If you need to take remedial math take from her! She is a very nice woman, and takes time to explain every question presented by the class. I highly reccomend her!
Obnoxious, can't understand her. She has no good teaching methods. AVOID!!!!!

she goes over everything you want her to in class, and her test are surprisingly easy
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! This professor is horrible at teaching, is unwilling to help and has a bad reputation of not showing up for meetings with students.
A really nice lady, willing to help and answer questions. Kind of hard to understand, but you get used to it. If the class does bad on a quiz, she'll give an extra credit assignment. Overall a pretty easy class, although she moves fast at times.
She is a really nice lady, doesn't teach very well just goes over the definition. But it is pretty easy to get a good grade because this sememster we got 50 extra credit points.
Very nice woman. Could be difficult to understand. Luckily I pretty much knew the topics of the course already so I didn't have to rely on learning from her.
because of a fairly decent teacher and easy text, this class was a piece of cake and should definitely be considered for those of you considering the math requirement

Difficult class made harder by her accent and (seemingly) negative bias toward our class. When we did poorly, she questioned our intelligence, when it was really that we couldn't understand why she was writing/saying.
Veena Chadha is amazing. Her tests are fair (and her grading scale is easy) and she will always help you if you need it.
Extremely helpful and very willing to explain and reexplain concepts you don't understand. She was able to use real life examples to explain math principles. If this course is offered in the summer or winterim take and you need to fulfill your math requirement, take this course.
Professor Chadha is a nice woman and tries hard to explain things to us, in a way we can understand. Sometimes though, its hard to understand her. She is fair and admits to mistakes, and if you want help you can go to her office. I would take her class again, if I could choose all over again.
I had no problem understanding her. Her English is just fine. Also, she explains things thoroughly and is a very helpful pleasant woman. If you need to fufill your math requirement and don't like math, this is a great class to take.
The easiest class I have ever taken in my life. All of the math taught in this class is nothing new. All of the material I had already known from high school. Easy A!!
Shes so nice and very thourough.shes a little bit difficult to understand and sometimes the methods are different then I've learned, but overall shes pretty cool.
Takes the time to explain the material, and easy labs. She doesn't use the Maple program often, so not too good for those going on to higer math. I'd recommend going to class to ask questions.
I think she tries hard, but it just seemed like she made Calc much harder than it really is. Only one person in the class thought she was a good prof.
How can someone so stupid get a job teaching calculus at a university?
She is completly ridiculous!! She is no help and makes mistakes alll the time!
She is a bad Calc. Teacher. Really bad, no one knows what they are doing. I took the class in high school, so I knew what I was doing, but she doesn't know how to explain anything. She is NO help either, when you ask a ? she says go to the Math Lab - what a joke, plus she is VERY hard to understand, she has an accent!! Take a diff. prof.
Although this teacher has a good understanding of the material herself, she lacks the ability to communicate it to the class. We have a test every other day, on stuff she didn't teach us. I learned everything from the book & could have skipped every class if she wouldn't have graded on attendance. Horrible teacher, find a diff. professor..TRUST ME
The worst proffesor ever. I can't even believe it. There are 2 grades in the class A and F. If you had prior calc experience you might do ok. But if you took pre calc or trig your pretty much screwed. She is the worst professor I have ever had. For the first time in my life I have dreaded going to a class. This is the class
This prof is absolutely the worst I have ever taken a class with. She does know the material but cannot teach it. She just follows from the book. I found that she has you do the even problems in the book and the quiz and test questions are actually the odd problems. If you have not taken Calc previously you have no chance with her!
She means well but doesnt let students understands things for themselves, she just flys through the material and then wonders why the class did so bad on the tests. Not reliable for help over emails and during office hours. lots of grading errors on tests so CHECK them over yourself!
wow, all i have to say is that she sucks at teaching, good thing i knew most of the material and that math is easy for me otherwise i would have been screwed
wow ...All I have to say is Bad. Don't take her! find another professor to take the corse with. if math is unlear subject for you then go somewhere else. she is tenure so no complaining will help the situation.
Can't explain anything very well, at least to me. If you don't like math she really can't help connect anything for you, incredibly incredibly frustrating
She is a very VERY difficult professor to follow. Sometimes she rushes and sometimes she is so slow it takes her an entire class period to do one problem (when it should only take 5 minutes). The material itself is easy, but if you need help understanding how to do things I suggest taking another professor.
bad bad bad...your intelligence goes backwards in this class!
She is hard to understand, and has bad handwriting. She would show up 3 to 5 minutes late to class daily. She also claimed that questions on tests were from the homework, but she asigned all the even number questions and then would put odd number questions on the tests.
Oh my god...get out, get out while you can. Unless you are a math wizard with a lot of patience and a high tolerance for annoying tendencies, you need to find another prof (she calls letters "alphabets" and packets "packages"). She will not be able to answer your questions or make problems easier to understand.
Not a bad class. She takes a lot of time to explain things in class, sometimes it seems like too much time! Her accent is very clear, you shouldn't have any trouble understanding her. If math is not your forte, I definitely reccomend taking her Finite Mathmatics class.
Can anyone understand what she's saying? Treats the class like second graders.
if you have trouble understanding her you're not listening or you're just pissed cause you can't put in the limited effort to pass this easy class. this is THE math class for people who suck at math and need to get it finished.
As long as you put in the effort, and actually put in your attention and attendance this class should be a breeze. And yes she has an accent, but come on, it's no harder to understand than anyone else these days. A really nice professor and makes herself available to help out if you have any questions.
Really easy grading scale. I didn't realize it unit the end of the course and saw my grade. Can be difficult to understand but she is extremely boring. Extremely. I played on my calculator all hour and got a C+ and i suck at math.
She was a boring prof. Hard to understand. Not a good teacher, really. I've seen better. I wouldn't recommend her.
Chadha seems like a nice enough lady, but I was not a fan of her as a prof. Sometimes her grading is messed up and you get docked for ridiculous things. Messes up often in lecture and needs to be corrected. I never did the homework, only reviewed right before the tests and I tended to do fine. Offers lots of extra credit.
Easy enough math course...I would liken it to an advanced high school algebra. I'm sure she's nice, but I just didn't really like her as a prof. Hard to understand her lectures and sometimes I questioned whether she knew what she was talking about. The class itself probably isn't her concentration in math, though. She's real nice though.
The class is generally pretty easy, but i had a hard time paying attention because she was so painfully boring, and half the time i could not tell where she was going with things. She messed up a lot on example problems, which just confused me more. I had my friend teach me the material and did a much better and faster job than she did.
Not very helpful on assignments. Can't ask her how to do something because she'll just refer you back to the book. You have to try it and then ask her if it's the right answer. Easy class, easy tests, just try to find someone in the class you can work.
I loved Dr. Chada. She was very clear with her notes, and laid them out very orderly. She has weekly worksheets that are done in groups which is extremely helpful. As long as you take good notes, and study the worksheets you will do well in her class. She makes sure that you understand everything that is taught.
She is a total mess. Disorganized, error-bound, CANNOT communicate and thus CANNOT teach, CANNOT explain her answer, obfuscating. You will end up teaching yourself the material from the poor textbook. It is a frustrating, WASTE of your time.

She knows what she is talking about but can sometimes have a hard time teaching it to the class. Likes to talk to the board mostly. Tests were not too bad once she realized people weren't doing too well on them. Some questions were right from the study guide. And if the class as a whole sucks, she is much more willing to offer bonus problems.
She knows what she is talking about but that is the only person in the room. She can't teach and she doesnt offer any help. She gets irritated when you make her help you with a specific problem. Math was my favorite subject and always got A's but as of now I am getting a C only because I am teaching myself. DON'T TAKE HER.
She is by far, the best math professor I have ever had. It's not always very interesting, but she makes it fun. She's a great person and very helpful if you have questions. Note cards on all the tests, never hand in homework once, and worksheets with partners once a week. Overall, she's a great math instructor.
She made the class really easy. She explained things really clearly. The use of the note cards made the tests really simple. The final was pretty short and easy, too. Take her class for an easy math credit!
I love this woman. She is hard to understand, yes. And her classes aren't the most interesting thing, but she is so willing to help. Not to mention the class is pretty easy. Lots of worksheets in class that you do in groups. Not hard to succeed in this class with a little work.
DONT take her!!! you cant understand anything she is saying. she is never prepared. she doesnt even know how to do some of the problems and she teaches differently from the textbook. She is horrible!
second time ive had her and it was still bad. you end up teaching yourself. attendance is mandatory, which sucks because it's a pointless class to go to. not much homework, but still a waste of time.
This class was pretty much a breeze. Grades are based on group worksheets and 4 tests. As long as you show up and pick good people to be in your group your good to go.
If you struggle with Math, I wouldn't recommend her. Her accent is challenging and her lectures aren't always clear. So be prepared to spend time teaching yourself from the book. Good news, though, is that majority of your grade comes from weekly worksheets done in groups. :)
She is very nice, but sometimes I found her accent put me to sleep a bit. The class was very easy, but she did take attendance every day.
Class was very easy. Her accent is hard to understand, and very lulling. She is not clear in her examples or lectures, and often provides wring answers and is corrected by the class. Take her if you are a good math student just looking to pass the class for the easy credit, otherwise don't.
She is a nice person but her teaching skills are for sure not good. If you havent taken a calc prior to this, you wont understand somethings that she talks about. She skips steps when explaining problems and sometimes messes up on simple math. If you have her good luck!
Math has never come easy for me and she doesn't explain it correctly.I can understand her, but having to be there is BS. NOTE, YOU WILL BE TEACHING YOURSELF and it is not easy math. I had to teach myself through the book and WE ARE PAYING HER. Very upset with this prof! Don't ask questions, she won't help!!!
She was awsome. She is easy to talk to and very clear. She is able to integrate everyday examples. She is very caring and I loved having her as my teacher.
Super easy class. I didn't open my textbook once, my calculator died for the final AND I forgot my formulas sheet and I still got an A. She's a little difficult to understand at times and she was often corrected by people in class, but all in all, she wasn't a bad professor at all.
She is hard to understand and she doesn't explain things the best she could.
For her intro to math courses you MUST have a background in math, because she is so hard to understand that teaching yourself and remembering what you did in high school is vital.
I feel that she is a better lower level math professor. As a Calculus 1 professor she constantly makes mistakes and is hard to understand at times. The lectures usually consist of her throwing theorems at you and then doing a couple examples. I had taken AP Calculus before this so I had no trouble getting an A in the class.
Dr. Chadha tries hard but she just is not a good professor but okay for math 104. I'm not sure about others, but I took this class because I was required to take just this one math class. Since I don't like math and didn't want to try, she was great. She made a lot of mistakes and got corrected by the class a lot. But the class was quite easy.
A lot of it is teaching yourself. She wasn't very helpful in answering questions.
She can be kind of hard to understand. The worksheets and tests are fairly easy but she doesn't really teach. If you don't already know most of what you're supposed to learn from the class you'll have problems.
Her worksheets and tests are simple and she is very helpful if you have questions. She is good at teaching new material. I had never been taught a lot of the subject matter she taught and I didn't have a problem learning the new curriculum because she made it very easy to understand. If you can't get past her Indian accent, that's shallow.
She seems nice in class but she is rude when you try to talk to her out of class. She screws up the grading constantly on the tests and worksheets so fight for points. Tests are exactly what is on the worksheets so do those.
Not too bad of a class and I did horrible in High School Math. Group worksheets and decent tests, you get a note card on the final.
Veena is a nice lady. Sometimes it can be hard to understand her accent but she is very helpful. This was the first math class in which I got a 100% on a test :)
In my opinion, she is very overqualified to teach a low level math class. She oftentimes goes way too far into depth on problems and ends up confusing everyone. Homework was not mandatory and quizzes and tests are easy. If you learn best by examples, this teacher is perfect for you.
She's very hard to understand and makes mistakes quite frequently in class. I think the only way I have an "A" is because the worksheets we get to do in groups with however many people you want and the tests are usually almost the same as those worksheets. The textbook homework is never graded and attendance isn't a big deal. You'll do fine!
Explains math concepts in a very abstract way and makes calculus concepts way more confusing than they should be. Also makes plenty of math and algebra mistakes while demonstrating how to solve Calculus problems. I would not recommend this professor.
I had the joy of taking her class over the summer ONLINE. She is extremely unhelpful and even 2 weeks into the class, she still has due dates from last semester posted. If you have a question, it takes 2 or three emails to get something even resembling an answer. How this lady is qualified to host an online class is beyond me. DO NOT TAKE!
Very easy class! You have a lot of group work and homework is not graded. Tests are same as worksheets. Easy grader! The only problem is that she often makes mistakes on her own problems and confuses the entire class. Learn better from the book!
Professor Chadha is an alright professor. You have a lot of group worksheets which are extremely easy. The tests are alright. The final was nothing like the review she gave us and she didn't even show up. I am horrible at math, but this class was just alright. Nothing great, but nothing terrible.
This professor is very hard to understand, she generally makes mistakes in her examples and doesn't catch them until a student points them out. I have a hard time since she goes so fast with her examples in class, I find my self barley having enough time to copy down what she did before she's into the next problem.
She can be difficult to understand at times, but she gives great examples and writes everything down for you. Tests and worksheets are easy enough, but messing up one problem can get a lot of points taken off. One problem once cost me an entire letter grade on a test.
Dr. Chadha was alright. Some of her lessons were clear most were not. Luckily the textbook helped clarify.
She's from India, so if you have problems with accents, don't take her. We do group worksheets which helped all of are grades. She also grades on a large curve, which definetly helps. She's not the best professor I've had, but I actually liked her method of teaching sometimes.
She is so hard to understand and even harder to follow. She makes mistakes and misteaches us all the time. We have to correct at least 1-2 per class because she did something incorrect. She teaches diferently than the math lab would teach so it doesn't allow any extra help from the math lab. She "teaches different not the book" so hard to follow.
This class, although I didn't like math, was one of my favorites! Her accent was difficult to understand the first couple weeks of class, but after that she was easy to understand. She curved things and if you needed help she was always willing to talk you through problems.
