Valery is a really great teacher, very fair, she gives extra credit and will throw out questions if the whole class missed them. She has a good sense of humor and her class is fun.

Valory is a wonderful instructor. A&P isn't, and shouldn't be, an easy course. But Valory cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Prior to beginning this class, I heard many good things, and they were all true. She is an amazing teacher and she made it very easy to understand the material. She is very good at responding to your questions via text or email. The one person who gave her a bad review probably cheated and got kicked out like a moron! If you can, take her class!!!!

I took BI 231-233 with Valory! She is awesome. She really knows her stuff, and does a great job at delivering the material. You must keep up with class in order to do well. It's a hard class, but Valory was great. Highly recommended.

Oh, my God! She made me love Micro! It may be a little gross sometimes, but I was fascinated throughout the whole term. Labs are hard until you get the hang of things. Just remember to pre-read the lab instructions before lab so you don't waste time. I recommended this class and will continue to recommended it!

I have taken all of her classes, the Anatomy sequence and Micro. For A &P she records her lectures and puts them on the portal for you to review. This was VERY helpful. If you are confused go to her office hours and she will take the time to help you. I wish I could take more classes with her. She gives you new ways to think about life.

Val is a FANTASTIC instructor and loves the material that she teaches. My only complaint is that even though she talks a lot about how she wants to help be everyone's mentor... she's very cold and somewhat rude when you actually approach her for advice/help. If you are taking BI233 you already know these classes are not easy you need to show up ready to learn and take notes on your power point slides. Tests are from lecture notes she writes her tests right off of her lecture notes. She expects you to learn this stuff and be able to apply it not just memorize it which is excellent for us students. I LOVE THIS INTRUCTOR, she is always willing to help you during office hours. Her exams are all based off her lecture notes and it is possible to get A in her class. She records all the lectures , which makes it easy to watch as many times as you want in case if you missed anything from class. she also is quick to respond to texts or emails .

I went into this class DREADING it and two weeks in I was looking forward to class. I came home wanting to read my book. She makes her lectures fun and interesting and turns a very hard subject into something fascinating. She even offered to practice interview me for nursing school. Saying that, this is a 200 level micro class so be prepared to work for your A. She does tend to focus her energy on a chosen few students, and can leave the other students out. Bio 234 was very fun class . Valory was very awesome teacher. She knows all her stuff. her teaching method , grading and homework is fair .The lab and the lecture class is fun you learned a lot . Valory is a great teacher that makes lectures and labs fun and interesting. There are 5 homework packets for the chapters each exam covers, 2 reflection papers, and weekly quizzes based on the lecture materials. If you show up to lab/lecture and put in some effort, it's not a hard class to pass.

I love her. Best teacher I have every had. Long chapters to read. Gives help when asked/ is passionate about her work. Wants everyone to succeed and you can tell. Her grading system is very good! She lets you retry tests until you get your highest score, and grades on completion for labs. As long as you try your best you will end with a good grade.

Valory is one of my all time favorite teachers at MHCC. Does she give out a lot of homework, yes, but she does it to help her students understand the material and not memorize it. She has her lectures pre-recorded which makes life a lot easier. Highly recommend!!

Valory is an awesome professor. I had her for BI231-233 and took a hybrid class. I recommend the hybrid class because she has all the lecture videos and labs for each chapter which was super helpful. There is a lot of homework but it's honestly necessary with an A&P class.

Valory was recommended by one of my coworkers. I was struggling with BI and after taking Valory, I feel relieved. I took majority of the sequence with Valory and don't regret it. She is caring, smart, and patient. Her work ethic is the best. She gives good feedback with extra time to complete work. She is always an email away and replies quickly..

Took Anatomy 231, and she was awesome! She makes it easy to understand anatomy not just learn it. The homework was done with a textbook which was free online! Tests were a mix of written answers and multiple-choice, she likes it when you explain things in your own words! I would recommend her to anyone taking a science class!

Dr. Valory is the most amazing professor! She made anatomy, one of the hardest classes ever, fun. Her lectures are amazing, she is very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. She is understanding and flexible as long as you work hard and communicate! She just makes school less stressful, and I have learned more than ever before!

Valory is an AMAZING professor. She sets students up for success in her courses. I would by far recommend Valory if you are willing to do some course heavy work, try your best and show up to labs. All assigned work is done for a reason, if you are motivated for your educational pathway, you won't have an issue in her class.

Valory is a great professor, be prepared becasue these classes are alot of work! She was very easy to get in contact with, I would recommend her class as her lay out is much better then other teachers. She does talk fast in her online videos, made some of the lab homework difficult. All in all I would recommend.

I took Valory's class for A&PI, II, and Micro. Was pretty devastated that she isn't/wasn't teaching BI233. Her teaching style and my learning style worked out. She sticks to the syllabus and doesn't unnecessarily switch things up. She is great at responding to emails. Very passionate about the subject and teaching. She also provides recourses.

Valory is an engaging prof who makes biology exciting. Lots of reading and hw, but she provides great feedback and is always available to help. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for exam prep - highly recommend!

I took this class as a hybrid class but if possible, take it in person. Microbiology is a really hard class with a lot of reading but if I had to take it again I would take it with her. Don't miss too many labs or you will fall behind!

Take her!!! She's so awesome & understanding! The way she teaches you will understand! Make time for homework everyday, and you'll pass! 1 chance of extra credit so take advantage. Quite a bit of reading, but it's worth cause it helps learn it even better

Valory is brilliant and is passionate about science. For an online class, take the time to watch every lecture all the way through and take really good notes. This will get you through the class with a good grade. She is funny, has personality and gets excited about the topics. She makes things interesting. Beware though, it's a TON of work.

The best professor I've ever taken, she's so quick to reply, only labs are in person. Quizzes are open note. Homework is lengthy but so worth it because you actually learn. The way she teaches the information actually sticks! Labs are so fun and interesting, come to every class and you get points.

Valory was an excellent professor! She wasnt too strict, does have heavy homework but usually gives 100% for completion. Very nice totally would take her again.
