He's a fun teachers, someimes gets a little boring but what teacher doesn't. I recommend him, I think the only course he teachs is physical science...lab is good too with him

I took this teacher over the summer and he's probably just as easy during the year. His course is actually pretty interesting. Take notes during class and if you study them, you'll do fine on the test. He's a really nice guy and loves his job.

I hated science, dreaded it but Van loves the subject and loves to teach it. You can't help but to learn it and actually enjoy some of it. He gives you loads of extra credit if you show up. He works around YOUR schedule and all your essay questions are given to you at the beginning of class. I use the word essay loosely! GOT AN A!! Thank Van!

Before I took Van's class, I wasn't interested in physcial science AT ALL... but he makes it so interesting and fun! Van truly cares about his students and he wants you to get a good grade. Very entertaining and helpful. His tests take some preparation, but he gives extra credit throughout the course. He teaches a subject that the students are not necessarily going to major in, and he realizes this. I thought i hated physical Science until this course.

I took Van for Spring 2009. He is a great instructor and an even better person. He makes the subject fun. His test are not easy, but easy offers a ton of extra credit. If you study for test make an effort to show up to every class you shall be rewarded. If someone say something bad about Van. Then they made no effort in the class. Trust ME.

Van is a great teacher and a very nice person. No Textbook required, going to the class is not mandatory but its in your benefit to go to the class because he gives out a lot of extra credit. If you go to his lectures, then his tests are fairly easy.

The reason I'm a geology major is because of him. If I hadn't have taken him, I would be stuck in political science hating it. He was my favorite teacher at Santa Fe and a good person. It's impossible to not like him.

I took the Geology Lab this semester and it was fantastic! Every week is a field trip to springs, caves, state parks, etc. You'll have a lot of fun and learn so much at the same time. I definitely recommend this lab to anybody.

This teacher is amazing! I had him in the summer for GLY2010 and then this fall for the lab. Best lab ever! It was really easy and fun, and every class was a different adventure, we went caving, to the springs, and a bunch of other neat places. I highly recommend his class and lab for an easy A.

Mr. Van was a really great teacher. He made class very interesting. Dont think you are going to get out of his class early, because he teaches every second of every class. He is very helpful and gives TONS of extra credit! His final is optional...if you are happy with your grade then you dont have to take it.

Probably one of my favorite professors to date. He absolutely loves what he does, and is great at doing it. He jokes around a lot, which I love. He makes learning easy and his exams are very easy and directly from notes and a study guide he gives at the beginning of the term. You DO NOT need to buy the textbook. Ok...so I'm usually great at science but I found this course to be difficult a lot of the times. You definitely have to put forth effort, it's not as easy as everyone is making it sound. He is extremely helpful, but I found the class to be boring and difficult. Oh, and forget ever getting out early...get used to staying a few minutes past.

I had him for lab. He was a lot of fun. The labs were fun and not hard. You have to attend every lab or else you have to redo it on your own. If you do your lab assignments and go to the lab then you will get a good grade. He doesn't give any quizzes. You are responsible for showing up, doing the lab and the final.

Van was a very good professor! It wasn't an "Easy A" but I got an A. I took it for summer b so it was a cram class. You have a midterm, a final, and a series of quizzes that are pretty easy. He gives tons of xtra credit. I'd take him again. Show up to class, and do exactly what he says. He gives you all the essay questions before tests so do them!!

This is my 3rd semester w/Van, just taking the Lab this time (1 afternoon/week). Definitely one of the coolest science classes I've taken: field trips to fossil digs, sinkholes, rivers & springs, and my favorite - we got to go caving! Van talks a lot, but is a fun, laid back teacher. I'd recommend him to anyone - you just need to pay attention!

THIS GUY!! This guy is the BEST! He embraces technology (phones, etc) he said you can get the book but..YOU CAN FINDS THE SAME STUFF ON THE INTERNET! Looks for thorough essay answers on his tests. This is the prof to take! he makes the class interesting. he does talk a lot. gives u all the notes. save all extra credits for the final, youll need it. ask questions and he'll answer straight fwd. he he starts on time so dont be late. he gives u all the papers you need and no textbook. only a lab book u buy. great teacher!!!

Although this class is super easy and he gives more extra credit than you know what to do with, I didnt really enjoy this class. He teaches like he is a kindergarten teacher, has extremely low expectations, and dumbs everything down to elementary schools level. If you are looking for an easy A without actually learning much, take this class.

I took this class Summer B and it was a one day a week. We had quizzes that were take home and were allowed to compare answers before class. There are only 2 test (midterm and final) and were allowed to use notes. The teacher is awesome and it was a really easy/ cool class. Take him if you can! I hate science and got an A.

Gives you ample amount of extra credit opportunities and will tell you atleast up to 40% of what is going to be on the tests. 3 tests and then a final which you already know what is going to be on it and have the answers to already. Best prof ever! Goes kind of fast but gives you everything you need to succeed. Lots of extra credit. 20 points average to earn per test. Attendance is a must to get the material you need for test. but he gives you all the answers on the test before you take it. Also if you attend class he will give you insider tips for secret answers on tests.

This is the first class I've finished in seven years and I finished with a B. Van is awesome. He wants his students to succeed and do well. He gives extra credit and allows you to use your notes on the exam. He doesn't require you to buy the textbook because "Google exists". Attendance is mandatory but he makes class fun and interesting to attend!

Professor Dubolsky is a fantastic professor, he is very funny and interesting to listen to. His lectures are entertaining and labs are fun. The labs were very fun and you got to choose your partners on the 1st day-choose WISELY. Tests were hard and you need to be there every day in order to get EVERY answer for the Study Guide. Study and you will get A+.

Van is a very nice guy, & he has a good sense of humor but i didn't like this class. I guess I didn't study enough, because the tests were insanely hard & i feel as though he rambled on in class a lot. Also, his notes were always over-done, I wish he just got straight to the point. All in all, this is the type of class you really need to study for

Van is the best professor I've taken in my time at SFC. He offers sooooo much extra credit so take advantage of it. He teaches beyond well and you actually learn the material not just memorize it. He's old school he doesn't appreciate electronics in class so don't used them because you'll get participation penalty.

Took this class with the lab this semester. The lab was by far the best class I have ever taken. If you're not good at science(bio& chem), this is an amazing physical science class. The tests are open note and you are given study questions on the first day of class. I would recommend this class to anyone. Dont buy a book, you can google everything.

He is a good professor. Labs were fun majority of the time. You pay attention in class you pass the class. He tells you the question that are gonna be on the test alot. Make sure you study the study guide questions. He helps you and wants you to pass the class. And go to the labs thats a big part of your grade. Do the OPT !!!!!

Van is an awesome dude/professor (yes he lets you call him by his first name.) He trys to make the subject as interesting as possible with funny jokes and stories. A huge portion of your grade is attending lab and doing the homework and all the assignments are super easy, but the tests are hard. So yes, you must study. Take him, you wont regret it!

Van is the teacher you want to take if you aren't a big science person. The only thing you are required to buy is the lab book and attendance isn't mandatory. He gives 4 tests but gives an insane amount of extra credit for each test. If you come to class and lab, do the work, and study a little for his test you should definitely make an A.

TAKE VAN!!! If you have the option to take Van then you definitely should! Seriously the best professor I've ever had. Gives a lot of extra credit. Do all the extra credit, study a little, and come to class and you can easily get an A.

I wish there were other classes I could take with Van. He is the best professor I ever took at Santa Fe. If science isn't your subject, take him. He is funny and he makes the subject interesting. Don't buy the text book. Just buy the lab book. Also, USE THE OPT-OUTS!!!!

I never looked at Van's rating on here. With the spring term coming up i was curious to see what he was, and his 4.8 was expected. Phenomenal teacher. Make sure you pay attention and do the study guide as he teaches. HAHA he's been at Santa Fe longer than any teacher.

He is very helpful, and is willing to explain a subject until a full understanding has been achieved. It is recommended that an individual attends class, by doing so they will be better equipped to handle the task given, and also experience a break down of the subject.

Van is the best professor I have had the privilege to be taught by in all my school years. He's the first science class I have ever passed and it was a true pleasure seeing him three days a week. Go to class, go to lab, do your work, and enjoy. He offers opt-outs which are super easy and make your life throughout the semester a breeze. Take him!!!!

DO NOT MISS CLASS. he gives extra credit in both classes all the time and they help you jump a whole letter grade on the Exams. do all the OPT-OUTS you wont regret it. Three test and a Final. Great professor you wont regret it. Pop quizzes are done in groups as well.

Van is the man! Loads of extra credit points for your exam. Honestly the lectures are boring but you wont get an easier science teacher. Do the opt outs and study guides and your guaranteed an "A" or a "B".

Van is the best teacher. I don't like science at all but taking his class was great. Labs and lectures were entertaining. He gives a lot of hand outs so staying organized and coming to class is a must. Save your opt outs!!!!

Best professor ever! His class is super easy. He does not take attendance but it is always a good idea to show up because you will have so many extra credit opportunities. Usually, your extra credit will bump you up an enire letter grade on the class. He is funny and makes the class entertaining and is really good at explaining everything. 10/10!!

One of the best profs I've ever had. Almost no HW, attendance not mandatory (HIGHLY recommended though), funny, significant extra credit opportunities almost every class, is enthusiastic and is very friendly and likable. Only advice is to choose wisely where you sit on the first day of lab - you'll be stuck with those people all semester.

Van was an amazing professor. He gives clear criteria for every assignment and what to study for each exam. Go to lab, if taking it! They really help you to understand the topics, and help boost your grade. Do not slack on the homework and study for the exams. Do all of the extra credit and op outs, it's easy. This really helps on the final exam!

Professor Van is an angel! Physical science isnt my favorite, but he made it so enjoyable. Optional final, a ton of extra credit, and its pretty easy. It can be a long class/lab, but it is worth it. Just show up and do you work, he makes it interesting, and will make you laugh. I would love to take him again!

Professor Dubolsky is one of the best professors I have ever had. Just show up to class and you will be fine. Gives a lot of extra credit to help students out.

Best professor. Had him in-person for PSC2121 & he gives you 3 take home tests throughout the semester & they're all 15 questions w/ about a month to work on each. He gives A LOT of the answers in class, extra credit opportunities, & lab credit if you show up. HW is easy & goes over it with the class. If you don't show up, you'll be confused.

If you aren't a science major like me and just need an easy A course for your A.A., take Van! He is hilarious and as long as you do the few homework assignments given in class, you'll pass with a high grade. Most test answers are given in class and he allows you to copy them. Tests are taken on paper at home and answers are in paragraph format :)

Mr. Dubolsky in absolutely terrific teacher. Do yourself a favor and TAKE his class. One of my favorite teachers. Both a gentleman and a scholar.

Professor Van is the most straight up professor there is and easiest class. As long as you show up you'll have an A, tests are done throughout the semester in class. other than that, homework is often done in class too and if not, it is easy hw.
