both classes very easy, almost too easy. it's very hard to fail unless you stop showing up and you don't do any of the work. it is spend in a computer lab so there is internet access. i don't think his accent hinders his teaching what-so-ever, he was definately smarter than everyone in that class!

I don't know how you are saying bad thing about Mr. Karr .We just start our class and I learn a lot. He is nice and great instructor.You can learn a lot a lot from him .

I certainly can't conquer with these comments about Dr. Karr's class. These comments are absurd and ridiculous. First of all, Dr. Karr class is extremely challenging and he does often uses both Texts in his class/Lectures. He does requires that you come to class and his expectation is of the normal Professor. Hard, but u will learn in his class!

Dr. Karr spends alot of time educating many students about English! I have truly enjoyed his lectures and referencing from the Little Brown Handbook and reading from the Writers Presence Textbook. Dr. Karr's class is very challenging and you cannot be caught writing on paper, USE the COMPUTER!!! Wonderful class, you will for sure learn alot w/him

Dr. Karr is the best English instructor at HCc. He encourage you to learn how to write the easy way.we practice speech also in his class. I wish he gives other than English 1 and 2 for sure I will take it with him.

This man is with out a doubt one of the most interesting individuals I have ever came across! If you have the opportunity or should I say have the privelge to take his class...DO IT!! I find his depth of knowlege stimulating and his teaching level bar non the best I have ever had at any University. He is a genius!!!!!

Most student at HCC are lazy and think classes are difficult. Dr Karr is brillant very knowledgeable and helpful. It would behove those of you lazy asses to take his class and learn something with the goverment money that is paying foe your schooling. Dr Karr will teach you a lot!

This instructor is great. He is very articulate and made this class very interesting. I wanted to take him for 1302 but personal schedule would not permit. If you like to be told directly, pick this instructor.

English 1301 was my first college class. Let it be known, Dr. Karr is a very humorous man. He is highly intelligent and seems to enjoy sharing his knowledge. He definitely challenged me and helped better my writing. The way he teaches motivated me to go to class every evening. I definitely recommend taking English with Dr. Karr. :)

Dr. Karr is a great man. For my first class taught at HCC, I found the prof. to be very easy. Nearly all of the work is work you can do yourself, yet he is always available if one needs help. He learned 90% of the students names (I appreciated this), thus allowing the class to be more personal. He grades essays easy as long as they are not garbage.

Great teacher. Need to attend class to be on his good side. He grades very fairly if you show effort in the course (participate, do readings, etc.). While textbook readings are assigned, only go over about 3 short stories (all reading are online for free - don't need book). Offers tons of extra credit -got a total of 40 extracredit, 20 on 2 grades

I find Prof Karr very interesting. He is the most lively tutor at HCC - Hayes campus. His pragmatic approach in responding to questions, active listening skills, the use of phonetics, and most especially he painstakingly attempt to relate issues to real-life happenings. I will recommend him. He is very time conscious.

This prof was nice and graded pretty easy. I took the summer 5 week. There were lots of extra credit opportunities which bumped me up to an A.

He is not an easy A, but still a very good professor. He is patient and gives good advice to students that are struggling. His lectures are pretty engaging and he is easy to pay attention to. I recommend him!

Professor Karr is very laid back, he lectures a lot about real life issues, he can sometimes over lecture. As long as you attend class, do your project, your research paper, turn in the papers he assigns... you will pass the class.

Dr. Karr is a good professor. He helped me all through the course to improve my English. very strict on attendance, but he gave me a presentation topic that I enjoyed working on. I think he is very knowledgeable and caring. I could not take another course with him because of schedule conflict, but I sure recommended him to my buddies.

Dr. Karr is a very caring professor. He makes you work for your grade. I don't know may be that is the reason my roommate didn't like him, but I heard he pushes kids. I needed a person like him. don't like most of my high school people. that is why I have to work to make up math and English.

I liked Dr. Karr's style. He cares about your work and is tough sometimes and does not get along with dudes who skip class and want A's for papers that god know who wrote for themselves. I got good help from him for writings I had to do for my other classes. He was generous with his time.

I took Dr. Karr's class last semester and even though I did not get an A ,I think he treated me fair. He pushed me to work harder and understood my working and class situation and gave me a chance. I was horribly behind. One thing I admire for him. He helps you if you show you work and don't just sit there doing nothing.

He's a very knowledgeable professor, and is always willing to help. You'll have to do your part but you'll learn a lot. He gives you a project related to your major and lots of supporting material for your writing.

Professor Karr, to my surprise, was better than I expected. He truly cares and wants his students to succeed. His class was made up of quizzes and a variety of papers. The paper topics he chose were knowledgeable and situation-based. His class is challenging but in the best way possible. I would 100% recommend him + he has a great sense of humor.

If you listen to him carefully about the syllabus he gives you at the begging of the class and make sure you do your homework and essays you have to write then this class will be easy to get A

Cares a lot about participation and regular attendance because he doesn't generally want to deal with lost babes in the wood who skip class and miss out on the details for the assignments. Helps and supports those who care and behave responsibly by coming to class on time and do not skip class.
