When I came into Prof. Saad's class, I thought I knew poetry and writing. I was so wrong. I could spend years learning from her. I became a better writer by 100 fold. Take any of her classes!! It will be one of the best decisions anyone could make.

Ms. Saad tries for all students to pass w/an A+! Always available to help. Fun teacher. All students in my ENC1101 class enrolled for her ENC1102 class because they enjoyed her so much. She is a wonderful professor. Great optimistic personality.

She's a tough teacher, but I learned a lot about my strengths and weaknesses in her class. I would recommend you take her because she'll make you a better writer.

I reg. for someone else and to my suprize, Ms. Sadd took the place of the teacher I signed up for. At first Ms. Sadd seemed to be very hard, but as time went on I realized that she was there to REALLY TEACH. I enjoyed her class,she is a beautiful person.

She is extremely helpful. although she seems tough, she really cares about helping you develop.

Seemed hard at first, but is a great teacher. Even gives you sample essays that previous students wrote so you can get an idea on how to write your own essay. Great teacher, doesn't fail you if she doesn't like your paper topic, that's a HUGE LIE!!!

I think that she is Awesome. If you came to class everyday you did fine. She makes you think outside of "The box". I was very enlightened by her and appreciated her sense of humor. It's great when you can laugh early in the morning. Good Teacher!!!!! :)

This professor is interesting. She works with you as long as you are attentive in class. She really tries to mold the rough works you have. She honestly tries to make you better. Oh, she has a thing for the "red wheelberrow" poem.

Amazing... she really makes you think. We are in College to learn, well most of us. She is one of the few professors here at HCC that really cares if you understand. She pushes you to think logically and thoroughly. One day, for those of you that disagree, will realize what she really has taught you when you least expect it.

Amazing teacher! Having a great amount of knowledge and experience, dedication to her job, and huge passion for literature distinguishes her from other professors. She is a truly unique person with a great individuality and a good sense of humor. And above all this, she can be an example to follow.

I loved Mrs. Saad. She is very thorough in explaining papers and she truly tries to help her students out! If you are dedicated she is a great professor.

She's awesome. Made you think outside of the box. I would recommend her. I never used to like writing papers but with the proper help I actually enjoyed writing toward the end of the class. If you have a chance to take one of her classes do it! She might be a bit much for some, but if you seem interested and put forth the effort she will help!

She's a good teacher. She's a little hard on those who don't seem to care. She grades on improvement, not the average of all your papers.

i like her alot her tests R everything u read n what she lectured exactly if u don't like reading dont take the class (obviously). she makes u take home 2 essay questions to answer 4 every test and a short answer in class portion. the only homework u get is the reading and most of the time its short alot of people dropped the class toward the end

She remains to be quite possibly the best teacher I have ever had. She is a truly gifted and inspirational person. If you have a passion for literature, you will enjoy her.

I love her! at first i was not sure about the class bc i thought she would be HARD! but she ended up beng so cool. i had pretty much 0 HW and 0 Reading to do. we only had papers which were fun to do. She's a great teacher and was great help!

I was overloaded last semester and dropped too late so I just failed, but she has a great personality, surprising character, funny, loves her work, cares about her students, likes to play video games (blew my mind).Great overall, just make sure that you are prepared to handle the work, and to make time for it.

Although she is funny with her jokes, she is VERY strict. She does not show it in class but on the papers its literally a slaughter house. I thought i was good in English until i took this class, i highly regret not dropping out. On the papers you have to write "her way" or else she WILL crucify you, Writing Center and Smarkthinking did not help.

Ms. Saad is a great teacher. As long as you fulfill her requirements for her papers, you will get As and Bs. Proofreads your rough drafts before your final paper is due so you can correct it and get an even better grade! Most of the kids who did bad in my class were incoming freshmen who are most likely shocked at the college workload.

She was a good teacher as long as you were on her good side. Just be sure to follow her rubric for the papers and you will do fine.

She is awesome! I have always been awful at writing essays or trying to understand poetry. But she helped a alot is is very patient!

Be on time, pay attention, get things done. Go to the writing coms and you will get an A. She is fair and lenient,but this is not for slackers.

She is a very good teacher, and very clear about her expectations. She is not at all tolerant of late assignments, but all in all does a good job. I would recommend her.

I had her for English 1 and recieved a B. I thought she was super easy but kind of rude. She constantly ignored my questions or responded in a tone that made me feel inferior. When I took her for English 2 it was a completely different teacher. SHE WAS SO HARD. I had to drop the class immediatly. She expects too much in too short of time.

I took her about two years ago and this lady was so incrediblyt nice to me. She gave me so much leeway when it came to turning in assighments and I still got an I. I loved her class and I really did learn a lot from her. I would recommend her simply because her assighnments and tests were so clear.

I don't know about the other comments, but she is actually my favorite teacher. I graduated from HCC about 3 years ago and now a RN. Basically, I enjoyed her classes and was contemplating sending her a thank you gift.

Professor Saad inspired me as a young writer and not as bad as some would lead you to believe! My advice is to pay attention, NEVER write any less - when she says 5 pages, she means 5 FULL PAGES or else it counts as incomplete, visit her during office hours if you don't understand something! ENG II is hard naturally, but I had fun!

Honestly, Saad needs to be teaching at University of Tampa. She knows what she is talking about and expects a lot out of her students. However, she has a degree and it's only natural for her to become frustrated with community college students that honestly believe she isn't worth listening to. Take her class if you want to learn to write!

Prof Saad was difficult, but so worth it. She is picky and does make students re-do papers if they are incorrect...but at least we got another chance to improve. If you stick with her, you will see she cares greatly for her willing students and will help if you want to learn. I am glad I got a chance to have her!

She is really nice and DOES help you, although class was a little boring sometimes. It was not a hard class at all, I got A's on every essay, and she reviews your paper for you and gives you chances to improve. Honestly, if you fail her class, it's entirely your fault. She knows what she's doing, and I learned a lot from her class.

The class can seem to drag on a little, but hey it's a literature class. The work isn't hard, as long as you keep up with the reading you will be fine. I got an A on everything. She is very helpful and nice. I learned a lot from her this semester and would love to take more classes with her. If you fail, its your fault, kind of an easy A.

Extremely wonderful professor. SUPER helpful, and she gives you the chance to improve your grade every essay, as well as provides feedback as to how. Class can get a little boring, but it's grammar haha. Definitely recommend her!

Ms. Saad is a wonderful teacher! Yes, she is difficult, but if you listen to her and do what she requires for the essay and outlines you'll do great! She gives no tests or quizzes so that means no final exam either!

She was a strict teacher but i learned a lot from her and received an A on every paper, we only had 3. You use the book a lot and the manual she requires helps tremendously. If you need help, ask her! Be in class on time and every class you need to be there or she will count it against you. Great Teacher!

Great teacher if you give 100% to class and ask question.

You do what she tells you, you pass with flying colors. You don't, you fail. As easy as that. The choice is yours. 3 essays and one research paper. Not the best at what she does, but not the worst either. I recommend her.

She was a pretty good professor. Make sure you read the material because she like class feedback. 3-4 exams with a paper for every exam, no cumulative final

Ms. Saad is strict, especially about phones. Do the readings and go to class and you'll be fine. You'll have a chance to correct your first essay; if you bring the others to her during office hours, she will look over and mark them so you can get a better grade. If I wasn't weird about having the same professor twice, I'd take her for 1102.

She taught me how to organize my thoughts and argue in paper: skills I still use today at 30 in nursing.

Growing up I hated writing, but Ms. Saad helped me enjoy it a little more. She's goofy, but made the class laugh. She always helped on essays if needed help and gave good feedback on an essay. I am taking her again for 1102 and I am hopeful for the class.

She is a bit quirky. She seems to care if you are doing your best. She tries to help students learn and understand.

I'll be honest here, I wasn't too sure I liked this professor when I began attending her ENC1101 class, but as time went by and as you get to know her better she is not what she seems. she is a tough grader, not going to lie BUT that's because she also helps A LOT in the preparation for essays. She helps in each step of the essay process

She is a fast but great teacher who expects COLLEGE LEVEL WORK. If you are not capable of producing college level work, then you should not be in this class.

She is Tough, but you WILL LEARN! I may have not received the grade I wanted too but, I learned a lot from her. She made me see writing differently and I strongly recommend if you want to become a better writer.

Tough grader. Tough on due dates. No personality. Only laughs at her own jokes. Political. However, I'd still take one of her classes again, but solely because I learned a lot.

I never liked writing, and English is not my first language. But when I got into Ms. Saad's class, I knew from the beginning that I'd have to work hard. And I did! She expects college level writing, and people who complain about it on here are just lazy. I worked hard and got 99 for this class. She also helped me improve my grammar significantly.

Professor Saad is a phenomenal English teacher. Her class is comprised of mostly essays, and she gives excellent feedback on what she expects each essay to look like. As long as you participate in class and follow instruction there is absolutely no reason not to be able to pass her class.

She has a reputation of being one of the toughest graders and being strict but will still make sure you get the grade you want as long as you put in maximum effort. This isn't a class you can skip and expect an A. She actually makes jokes that make the class a little more enjoyable.

It is painfully obvious that some of the commentators are unable to follow simple instructions, as that is almost everything that you are asked to do in this class. Some people went to class w/o pencils and books; do not tell me that you are serious about wanting to pass bringing nothing but yourself to class. Quit complaining; she is good.

Reading these comments is super sad when Prof Saad is literally the best! People complain about the assignments but its literally 5 Essays in the span of ONE semester in an English class so like?? Of course youre gonna have to show up & write essays. She lets you be as creative as you want & doesnt put you in a box like most professors! 10/10

I took ENC-1001 as a lecture course. Professor Saad clearly identifies what is expected in the course. She assigns 5 essays that are due throughout the semester. This class in not for the incompetent. Learn how to write in MLA format if you don't know. I consider myself a strong writer. Her grading may be tough, but it makes you a better writer.

Professor Saad is a great teacher. I had her for my first semester ,and she gave really good feedback on the essays and let you write about whatever you wanted making the course more enjoyable. My only pet peeve was if I had a question that needed to be answered right there she would just move on until the end of class.

Professor Saad is a great professor. She graded essays very quickly and her feedback is very helpful. She allowed us to pick our own topics as long as it fits into the type of essay that we're writing. She relates topics and examples to current events which makes certain concepts easier to understand.

Professor Saad is very professional and well prepared at each class. She takes the time to review assignments and writes corrections individually to help improvement. She combined and applied Text book work with essays. She was also very clear from the beginning of the class what she was going to consider for final grade. I learned a lot. Thanks

Professor Saad is a very professional Professor and very well prepared in each one of her classes. It was wonderful to have her as my English professor. I learned a lot how to express my thoughts and ideas through out the four essays we wrote in her class. She takes the time to write comments and words of encouragement to improve our work.

Professor Saad is organized and well prepared for each class. She challenges her students to give their best effort. She is always available for revisions and advice and give enough time for the assignments. Her class is creative and thought-provoking and students have a variety of topics to choose for the essays.

If you are not up to doing whatever it takes to get a good grade like discussing your paper with her, or doing office hours, this is not for You. I, myself is not the best writer, so It was challenging for me to just get a good grade on a paper. I had to correct, correct, and re due, to just get a better grade. But, she is a very nice teacher.

Professor Saad was amazing. She's open to talking and stayed past class time several times to speak with students. Grading was done in a timely manner and she was on time 2 class always. Be open to criticism on writing because it's an English class. She genuinely wants to help students improve and I'm thankful to her for that. Highly recommend her.

It is quite ironic that nearly all of the negative reviews are poorly written and full of grammatical errors. Lol. She is a brilliant professor. This class should not be difficult, and if you find it to be difficult, perhaps college is not for you.

This professor is one of the best I've had at HCC. The class has many assignments, but they aren't hard. They help you learn about HCC, understand how college works, and plan your goals. Most of the students who complain are probably the ones who didn't do their homework. She's patient, fair, and always answers questions. I totally recommend her 🩷
