Awesome Prof. Engaging, and insightful.
Excellent teacher, you learn alot, humorous and wants you to learn and is extremely helpful.
Wow, this teacher is excellent! I was never a business student but he made me interested in business by the way he teacher and his great classes that are useful. I really recomend him to anyone. His tests are good BUT you have to to know the text and that's an advise because if you are prepare/ read the text and understood the material ur good 2 go

His teaching style is different, and yes the class can be boring if you don't care for operations management, but the assignments are engaging and I definitely walked away having learned something, and that's not something I can say about all my classes. To do well on his exams, read the text. To do well on the projects, do what he tells you to.
He has been the best teacher I have ever had. I've never had a teacher work so hard to get you a good mark. Every test he has 15 questions worth of Bonus marks, among numerous other bonus mark assignments. His Bonus assigmnets are just used to help you out for future tests... So they're actually worth doing. An amazing guy! Liked him a lot!!!!!
Very detailed, lots of math class. Knwows what he is talking about, but tries to cover so much that it is not fun and learning limited. Would like more stuff outside of text, an real-world.
Best teacher out there for business, took 1110 with him (my first business course) and I absolutely love this subject now. HE will help u as long as u help yourself a little bit. I wish I could take all my busi courses with him. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!
He likes numbers!! If likes you, you will get high marks, if not, too bad! Quizes are hard, but they don't worth that much!
This guy is one of the WORST teachers at Kwantlen. He really has no clue how to help his students learn and he has a****ty, superior attitude when you ask him for help. He needs to learn how to teach.
He is one of the best profs I have ever had. All you have to do is attend class and participate in the lectures. He gives you a study guide for each quiz and midterm so there are no surprises when you go to write them. You actually learn in his class. If you make the effort, he will make the effort for you as well. It also helps if he likes yo
Terrible teacher. Has a bad attitude and a superiority complex. Doesn't explain the material properly and all the exams are straight from the textbook.
he is the worst teacher other so unaccomodating ... he doesnt understand that we pay for school it should be up to us whether or not you go to class he penalizes you for not going to class a complete JERK!
he has alot of knowledge but is not a very good teacher. he is strict and his tests and quizzes are extremely difficult. he likes giving everyone 10-15% bonus marks on tests but eveyone usualy fails them in the first place.
this guy seems to be nice at the start, but then he does a full 180!!! i managed to get an A in his class but he is very demanding in attendence, and arrogant!! he does not respect his students, or even hear them out. dont take any classes with him, he will bust ur balls.
great teacher, gives sample test questions before each quiz and test. You gotta actually go to class but he gives a ton of bonus marks on tests and at the end
Hard and helpful. If you want to learn things, join his class. The class is not easy.
He class is hard but if you ask for his help, he is really there to help you. Don't forget his class is hard, but he is a good guy.
Great Teacher! If you expect to get an A without going to the class and just reviewing the material before exam then GOOD LUCK with that. You have to put effort in this course, if you put the effort in then Vasile will put the effort and give you a good grade. Also make sure you participate in class from the beginning :)(on day 1 he notes it down)
He has high expectations of his students, but helps you when you seek it out. With this professor you get out what you put in.
Not a good teacher at all. He si arrogant and just expects people to know stuff. When you ask him for help or how to do something he just says "I am not going to do it for you". He gives 15% worth of bonus questions on every test because everyone does so bad, I think it's also so his class pass rate doesn't look bad and he doesn't get fired!!
eventhough his test are really hard he gives away so many easy marks. on the mid term exam he gave everybody an extra 8% incase he made a mistake. then later on in the course he gave you the oppertunity to earn another 13% which would be added onto the midterm mark.
He's very strict. If you take a class with him, follow all his instructions. It may seem overwhelming, because he has a lot of rules, but if you follow them, you'll do fine. If you like structure, you'll like this instructor. Course material is relatively simple for a 3rd year course, and the textbook was great.
Treats students like kindergarters-doesn't show anyone respect. Embarasses ppl for questions he feels are stupid. Tells students he can be "your best friend" or make the "term very difficult". I'm an A student & warn you not to take his class unless you are ok with being treated like a child. Uses the ppt deck from the book-u learn nothing new.
Loads of rules! He is an odd combination of strict and reasonable. Has high standards but if you want to learn some practical stuff about business and management, he is a goldmine of 'real life' information.
1% off/class missed. Condescending and very rude at times. Enjoys putting students on the spot and making them look inferior, in order to mask his terrible teaching ability. He has a lot of knowledge and could be a great teacher if he learned some better people skills. I learned because I studied, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to his class. AVOID.
So dull. The instructor is rude and unwilling to listen to studends. He is unclear...may be an english as a second language issue. The lectures are boring, the exams are long, and the class is just sad, sad, sad, sad.
Students who work hard, keep up with the readings and attend class will do well with Professor Zamfirescu. His exams are a bit lengthy, but not unfair.
This guy is brutal. His lectures are so boring & the material is so dry, that I feel like shooting myself in the face to get rid of the pain! This course could be good with the proper instructor, he just makes it super lame. Hard exams, HW assignments every week that u have to hand in personally(not online). very old school teacher. AVOID!
!WARNING! AVOID THIS TEACHER AT ALL COSTS!!! he has soo many rules, you will get a headache just listening to them. Not to mention a poor grade if you do not follow them exactly. His export plan project is unclear and your group will be confused throughout the entire semester. H/W assignments are useless, lectures are boring and exams are V.hard
this guy isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. if you put in the time you'll do fine, all the bad reviews are probably from students who try and coast by. you'll undoubtidly screw yourself over if you leave everythng till the last minute for this class. helpful teacher, i would recommend him so long as you're not an idiot
The truth is...I thought I was going to fail the course. The material being tested in the final was brutal! It's more like a memorizing training course than POM. Well, somehow I made it through. Good prof with a good heart. Just be prepared to study ALOT!
A good instructor with a very wide background of relevant information from his real world experiences. If you read his handouts and follow the instructions exactly then you can do well.
His notes are detailed but very unclear. Tests require more memorization than application. Seems to be more concerned with his assigned seating than the course material. Plays favorites and marks on a curve. Take a different prof...you'll learn more.
He is pretty legit. It was a tough class which I did feel he made more difficult than it had to be. But like many other comments he does give GENEROUS bonus marks. I ended up with a B and was quite surprised. BECAUSE of his bonus marks I will be taking him again (and because hes the only prof teaching the section). **Listen to his rules!**
Great prof, be prepared and pay attention. If you are not prepared for class or the exams, you are hooped, you CANNOT BS your way through. Personally he was one of the top 3 profs in this god forsaken program!!
I was forced to comment - good guy
This man is a walking paradox, at first he intimidates you with all his weird & STRICT rules but he is the most reasonable marker I have ever seen. If you're proactive TAKE if your lazy TAKE but make sure you have a strong group for the project
Prepare to work your butt off in his class. He is strict on rules and if you don't follow his "rules" you will fail. There are 3 pop quizes throughout the semester & 2 tests. His teaching style is read over the slides exactly, and if he doesn't know the question to an answer, he will get a student to "teach it". But we paid money for his knowledge
Worst teacher I have ever come across in 4 years at university, I suggest you stay away from him. Puts students down and has no passion for teaching, just wants the pay cheque. Avoid him, trust me.
Looks can be deceiving. He comes across as a very strict and sometimes rude person, but if you participate and do your readings, he is one of the nicest professors to speak with, and is very passionate about Ops Mgmt and business strategy. He is an easy marker on tests, and contrary to what people here say, he cares about his students success.
His tests are really tough so make sure you read/study his powerpoint slides and answer all the practice questions because it will help you A LOT. Also make sure to have a good group on the project as he is very tough in marking of the project. The Connect online quizzes will be only helpful in the final but make sure to answer them every week.
for Operations Management, he is the literally the WORST teacher. DO NOT TAKE HIM! Doesnt explain the project at all just gives the paper to read and will not answer any questions. makes you feel stupid if you ask a question. HORRIBLE TEACHER
Strict with everything, very clear and straight forward though. Need to put your time in, and participate in class. Loafers will get crushed and probably embarrassed.
Vasile is an objective person and expects people to participate in class. Dont miss any class because it will bring down your partcipation. He is very practicular on what he wants however he does explain it in detail. Quizes and Midterms are a bit tough but he does give some slack. Great teacher knows what hes talking about. I would take him again
absolutely miserable and negative. talks on and on with absolute drivel and expect to listen to him fir at least an hour when it could have been over and done with in 10 mins.
Study his slides only , averaging 65 slides per week. Quiz every week. Midterm exactly like quizzes. All tests and quizzes are short answer either theory or calculations. Be sure you can do each question under 12 min. Start on your termproject early. Straight fwd, just overwhelming is all. And he is extremely rude by snapping at ppl.
This professor is very knowledgeable on operations management, the exam questions require a bit of memorizing but they are not difficult.
this professor should A) cut his hair b) act professional c) start teaching d) all of the above
Very rude and intimidating. Class is full of useless rules. Makes me question my decision in choosing this school.
Vasile.. is different. I don't know whether it is the content or the teacher, but I find it hard to "get things" in his class. He has surprise quizzes worth 5% each. His tests are tough + specific and you REALLY have to know your stuff. He's not very helpful and will tell you to "read the instructions again". But, not a bad teacher overall..
For this semester, he changed his term project to a simulation game, however, he said he will never do it again because it was way too easy - so we got lucky! only had 1 quiz, 1 midterm and a 30% final overall was good, he has rules but i think he is a nice prof, might take him again study the powerpoints and practice the problems!!!
hard tests, but mostly rely on powerpoints as textbook is just ridiculously long with many theory concepts. tests are split with calculations and theory. lectures are boring, going through powerpoint slides, on avg maybe 60-70 slides for the three hours. makes a funny comment every now and then.
rude, and no help. He has favourites. study his powerpoint and quizzes, will be on exams. doable course just put in 2 hours a day. You can challenge your mark, he will grade you better if you can back yourself up.
Avoid if possible, but it's doable. Most ppl agree he's pretty rude, exams are okay just study well. Grades assignments and project unnecessarily hard, but grades exams reasonably. Took him for 2405 too and he was just as bad. Midterm 16% Final 30% Quiz 4% Project 22% Participation 13% 5 Assignments together 15%
Vasile has very long lectures and they tend to be very dry. He also has a lot of little requirements for every single submission which makes the simplest things a hassle. Also, he tends to get angered rather fast. However, he is a nice guy and is always willing to help as long as you put in the effort. Just dont get on his bad.
You will receive notice if you miss 3 classes. Very detail-oriented and his lectures are long and dry. Guideline on project is not clear which leads to lots of confusion. Avoid taking his class if possible.
There seems to be a double standard in regards in regards to what he expects and what he delivers. Use the words professional and professor loosely to describe.
Not a great professor. Doesn't help you much and basically expects you to know all the content on his ppt. Only good thing is that he does this "Major Takeaways" thing on his ppt, where you can use it as a guideline for studying tests. Group project is absolutely horrible with no good direction of how you should go about it. Try to avoid him.
THE WORST PERSON I'VE EVER MET. VERY UNREASONABLE.
If you skip class, he will assume you know nothing. You will "literally" fail the participation mark worth 15%. You must be some kind of loon if you like this guy. He is no help. He doesn't even like the school he works for. Yes, as per the previous comment, he does give out 0s if you don't meet the requirements.
very good lecturer, he makes sure that you understand the material but, if you are not into the subject then you get out as much as you put in
One of the best professors and one of the most interesting classes I have taken. Be prepared to work, but you get out exactly what you put in! Read the assigned readings before class and participate. Ask questions and you will get quick and thorough responses. Very fair, reasonable, and gives students the necessary tools to succeed in this course.
Hardest Teacher of BUSI at KPU
This class was pure torture. I've skipped a couple of classes for good reasons, and because of that he looked at me as a failure. I like most of my profs from KPU, but he is different. He's like the worst boss you'll ever have, and obviously the worst boss makes the most unmotivated employees. That's all. Depressing I say.
When you ask him questions during breaks, he won't answer them. If you ask him questions in class, he would make a completely different response (perhaps he just doesn't want to answer you properly or doesn't even know the answer himself). To make matters worse, he weighs the project marks heavily but his project guidelines are VERY unclear.
students must sign all paper.
Without a doubt this was the worst class I've ever taken at Kwantlen. I've never rated a professor before but felt the need to warn others of this prof. Do NOT take his class under any circumstance. Vasile made me question why I was even going to University. He is unrealistic, unreasonable and just plain cruel and rude. AVOID!
He just doesn't show respect to students. You can not doubt any of his opinions. He weighs the project marks heavily but his project guidelines are VERY unclear. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Strict but caring. Bad communicator but an industrious instructor. BUSI 2405 was one of the most difficult courses I have taken in university but I owe it to him all the experiences and knowledge I gained in class. If you go to his class expecting everything to go your way then you are wrong. He makes you work hard. All I can say is do your best!
You know how it feels when you're walking down the street and sometimes you feel there is a pebble in your shoe? As you continue to walk, the pebble just keeps bothering the living crap out of you. That's how Vasile is.
If you want to succeed in this course, stay clear of vasile! You need to be ready to work, put in long hours and sit through dry long lectures with minimal guidance. avoid at all costs!
Not as bad as he's made out to be. Group projects tend to be unclear but tests aren't that hard as long as you read the book and go through PowerPoints.
he nitpicks on really tiny details. for example, if you used 12pt font instead of 12.5pt. also, remember to attend every class because he keeps track of your attendance. I think he should just retire because he clearly doesn't enjoy teaching.
to all saying he is unclear or worst, you probably don't want to study or follow instructions. he can clearly see who is studying in this course. all you need to do is read the slides, ask him questions tons of questions and start on your project early. he would acknowledge your efforts. go to his office hours atleast every two weeks. I got A
Very unclear and distracted. Timelines for assignments are unreasonable (IMO) in the online format (available 5AM Tuesday, due 5PM Thursday) for students who work FT and go to school FT. I won't be taking another class with him. On my way to a B but this class has caused me more stress and frustrated than my 60hr/wk high-demand job.
Course load 8 connect quizes - 2 hours each - 12% 5 connect assignment - 1-2 hours each-15% 3 homework assignments -15% 2 contribution forum and 2 replies to contribution-8% 1 big report 20% Mid term -15% Final exam-15% Defence report and presentation Lectures notes and ppt Too much work to do. Will not reply to emails. Tough grader,
Tough marker, very lecture heavy with the PPT slides. Buying the textbook is almost useless. STUDY HIS SLIDES. If online class, listen to the recorded lectures on the slides. If in person, it's probably mandatory to attend class and listen to the lecture. He knows if you put work in and will not be lenient on lazy people.
Stay away from Vasile if you have a choice. the worst prof that I have ever had. Class is boring, and he has some his own prerequisites for the assignments which are stupid. Avoid him if you want success.
I took his class online, and felt 50-50 about it. He is hard in some ways and easy in others. His midterm and homework assignments are easy if you put the effort in meaning lot of hours. The group project was a lot of work but doable. His online quizzes some were easy, some were hard. Online assignments were mostly hard.
This guy will literally grill you during the final defence presentation. His final is literally impossible, no way to prepare as his slides are over a 100 each for 15 topics. His assignments are non related to text readings. Get ready to cry because i guarantee you any amount of money this guy is the HARDEST prof you would get for a second yrcourse
Decent prof, this course requires a lot of work. PICK A GOOD GROUP for project. His midterm and final are easy. He has before lecture quizzes, and after lecture assignments. The assignments are super hard. The quizzes are easy. He drops your worst quiz, worst assignment, and worst home assnmt and gives bonus % for additional quizzes. GET READY!!
According to Vasile owning a corner store is worse than being a manager... Last time I checked 7 eleven is a multi million dollar company. Extremely traditional teacher. Can't teach, doesnt relate to his students and doesnt care about the success of his students, could care less about you learning, rather just "covers his material" and leaves...
This is the best teacher but you will find lots of difficult things in his assignments. Ample number of quizzes and assignments. Get ready to study hard if you are going to take vasile
requires you to pre-read chapters for weekly quizzes on connect. if you wanna pass pls don't take this online or it will just get harder for you because you will have group mates that will drop the course without telling your group... during finals there is a 30 min final exam and a 30 min defense on your report.
This is probably the worst professor I've ever taken. Do whatever you can to avoid this teacher. He is the hardest marker, and when you ask for clarification he just says that his instructions are clear enough. He is not a fair grader either. It was a waste of time taking this course, better take it with a different teacher.
worst professor I've taken in my life, just do not try
Dont touch with a 10ft pole. Do a simulation (feels like youre playing a video game) for the group project, very unrelateable to real life and takes huge amounts of time. Feels rather useless to do and truly dont see the benefits. If you wish to to keep your GPA intact, or even pass for that matter, do not take.
He is professional and expects his students to be the professionals we are studying to be. He hates cheating and he is fair in his grading.
Course consists of online quizzes, take home assignments, and an online simulation. Quizzes you can only take once and have 2 hours to complete, ensure you allows yourself full 2 hours as there is often calculations and formulas are rarely on his slides (but can be found in the text.) Take home assignment instructions are pretty vague.
The worst prof of kpu. Individual assignments and quiz's every week. Each chapter containing 70-80 slides. So many instructions and he does not co-operate. He's rude. For our finals we had the entire syllabus and no cheat sheets allowed for formulas (tons of formulas). Please do not take this prof, im warning you all. - Coming from a "B" grade stu
I took the online course this semester and it was great. The simulation modules for the group project are really interesting, and he put video lectures online so you can watch whenever you want. Go to moodle and familiarize yourself with the course from the start it will be a lot easier. I really recommend the online course, he did a great job.
Just took BUSI2405 online with Vasile. He is a tough grader, and you will get marks deducted if you do not enter the formulas in Excel. However, he is usually prompt with his email responses and offers help. I have not personally met him but he seems like a nice and fair guy. just do your homework, put the work in and he will reward you for it.
Put away your phones/laptops. Be present in class. Vasile is one of the most analytical and strategically minded professors in the ENTR department. His ability to adapt during the COVID-19 pandemic was unfathomable compared to other profs. His course methodology and edict is what will save the ENTR program at KPU. He should teach more ENTR course.
He is a really good professor. Students who dont want to put an effort and are lazy are the ones that dont like him. He gives detailed instructions about everything! He notices the effort put in assignments and quizzes and will round off your grade for better!
Vasile is a good guy. His classes arent too difficult. You have to work hard, attend class, and read the textbook. That said, he treats his students poorly. He makes students feel stupid and has unreal expectations of them. He needs to understand that students are learning and when they dont know things, it needs to be a teaching opportunity.
