I read these reviews but chose to take the class anyways...it was really easy, granted i did all the work, attended class every time, and took all the notes...but she hands you everything you need, sometimes there are random bonus questions you will only know if you go to class and hear stories...SO GO TO CLASS!!! it was fun

Easy. All I had to do was go to class and read the book and notes. I also found that all of the thigs she taught did correlate to the tests. I would take her again.

Great teacher. She explains things very well but the tests are kinda hard & tricky. 12 labs & 4 tests & 5 participation grades. Good teacher & I would take her again :)

she is a really good teacher. she knows her information. there are only 12 labs that are all online, 4 tests, and 5 participation grades. if you go to class youll get your notes and actually do well on the test

I loved taking Mrs. King's class. She was very clear in her syllabus, and I learned a lot. It's not hard to go to class and fill in the blanks in the notes that she posted. And ALL OF THE TESTS WERE FROM THE NOTES!!! She's a lovely lady.

She's pretty difficult. Her lab quizzes are hard and over material that has nothing to do with the class. Tests are hard too. Lecture and powerpoint all class. Nice lady, but not an easy "A" by any means. Do all the labs don't just read them.

Sci 1101 is boring. Prof. King posts powerpoint slides online with blanks in them, you fill in the blanks during the lecture. The labs are an environmental propaganda regimen (surprise surprise) but are not too difficult. Overall, not a difficult course, just get the notes, do the labs and study the notes before exams and you should be fine.

She is so nice and helpful throughout the course. She only uses powerpoints and a few videos. The class gets a little boring but notes are easy and you can make an A if you study.

She is nice and helpful and means well. As long as you actually do the work (there isn't much to do) it's super easy to get a decent grade.

love her! she really helps you out; if the whole class does poorly on a test she gives extra credit, and she always drops the lowest exam grade. very easy to talk to one on one, but her lectures are kind of tedious. all the powerpoints are online, just go to class, fill in the blanks, and pay attention to the movies she shows and you'll do fine :)

Awesome teacher! She is very helpful and offers extra credit if the whole class doesn't do so great on tests. There are 4 lab sets/quizzes and 3 exams + a final. Lowest normal exam is dropped. Don't believe the low ratings here.. I thought she was a very good instructor! Tells cute stories. Very personable!

King is a great teacher! Her lectures were accompanied by a powerpoint she gives you in advanced too bring to class. She leaves few blanks in the lecture to fill in and if you miss they are easy to find in the book. Her tests are not hard and all multiple choice. She allows 1 dropped test grade and gives extra credit. Loved her class, TAKE IT!!!

Ms. King was great! She lets you drop one test grade, her powerpoints are fill in the blank, but easy to find outside of class. Go to the videos she shows in class! Very easy class, take her! I loved her class!

The most underrated Professor I have seen on this site. She gives you all the resources you need to pass this class. You just have to show up and pay attention. She does make you do the labs. Drops the lowest of 3 test grades. She is also very nice and personable.

Very easy, she is a good teacher and very knowledgeable about her field. The only set back was the size of the class; i like to get to know my teachers. She drops the lowest test grade and she gives you study guides; thus, easy.

Take her only if you are interested in pursuing Science as a major. Her tests are hard and if you don't study, you WILL fail. Unlike a lot of other science professors she makes you do all of the labs. The labs are time consuming, boring and have nothing to do with what we are learning in class.

Prof King knows this subject very well. This was a hard class for me. I attended every class and took notes. She posts a study guide which is very helpful but her tests seem to be worded differently and they do not feel like 1101 tests- they are much more detailed than I expected. She drops your lowest grade though.

I enjoyed this class, and Professor King is amazing. It is a lecture class so it does tend to get boring. Attendances are not mandatory, and the only grades are 4 tests with an optional final; however, tests are extremely detailed. I've been to class everyday and study my butt off, but have made 1 B and 2 C. Study guides are different from tests.

My only complaint is that the lectures were very boring. But honestly, she does teach what's on the test and is very helpful when answering questions. If you need to read a specific section of the book for a test, she will tell you. She's not a bad teacher, you'll just have to pay attention, like you should be doing in all of your classes.

She is the EASIEST science teacher ever!!! Test are straight from the notes! She will answer any questons you have about the material prior to the test!! Subjet matter is nothing but stuff you already learned since middle school!! I got an A with no problems

Prof. King is extremely sweet and always willing to help. I found that her tests were a bit tricky, especially with the lab questions. However, this class is definitely not impossible to pass. Not an easy A but def. an easy B.

AWESOME PROFESSOR! Go to class, DO THE LABS, and take notes seriously. She is very clear and doesn't mind explaining things until you completely understand them. Tests can be a little tricky, but if you study you'll be fine. I got a high A in the class and she is SO NICE and really into what she is teaching. I would take her again.

If you go to class and do your work you will get an A.. Little bit of studying required for A or B but nothing overwhelming. She is very nice and provides study sessions. Good option

This class is hard, There are 5 test grades but she drops the lowest one. Its not a class where you memorizes a definition and get the answer right, you have to completely understand it and be able to apply it on the test. You need to read the book and you have to take the notes or you will fail this class. Lab work is proven on the test.

If you come to class, take notes, read the book (short-assigned pages), do the labs, and STUDY, you will do very well.That's college.Five exams and lowest exam dropped.Labs are not due but are comprehensive on the exam.A lot of people come to class on exam days and this kills your grade in any class.Answers any questions before each exam.

BUY THE BOOK, ATTEND CLASS, and DO THE LABS. She was extremely helpful in providing study guides and online study sessions before exams. You can ask her anything regarding the tests and she will help. She wants people to succeed, but it is up to them to do the work. Quit complaining, this is college!

Prof. King is extremely helpful. She gives study guides for each test and has a online chat session where you can ask questions before the test. She also gives 5 tests with the highest 4 grades counting. Class was interesting too, she is lively. I thought this class was easy, but unlike most people I attended class and studied her study guides.

If you go to class and read the book you will get a B with minimal work, tests are only difficult if you like to skip class. I definitely recommend her! She also puts extra credit questions on every test.

Professor King is very nice. Attendance is optional. Gives you power points to follow along with- makes it easy to take notes. Four exams and a final, drops the lowest test grade. Good teacher, would take her again for 1102 if she was offered!

she is fine but her quiz and test is most form the note and stupid question from what she said in the class. like what she said about her incident when her fridge was out of power. Never miss a class or you can not make it up.

Professor King is a nice lady. However, I found her tests to often be very confusing in the way that the questions were worded. The lab questions in particular are a bit random as well. Science is not my favorite subject and this class didn't help increase my interest in the subject.

Excellent teacher! Used a wonderful example of exponential growth in an r-selected species by telling us about a personal experience she had when her own fridge lost power during a holiday. Also, INFINITELY patient with students who asked the same dumb questions over and over and OVER again.

4 tests, you can exempt the final if you like your grade. I studied SO hard for all the tests and always made C's; had a 4.0 until this class

Ms. King is a great instructor! She gives note outlines, and if you show up for class, complete the outlines and do the study guide, you will make an A! She is very interesting and shows a lot of movies and objects to help you understand what she is talking about!

Mrs. King is great! Yeah her tests aren't EXACTLY like the study guide BUT she is super helpful and isn't a stickler about texting, laptops, or talking in class. She is super sweet and will not hesitate to help if asked. Online assignments are a piece of cake and she gives you a long time to get them finished. I would recommend her to anyone!

1101 course- weekly online homework, easy. Labs are all things that you do on the computer or print out and do. They are not for a grade, but she'll always incorporate questions about them into the test. In class she reads her Powerpoints in class. Tests are easy if you read the material in the text, on the labs, and on the online homework.

TAKE HER! She explains things thoroughly and clearly, and she puts powerpoints and videos seen in class on Vista. Questions from labs are on the tests, otherwise the labs aren't used. She handles a class of 200 very well! Totally recommend!

She makes this class very easy to do well in. As long as you come to class, take notes, read the book, and do the labs. Notes are taken from power-points that are given to you online with fill in the blanks. It sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. She isn't the most exciting teacher, but she is very interactive and helpful. I would recommend her!

Valerie King is awesome! if you do what you're suppose to do (such as doing labs, reading book and taking notes)you'll do great.LABS ARE 10-12% OF TEST so don't play around with them,it can drop an entire letter grade on your exam. she loves her job and makes it interesting, plus she gives extra credit.how good does it get?

Easy A if u do the labs 10 quest from those on tests. Read the bk its not long some ex will be on tests from the bk. Come 2 class most of the ex she gives will be on the tests.Record lectures if u need to.Extra credit quest on tests. Yes this class is hard, and yes you will have to put a lot of effort into it, but she is so helpful and gives so many extra credit opportunities there is no way you shouldn't at least make a B. I made a B with minimal effort, wish I tried harder, could've made an A. She is a great professor, provides study guide and materials necessary to succeed.

This class is not hard I got a B. we had 4 test and a final lowest test dropped. Multiple choice exams. If you go to class and study power points you will do fine. She post everything she goes over and videos too. This class is common sense if you ever took any kind of science.

She is a great professor for an upper level course. If you want to make a decent grade, you must attend every lecture and take notes. Her test questions come from the notes and the labs, and rarely from the book. I liked her and she is great, but very, very challenging.

Professor King has power points that you must fill in the blanks when you bring them to class, but the class is not hard overall. She has 4 tests and will drop the lowest test grade with the final. You will have a mastering assignment to do about every week. She is very invested in the subject and fair to her students.

This class was super easy. You don't need to buy the textbook, you will never use it. Online HW once a week, which gives you a brief activity to do then answer questions on it. Lectures can seem long. PowerPoints have missing parts, your reward to going to class is getting those blanks. Labs are not graded, but on test. Easy test, gives study guide

Prof. King is a very good teacher. She's kind, funny, and has a great way of explaining things. If you don't understand a concept, she'll work with you until you get it. The tests aren't too bad, but you have to study to make an A in this class. Lectures are interesting. Attend class to make sure you have all the notes. Would recommend!

I did not like her... She made her tests pretty difficult considering that she gave a study guide that covered only 30% of the test. Her lectures were really boring and you have to fill in her powerpoints. I used the textbook to study for the tests. Weekly hw is a must, don't skip or it will hurt you. Labs are really really easy and big on exams.

Even though she doesn't make you come to class, go. She is great at explaining these scientific concepts even to the non-science minded. Also, she can be really funny in class.

Dr. King was a pretty good professor. Her lectures are interesting, not too much howework. Make sure you complete the MES assignments and study before exams, and you will pass!

Professor King is one of the best science professors around. She gives PPTs with blanks so you have to go to class to fill them in. She's there to help you. She does chats before tests on D2L so if you have any questions she'll answer them. Her tests get tough but they're definitely manageable. Don't have to take final if happy with your grade.

This class was incredibly easy in my opinion. Her powerpoints are fill in the blank, and then her study guides are basically the powerpoints but in a different format. She shows lots of videos to break up lectures, offers extra credit, and the tests are literally definition based. I have no idea how people failed this class.

Goes over the tests in class and makes sure you understand why you got the question wrong. Does assign homework and it comes straight from the notes, I always get good grades on the homework, so that helps your grade.

Dr. King makes science so simple! She is by far one of the best professors I have ever taken! She works with her students if you need help with anything and is always available when you need her to be (schedule permitting). Attendance isn't mandatory, but trust me when I say if you make it a habit of skipping class, you will fall behind.

The class has 200 students, yet I can tell she cares when I need help. Come to class, prepare well for the tests, and you'll succeed. Definitely take her!

Awesome teacher! As long as you actually go and pay attention in class, do the weekly online assignment, the study guide, and actually study for a little while you should be fine. She tries to make the information as simple as possible, and is always willing to explain and help if you don't understand something.

5 Tests, drops lowest grade + online HW. Funny lady, loves science, but for her tests study EVERYTHING she gives you, from the labs to the videos in class. DON'T waste time reading the book for the test unless she says. Her PP's are fill in the blank so come to class. Online assignments - search for answers in google.

I really enjoyed this class. Prof. King did a great job at making the material understandable and relevant. 4 exams + final. She drops the lowest exam and if you are satisfied with your grade after 4th exam you don't have to take the final. There is online homework as well as opportunities for extra credit. I WOULD DEFINITELY take her again.

Not too difficult if you just do the work. She provides opportunities for extra credit. She has an amazing personality and loves the material. It is preferred that you attend class, but she doesn't take attendance. You can easily get the notes from a friend. The homework is really easy and the labs are not graded, but you should do them anyway.

She is so passionate about environmental science and I would recommend her to absolutely anyone. Go to the SI sessions and study your notes and you'll be just fine!

I dislike science and she actually made it easier to grasp. Would have done better if I had put a little more effort at the beginning of the semester. Love her class. Wish I could take her for the second part.

Mrs. King was amazing. She gives you every chance to make a good grade. I got a 68 on every test and with the homework and extra credit, I passed with no problem. The class is just annoying. I hate science and I found the tests to be extremely difficult, but Mrs. King was beyond helpful. Definitely take her!

King is spa very sweet & intelligent woman, however, she shouldnt be teaching an intro class. My friend took her & failed then took the other prof & made excellent grades. The material sent hard. Whats hard is the way she words questions. The bright side is that I failed every single test, but she curved like heck so I ended with a B.

This class was HARD, but I'm really glad I took it. I got the sense that she was used to teaching more advanced classes, but she explained everything in a way that I could understand it. The class was a lot of work, but I learned a heck of a lot. If you really like science but aren't a STEM major and just need a gen ed, I highly recommend her!
