HAD HER FOR SPEECH CLASS, SHE IS A TOUGH PROFESSOR, BUT IF U WORK UR WAY THROUGH U WILL GET A GOOD GRADE. SHE GIVES U POINTS FOR TRYING. SHE BRINGS OUT THE PERSON IN U. I RECOMMEND HER. I LEARNED ALOT FROM THE SPEECH CLASS. I THINK IF SHE IS TOUGH SHE IS GIVING U A STAND. IT WAS NOT BAD AFTERALL. THE EASIER THE PROF. U LEARN NOTHING.RECOMMEND HER!!

Prof. Small can be intimidating, she is stern, and she will critic your work throughly, but she explains everything. She expects you to follow her rules and if you do you can pass with a A, or B+. You have to read and study. She gives you extra points, she hints at certain things, catch on and you will be fine.

Excellent Teacher, Highly recommended. Took her in the summer. Hard but fair. Prof Small teaches you real issues. No playing around with her. she prepares you for the real world. If your shy she'll break you out of it.

She is a strict prof i was told and its true but I actually got a good grade in her class, I was even shocked.lol.Just follow her directions, and outlines of your speeches and read txtbk.

Interesting class. Prof. Small demands excellence. Don't procrastinate, put your best foot forward, make sure you are present for all presentations and most importantly don't compare yourself to others. Do your best and utilize the evaluation forms as a tool to improve your weak spots. I got an A.

Prof Small strives for excellence, college is not elementary School, she does not encourage time wasting, she likes perfection. Do your work , prepare and you will be fine.

A great speech professor! Demanding but only because she teaches her class on a 4-year-college level. Exams are fair and based on the readings. Put forth the effort and you'll do well in her class.

Professor Small is amazing! She sets the bar very high, but gives you all the tools you need to meet her standards-a good textbook, a good syllabus, and a folder full of the semester's assignments!!! It can't get much clearer. With her, its all about doing the work.

Week by week I saw my fellow classmates improve their ability to give a public speech. As for myself, an older student, who say's you can't teach an old dog new tricks? The class was challenging and my efforts were rewarded in the end. The skills learned in this class will help you in all areas of communication.

This professor is very sharp, many will feel intimidated. But if you listen, pay attention, do the required work, you will succeed in this class. If you are looking for an easy A, this professor is not for you. I experienced personal growth and will forever be grateful to have had Professor Small as a teacher.

This prof is not easy but I don't see her class as hard either I think you truly get out whatever you put in.I thought she was fair and professional.

She is the best Professor teaching in a Two year institution. Her lessons will carry you into getting a four year degree. She will make you work, more than most two year professors, but she will whip you into shape. If you're looking for an easy way out DON'T GO TO COLLEGE.

If public speaking is a fear of yours the last thing you should do is have Professor Smalls as a professor. She is extremely rude and much more likely to tear you down than build you up. The class is easy,(if you work hard) you know exactly what is expected of you. It's all on the syllabus. But she has zero-tolerance for stage fright.

She is an amazing lecturer.. If you are looking for an easy grader not her!!! She wants things her way and no exceptions.. If you get a good grade in her class U should feel like you hit lotto

I take her speech 100 -section 1216 and I find her class fun and full of very good informative skills that we need as we mature in age. She's hilarious and has fun with the class though her jokes may be constructive criticism taken wrong, that's an issue of your self esteem she's not there to cater to your emotions but help you.

This professor is honestly one of the best professors to have for speech class because she explains everything and she offers a lot of help so its a must that you have to pass. Just do all your speeches on time and participate and you will be fine.

She is honestly an amazing professor. she is very intimidating so be prepared for that. If you are quiet she will pick on you to speak a lot. She will help you learn to be a better speaker.

if you really are interested in public speech and you really want to learn something, definitely take her, but if you just want to pass the course, choose somebody else.

If you don't do well with public speaking I would not choose her, she's a hard worker and I love her lectures, you will learn a lot. But as far as trying to get an A?Must be prepared 101% of the time.

Sure Prof Small is tough, but she is there for her students. Participation does matter. She does give a lot of homework, but that is to straighten you up. Pay attention in her class, do your work and you'll have an easy A. She makes you work for your grade,so lazy people don't bother if you won't put in the effort. I would definitely take her again

She is tough, but amazing. You respect her, she will respect you. We are polar opposites but she answered every question I had and never disrepected my opinion because I showed her I was listening to her and respecting where she comes from. I love this professor. If you are oversensitive don't take her. She will break you down and build you up.

Hardest class i have taken ever! I took a summer class! 5 weeks of torture!! We had 6 presentations in these 5 weeks, professional attire for 5 of them, outlines are extremely demanding & bibliography's! Also practice every talk! Very strict with time! I'm really shy so it was very hard! but she's a great professor, very respectful and admirable!

Professor Small is a real gem. I took her for my summer course and she makes the class interesting with her upbeat, funny comments. She makes sure everyone participates. Sure, she gives a lot of work with very specific instructions, but she is more than willing to answer your questions and offers extra credit. Just do your work and you'll be fine.

Where do I begin. Professor. At first I wasn't going to take her because of the comments I observed on this site. However, After taking a chance and finally taking her class, It was one of the best choices I could have ever taken. Prof. Small has a strong personality, she's fun, hilarious, wild and is very wise. I took her for the 3 week winter course and I learned a lot in such a short period of time. She makes you work for your grade, there's lots of homework and speeches but just do it and do it right and you'll get a good grade. She almost never gives A's though.

Professor Smalls was intimidating at first but she is a sweet, funny, caring, charming professor who is fair and means well towards her students. She has a way with words that allows us to relate and really understand what she wants from us. A lot of people aren't witty enough to understand her humor but I did and I enjoyed every minute of class.

She may seem intimidating at first, but honestly isn't as bad as you'd expect. Is a tough grader, especially with the first speech, but don't be alarmed if you receive a bad grade I got a D on the first one and still passed. As long as there's improvement you'll be ok. She is very entertaining... very interesting, you won't fall asleep in class.

shes a great professor. she may seem like a person who is harsh but totally the opposite she makes sure she is very precise on things she lectures about and as well as very understanding to students on outside problems and always finds a way to make things better,one of the professors that changed my life and honestly this class is too easy to fail

Professor small is oneof my favorite tecahers i have taken at BMCC. She may come off at first as one of those teacher who will give you a hard time but she's not. She pushes you to do yur best in her class and always give good feedback. She expects her students to be at the top, to be their best. Totally worth taking

This professor prefers to be called either Professor Small or Dr. Small. Her class is a balance of serious work and fun times. Show up, do the work, participate, read the textbook, do the group work, and you will get good grades. This class was fun because Professor Small had such enthusiasm every time we had class. The students also made it fun.

dr small is wonderful. just communicate with her. do the work and participate. she grades fairly but will also provide honest feedback . she makes herself available when help is needed. group projects and assignments are also an option in her com255 class..
