Has problem speaking properly. Takes materials from everywhere 'cept the textbk.
No usage of calculators during mid-terms and exams (??!!!)
He don't know how to teach!!!!!!
He should go to teach math instead of economics. His exams are hard, and notes not easy to understand... :(
bad lectures, hard tests. this guy does not know what he speaks.
I really enjoyed his class! lots of writings in class, but he writes all the class notes on the board so its really good for people who doesn't have good skill on note taking. Also he provides sample questions for midterms and final.
Honestly A very very good professor. His notes are amazing, covers everything from the book, his accent is no problem at all, but one thing...u have to work hard for your grades since its not an easy course. He gives test papers, sample papers for u to do...
Assumes you've already done economics before even though its eco for non majors.
VERY unclear about the basic concepts of the course and assumes that the students have an economics background. I don't think it has occured to him that this class is for NON-MAJORS!
A good class for an easy A. His accent isn't a problem, u don't need math skills. He gives u all the test answers and tells u all the test questions in class! Just take good notes and go to his office hours!
Nice professor. His class is an easy A as long as you put forth some effort.
Just come to class, take good notes and you'll do fine. Don't bother buying the text, he doesn't use it.
Hard on what he demands from students. HArd very Hard tests! thank twice before taking him i worked so hard and got just a C+
He's a bit of a mystery. He is reasonably easy. If you show improvement, he'll pretty much drop your first tests. But he's not always that clear. He's a very oral explainer, so if you don't learn orally, you have a problem. Taking notes can be important.
good professor, very friendly, very clear explaination. take his course
Nice prof, teaches quite thoroughly but hard tests and lots of notes in class (can be a good/ bad thing depend on how u look at it). Other than his scary stare which he does (focuses on individual ppl) during pauses from writing on the board, he's a good prof to go with for economics courses.
nice guy but very very serious. His tests are extremly difficult and he takes class right to the last second. make sure to buy two notebooks because one won't last due to amount of notes he gives. i would advise ppl to take another prof just to be on safe side.
the prof is very unclear !!!!!!the tests r too hard and questions r not comprehensible....(most of them r not sensible!!!!)
very smart and nice prof, tests are similar to the exercise questions which are on his website.
worst prof at york.. this man sucks
this is a really great professor.really intellegent and helpful. He actually cares about students and teaches in a way that encourages students to learn.I had no previous math background and i ended up with a good mark in his class. if you study his tests are very fair. gives alot of good detailed notes.
Good prof, Extremely clear and detailed notes. No suprises on tests. Very understaniding and approachable. Tries his best to put material in a simple way.
pretty good professor. detailed in his notes. well prepared.
He's alright. Exams aren't too difficult. The guy reminds me of Al Pacino in Scarface.. lol
He's ok, but be ready to be picked on in class! And make sure you don't make eye contact when he has his staring game going with you. Cause then your being asked a question.. lol.. Classy guy.. walks around a lot.. writes a lot of notes, so give your right hand plenty of rest fellas before u come, if you know what i mean ;) haha.. overall he gets B
Very disorganized and unfair tests. His lectures and practice exams had no relation to his final. I received an A in every economic course except for this class. He was also very unclear in his lectures and when we would ask him to repeat he wouldn't!
wow the final exam was hard. The overall course wasn't too bad, and the two tests were fair, but the final was soooo hard.
Amazing prof ,extremely helpful especially if you go to his office ours as he does not like email.Very old school teaching methods such pure notes taking and LOTS of exercise. If you like to be in class and be pushed all the time this is prof for you.Absolutely loved the class!!!!
He is not bad ,but he is unclear, doesn't like to be asked questions . His final was hard !
Not a recommended professor. He does not stick to the textbook, and instead adds tough complicated material into the course (which he cannot teach). No lecture slides or proper notes, (he uses this pen tablet in which he writes onto with really illegible handwriting, and does not give enough time to copy from the screen).
He's not bad, he writes a lot of notes but he's thorough and he explains things fairly well, although he can get a bit boring. His exams are tough but some of that may of been the nature of the material.
i think he changed his teaching approach. maybe he read comments here :) i literally suck at economics and i got B and didn't go to lectures at all. his midterm and final were very similar to myeconlab quizzes if not the same. do the quizzes, read the txbk and u'll ace it
great teacher. goes over concepts more than once and writes good notes. do read the readings prior to the lecture, since it makes it much easier for you to understand his notes. his examples are also very funny and easy to relate to the work. good professor, small accent but you get used to it. i recommend him to anyone for economics!
He is really tough and rather unfair! I think everyone just bombed the test. Why lie to the class and tell them something is on the test and then switch it up. It's like he doesn't enjoy what he is doing. He doesn't want you succeed. . Just because you are smart as I am sure. Mr. Bardis is doesn't mean you are a good teacher
hes a funny guy, i like himXD. his exam is ok. he will always tell u one problem which will be on exam. and the average of his mid-term is 75% lol
not bad lots of notes boring
I was so sorry that I didn't look at this comment, I can't believe this is the worst teacher I had in my life. He doesn't even know how to teach relate to textbook. I was doing almost all the exercises but no useful. Too many concept, terrible explanation. How does york hire this guy as a teacher, unbelievable. Take it, if you don't believe
Going to lecture is a must because he doesn't follow the textbook and no slides online. He does post past midterms and exams to study from. Very engaging lessons and will keep the energy level high. Taking good notes is the key to doing well in this course.
Lectures were presented very clearly using his tablet PC note taking tool (He writes the notes on spot during class). Make sure you attend his lectures and take notes as the majority of the exam questions came off those notes. The book (Varian) was not very helpful past the midterm and the studyguide is not needed at all.
He explains in detail and gives you an idea of what to expect in his midterm and final..class attendance is really important if you want to do well in his class.pay close attention to whatever hints he mentions in class.
The best prof i have ever had !
He killed my passion for economics. Our classes started out great; basic concepts of econ were tackled (Scarcity, Opportunity Cost, Supply Demand) But after the midterm, he jumped topics and went over them really fast. When asked for help, he would reply with: look over your notes. He's a good guy and can teach well, but can't explain his own notes
he is one of the best prof of York, I did use his leacture notes even with my Econ 3530 class
This was 2nd time with thid prof. There is no textbook so all lectures must be attended. Taking good notes is key bc will have questions that appear on tests. Provides several practice sets online. He is very passionate in his lectures
not bad ,hard final exam
I took econ 1540 and 2350 with him. Got an A+ in both. Go to his office hours, he is really nice. Do ALL the practice problems and past tests/exams on the moodle website. The midterm is WAY easier than the final so study HARD for the midterm (for the final as well but it is easier to get a good grade on the midterm). He adds +5 marks always.
he is so confusing, lots of notes in class. fair mid-term exam but a difficult final.
he is truely a great great teacher!!!!love him!!!!
Absolute OG. For the raters who say otherwise, must not like simply economics or doing practice problems. He basically gives you the tests before hand. Pay attention in class, which he makes easy, and you blessed.
Took ECON 2300 & 2350 and got an A and A+ respectively. Exams are based on his lectures and questions he puts online. He recommends a few books and I found it useful to refer to them in some cases where I didn't understand his notes. Midterms are easy. Finals can be brutal, some questions he doesn't teach. Strict ethic code during exams, watch out!
Hard Course
one of the best professors, funny at times but pretty strict. copying lecture notes are a must to get good grades. exams are fairly easy and similar to the practice sets he uploads
Best Professor at York. Dont Forget to Grab the first, if you do so ul love him.
He is the worst prof I have ever ever seen in YorkU. He never use the text at all. Even he got a fairly clear notes, but, his tests are extremely hard!!
omg.. don't ever take his course.. he pretends that he is really cool person, and he is very awful with teaching and the tests and quizzes are extremely hard. if you want to get at least B on any 4000 level econ course, DO NOT TAKE HIS COURSE
VERY COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL PROF! DO NOT TAKE HIS LECTURE! MAKE ME CRAZY!!!!THE EXAM AND QUIZ ARE EXTREMELY HARD.......
He is a real mathematician who makes sure that you learned the material. All the questions he asked at midterm were from the notes and practice questions posted on the course page. You need to attend his lectures if you want them to make sense to you, and take good notes cause gives hints of the questions he will ask. Practice mocks.
It is clear from the beginning he is VERY intelligent and knows his material. His notes are nice, but they do NOT display how he expects you to answer the midterm/final questions. Midterm/final questions are HARD!! I do not have a strong ECON background, but I enjoyed the content of the course, just not the testing.
He's very strict, very picky... not too friendly. But although his midterm was quite difficult, the final was very easy. His lectures are very detailed, so attendance is required. He doesn't really look open to questions, and quite a tough marker, but he curves massively. Bad midterm still led to an A+ final grade...
He teaches very good, strict, wants full attention on board....don't use any cellphone or laptop in his class...attend all his lectures....practice the questions he puts on moodle and u'll get an A+. he's just strict but teaches very nice...his formulas will get into ur mind forever....he makes the matrices really easy
whatever he discuss in lecture is harder than the book, whatever on his tests r harder than lectures. u need to work very hard to get a good grade. however, he gives out practice questions b4 tests, make sure u know how to do them, they can secure u a B grade.
Show up to class and pay attention. He goes over everything!
he is so cool you cannot ask him any question in class because he said it will break the thread... and even he is not willing to explain just one word's meaning in the test even if four students asked the same word. do NOT take his class
test is very hard, very low ???????grade.never follow test book. better not to take his course if you have other options.
I recommend not to take this course with him. He makes things harder. I prefer you dont take this course with him.
Most horrible prof ever. He yells at students, doesn't follow the textbook, his practice sets have a lot of mistakes, do not take any course with him or else you'll regret it.
TERRIBLE!!! He doesn't know how to teach. If anything, he confuses you more. I strongly recommend you not to take ANY course with him.
VERY CONFUSING; he is an alright professor for ECON1540 but DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR ECON2500 it'll be the worst mistake you ever make
hard exam but u will get good grade at the end. u can lean more than other section.
Have 2 attend every classes because he never ever use the textbook. Have to do the problem set before the midterm and exam
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF YOU WILL FEEL LIKE CRAP AND HE MARKS SOO HARD EVEN IF U HAVE THE ANSWER THERE HE WILL FIND SMALL ERRORS AND MARK THEM AS IF IT WAS THE WHOLE GRADE ... AVOID IS POSSIBLE
I knew he was trouble but I took his class for scheduling reasons. Bardis uses his own notes and doesn't teach or use the common economic notation that other professors use. He introduces a bunch of concepts that only confuses you more. He's very passionate however about Economics and his lectures are generally engaging. Wouldn't recommended!
Don't take this guy's class. He makes things confusing. instead of x1x2 he can use x and y. from begging to end he uses x1 x2. and his teaching doesn't make sense at all. not clear examples and definition
If you really want to learn something, he is the professor to take. There's a learning curve to adjust to his style of teaching, but if you're prepared to take some comments in stride, his lectures well worth the effort. Some people complaining here are just lazy and/or stupid, I didn't study much, but attended lectures and took notes religiously.
I have got just one word for you: RUN !!!!!!!!
If you come every class you will gain a lot because he writes many notes. He explains things clearly and gives many examples.I like the way he teaches but not everyone likes it especially for those who dont have strong calculus background.
The most confusing and the most arrogant teacher in York
Very knowledgeable and funny but he's not the best prof; a few reasons why. If you ask a question, he'll make you feel like an idiot. Some of the exam questions are brutal. You should go to office hours if you want a good grade, otherwise lectures are definitely not enough. His notes and handouts are difficult to understand.
He is the famous hard marker in school, BUT, if u want to learn something, he is definitely a great professor. He is hard, but great professor!
Great Prof. Attending lectures is a must. Well, attending and paying attention :p Take notes when he explains. Make sure you understand all graphs. Pay attention when he says "this question will be on your exam". Work regularly, do all the practice sets and tests he posts online. You'll do well! p.s:If it's a 3 hour lecture, rely on coffee &snacks!
I found ECON 2300 a challenging course in S1. Professor explains everything clearly. The first few lectures I had a hard time following, because he does not follow the book (DO NOT buy the textbook). Whatever he teaches is what you will see on the exams. Final covered only last few chapters. PRACTICE QUESTIONS are identical to exam questions.
I love his class, although many of my friends don't like his style. if you listen his class really carefully, you are gonna love his style
this guy is the best prof by far. gives many explanations for concepts and does numerous examples with the class. he rewrites his notes every class WITH you as you go along so it is crystal-clear. keeps the lectures entertaining and answers questions throughout. hes blunt, but respectful. possibly too much for the emotionally frail
Picks on people in the class and dodges questions about course administration but brings energy to the class and encourages you to work hard. Tests aren't that easy and don't miss out on class. His class notes are important and so is the practice material he's posted online.
I love math, but when I log into VB's class I don't want to try it anymore. As a teacher he is responsible, but believe me, as much as you can don't choose his courses. His test is looks like a kind of punishment, our class average only got 28/80 in econ1530, and he don't care how low our marks are.
Worst teacher I have ever had! ECON 1530 was supposed to be a bird course but this teacher made it so much harder than it should and tests are extremely difficult. Take this course with another prof, hands down.
The worst professor I have ever met! The tests contain only 10% of questions from the textbook and the remaining 90% is made up of his own questions. His tests are structured at a much higher difficulty than the other profs. He has an accent that is difficult to understand during lectures.
nice professor funny and interesting classes but when it comes to his exams is too hard specially finals i took 3810 and 1540 with him I don't recommend him even though I like his classes
YOU WILL LEARN NOTHING OUT OF THIS GUY BUT HAVING BAD MARKS. HIS LECTURES ARE THE WORST THING THAT CAN EVER HAPPEN TO YOU. HE MAKES THE NOTES THAT NO BODY CAN UNDERSTAND AND LECTURING SOMETHING THAT DO NOT MAKE SENSE AND EXAMS ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.
bad proff very hard exams and very tough grader dont take hime
Writing is very hard to read, messy, forces you to attend lectures, most difficult prof I've ever had :( He writes everything and uploads it online but it's sooooooooo hard to read. Practically impossible to pass without attending all the lectures. Pro: won't make you get a doctor's note for missed tests.
VERY tough grader, i forgot to put in -1 on a freaking 8 marks question and he removed 4 marks. all of my previous steps were right. i would not recommend my worst enemies taking a class with him.
Moves way too fast through the examples, encourages people to ask questions, but makes the person look like an idiot. the chalkboard looks like a jumbled mess. The practice questions are what you need to pass, since he doesn't follow the textbook. do yourself a favor and switch out at all costs. I got stuck in this course since I had to redo, karma
Not even sure how he got hired for teaching, i would rather talk to my dog about economics
Don't even think about taking him as it will jeopardize your GPA. He uses multiple graduate level textbooks for assigned readings but most of the material is from lecture notes and could even be the tiniest thing he mentioned in class; you're probably better off recording his lectures. His marking is extremely tough. TL;DR DONT TAKE HIM!
A great lecturer with interesting stories. More difficult material and grading than most economics professors, but also more in-depth learning.
Bardis is one of the best profs in the econ dept. He takes his time to explain the material and ensures students are Listening and taking notes. In class, he lets students know the relevant material for the exam and also posts all past exams and answers to aid you!
Awesome prof. He makes you work for your grade. Takes into consideration attendance and participation. Also available during office hours. May seem a bit scary at first but if you really put your energy to the course and do your self study then you should be more than ok. Know people who passed with an A. Final is Brutal. Mid terms are ok.
I took 1530 with him and generally I have to work for the grade A because tests (midterms and finals) are not easy and you do need to practice for it. He is a wonderful prof., care students if they are willing to learn. He is hilarious sometimes and materials are clear if you pay attention in class. Do practice exercises and you will pass with A.
By far the most confusing and messed up lectures i have attended. His teaching is all over the place. No clearity at all. Online notes are literally pathetic because you cant make sense of how he gets answers. Making the course hard when its supposed to be simple and to the point. I highly recommend not taking him for any course.#nobardispls
Just save your time and money never ever take ANY courses with him. It's a waste of your time and money.
He's a joke. DO NOT TAKE ANY COURSES WITH HIM.
Just a very confusing lecturer
hardest professor in econ at york, impossible to succeed. i didnt learn anything from him
Amazing professor. hard instructor but if you study hard and do the practice material you will succeed and truly learn the fundamental of economics. pretty funny guy and really engaged in his teaching.
Excellent professor, highly recommend taking econ with him if you want to cry and question your existence. By far the biggest mistake of my uni career. Avoid at all costs. Be warned now or prepare to suffer my friends!
Amazing professor, one of the best at York. Dont fall for the comments here and take his class, you wont regret it. Average student here and managed to get a decent grade
I'll give it to you straight. This guy is an amazing professor who cares about his students and economics. He talks A LOT, and in a 3-hour lecture I would regularly have over 10 pages of notes. Material is clearly explained, he gives lots of practice problems and tests straight from lectures. Pay attention, put your phone away and listen!
Needlessly complicates concepts. Notes are extremely disorganized, convoluted and a pain to read. His go-to reply is "It's in your notes." Test papers are returned blank without any comments or corrections. Doesn't realize the students' opinion of him. PSA: DO NOT TAKE HIS COURSES. You will suffer from his complete ineptitude at teaching.
He almost never uses the textbook so going to class to follow up is a must. He tests on the little things he mentions in class and is a tough grader. He assumes everybody works at the same pace and wrap things up very rapidly. Do not recommend. He can be rude and throw mean jokes sometimes.
Although his lecture is bit hard to understand, his office hours are very helpful. Attend classes, go to PASS sessions(I went to LISA and DIANA's session), if you work hard enough, you will pass this course. Professor is very funny and he respects every student.
Great professor overall. I dont know why he is receiving low ratings on this site. He is a very caring professor and teaches extremely well. He goes out of his way to try to help you understand the lecture. Almost no need of textbook at all. Study the online practice sets as much as possible because exams are pretty much the same.
Bardis is the worst professor I have seen at York University. He promises that he will finish early with the exception of taking no break during class, but still somehow teaches over 3 hours. His notes are extremely disorganized and does not help with the already hard public finance material. His explaining of material does not help. DONT TAKE HIM!
attend ALL his lectures, take down notes, practice the questions he posts in Moodle and you're guaranteed to pass. I did bad on 1530 with a bad prof but was able to catch up in 1540 and got an A
Very good. Best professor at york. Very excellent lectures. Do his practice and easy A+ for tests
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROF AT ALL COSTS. I have never in my life met a prof with such contempt for his students. He will go out of his way to disrespect you and humiliate you infront of the class if you ask questions during his confusing lectures. Tests never cover what was in the practice sheets (which he refuses to post answers for) STAY AWAY!!!!
He is amazing. Very respect students. Very nice lectures and practice
Do all his practice questions and easy A+
Really tries to be a nice guy but is supper extra hard for no reason. I strongly suggest do not take.
Honestly speaking, taking Bardis for econ 2350 was something different. He is an amazing professor and tries his best to help his students as much as possible. You the student however, need to also put in the effort. It is a lot of hard work, but it's worth it. Go to his office hours, do the practice many times. He is an excellent professor! 10/10
He is a very organized prof in terms of lecture notes, practice tests, however test are really hard for no reason.
Takes it to the extreme; way beyond the scope of the course. Clearly has a passion for economics, but makes it interfere with what should be taught within a class, in my opinion. Textbook isn't really followed. Good professor? Sure. But the course will be needlessly hard so I'd recommend choosing a different professor.
I share the same resentment as the previous comments reflect. Does he care? YES. But yes he makes classes needlessly hard for no reason. I wish he really relaxed on the unnecessarily hard things that are outside the syllabus. I would not suggest taking a class with him.
He have 3 test and one final exam, the test is really hard. 16 questions for one hour, it is so difficult for student to finish it. Although the professor is nice and friendly, I do not suggest to choose him.
Let me tell you how he does the course. Lengthy lengthy and lengthy lecture videos with irrelevant stuff and ugliest hand-drawing doodle graphs. For all practice set questions, he will tell you only one thing : refer to the video. And for any of the exam questions, he explains by " refer to the video" . Handouts are superly unorganized and chaos
Run The statistics he use in tests are terribly complex to caculate . I can not believe the multiple choice options can be so many in one question, it is hard to finish the test within such limited time. 6 of 16 questions he didnot teach and mention at all in class BUT HE TESTED US .REALLY? more than one correct answer in multiple choice too
He is the worst math professor ever, don't bother to watch his lectures you will not learn anything from it. His examples are vague and general however his tests are difficult and tricky.
Still dont unerstand why he made his exam this hard over half of the questions were not taught in class. were not able to finish the exam and he made it ridiculously hard. Never replied emails, also had more than one correct answer in his MCQ. purely waste of tuition.
This is the main professor teaching mathematics in Yorks economics department. However, Bardis is literally the worst professor you can ever try to learn anything from. His tests are extremely difficult and his response to a student asking a question is read the lecture notes. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COST.
Please attend office hours and solve ALL the practice sets and discuss with him to ensure a goof grade. This was a tough course.
Tough course but he is really great with response times and giving plenty of practice material to work with. Would take again.
Tests are based on whatever not in lecture notes. And practice sets are not closely relative to the test materials. AND we are watching the recording videos in last year and the given questions are on another level of difficulty. So why shall you teach ECON??????????
Tough Prof. My advice would be to work on the Problem sets. Heavy course. I would recommend someone better. Heavy tests and exam. He focused more on ECON 2300 than ECON 2350.
Good teacher but lack of resources(no textbook) along with difficult tests make him someone you need to avoid. He has good lecture notes but not enough to give you complete understanding of topics. He explains things well intuitively but you will not be able to answer his tests based on this. Stay AWAY. unless he changes the way he delivers 3530.
135mins for 25 questions, not multiple questions. I cannot believe that he will let me to write 10 questions with solving steps in 1 hour. Im not able to finish my final.
One midterm and a final, that's all you get. I always complain about professors that do this because students don't have a chance to get more marks and learn better during the course. Prof Bardis was hard to understand, went very quickly, and made lots of mistakes when he wrote the exams which can really make you stressed.
The hardest class I have taken so far. The class name is misleading, "Public Finance" , i thought i would be learning about policies and writing, but instead this was basically an extension of intermediate microeconomics. It was all math, little to no information about public finance, just contract curves and utility maximization. Would not reccomm
nice guy but tough grader
Prof. Bardis clearly knows his stuff but his teaching style and structure of the course are terrible and overcomplicated. The slides he posts on eClass mismatch what he teaches in class. He doesn't follow a textbook, you don't dare ask questions during lectures and when you go to his office hours, he will tell you that "we went over it during class
Very strict in class no pictures or any devices if he sees you with a laptop he'll tell you to put it away. His teaching and tests/exams aren't too difficult but notes are confusing and he doesn't use a textbook so you may end up teaching yourself. And he doesn't really answer questions clearly at all even if you go ask him during office hours.
Extremely unfair, not helpful at all. Studied really hard for no reason.
do not take if in 1540. is teaching second year calculus to my class, no use of electronics to take photos of what he writes, low speaker, extremely fast talking and writing.does not follow the textbook like he said he does. gives issues if asking about what he writes, studied for hours (55) just to it not workout. 2500 & 2300 are EXTREMELY easier.
awful prof. avoid at all cost
Professor Bardis does through a lot of material in class and refuses to answer questions (hence he talks fast and makes students feel bad when asking questions). He is unapproachable, his class notes are unreadable and skip over important information he just assumes we should know. He also doesn't believe in part marks.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think professor Bardis is a great lecturer. Maybe he goes too fast sometimes, but if you go to his office hours he explains things very clearly. Does have a bit of an attitude, which is annoying sometimes, but is also hilarious at other times.
Please do not take him. I dropped it first two weeks. He explains stuff well but the lectures are long and tiring plus he speaks in such a weird and unprofessional way. His handwriting is the worst and no electronics allowed what so ever. No phones, no laptops, AirPods or anything; you can't even talk to people in lectures or look at their notes.
I have no idea why this university still has this professor. Please stay away from this professor; he doesn't care about his students, he doesn't like answering questions, he is not clear about what he teaches, low voice and he does not follow the textbook. I'm having a lot of difficulties because of this professor.avoid him at all cost
he is a good prof, full of passion and humorous when he teaches, but his material is difficult
STAY AWAY FROM HIM
Truly an amazing professor if you go to lectures and do the work. He is very old school but that is for the best. If you show that you care about having a good grade, he will make sure you do. I was failing before the final exam and ended up with an A. Be ready to take hand written notes, he will allow computers but I suggest sticking to paper.
I took him last semester and got an A+. Just finishes his practice sets and you can get an easy A because his exams are vey similar to practice sets.
Pray enough people in your class fails so you get curved up. Class averages before rounding up are usually in the 30%'s. Great guy though, very interactive lectures you won't fall asleep to
prof. Bardis is a great teacher. he explains all the concepts very well. just listen to him and don't take your eye off the board. his practice sets are very similar to the exams. he's very helpful during office hours too. just listen to him and make sure you take notes.
If you study harder, he is not a bad professor.
His lecture is decent, but the course materials are very heavy. This makes the test really long. Test questions are very similar to his practice sets and his class examples. If you put a lot of hard work in reviewing every single topic, you will be fine in the exam.
Professor Bardis has a unique teaching style - old school but effective if you engage. Use unstuck ai and the free textbook to supplement lectures. Tough grader but worth the effort.
Great guy, very helpful during office hours, exams are similar to practice tests, no textbook needed.
very awful
Amazing prof, totally respect him and his class rules. just listen and take notes you will be doing well and getting a great grade.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS. He does not allow any electronics in class and will yell at students in front of everyone like they're children. If you email or ask questions, he's rude and condescending. On top of that, he's a very tough grader. There are many other issues I could list, but sadly there's a word limit.
Get ready to go to class every time, otherwise you won't be able to understand the math, because he does not post lecture notes or any explanation notes besides the problem sets, and doesn't even mention what to study for each test.
Worst professor I have ever had, was the main reason I dropped out my program and why half the class dropped his course. I could go on and on about how horrible his courses are. Was hoping I would crash on the way to class to avoid his class. Never ever again will I take his courses.
I don't even know why so many people have him rated so low. He doesn't allow phones at all during class but that's for your own good anyways. Make sure you write down EVERYTHING because they will always come up on the tests/exam. His class was very chill and he does try to make it engaging. Practice and don't take your eyes off the board.
He's a good professor. He's really strict and doesn't let you use your laptop or phone during class, but honestly, that's a good thing. All of his tests are based on the problem sets. You must pay attention in the lectures, but he does explain the concepts very thoroughly, and he's the reason I actually like math now. Also, he gives a 10% curve up.
