Absolutely blew my mind with the material in this class, and yet Professor Young laid out this material whilst expressing passion and depth of knowledge of General Psychology. She is fair and helpful if you attend class and most importantly PARTICIPATE!

Professor Young is incredible. You can tell she cares about psychology in every way. Her lectures are well though out and she uses her experience to help make things easier to understand. You do have to make sure to read the chapter to help make the tests and quizzes easier, but if you look back, the answers were right there in the book.

I've taken 5 classes with Professor Young and each one is better than the one before. She really gets into what she teaches and has a lot of expertise. Do read or the final can be a doozy if you don't. She definitely makes the class worth going to and i already know that some classmates have changed their majors to psychology because of her!!

Her classes at the school are way easier than her online classes. She is a very knowledgeable teacher, and her lectures are always interesting. You must read the textbook for the tests. I enjoy her class very much. I just wish she posted grades online so we were better informed.

This class is great. Prof. Young is a spectacular professor! You definitely learn a lot in this class and the lectures are rather interesting. You really see development in a new light. DO take her if you get the chance. All of her classes seem to fill up pretty quickly and worth it. Not too much work but do read the chapters and participate.

Awesome teacher!!!!! Took her for psych lifespan growth &development. She explains topics thoroughly,all on test is covered n lecture & clear grading criteria so u know what is expected of u (some teachers dont do this believe it or not) and if you read the text & show up to interesting lectures as well u just might make a good grade

Human sexuality. Great Professor. positive and informative. Topics were interesting and open for discussions. We had like 3 test and a group project which was fun to do. I definitely advise reading, test are a mix of lecture and textbooks. If you really want to learn, you should take her! She has clinical experience which really shows in lectures.

Professor Young is an excellent instructor!! I took 2 classes with her this past semester and each one was interesting and engaging in its own way. She definitely makes the most out of each class and has a ton of experience in her field. Definitely take her if her classes are still open, they can fill up quickly!

Her lectures are amazing and she knows how to keep you interested the whole way through. Take good notes. She wants students to participate in class so just read the chapters; makes the class even more fun. She has some good jokes she'll throw in from time to time and some great stories to help you learn the material way better than the book could!

I took her for Human Sexuality and it was an interesting class. Definitely not like the high school "ok class let's look at body parts and giggle for an hour" type. She knows how to teach and the whole class had a good time. Not a lot of work at all, just some good lectures and a couple tests. Just read the text and participate in class.

I really enjoyed having Professor Young. She really knows her stuff and is a down-to-Earth professor who seems to just enjoy what she does. Sometimes she'll throw in some real life experiences when she was in school and it's really interesting. A fascinating person. Take her if you can, it'll be worth it and you'll learn more than you'd expect!

ms. young is awesome. i took her lifespan and development class and it was honestly the easiest class i took. very informative, don't get me wrong. she has alot of experience in the psych field and and makes the course very interesting to learn. not much work to do. just a few exams and group work and stuff. highly recommended!

Professor Young was by far my favorite teacher at lakeveiw. If you are planning to go into the Psych field you will love any class she teaches. Her real life experience in several psych related positions is priceless knowledge! Take her if you can, you will not be bored!

Mrs. Young is my next favorite instructor after Dr. Chozinksi. Her lectures are interesting and she is funny. You can tell than she loves what she does. Study for the midterm and final exam! If you don't you will regret it. The other assingments in her class are easy. I believe she only gave one opportunity for extra credit. Will take her again!

Amazing lectures, inspirational teacher-She provides real life experiences - brings the topic to life. If u simply know how to READ & use some of those elementary critical thinking skills u might actually get your desired grade, but we have over entitled lazy I mature mf that expect HANDOUTS & only know how to make excuses for themselves /I seen it

Professor Young is terrific! First thing, do take her if you care, it will be a real eye opener and she has some great and insightful lectures. She uses some of her real life professional experiences to help make the material easier to grasp. Do read the chapters as they are important for exams and she really wants people to participate in class.

Dr. Young is amazing. If you are a psychology major, please take her (she's in charge of the PSYCH department). Her lectures are so interesting and engaging. Her tests are also taken outside of class and you can use notes. The book and attendance is mandatory, but other than that she is a great professor!

Awesome Instructor. Took online. There's 8 Discussions, 1 paper assignment, 3 Bio-Sign ID, sign an "Acknowledge form," the Final is a comprehensive paper. Overall this class was easy A as long as you read all her lecture and watch her videos you should do well in her class.

Professor Young is one of those professors you know right away loves to teach. Her lectures are very engaging and she has fascinating material to discuss each class. Do read the text because she wants you to participate, it makes the class more fun and she doesn't shy away from most discussion topics. Do take this class of its available!

This class was overall a great class. You learn about concepts that you may have not known before. As long as you follow directions and participate accordingly, this class is a very easy class.

Took this class online and it was very interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed the material and the discussion assignments really got you thinking about stuff that you might not have considered before. I have taken other psyc courses before but this one goes more in depth and feels like you are really learning and using real-world concepts. Do take her.

Professor Young is a really neat professor. She really gets into her lectures and definitely wants the class to participate. She seems to want a more engaging environment. She's funny and has a lot of experience in her field and uses life experiences to help you. Listen to her lectures and take notes on them & her PowerPoints. It'll help for tests.

I don't know where those negative comments are coming from because Professor Young knows her stuff. The final might be a little more difficult but that's because it isn't a blow off class, she really wants you to learn. I had some family issues during the semester. Professor Young was caring & understanding and helped me so I could still pass.

Took Professor Young online and I enjoyed the class. Pretty straightforward - discussions, quizzes, and an exam. Just read the chapters and make sure to complete the discussions and you'll do just fine. In fact, I actually looked forward to answering the discussions each week. They got you thinking and some needed extra effort, but worth it.

This is the second class I've taken with Professor Young and she is an amazing professor. Really passionate about her classes and wants you to get something out of taking her class. That's why she encourages participation... Besides the fact that it makes the class more fun with some of the topics that come up. I recommend her, no doubt!

Took Professor Young over the summer online. It was a pretty easy class- assignments were clearly explained, tests were over what was in the text and some PowerPoint slides, and the discussion question we're pretty interesting. I learned more than expected in such a short time and I'd definitely take her again.

Ms. Young is so amazing!! I met with her during her office hours to go over some quiz grades and she tutored me on the subjects I was weak on. I could tell she genuinely cared about me and my learning. Her office was nice and organized and overall she seems like a great person.

She is by far one of the most influential professors I've taken in college. Lectures are in depth and she has real-life experience to back it up. Stays up to date on current research and if she happens to not know an answer she will get back to you on it. She's taught for awhile and it shows. Do study for the tests and definitely participate.

Ok so with my limited space I am just going to say take her if you have the chance! Interesting lectures and she adds some humor to it. She wants you to participate. A quiet, unresponsive class is one of her pet peeves. The tests can be a little tricky but all the info is right there in the book. There's almost no way you can't get at least a "B".

Amazing teacher. If you take the online class, you are recorded. She is strict but gets the most out of her students and helps us to get our moneys worth out of the course. Has me thinking about my future in Psychology.

This professor has awesome online classes. Her weekly discussion cover some very interesting topics and get you thinking about stuff you hadnt thought of before. Also the book was available free so that's always a good thing. The book has everything you need to pass the tests but the other assignment are the real treat. Take her if spots are open!

Professor Young knows her stuff. I really enjoyed her lectures... In depth, informative, and she teaches in a way that really grasps your attention. The tests are not bad because most of the questions are right from the book with a few lecture topicd thrown in. She doesn't give extra credit individually, but I don't think you'll need it. Professor Young is tremendous! She's funny, engaging and touches on great topics. I've taken other Psych courses at other schools but this was by far the best yet. I will definitely take any other courses she has in the future. Read the text and take good notes and you'll enjoy this class.

All I can say is wow! I had a whole lot of fun in this class, not just from Professor Young but also in the classroom discussions with my fellow classmates. It was very insightful and I enjoy how she really gets everyone to open up and be able to talk freely on whatever topic is being discussed. Her lectures are very well thought out and deep.

I hope Professor Young offers more classes before I graduate from NLC. I thoroughly enjoyed being there and it was actually the only class I didn't skip out on. I'm seeing alot of comments about no extra credit but if you just read the book and follow the lectures, you shouldn't need it. She was very willing to meet when I had questions on quizzes.

I have never had a class with such interesting conversation and thorough topics discussed. Professor Young really gets into the material and you definitely learn more than you'd expect... And it stays with you! This was a fun class and not too difficult.

Professor Young is no joke, she knows her stuff and wants you to come our understanding the material. Her lectures are terrific and she really gets the students involved and there is some great conversation that comes of it. I really enjoyed the group project we had as well. She makes the class entertaining because who enjoys a boring class.

Professor Young is extremely knowledgable about all things psychology. This is the professor to take if your major is psychology. The exams are not easy and are mainly based on the textbook. There are two presentations, carrying heavy grade percentages. I'm not saying don't take her, but know this is a challenging class as well as intriguing.

I took this class because a friend recommended Professor Young to me. I didnt do so well on my previous Psyc class so I had to retake it and this class was completely different... more interactive, more humor, more discussion. The tests take some reading but easy enough with notes. I am glad I took the plunge. Ill definitely be taking her again

So I took this class this past Spring in the middle of the Covid craziness. I was a little worried because I have never taken an online course but turned out just fine. Professor Young made sure we all understood what was going on and kept us informed. The class itself continued smoothly and she is a great professor and her class is really fun!

I enjoyed that Professor Young was able to help me out when I was having difficulty with my quizzes. I didnt get a good grade on the first 2 but she helped me through a Zoom meeting to see what to study and how so I could best understand the material on future quizzes and the final. It really helped and I did better than I thought by the final.

This is my second class Ive taken with Professor Young. I like the way she structures her classes because its pretty straight forward. The time frames are consistent. The discussions are REALLY interesting, and the quizzes are not difficult. Reading is required but it makes the final easier to get through but you can use some notes.

I was actually really disappointed that the rest of the classes were going to be online because of Covid. I really enjoyed Prof. Youngs lectures. They were so in depth and had my attention. However, the online Zoom classes turned out to be just as good. I still felt like I was right back in the classroom. She definitely knows what shes doing!

Professor Young has her class structured rather consistently. 2 weeks to finish a module, about 2-3 assignments including a quiz per module and then the final. Pretty simple and straightforward. But its her discussion that take the cake. They are really in depth and get you thinking. I had a great time filling those out each week. Good class

Professor Youngs class was pretty straightforward; weekly discussions, weekly quiz, and I believe 2 tests (1 being the final exam). Actually you get about 2 weeks to go through each module. The topics are interesting but its the discussions that get your attention and get you thinking. Read the text, youll need it for each quiz and test.

Knowledgeable lady. She loves psychology and will give examples within her own life and personal experiences.

I have enjoyed taking Professor Young for my online courses more than any other professor. I feel like Im still in the classroom because it feels like shes talking to you as an individual rather than just blurting out information. She tries her best to get the class interacting and the breakout rooms work well to talk in small groups.

This class has a schedule of reading 2-3 chapters in a two week period, and then taking a test. It is pretty straight forward however because of the amount of material you go over, it was extremely difficult for me. She also uses respondus lockdown so you're recorded when you take the tests. You can only use hand written notes.
