She's a great & knowledgeable professor. You want to come to her lectures. She tells them in a story format, which makes it interesting. U have to take a LOT of notes. Her exams are both notes + text; MC & essays (she gives topics upfront).

great prof. easy, knows her stuff, but her TA cant grade the tests, u have to reviews each one, and then the whole class gets their new grade like 7 points higher. very interesting class, highly recommend, shes funny also.

Interesting class but dont take in the morning. Her tests are very complicated if u dont read 16 chapters. But its mostly on her notes, check your test over because either her or her assistant WILL MAKE MISTAKES. otherwise a very good teacher

excellent teacher, wants students to understand the deeper meanings in history...tests are difficult, double check, makes mistakes in grading often! hard to pass tests if you miss class, its all about the lectures.

Very nice professor. Helpful, concise, always try to make history interesting for us. Her vocabulary is very rich, that's why some people think she misuses the language, but that's NOT true at all. Her exams are pretty fair. Highly recommended!!!

Great professor. Gives very interesting lectures and has a rich vocabulary. Pretty funny at times too. Tests are a bit tricky, but as long as you take good notes and read the text, there shouldn't be a problem. Recommended.

Oldenburg really knows her stuff. For serious students I completely reccomend her. Although she diverges a lot and is a bit forgetful, she is full of interesting information and loves her line of work. Assigns a lot of reading, about 200 pgs per week.

Brilliant analysis, difficult readings, very clear and funny lectures. Have to read about 100 difficult pages a week. But I learnt a lot.

you really do not need to open your textbook to do well on her tests. make sure you take good notes though because the tests are all based on lectures

Textbook not needed for good grade. She leans slightly towards the communist side. She skips over a great deal of important events in history but is an average teacher.

She's so cool. What is awesome about this class is that she is a VERY interesting lady and she loves what she teaches. She speaks in a very interesting way and she really does make you remember certain events. She's not big on dates which is a plus. Her lectures cover topics in more depth.

easy exams, must take complete notes in class and you'll do well. she can flounder from extremes as one day she is too easy on student's dicipline issues and others days really stern. overall a great professor to take i recommend her highly

Great Professor. Very accessible. Exams were easy but you must take lots of notes. Assigns loads of reading. Could get off the tangent quite a bit. Doesn't follow the syllabus but keeps you abreast of what's expected. Will work with you if you fall behind.

Overall good teacher knows her stuff. Gives plenty of hand outs and does reviews for the test. Not really necessary to get the book just pay good attention in class, take lots ofnotes and definitely read the hand outs. Overall good professor and wants everyone in her class to do good.

Dont listen all this brag.She is a cool teacher gives a lot of interesting opinions and information. Take notes and ull be fine. It is easy to cheat on her test:)

Very EASY, I got A, Her test are an joke, i wish all the professors are like her... She basically gives away the answers to the test during the reviews. Kinda of messy, and confuse. but good. I wish i have more professor like her.....

It is like listening to a story when she does her lectures, kind of like the history channel. And since she tells it like a story it is a lot easier to remember all the facts. Very nice teacher very informative, she knows what she is talking about.

Really easy, she covered very little material. Most of her lectures were more like stories so you could pay attention pretty easily. Gives extra points on almost every test.

She is BORING but tries her best 2 make it int. her tests are HARD!! u hav 2 pick the wrong answer!!! it includes qs from notes n txt. You have to be well prepared 4 her tests cuz she asks VERY specific details. if possible choose another prof if you want an A. However, its very easy to get a B+ for this class but for A be prepared 2 wrk hard!!

Take her.She is the most easy professor in Baruch. Easy A and 6 test (MCQ) and best 5 would be count.

Well, she is fine. have possibility to get A, but have to work hard. she actually tries to teach students everything she knows, but just not well organized nor clear. 6 quizs, drop the lowest, 5 points for extra credit (paper about a film she shows in class) 2% for attendence

EAASSSY A! I got an A for this class. It was not hard at all. She is great lecturer. Really tries to teach everything. Take good notes, and you should be fine. She gives 6 quizzes, drops the lowest grade, and gives you 5 points for extra credit.

6 quizzes and counts the best 5. Takes 5-point extra credit paper which on average receives a grade of 3. Her knowledge is great but lacks organization. Materials on quizzes directly come from lectures and texts so do your work. Quizzes are easy. No concepts are applicated and its "TRUE and FALSE" format. I pulled off an A even without extra credit

awesome, awesome professor. makes the entire lecture into a story, with india thrown in for good measure. pay attention, take good notes and you're guaranteed to do well. i looked at the textbook maybe twice, didn't really use it. has a great sense of humor.

getting a good grade is like flipping a coin. did get a good grade but i was expecting a little more. she like to make jokes at students. overall i liked her

Oldenburg is one of the best professors I've ever had! She is demanding, but it is not hard. I never read the book. You only need to listen to her lectures and take notes. She doesn't only talk about dates and names, she tells stories and gives context. With her, history makes sense. You want to learn: don't miss her!!!

Great teacher,if your interested in global history its a great class, easiest A if you pay attention and take notes, no final no midterm just 6 test and she drops the lowest one, test are easy 5 multiple choice and 1 essay test, an extra credit debate out of 5pt which would be added overall to your final grade*if she has it

Very good teacher, easy to earn an A. You just need to take notes, glance over the notes you took and the chapter in the textbook and you should have no trouble. I would recommend taking her class.

she's a sweetheart. she has a good sense of humor and is very intelligent. she likes to focus on India. no final. there was about 6 quizzes, multiple choice. one or two papers (short). her quizzes(tests) were kinda weird. i hated the "true" "false" makeup. made it a bit hard. overall, the class can be very easy. worth taking. just study and read :)

Excellent teacher, knows her stuff and really really nice. The grading is super easy quizes, and she drops the lowest one. Gives you extra credit on the quizzes and in an assignment. The first quiz is a garunteed full score too. She is amazing. If your not retarded and read the book you'll get an A.

She gives you 6 tests and picks the 5 highest. I skipped my "final" (one of the tests) and still manage to get an A. Her lectures aren't as boring as other professors since she added her own things/experiences in there. However her student teacher usually grades the tests and sometimes makes mistakes. so double check.

Very easy class. 6 short quizzes based on lectures & lowest grade is dropped. 1st quiz a guaranteed 100%. Make sure you take a good notes & read the textbook & you'll do fine.

Great professor! Very nice lady, with a sence of humor, very friendly to everybody. I really enjoyed her class, interesting lectures. You need to listen to her lectures, because a lot of material on the test is from class lectures. I defenetly recommend, she's very sweet and interesting person. And it wasn't hard to get a good grade.

This class was an easy A. 6 quizzes, no midterm and no final. Quizzes could be based on lecture notes or textbook, so read both. Quizzes are mulitple choice, had to choose the false answer.She gave extra credit for attending a class b4 Thanksgiving and the last class of the semester. It doesn't hurt she's a bit entertaining too. Loves what she does
