You have to work really hard (obviously, it's chemistry) but Dr. Sharma is super willing to help you with any questions you have. She also bends over backwards to help out the class as a whole when we all score poorly on an assignment. Very thorough but also very fair and empathetic.

Love this prof!She loves what she does and makes class fun! i enjoyed going! and tests while they were a little challenging were worth it! wish all prof were like her. She was so good with responses even over email to make sure we receive information in a timely manner. reviews before tests were extrmely helpful. if you want to learn, take her!

took 6-weeks chemistry -1. loved it. very crisp and speaks clearly, no mumbling. even gave 2 bonus quizzes. expectations were clear. pay attention to the lecture and you will rock the quizzes and exams. am taking chem 2 and orgo with her!

Those that complain about her not helping is simply because they want someone to tell them step by step what to do. She helps by forcing you to learn and use your brain to think and remember the stuff. I had her for Chem 1 and 2 and got a C on both. She gives extra quizzes and her labs although hard, help a lot on your final grade.

Dr. Sharma is a very clear and fair teacher. Yes her quizzes and tests are hard, but as we all know, chemistry is a hard subject and it is not going to get easy from one teacher to the next. If you want to learn and do well on MCAT and PCAT, she is definitely the teacher to take. I promise you, you will learn a lot.

She is the best professor for Organic Chemistry. I highly recommend her. She's very helpful and understanding. She teach the material very well and explains everything very clear. Do all the review for exam and homework, and you'll get good grade. It isn't hard to get good grade in this class. Just do everything she tells you.

As far as an easy option for Org Chem, she is it. She makes it easy to earn a grade, as long as your willing to put in the work. Doesn't really even use a textbook or online hw or anything, but there are tons of resources avaliable on blackboard. She's not an excellent lecturer but she lets you know basically everything you're expected to know

i took her for 2210 and then decided to go with her for 2211 also. I like the discussion style not lecture -exam-lecture-exam. She will make you work though, but lots of opportunities for points are there, you will learn plus she is very helpful in going over material, extra help if something didn't click. I liked her!

I LOVED Dr. Sharma. I used to leave her classes excited to learn. Grade = labs, 3 tests, final, ~15 quizzes, and a project. Her lecture was GREAT, and her speaking voice is CLEAR! I earned an A in orgo 1, but had a bad semester for Orgo 2 and got a C. She is still one of my LoRs. Definitely prepares you for tests! I scored a 96 on my first PCAT.

i took hybrid course for GenChem-I.I have taken online courses before and you need to be very disciplined. I like the super organised structure with 'everything' indexed so the student knows what is at stake. If you are organised and pace with the powerpoints,watch videos work on the problems/online homework, you should do well.

Took chm2211 in the summer. Some comments some students make gets me upset. Seriously People! Do the work. Follow directions, as for as her screaming to students not true. It's a chemistry lab! Follow directions it's a hazard if you don't. Yes, she will call you out for everyone's safety if you don't But she doesn't scream she's very respectful.

I took hybrid 1045 on Friday nights and I liked it. really good usage of time , including some lecture material in addition to the lab so the class gets a direction in what to expect in the coming week. Overall good learning experience and time management. Really liked videos and resources, screencasts, reviews. I would recommend it.

I've taken Dr.Sharma over 4 sems and she has definitely been one of the best and most knowledgeable professors Ive had at VC. She teaches a "difficult" subject but appreciates hard work, so if youre willing to put in the effort your grade will reflect on that. This is one of those classes I can look back on and say I really got something out of it.

Dr.Sharma is an awesome professor for org chem. She teaches the subject clearly, gives practice problems,relates to MCAT/PCAT and provides resources on Blackboard. I like the hybrid format. I could play the lectures back and forth multiple times. Solves the problems in powerpoint. You have to study the tools she provides. Gave a mid-term grade on blackboard which I had not received in ANY of ,my previous courses ever. Returns all graded material so I can track my progress. I like the tools and learnt well.

I took her 3 semesters in a row for Chem. I credit her with my good MCAT score which got me into medical school. She is not an easy teacher, but she will teach you what you need to rock you MCATPCAT etc... I highly recommend her for those looking for a scientificmedical career. I have had professors just give a final score in labs and as she said day 1 of class, "if you have an aversion to red, please let me know", she gives good feedback. She writes cursive though so you may have to ask. She doesn't say 'organic is easy' but that 'it is doable', that kept me going somehow. If you ask for help, she will help you for sure

I am not sure what the person before is talking about. We received midterm grades and before final grades. Also, if you get it back in a week, that to me is good speed. We got all tests back with 2-4 days. I liked the opportunities since they pulled me from C to B in a difficult course.

Sharma teaches the subject well. Focus on what she writes on the board& jot down what she says. Exams are like 12-15 pages long but don't let that scare u, she has a variety of questions like multiple choice, short answer, matching etc., so u have a chance. Harsh lab grader, gives sloppy feedback so make sure you get wher to correct future errors.

Dr. Sharma is an EXCELLENT professor and extremely knowledgeable. However, she is not clear on instructions for assignments, and that will drive every student insane. She thinks that student don't have other classes, work, or a life. She gives a LOT, I mean a LOT of work. If you want to get a A, be prepared to kill yourself for that semester.

Participation in class matters. Not only would you learn but organic chem will become second nature. So do it! Do everything she tells you and you'll come out in flying colors. the person before me must be a slacker. a hybrid course requires you to take charge and do homework but you do it in your own pace and in your own time. As long as you finish it and those points add up as is . I enjoyed going to this class and I learnt a lot studying from very structured recorded powerpoint lectures

OWL often consists of dozens of repetitions of the exact same calculation with slightly different numbers. In person and in the lab, however, her class is fantastic.

Orgo is a class that builds on itself. If you miss the basic concepts you'll definitely be lost moving forward. Dr. Sharma makes sure everyone is on the same page before moving forward. I haven't had a more caring professor in my lifetime who is compassionate and would work with you. When she says it is hard prepare ahead, she means it ... no gimmicks. I took orgo 1 & 2 with sharma, and orgo 1 was significantly easier. Orgo 2 was the hardest class I have taken. She does not hold your hand. She expects you to know fundamentals of chemistry so know your stuff. Participate and ask questions. She is super informative. Loads of practice online. So PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!

I wouldnt recommend taking this with a lot on your plate already! She gives A LOT of homework and her tests are intense 2 hour long with 10 questions front and back. She curves for participation so GO TO THE BOARD!

Wanna pass? Do prelab (Chegg), show up to lab (sometimes long, but easy), do post lab (Chegg), MAKE SURE you do online Hmwk and smartbook asap! Don't be late. 1% off each day late. (Doing those 2 alone will get you a C) I had a D average on all 4 exams and the final, passed with a C+ because of those. Super nice lady, has an accent, funny and kind.

Nkce lady, fair. Haven't taken chemistry since high school (15 years ago), but luckily, and I mean this, the long homework assignments I always b*tched about (2-3 weekly) helped me pass with a C+!! Failed exams 2, 3, 4, and the final, got a C on the first and passed. Quizzes helped too. Study guides given for exams, verbatim exam ?s as the quizzes!

I took Dr. Sharma for both organic chemistry I and II. It changed me as a person because of how challenged I was by the material and the demands of this class. I earned an A in her class so here's my advice - do all the practices she gives on Canvas and find more practices online by Googling. Dr. Sharma is the best organic professor you can take, her tests are challenging but if you study all her wiki assignments, quizzes, videos, and all the extra other pdfs she gives then you should be set for her test. PARTICIPATION MATTERS in Dr. Sharma's class, go up to the board whether you think you are wrong or right, JUST TRY and she'll help you understand where you went wrong and help you solve it, also helps that at the end of the semester when she goes to finish our grades the more you participated during class you get a slight curve.

Org Chem, in general, is not easy, but she works hard for her students & expects us to do the same. Her class consists of test, quiz, drill & assignments. Since most of the students taking this class are going for a professional degree, she customized her class in such a way that we get to learn time management & investment along with Org Chem.

Dr. Sharma helps you make study tools for her class which you use in all but one exam. She gives the resources exactly how she wants it and all you have to do is follow it. Exams are a reflections of the reviews. Do her review module to the T, solve wiki assignment and you are set. She trains you to do well in not just her exam but even later.

The professor helps a lot, answers on Remind text if you ask. All assignments have kept me engaged with the material. Orgo is hard but she breaks it down to smaller assessments so your grade is not decided by one exam only. Attendance in Zoom is not mandatory if you do assignments.

Yes she does give a lot of assignments but coming from someone who got an A, took another class during summer and worked full time: you can do it! Dr. Sharma is very good at training students who are aiming for medical, pharmacy, and dental schools. She gave me a lot of chances to practice in class and at home. After two years of taking her class, I still remember a lot of things from her class, and I have a good high score on the organic chemistry section of the DAT (dental admission test)

Took for orgo 1+2 and couldn't have been happier. If u r planning to go to grad school she is def the prof to take. Her lectures r very thorough + the info will be drilled in ur mind. By no means is it an easy class, u have to earn ur grade but thats for a good reason. It allowed me to study for the DAT efficiently + receive a score in the top 98%

I took both Organic Chemistry I and II with Dr. Sharma and I would do so again. Since class sizes are small, the professor dedicates time to each student and provides good feedback during optional weekly meetings. I was not expecting a B in this class because well it is organic chemistry and was my first experience. The professor helped me with questions. We did a lot of problem solving on the board and she answered ALL questions the class being mixed mode. I think she rewarded participation in class. .

Very knowledgeable and patient. Willing to work with you through muddy points until you grasp understanding. Likes to go over problem questions while in class, appreciates student participation. Take good lecture notes, keep up with reaction wheels and engage in class activities, communicate with her any delays. You should be good in good hands.

If you're not confident in your chem skills, make sure to take this course alone cause there is tons of concepts that you will need to learn. Professor Sharma may be intimidating, but she understands the difficulty of the course and will help you if you reach out. Daily studying is needed because of all the reactions you need to understand.

Course was online. Lectures have pop quiz , so you get credit for completing. Online ALEKS homework had its own book. Quizzes were online and some you have to write. I like the video format-I learnt most then and got good feedback. I went to a couple of office hours and received help promptly. Quick turn around on emails. Not easy but doable.

professor is tough but accessible, subject is tough and she doesn't sugar coat it. Put in the effort and she will take your through. MUltiple types of assignments not the regular quiz and exam , about 20-30 questions for homework. It helped me. there were worksheets I would solve and send and get a response in 30 minutes.

Chemistry is a complex subject but Dr. Sharma does a great job explaining the muddy points. She's a tough greater, but if you take her feedback and apply it to your work it will pay off. Her lectures are prerecorded and then reviewed in class. Participation matters a lot so answering questions during lecture can get you extra credit points!
