You have to be on time to all of his classes, actually early. The quizzes and tests are pretty hard some almost impossible. He does not review. Sometimes he has optional review. Accounting is a hard class as is, he makes it somewhat understandable. You HAVE to read the book to pass. Study a lot!

Straight forward about what he expects. attendance won't fail you but it will affect you negitively in respect to how he treats you. work hard and dont miss much class and you will get a fair shot at an A, whether or not you get it depends on your grades.

Teaching is a learning process and the more experience a professor has, the better he gets. Mr. G really made accounting easy and understandable. I honestly didn't understand 2401 at all but so far i'm doing very good in his class. He makes a very dry subject a lot less boring.

Not going to lie Amazing Instructor! Keeps you awake with random comments which in some way shape or form connect. Very helpful if asked and easy class if you just follow instructions. lol no texting. One my Best so Far :)

For teaching a class that is in the top 10 most boring classes, Mr G kept it simple and interesting. Great young teacher that does not have a accent (to the below poster) at all. Do the work and get the grade, this class is no joke though.

Mr. Gupta is a awesome teacher, not only is he a professional accountant he matches the studies with real world applications to help you better grasp the subject. Make no mistake for his class you WILL have to study and do your work. If your looking for an easy professor to give you an A this is not the teacher to take.

We just started, and I 'm not gonna lie, the guy is amazing! Learned all the students names on the first day (20 +). He is always well prepared and dresses very well. He will not be easy, but I will learn! I'll post more at the end of the semester.

Good teacher. You'll learn but have to work for your grade. I got a C b/c I didn't study as well as I should've. Being a boring subject, he does a good job keeping it interesting b/c he jokes around a lot. there is some hw not too much, few pop quizzes, 1 test is take home, and he did give us a curb. You can come early friday for extra help/review

I dreaded taking economics 2301 and 2302. Started this class with another instructor and dropped it. This professor made this class as interesting as economics could be. He is not an easy teacher but if you read the material you will do just fine. Do not be late and absolutely no texting. Study for the tests and ask questions about material!

as comment below,I took this class before with different instructor and ended up dropping. Very hard to find a good eco instructor at wharton but mr.gupta is the contrary.very helpful very clear, you do need to have good attendance though. i highly suggest taking eco 2301 with him!

I took him for Managerial Accounting. He is a great teacher and I learned a lot from him. The material isn't easy as is, so studying and outside of classroom time is definitely needed. I made an A in his class and because of it I've made A's in all of my accounting classes following this because I actually learned the material. Great teacher!

Great Professor! Tries to be funny and does his best to teach the subject at our level! Sometimes it looks like he's learning the material while he's teaching us and he tends to have a short tolerance rate. COME ON TIME!

He cracks corny but funny jokes and gives extra points on tests for showing up and other random things that go on! Would recommend him to anyone and I am takin him again for Micro!

A really good teacher! A high interest level in all of his students and their success even in spite of the students lack of interest in their own success. Be there on time, do not talk in class and pay attention or don't be there. A goo sense of humor and willingness to help everyone!

Mr. G is the best! He really cares about the sucess of his students but if you don't care, neither will he. Don't be late and don't disrupt class. And if you're ever late bring him Diet Coke in a can (not a bottle) and he will forgive you =)

Mr. Gupta is a really great professor. 20% hw, 10% attendance, 10% quizzes, and 60% test(4). Go to his class...not only for the attendance, but also for his lectures. He tries to keep it as interesting as possible and if you go, you don't need the book for the test at all because he covers everything on the test. Super nice guy and great class.

Enjoyable class. Aplia system is obnoxious, but when it comes to quizzes and tests, Mr. Gupta will prepare you well through his lectures. He goes slow enough for you to write an unnecessary amount of notes, which also makes the class easy to keep up with. Just show up (ON TIME), don't talk, and in two hours you'll be on your way.

Mr. Gupta is an excellent teacher. His course was a great foundation for when I transferred to a university with a pretty well-known business school. Suggestions: NEVER BE LATE, go to class, and put in the effort. It will be worth it.

Prof. Gupta is enthusiastic, energized and loves his job, and it shows in his classroom. He takes a rather boring class and turns into something you can deal with quite easily if you pay attention and do the work. I wish there were more teachers like him! I would not take anyone else for Eco.

Take this professor if you want to learn Econ and want to think like an economist. If you are lazy or dont like Econ this isnt the class for you.

I took Gupta for Micro- I'm not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, I think I got the grade I deserved. All anyone needs to do to pass in this class is attend because he does take attendance and do Aplia. Although personally i hated the deadlines they really helped. As for helpfulness he always insisted we come to office hours.

Helpful professor. I took him for Micro and Macro. He jokes around in class and can get mad if you aren't paying attention and talking. Aplia is a pain but you have to do it if you want to pass. His tests and quizzes aren't that hard if you pay attention in class, take notes, and maybe do the vocab for extra help. Overall Mr. G is a great prof.

Mr. Gupta is AMAZING! He should train other professors how to conduct a college class. He teaches the concepts and uses great examples. Mr. Gupta has high expectations for his college students, so going to class, taking notes, reading the chapters are just the basics he expects his students to follow. 350 limit otherwise I would go on about Mr. G!

Looking back on it, he was one of the best professors I have had. I liked everything about this class. Point based grading system, funny guy but extremely professional. If you want to learn ECON take this class. His examples are hard to forget.

If you expect to be spoon feed through this class then hes no the guy for you. He has expectations and they will be beneficial in the long run so use it as practice. As long as you show up on time and take good notes and hw its an easy class and examples are hard to forget. Bring him Diet Coke in a CAN on the first day and your golden.

Mr. Gupta has a great sense of humor, He holds high expectations.. Which is in direct correlation with a more difficult university. His lectures are basically him reading off a powerpoint, It's not super difficult, I missed 7 classes, & hardly studied & got a B+. Reminded me a bit of High school due to the structure & the way he treats you.

He's a really cool guy that likes to joke around and make the class interesting. He structures the course in a very organized manner and explains his expectations/ assignments in detail. Go over PPTs, read your book, do the blackboard hw on time, do the four daily grades (which are extremely easy), study hard for tests, and you will do fine.

Prof. Gupta is everything you think of when it comes to professors: humorous, passionate, fun, helpful, and a little bit quirky. But what sets him apart from your stereotypical prof. is that he is also humble; because of his constant motivation to improve his class, I've been able to collaborate with him and dig deeper into the subject. Took him for Fall 2015. Textbook is a plus, but mainly use ppt. His tests are a hit or miss, sometimes reviews are AMAZING and matches up. He does offer extra credit, and dont expect to leave early. Make sure you're on time to class. Overall, come to class, participate, do your work, and get the grade.

Took him online-in class hybird. Lessons in class., but HW and Exams online. There is a webcam required for the exams. Got an A in the class. He is funny, and nice. This is not a blow-off course however!! Best economics teacher at Wharton. 100X better than Udall who doesn't know how to use the email system.

Prof. Gupta is awesome. He is very passionate about Economics and wants you to succeed. Some online homework sections are not always on the tests but they still helped for the most part. He offers extra credit assignment as well as easy A assignments throughout the semester. Read and study before the test and you will do great in his class!

Loved his class!! Took him for both macro and micro you definitely have to study and go to class.. missing class will affect your grade. Homework is a lot but it isn't too bad. I would take him again if i could, he is funny and makes the class fun! You cant be on your phone at all and cant be late to class!

Mr. G is awesome. He is funny and is passionate about his job. Love his energy and his drive to want his students to succeed. Do NOT talk during class! PAY ATTENTION. Do the assignments and study. Not an easy A, but not terribly hard. Took him twice and was satisfied.

The one knock on Mr G is that his tests are difficult. However, he basically gives you bonus points just for showing up on time to take the test. He also drops the lowest test and gives a good amount of extra credit opportunities. So much extra credit that I could not show up to the final and still receive a B in his class. Funny dude, entertaining

He is able to articulate the many factors of economics in simple, very digestible terms. Additionally, he always tried to make class more entertaining and light-hearted by cracking jokes here and there. Reading the book outside of class as well as just showing up and paying attention should get you the A. Just make sure you don't show up late.

Great professor, he will remove homework questions that he feels are a waste of time or are too complicated. he cares about his students and tries to reach them on an individual level. he does expect a certain level of diligence and academic performance , but hey were all adults here.

Varun Gupta when I think of the name I think of a teacher that cares about his students. Gupta made class interesting because of the many real life examples he used in class. Gupta is the best teacher I have ever had. You will have to work hard in his class, but he is extremely fair. Your success is up to you but he will help you as much as he can.

Prof Gupta is a nice teacher to have. He is refreshing compared to the other business and math teachers. He does actually care about his student's grades and is friendly. However, do not be late and there is a lot of self-studying. If he sees that you are working hard and a good student he will be understanding and nice. Overall a good teacher!

Professor Gupta is a hilarious professor who makes his lectures fun and understandable despite the challenging content. He has a pretty strict attendance policy but gives you extra credit if you have less than 5 absences. There isn't a ton of homework, and only 1 short writing Assignment, and his exams are based on his lectures. I Would Recommend.
