about you passing the class. She even allows all her students to get a B by default if you complete all the assignments, satisfactory. She genuinely cares about her students and chooses topics worth writing about.

Proffessor Bronstein is so amazing I mean the way she teaches has been so helpful and makes it easy to learn. She is a tough grader but is fair and is open to helping you with revisions! If you want to actually learn something in an english class, she is a great proffessor! Virtual learning is hard but with her it hasn't been bad at all

Bronstein is super super nice and she makes the class really easy to follow. As expected you will write so many papers, and the discussion posts are also like mini papers. However, if you put effort into your discussion posts like I did, most of the time they tie into the essay youre writing so I just could copy and past parts of it into my essay.

I am pretty sure that you will love this class. For entire semester you have to complete 4 essay and one midterm, one final with a optional assignment. Professor Bronstein is so amazing. the way she teaches has been helpful. A good think about her class is she has grade Contract so it depend too a student when and how u want to complete your work.

Clear and concise grading; a little confusing at first, but you will get a hang of it. All the material you will need to succeed will be provided, including notes and what not. Responds quickly to emails, so if you have an issue it will be resolved quickly. Additional work needs to be completed for an A grade, but the work itself is rather easy.

My biggest challenge was dealing with different citation methods in multiple classes. Though challenging, it provided an opportunity for growth. Professor V inspired me to stay motivated and reach out for help when needed to keep going. She is fair in her grading and gives constructive feedback. I can confirm if you stay the course it will be fine.

Valerie is such a good teacher, she genuinely cares about her students! just beware she's liberal lol. I took this class in the summer 2023, she is super easy going, very funny, there is a good amount of homework, and in class work. stay on top of your assignments and you will easily get a B

Had a rough start & missed some assignments. Referred to the grading contract when I felt like I needed to drop & I realized I could still pass the class. Prof. Bronstein wants you to learn and she wants you to pass & you'll feel it when you become engaged. Reading assignments are great, essays are a little tough but Im so glad I took the class.
