One of the kindest and most caring professors I have ever meet. She will do all she can to help. She grades on a curve and gives extra credit problems on tests. Also if you get an A on the final you get an A in the class, final was 50 questions. You will have to do a 10 min presentation on a chemistry topic.
Best Professor I've ever had!
Excellent Teacher. She's one the most helpful professor I've ever had in school. Is very patient with students, however, I think a little too patient which causes us to stay the whole class. Once she learns to deliver the material a little more effiently her class can be a breeze. Besides that, she made Chemistry very fun. I totally recommend her
Good teacher. Powerpoint presentations are very useful. She cares about her student and kinda funny. Do the homework. On the flip, she is disorganized at times, homeworks and labs may not get back to in time for test, and she is always late. Max late time 20 minutes. Still liked her though.
I hated chemistry before taking her class, after just being in her General chem I class I can honestly say I have a passion for the subject. She really sets her students up for success, very easy to approach when confused about any topics.Mrs. P is very very caring and knows how to make the subject matter interesting. TAKE HER!!
There is just so much information to cover and she was clear about that. If you asked her for help, she was very willing. Her slides were very helpful and if she wasnt able to finsh the lecture, she made sure that she let you know that it was our responsibility to know the info. Overall a great professor.
Great Professor! Chemistry isn't easy so don't expect an easy A. Tests are fair. You will need to study on your own! A bit harsh on grading Labs. Very helpful and reasonable.
Tests have nothing to do with what we learned. She just picks the test questions from a study guide book and doesn't even read over them. Would not recommend. Harsh lab grader.
I love her! Also taking her for 1046. She is often late to class, but only by a few minutes. Great teacher and cares about her students. Wants us to do well and she takes time after class to ensure we understand the material. Buy the book and do your homework!!
This is one of the best professors that I have ever had, very helpful and caring for the students.
Great teacher! She really wants you to learn and succeed! Your grade is your choice entirly! Tests are fair and what you get is what you put into it! I highly recommend!
first of all she is hot but more importantly she genuinely cares about her students and she really does work with you if your willing to put in the effort… she is awesome take her and you wont regret it and DONT MISS CLASS! youll regret it!
first of she is hot but more importantly she genuinely cares about her students and she really does work with you if your willing to put in the effort… she is awesome take her and you wont regret it N DONT MISS CLASS! youll regret it
You will only pass if you learn the material on your own! Very hard exams, long hours of studying necessary. Be warned
Prof. Prasad is the best teacher for chemistry hands down! I learned so much, barely had to study for the final exam because I remembered most of everything she taught me. When studying for tests go through practice tests online for each chapter and you'll do fine and oh be neat when writing lab reports.
Best Chem teacher ever. Chemistry will always be a hard class but she makes it easier! Take her!!
Professor Prasad does an excellent job of making chemistry manageable. She breaks down each chapter into learning a new set of skills. If she teaches you how to solve a type of problem, take the time to become proficient because you will see it again on the tests. Final prep is easy if you know how to work all the problems from your chapter tests.
Great personality, did not like her teaching methods. Super unorganized in general. Took half+ semester for her to slow down her lectures enough to understand them. Learning on your own time is probable. She's fun, funny and helpful if you ask, but at least, it was not the class for me. Lots of exams, textbook kind of used, likes getting out early.
This professor is amazing! I had her for both CHM 1045 and CHM 1046.She will do everything possible to make sure you pass the class. However, Chemistry is a comprehensive topic so you have to STUDY, but remember to have fun!
Great teacher. Is energetic and will get you interested in the subject. Grade composed of 3-4 tests, final, and labs. So pay close attention to getting points wherever possible. Not an easy class, be prepared to study or else you will fail.
PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!! I'm an A student and got a C in this class. Her lectures are useless. Her exams are nothing like her lectures. She is nice, but doesn't teach well. There are other better professors. I took this as a hybrid class and wish I never did.
This professor was extremely tough. Her hybrid class is a self-taught class. She doesn't like to take the time to teach. Please stay away her exams are more than hard. I'm a bio major and this was tough
I took her for hybrid. She was very organized and had exams that didn't pertain to any of her lectures. I tried my hardest and i'm an A student. I got a C in her class. STAY away!
Super hard class, she doesn't make it easy at all. Doesn't elaborate enough. Teaches things to students as if they should already know the material mind you I had her for intro to chem. She's very sweet and a fun professor, but did not like her teaching skills one bit. Be prepared for long nights and teaching yourself the material.
She is an okay professor. I would not call her organized or prepared but her lectures are good. She does move fast and wont go over every thing unless you ask. She gives a lot of worksheets and lab reports. I think this class is passable but she does not try to make it easier. I wont recommend her unless you absolutely need to take her.
She was awesome, personality wise. Although she can be disorganized and doesn't update her grades quickly, she'll always let you know your standing if you ask. Same goes if you need help. I took her hybrid and any questions were answered happily in our lab.
Professor Prasad is a likeable person and does provide help if you don't understand a specific topic. However, it is best to ask for help in person. I personally took the hybrid version of this course and only saw her once a week for lab. There were times I would email about something and not get a response. Needs better organization skills.
Goes too fast, very nice person but very okish teacher. All the classes he talks about how she taught us in intro to chem, i never took her for God's sake dont bring ur old classes here. There is no way on earth u can get A in this class. Assignments, lab work and homework are all seprate and r due every class.
Amazing person, she loves to help and smiles all the time. The only thing is that her lectures are little harder than normal (u should expect that from science subject). She does go a little faster than one can catch up but if u r a very good student it shouldn't be hard for u to get a c. If u r an average student then u will get d
Amazingly fast teacher!! She raps faster than Eminem!!!
Happy teacher who loves students, she will try to help you but only problem is 175$ book is mandatory to pass the class. I took her class in fall, i am not sure if she changed the policy of book or not. Her classes are fun and nice, I would only suggest you to take her class if you absolutely have to.
She knows her subject, but she is not always able to explain it during the classwork. Labs are hard and sometimes she does not cover the material at all. It seems impossible fully complete ANY of her tests.
This professor is awesome! She really makes sure you know the subject. The class overall is tough and EVERYONE should expect that because it's chemistry. Also wouldn't recommend taking as a hybrid class because it is self taught since she's only there for labs but people seem to think she's supposed to lecture which is not the case. Take her class!
Professor Prasad is a very caring professor. This is Chemistry, so it is not an easy subject. She tries to break it down to make it easier to understand. You have to study, no way around that, but she gives you so much extra credit opportunities, that you can do well in her class and actually like it.
I took Professor Prasad for intro to Chem and I am now taking her for Gen Chem 1. She gives you so much extra credit opportunities and she is always willing to help. The subject itself was tough, but she made it possible, if not enjoyable to understand. I would take her again for Gen Chem 2!
this was my fisrt chemistry class and I was scared. The subject was tough, but Miss. Prasad broke it down to make it easy to understand. She gave so many extra credit opportunities and was very willing to help her students. She was very approachable. I will be taking her chem 1 class in the summer!
Ummm no extra credits.. just please urself a favor and dnt take her. If all the good teachers are filled then try to wait one semester. Her rating is supposed to be a 2 nt sure how iTs 3... she wants you to buy a lab note book and record everything you do in lab. She is a very tough grader. If this wasn't my last semester i would've dropped class
Move on dont take her. Too many assignments and expects your work to be perfect.
I don't know what ppl are talking about. She is a fair grader and she gives so much opportunities to pass her class. She's nice amd caring. I wpuld recommend her and I am taking her again for gen chem 2.
Take someone else. do your gpa a favor.
Okay, so if you're for a confusing, misleading, unclear professor then this is the right one for you. I passed with a c in her class. Tests aren't even really what he lectures about, she extremely unclear on what he expects from you and when things are due.
Do not take her! If chemistry is your thing don't take her! huge regret, she is a good person but I don't think she loves teaching anymore. Sometimes you feel like you are in church.
She is super funny, but I didn't like the way she teaches, she jokes too much. I failed her with almost everyone else in my class. She's really funny and will make you laugh every class, but you're probably going to fail this class
Do not take her! If chemistry is your thing don't take her! huge regret, she is a good person but I don't think she loves teaching and speaks fast.
Bad professor, will treat the class like 1st grader as mentioned by someone already. Easy class but was useless. She didn't go over the final exam, which shows that she is not caring. She gets annoying after a while. Make you erase the board when you come to class late. She is an average professor
She is a nice lady, she is approachable (her office hours), but do not enroll in her class unless you are very good at chemistry. She does not tell what will be on the test, and her tests are extremely difficult? it?s like you?ve never seen the problems before! Just horrible! She is also not good about responding to e-mails or ph
She makes you learn your information but you have to teach yourself. She will call on you in class. Quizzes each week (almost). Tests are around 50 questions and 5 in essay format in which she grades grammar. She plays favorites so make sure you get on her good side the first day of class. She is there to help after class, so go! Lots of studying!
Professor Prasad drilled the concepts into my brain and I thank her for that. I now have a better understand of chemistry due to the her ability to explain the concepts and by me doing my homework the class got easier.
Awesome professor!! Very understanding and clear of expectations. This is chemistry so you will need to do your part. As long as you put in the work and attend you will get an A.
Professor Prasad is an excellent instructor and a great person. She is always willing to help if you have any questions. Her grading is very clear and she allows MANY extra credit opportunities. The course material is not easy; however, she makes it understandable and clear. No one should fail her class. She is always willing to help.
Very caring and helpful. Gives you lots of opportunities to do well. Will be taking her again for gen chem 2.
I don't know what those people who are giving bad ratings are talking about. She's such a sweet lady who knows what she's teaching. There are so many extra credit opportunities in her class that it's almost impossible to not pass. I took her for Intro to Chem, currently taking her for Chem 1, and would take her for Chem 2, too.
This was a hybrid class, so I wasn't sure what to expect. There were online homeworks and some discussion boards. We went over the homework problems in lab the we did lab. Overall it was a good experience.
I struggled a little with the concepts, and this was a hybrid class. But I asked questions and Miss. Prasad was willing to explain. She took time out explain until I understood. She was very helpful and approachable.
For those who whine , complain, are lazy and make FALSE STATEMENTS ABOUT HER, stop it. She's a phenomenal, in depth and passionate professor. If you have a question, just ask, its that simple. She'll help you in anyway possible. This is college, you're no longer being spoon fed so suck it up,apply yourself and you just might learn something.
I had her for intro and gen chem and she's GREAT! Chemistry is a language within itself so be prepared to do the work but never fear asking for help! (By asking politely of course). She's more than willing to help you so long as you're willing to help yourself. Will DEFINITELY be taking her again!
Currently taking her for CHM 1045 and she has made this class awesome for me. I was TERRIFIED to take chemistry because I never did in high school so I have zero prior knowledge of it but she was an immense sigh of relief. Very approachable. Show up to class, be interactive, ask questions if you're confused and you're good to go.
Wish she taught more classes! Great professor who will take the time to help you with problems. Very approachable and offers a lot of extra credit. Hard to not pass! I'm confused by the negative reviews, they don't describe her class at all. :
I took this as a hybrid class. The only thing online was hw! She was very clear in her lectures and the exams were from the worksheets! Taking her for all my chem classes.
Great person. Great professor. Though the hours were sometimes long, she made it interesting. Lots of extra credit and worksheets to help you on the exam. Will take her again.
She's cool, but she doesn't take time to make something clear. Her tests are very hard and then there are weekly quizzes, when she teaches you a new topic, you better know it the next day or you're "DOOMED". Extra credit is not that great (can get you from C+ to B-)
I've had ms.P for Chem 2, She is a very smart women, but her lectures can be confusing to some students. She is not an easy teacher, but you do learn a lot in her classes. She provides a lot of extra credit that is VERY helpful to your grade. You have to be willing to study for her classes!
Professor Prasad is a great teacher! She creates worksheets that she goes over in class and tests are very similar! She will go over all problems step by step until you get it! Her explanations are clear and she offers extra credit on every exam!! If you study the worksheets you will pass with a good grade!!! I would take her again!!!
Very nice lady but very unorganized :) suuper sweet!! Take her if you like having a sweet teacher!! Do not take her if you like learning chemistry and getting the grade you deserve. underestimates all the students!!
LOL at all the comments about how horrible of a professor she is. So untrue! I used to hate chemistry, but have found great interest in it after taking Intro to Chem and Chem 1 with Prasad. I got an A in both classes! Yes, of course you have to study... after all, it is college.
She is a very nice professor. Explains most if the things. Wouldn't suggest her if better profs are available
She is a nice but makes you memorize lot of things.
Good teacher, but he takes forever to grade assignments. Very interesting class. Although her exams are difficult she is fair with grading. If you work hard and complete assignments you will do well in the class.
just do the study guide and you'll be fine. all the midterms are based on the study guide. also a simple class.
She is a good person but a bad teacher.
No point telling you how this class sucks it should be obvious looking at the rewiews- use the study guides, good luck on the lecture questions. start filling out the SG's before hand they take awhile. Final is cumulative and its all from the SG's, fill them out and keep them. kinda pissed that I couldnt get an A on any of the tests.
Helpful, pleasant. Sarcastic at times, but funny. Lots of extra credit, but you need to study. Gives worksheets which is basically what will be on the exam.
Do not take her! Her grading policy is too harsh and takes off 10 points for one small mistake. This class is definitely not for someone who wants an easy A. Post comments on her own rmp profile* Requires a 150$ textbook with online access code even when the class is not hybrid or online
Took Ms. Prasad for all 3 gen chem classes. She is nice, clear and very helpful. Sets students up for success, IF you do the work.
In my opinion, she is a good teacher. She is helpful and caring. She gives a lot of extra credit. You have to study, but you can do well in her class.
Prasad is awesome. Do the work, show up on time, wear appropriate lab attire. The basics. You just need to do the work and you'll pass without a problem. If you have questions she's fast to respond via email (mine was hybrid).
She's clear, and helpful. Had her for a hybrid class. Lots of extra credit.
Great person. Great teacher. Lots of extra credit. Be prepared, it is chemistry, after all.
First time ever rating a professor but Professor Prasad is definitely worth writing one for! I couldn't have imagined taking anyone else for this Summer A Intro to Chemistry course. Not only was she EXTREMELY caring, helpful, and ALWAYS available, she hands out extra credit and welcomes class participation. I will be take her for Chem1 as well :).
Very first time taking Chemistry and I happened to be the only male in my course, but I couldn't have asked for a more helpful or better professor! I plan on taking her for Chem1 and hopefully Chem2. Unfortunate that she doesn't teach Organic Chem though :.
I don't see how anyone could have anything negative to say about Professor Prasad. She is very fair, consistent, and positive! Combine this with her awesome teaching skills and you have someone that makes a SUPERB Chem teacher! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Ok, these comments are all over. The bottom line is that this is chemistry! you're gonna have to study. period! Prof. Prasad breaks it down and helps you in any way. Her exams are similar to her worksheets and she gives lots of extra credit. If you can get extra credit, from a C to a B, that's excellent, duh!!!
I had personal issues last semester and I was able to approach Professor Prasad with my dilemma. She was understanding and accomodating. You won't find that a big university.
Professor Prasad is great! I took her for Summer B 6 weeks. Of course a Chem class in 6 weeks is difficult, but Professor Prasad was COMPLETELY understanding to students. I approached about one of my test and she understood and accommodated a request made. NOW don't think you can make request just because. It must be fair to everyone. Amazing prof.
Professor Prasad is a very good teacher. She has worksheets online for each of the chapters that are very helpful and she will include many questions from the worksheets in the test. Her extra credit is extremely rewarding for people that study, too. It's chemistry, you can't expect not to study and pass but she will help out as much as possible.
She doesn't care how hard you try to improve your grade. She wants things done her way and wont give any extra credit for extra effort. Her extra credit is lengthy and pointless my grade didn't budge. I would never take her again. Such a waste of a semester. I did not learn anything because of the amount of work that was required just to keep up.
Chemistry is a hard subject. Professor Prasad is an engaging professor who makes the material easy to understand. You have to dedicate time to the class but she gives plenty of study guides to ensure you do well on exams! She's very friendly and approachable but of course she likes things done a certain way! If you do what she asks, you'll be fine!
Chemistry and science in general are pretty interesting to me, but this professor made me dislike this. Reads lecture word for word off of the powerpoint slide. Then she will do a practice problem and thats it. She doesnt know what is going on in lab, highly unprepared. second to last week of class and no grades inserted. I could have an A, or an F
Chemistry is a hard subject that reacquires a good teacher. taking this class with prasad was the worst decision for me, even though I like science and math, but not with her. she only read of the slides, very unorganized. Its the end of the semester and we only have couple of our grades in. Do not take her.
Took her as hybrid. I would recommend Prasad to everybody!!!! She gives so many chances to students who don't even deserve it as well as extra credit. Study from the practice problems that she gives you. Try to read the slides on your own before coming into class, it helps a lot! Yes chemistry can be difficult but you have to put some effort too.
I took this professor in Fall 2016 and I will tell you, she made this class MUCH harder than it actually is. In short (the bad): she was routinely late, disorganized, reads practically 100% from lecture slides that disorganized, would tell us to remember so many formulas that would later be on the test or not used at all and gives little direction.
