Very helpful and willing to do everything she can to get a student to pass with a good grasp of the material. She said as much in the first class, and I was doubtful. I've never been so glad to be proven wrong. A great prof to have and a very nice woman.

she is an amazing person and a excellent communicator. she was very willing to give up her own time to make sure everyone had a good grasp of the concepts.

She was an amazing teacher, she was always willing to stay behind after class to go over things that you may not have understood, gave out reviews for the two midterms as well as the final, and the tutorials were helpful.She even walked around the gym before we wrote the final to see if there were any last minute questions she could answer for us.

I hate chemistry and i suck at it, but if you cant get a good mark in engineering chem with val you are in the wrong faculty!! labs were so easy if you can use a calculator you're set!

She is extremely helpful and cares about the students in here classes.

Really cool lady, Enjoyed her teacher a lot. Clear, precise, funny, "hip". Basically told us a few answers off the final last semester. Val makes chemistry do-able by anyone.

Val is an awesome prof! She is a great person, and sincerly cares about her students. If you're having trouble shes great to go to help for, and she actually wants to take the time to help you!Her lectures are great and clearly explained.

Really cares. Asked me how my day was going once in passing. Then dropped everything to talk to me when I said it was going poorly. Nearly cried when we all did poorly on one of her midterms. Gives 6-8 2 hour tutorials before the exam in which she goes over all possible exam-type questions.

Val is the prof I compare everyone else to when I fill out prof evaluation forms. She cares about her students and will bend over backwards to help you. Her tests and exams are pretty long, but fair, and there are always a TON of tutorials before them. If anyone fails chem with Val, it's their own fault for not putting in enough effort.

Val is an awesome prof.She really caring. She wants all of her students to do good in her course. Tutorials are very good, go to them! If you ever have any questions ask, ask her she will help you till you understand. Val is one of the best profs ive had, shes awesome!!=)

How the heck does she remember 300 names?? She'll know you and your 200 some peers by the first month! She is beyond helpful and cares deeply for her students. I had a cruddy test mark and she knew I could do better so she tossed it. Overall I was EXTREMELY impressed by her :) I reccomend her highly

Val is the best prof ever, I compare everyone else to her lol, I had no interest in chemistry and frankly was scared of it, after taking it with her I even thought about a chem degree. And she has an amazing memory- she will know you and everyone else in no time!

She's the best. Tests were easy if you study a bit and keep up with the class. No one explains things better than Val. Most helpful prof at UNB. She is more dedicated to her student's success than most of the students themselves!

The worst thing I could ever say about Val is that every prof after her will pale in comparison. She CARES, oh my God, so much. Dedicates SO much of her time to her students and is ALWAYS understanding, helpful, and crystal clear in lectures. She is a very easy marker and tells lovely stories in class. If you can possibly take her, DO IT!

PHENOMENIALLL!!! I dont think you will ever find someone who can say a bad word about Val even if they have failed her class. (because no one should fail her class). You will not find another proessor anywhere who cares as much and is as helpful as her. she will go th extra mile for any of her students and pus her heart and soul into teaching.

She is not your friend, even though she is very friendly. I would recommend her to any student, especially anyone who is nervous about chemistry!

Val is the biggest sweetheart. Even though her class is huge she knows almost everyones name by second week. She's always willing to help you and is super understanding if you're sickcan't make it. Plus you can rework her tests to get a better grade.

Very approachable, brought a sense of excitement to each of her lectures, and marked fairly. Even made a notable effort of remembering names, in a class of 100+. Made quite the impression on me when I was a nervous first-year student. Definitely wish I could've taken more classes with her!

Val honestly makes those 8:30 classes bearable and chemistry labs a lot of fun. Although I am horrible at chemistry, she at least made it interesting and was always very approachable at tutorials. She's probably the only person I've ever met who was that nice at 8:00am. She'll even say hi if you both enter lecture hall at similar times.

The sweetest person you will ever meet and tries her absolute best to make sure everyone does great in her class and in the lab. She'll say hi to you if she sees you around and in general inspires you to be interested in her course. If I could rate her higher than a 100% I would.

The textbook is useless as Val covers all material well in class and the slides are condensed from the textbook/more effective. However, the OWL which comes with the textbook is great! She offers extra credit opportunities and is VERY understanding. She will work in your favour and do whatever she can to help you succeed.

Val is an amazing person and amazing proffessor. She explains difficult concepts in a way that everybody can understand and master the concepts seen in class. She is always available to help outside of the classroom and takes the time to call everyone by name. If you show up to class and do the assignments you will end up with a great mark.

The material is tough (or so I found it, but if you are a Chem whiz you'll get an A+)! As long as you make an effort you will succeed in her course. Easily the most kind-hearted, genuine, and passionate professor I have ever come in contact with. Chemistry is such a touch and scary subject to lots of people (myself included), but she some how finds spectacular ways for you to fall in love with it. Val is also SO easy to talk to! In all, I am so happy to have experienced her teachings myself.

Val (or Dr. Reeves, depending on what you prefer) is the perfect first-year prof. She is easy to approach and talk to, she loves to laugh in her class while teaching, and she does everything she can to make your life easier, offering plenty of chances for extra credit and bonus marks.

Valerie Reeves is one of the most amazing professors you could hope to have. she gives as many opportunities for bonus marks, and she is a super advocate for mental health. Dr. Valerie Reeves is one of the very few reasons i decided to continue being a student. she tells some really corny jokes, and keeps lectures light and interesting. Total QUEEN

The best Professor ever

Val is the best professor in UNB in my opinion. She motivates her students to do well, she is never scared to provide the extra support that her students need to succeed. She allows you to fix mistakes. All she needs from you, is effort and to try. First thing you should do when you meet her, is go up and say your name. She will remember it!

Offers lots of extra help, cares about her students and encourages them, along with making them feel safe. She wants her students to pass and is always fitting in time to offer help to those who need it.

Valeria Reeves. Please take ANY of her courses if you can. Even if you are not a chemistry student please take one of her courses because if you do you will understand what a good professor should be. WARNING: no other prof can compare. She truly cares and makes an effort to walk up to you outside of class if you introduce yourself to her.

I'm an upper year bio major but Val's chem lecture was still the best course I've ever taken at UNB. She makes it worth it to be there at 830am. Lovely person, amazing teacher, super accessible, great feedback, no surprises on midterms, takes you through difficult concepts step by step. One of the best profs I've ever had hands down.

Val is truly a gem at UNB. She takes the time to get to know students by name, is extremely approachable, and very knowledgable. Exams are fair, and she is specific about what material is on them. Hand picks textbook questions, and makes practice tests. Honestly, her class was something I looked forward to.

Val was a great prof and set me up really well for future chem courses. I had her for Chem 1001, 1012 & 1017 and she was awesome in all of them. If you attend class & do the work you are guaranteed a good grade/will do good on tests. ALSO if you attend PAL you will notice a big grade increase as there are similar questions to the ones on the tests.

Amazing professor! She really wants you to succeed in the course, giving extra credit assignments and is doing what is best for you. She is the sweetest human being and one of my favorite profs I've ever had.

Throughout the course, I did okay, but not where I wanted to be sitting. I did study prior to tests with Mastering and textbook questions. I had average grades. However, I pulled through on the final, giving me an A+. I highly recommend doing the textbook and assigned questions she has made, as well as office hours and her reviews. Wonderful Prof!

Val is dedicated, awesome, caring and so many more words. Val had a kidney stone in the middle of a semester and missed ONE class, she limped in lectures and labs but still did not stop. She is dedicated, loves her students, so well organized, and an incredible teacher. I which she taught upper year courses and I hope she ends up doing so.

Val made my first experience with university-level chemistry AMAZING. She makes an obvious effort to ensure everyone has resources and means to get help if they're lost, and is very understanding. Grading schemes are awesome.

Val is probably one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of having. She takes the time to know people and what they're like. I was lucky to have her both semesters, so this review is for CHEM 1001, 1012, and 1017. She is a wonderful person, teaches very well, and you can tell she enjoys it. She is very accessible for anything.

What a great first impression to my college years! Their lectures were very engaging and you can tell they love what they are doing. I didn't have to reach out to her that much but she seemed easy to reach and to and very helpful. She definitely deserves the 100+ 5.0 ratings. :)

Val is not only the best professor ever but the best person to have ever walked this earth. I had her for two semesters of CHEM lectures and one lab and she is just amazing. val is the BEST professor you will have. she truly cares for each and every one of her students. she prints out periodic tables before each test for everyone to make a cheat sheet to use on the test (including the final exam). i 100% recommend taking any of val's classes if you have the chance.
