I don't have as a teacher,but he is very helpful and has helped me to understand my A&P class. Its nice for a teacher to help a student and I don't have him. He's cool and sometimes you wonder if he is serious when he jokes. I would pick him to be my teacher if I had to.

This guy was a great teacher. I took it with him in the summer, he did a great job with how much time we had. I passed the class with almost a 78. Use the powerpoints to study and the review sheets! you will pass if you apply yourself.

Awesome teacher, he really wants you to "get it" and does everything in his power to break it down so that you do. He is always accessable and I spent many of his lunch hours in his office, he goes above and beyond. You do have to read and do the work, but he will bend over backwards to help. Not at all inappropriate, actually quite a family man.

Professor Van is very informative, concise, respectful and willing to answer any question. He posts practice tests which are really helpful and he is a very fun and intelligent teacher, who will do what he can to help you pass, he is a very easy going person.

I've had Van for A and P I&II, and in both classes he's been a fantastic teacher. Pay attention in lecture and you'll understand what's he's on about. He does go off on tangents, but show me a teacher who doesn't... Going to lecture is very helpful, but he posts his notes on Blackboard.

GREAT class, wonderful guy, hard material. Had him for A&P 1&2. DO the practice tests and the bonus?'s he posts AND READ THE BOOK.Be careful of his lab practicals GOTTA STUDY especially in #2.

VAN IS THE MAN!! Take this class in the summer with him. You learn a lot, his tests are easy if you memorize his practice tests. GREAT GUY!!!! You'll get at least an A or B.

I have Van right ow for A&P I and I'm sooo upset he was booked for the spring semester within 20 min of class registration. He is awesome and really helps you when you ask for it. Def take the practice exams if yu can! It's almost the exact test

Van is an awesome teacher. He makes everything easy and uses examples to make them clear. I had him for A&P I. He was great. Let us out early. Take the practice quizzes they are exact on the tests. When you need help just ask, he's more than willing to help out!

Took A&P 1&2 with Van. GREAT guy. Made learning relaxing instead of stressful. Practice test are EXTREMELY helpful for A&P 1. More studying for A&P 2 in addition to practice. Overall THE BEST HVCC TEACHER. Wish he taught all classes.

Van is seriously the best teacher that you can have in college. You don't even need to know ANYTHING, he puts all tests online WORD FOR WORD a couple days before he gives them. he is sooooo sexy and the nicest professor. i don't think anyone should have any other choice for a bio teacher cause van is the man

He is very passionate about teaching Biology, but doesn't require anything from his students except to show up with a number two pencil on test days. Posts the test online the night before, so you are not required to learn ANYTHING. Do not take his class unless you are self motivated and can avoid the temptation to coast.

Van expects plenty from his students. He creates an AMAZING learning atmosphere. He is totally there for his students. So if you can't handle a truly dedicated teacher, go elsewhere.

Van posts practice tests to prepare you. But his tests are tough and the lab practicals are tough too. He is an AWESOME TEACHER who makes A&P 1&2 a joy to attend. Accept no substitute!

Easy. His tests are easy his grading for lab is even easier. He is so full of energy and life. He coaches wrestling too. His lectures are very interesting and he communicates the information very well.

Love Him. Fast talker but knows his stuff. I recommend you read the book even though he gives a practice quiz similar to test, but if you truly Want to Learn read the chapters ahead of/ or at the same time as well as his blackboard notes. Charming, fun, doesn't read verbatum from slides. Uses real life stories. Take Him for A&P if u can get in.

This teacher is amazing!!! He doesn't seem to mind if people don't show up. He forgets attendance all the time (doesn't count anyway) if you miss a test or quiz you can make it up easily. He posts all tests online the day before- guaranteed a 100. The labs are super easy-he doesn't even make you wear goggles! Easy to get him to talk about anything.

Such an easy class. Attendance doesn't matter. All tests are posted on blackboard the night before. Don't bother buying the text book- you won't need it at all. He is in shape because he was a wrestler. Favorite teacher at hvcc hands down.

Van treats his students like adults. So if you want someone who constantly reminds you to do the reading, take someone else. He is real.Knows that most of us have a life outside of school, so doesn't require much busywork, but makes sure we learn.

I took Van for A&P 1 and A&P 2. He is by far the best Biology teacher Hudson VCC has. He is crystal clear with his lectures and provides everything you need to get an A. If you don't get him as a professor you will be sorry because he is the best!

Van is a tremendous teacher. I had him for A&P I, II and learned so much from him! His lectures are very interesting and in lab will help you during dissections, helping out with what you are having trouble with, etc. He will work with you, insuring that you learn. I cannot think of a better teacher to learn the subject from!

Professor Fronhofer is amazing! The best professor I have had yet! I wish all professors had such enthusiasm about the subjects they teach. I had him for A&P 1. I signed up for additional science classes with him because I liked his class so much.

I had taken A&P 1 with this professor, and enjoyed the class so much I signed up for several other Sciences with him. He is extreamly clear about what he expects from you, and is willing to help you if you need it. He really cares about the students and wants everyone to succeed in his class. I can not say enough good things about him.

He is very helpful and lenient. He makes his lectures interesting by relating it to daily life (science wise). The labs require a lot of memorization but if you actually study you'll do fine. His lecture exams are pretty much the practice exams he puts online. Overall he is a easy going professor!

Easy yet I understood everything. Took A&P 1 with another teacher, learned nothing and got a C. Van's tests are easy-study practice tests. His labs are memorization, invest 30 mins on each topic and get an A. ON TOP OF ALL THE EASY TESTS/LABS, I learned so much and I STILL remember what he taught in class. BTW-I watched HOUSE MD and knew EVERYTHING

Great teacher, enjoyed his class. If you have any questions he has no problem answering them. He gives study guides for exams and goes over them before the exam. Would take a class from him again!

Van's a great person. He's very approachable. Provides pre-test as study guides (95% of what is actually on the real test). He teaches to a higher level and speaks fast, but pre-read the PowerPoints used, and you won't be totally lost. Labs require memorization. Overall, good teacher, laid back. Use what he provides and you'll do well (A/B)!

He is an amazing professor and great guy. If you go to class and put in effort, he'll bump up your grade a couple points. Sit in the front of class and get to know him and he will be really nice to you. I think it was easier than A and P 1.

He's a great guy, NOT a great teacher. There were kids in class who SHOULDN'T have been anywhere near a bio class but were just taking it bc he was teaching. If you're continuing on then you're in trouble bc you won't actually learn anything. The flocks of teenage girls flirting whim is distracting & annoying; tho he clearly loves it.

Van is the man! Come to class, sit back, and enjoy lectures while learning. He is super smart and interesting to listen to. Tests (lecture and lab) are very fair. People here saying "too easy, easy A" probably just memorize and forget. He makes materiel easy to learn and remember of you care to. I still remember 20 types of epithelium, bones, etc.

Van is great. His class is so much easier than most other A&P courses and I was able to enjoy the material and his lectures. Study his practice exams because that's where he gets his exam questions and quizlet's web site as well. Overall he's great teacher and his lectures are understandable.

Best Teacher ever! I took summer courses(anatomy and physiology 1 & 2) with him and It is nothing like other A&P classes. He wants you to pass and not struggle. He gives you practice test before the exam and he gives you a word bank on every lab practical. I thought the class was going to be a nightmare but it turned out super awesome!

I had Dr Fronhofer for the first time for Bio I. I have stuck with him because, he is an enthusiastic teacher to those who want to learn. willing to talk to you out side of class and very knowledgeable in many topics. As for his testing style, yes study the practice test, but STUDY your butt off for Lab tests.

Fronhofer was a great teacher. You have to try to not to pass his class. The practice tests are big help with the lecture exams. However, for the lab practicals, you have to put in a good amount of effort in order to pass those. He values what his students request of him. He's very good and efficient with using Blackboard and e-mails. He is GR8!

Few teachers are PHD yet casual. He cares about the students learning the material. Read the book! Go prepared read 1 chapter ahead! His lecture slides are direct, grading is direct. First few tests are IDENTICAL to practice tests, final may be as well! Study for lab exams!! Ask him to allow video recording of his lab test review(s)!!

Van is an amazing professor. His notes are on power points that you can print prior to class. Before his lecture exams he gives practice tests which contain most of the answers for your actual exam. He is very animated and enthusiastic about what he is teaching which makes it easy to pay attention. He is very funny and also a nice person!

Van, is super intelligent , engaging in his teaching style. He imparts with all the information you need to do well and succeed. You have to do the work, read and study your materials. He mentions "evolutionary theories" which exclude the Creator (my only gripe). All in all he's fantastic and if you haven't been taught by Van your missing out.

If at all possible, take his class. He is very knowledgeable and passionate, and provides learning opportunities for a variety of learning styles. His practice exams set you up well to get an A on the in class exams. The lab quizzes are easy if you're paying attention! A&P is a hard subject especially in a 6 week summer session but he's worth it

I took A &P 1 with him for a 6 week summer class last summer after an 8 year hiatus having never passing a science class before. I found his lectures super entertaining, and he clearly is passionate about science which kept my attention. Study his guides and pay attention in lecture because he gives hints for the tests. Awesome professor!!!

I took A&P 1 and 2 with Van this summer. He is one of the greatest Professors Ive ever had. He is very passionate about teaching and explains the subject in a way that is easy to understand. I enjoyed his classes. He's very laid back and funny, but his lectures can become confusing because he talks so fast. His testing his really easy, I think that's the only reason I made a good grade, but I didn't feel like I retained a lot from the class.

Van was and still is my favorite professor of all time. This was my freshman year at Hudson Valley and I am entering the field of Nursing. Vans lectures were very informational and fun. He genuinely cares about his students and will do anything to help them as long as they are willing to put in the time to do so. If you can, TAKE VAN. Love him!!

Doctor Van Fronhofer is the best professor, as long as you study and show up you will do great. He is very caring and willing to help. I took him for A&P I and II, and I asked him for extra help, I ended up attending his office hours once a week for extra help and passed with an A+. As long as you are willing to put in the work you will do fine.

I had Van for Anatomy & Physiology I and he made you want to do your best and made the material fun. He also gave minimal work, which allowed you to study a lot and really understand the information. Not to mention, he was really reliable in terms of emailing you back. Lastly, everything was open note. Less stress, more learning. Man, I miss Van.

Professor Fronhofer definitely cares about what he's teaching, and he's pretty good at it. He skips around in the lectures a lot, so if they're accessible, make sure you copy down what he skipped over because it might be on an exam. He goes off on 15 minute tangents sometimes, but that's probably his only downside.

The first time I took prof. Van was for A&P I class and I was going to see if he's good or bad, but ended up with taking A&P I/II, Bio 190/191. He's one of the best/amazing prof. I've ever took, he cares about you, respect you, and teach you the best out of Bio. Easy lecture test but STUDY HARD for LAB tests and never skip his lab 100% I recommend.

Unlike some of the other professors at HVCC, professor Van is definitely a professor that I'd recommend to anyone. He is very knowledgeable about anything related to biology and is helpful in lab.

All the tests and quizzes are on Quizlet. We used Pearson sometimes so we had to use textbook fir that. Easy class. I showed up for 2 months then stopped but I still passed. Friendly and funny guy that you can get along well with.

As was already stated, Van made an insanely difficult subject easy. If you know well in advance that you need A&PII for your degree, you need to sign up in the first 5 minutes after they open the enrollment.. because everyone wants Fronhofer, and spots go FAST! He's just such a cool guy, very passionate about the material.

Van is THE professor for A&P 1&2. There is no homework, labs are interesting, you don't need the textbooks or lab manuals and attendance isn't mandatory. PRACTICE TESTS ARE YOUR SAVING GRACE! USE THEM! Classes fill up immediately, so be sure to sign up right at 8am when registration opens.

Dr Fronhofer is the best professor by far in hvcc. study practice test 80% on actual test. if still failing,don't give up. final exams count for 2. your grade on the final will replace one exam grade. The final practice test is actually everything on the final. take the practice tests seriously. i will test him again in A&P2 in the fall2022.

This class was a stress-free zone for me. He gave great analogies for the topics he would teach. I wish he taught other classes as well. such a hilarious professor, just like a friend. He set the bar high for my other professors!! He helps guide you for the tests before the time of the test. He is available outside class.

For such a hard complex course it's very easy to get an A with this professor exam are hundreds of points but as long as you know the quizzes the exams are easy.

Rather than simply teaching from a rote list, he realizes most of his students are focused on a medical career and will focus on that and sometimes bring up real-life scenarios in his class. Can go off on tangents in lecture, but ultimately they're actually generally related to the topic at hand and interesting. Highly recommended.

He gets a 5/5 from me but despite that is not a professor I would take again because his class is almost too easy. The lab section was fantastic, however, despite not having a lot of dissections. Issue with his class is that the tests are based almost 1:1 on practice, and not the lecture content. So yes I got an A, but I don't think I learned much.

I took BIO271 as a summer 6 week course. He is very engaging in lecture and you can tell he loves what he teaches. All but the first exam (including the final) are almost identical to his practice tests, except maybe a handful of questions. The information on the exams, is not in his notes but the textbook. Word bank for lab practicals is great

The best professor I've ever had and I will always remember him. His lectures were engaging and he's funny. You can not fail this class; if you do, you didn't try at all. I'm a young mom and struggled to make it to some classes. He was very understanding and simply told me to bring my child. I never even asked. We need more professors like him.

He wants you to learn, to succeed, he cares and his passion for this field shows. Lectures are active, engaging, funny. He's not just reading off slides. Grades are 100% fair, no BS, no time wasting busy work.

Amazing professor, learned so much and was made very easy. He gives you study guides that are identical to the tests. lab can be tricky but manageable if you study. Took A&P1 and 2 with him and barely ever got a grade under 90. Look on Quizlet for other students that have made study sets that took this class helped a lot

Professor Fronhofer makes a challenging subject engaging and manageable. The exams closely align with practice tests, and the textbook is essential. Unstuck AI is a great supplementary study tool alongside the course materials.

professor Fronhofer is an amazing lecturer and he basically makes it impossible for you to fail as his exams use questions from practice tests he provides for the students. he uses funny and interesting topics to get you interested in the subject. even for the lab tests you know exactly what he wants you to remember. homework is minimal.
