in class he just does alot of activities that have nothing to do with your grade. His essays are worth a significant part of your grade, overall a pretty easy class

His an interesting teacher. A good part of your grade is based on your essay's, wich are realy fun. He gives you interesting subjects to write about and class time is stimulating. If you're into creative writing his a good teacher to take.

Best Teacher i have had at avc so far. He was so funny and made this class very fun. The essays were a large part of the grade but the topics were fun and i enjoyed them. Very enthusiastic about the class...entertaining and funny. One of the best english 101 classes and teacher. Basically, the class consists of writing essays (well..of course), writing journals and sharing them with the class, many classes discussions, some clips, and quizzes based on reading assignments! Overall, really good teacher.

This man (Prof. Vejae Jennings)is truly gifted when it comes to language! Contrary to other comments, I believe he grades fair, if not softer than he should-especially compared to others teaching 101 that NEVER give A's. He is HOT and talented and may not be teaching for long. I highly recommend you take his class while you can!

Best teacher for english 99. It was my 3rd time taking eng 99 and finally i passed. he give u easy topics to write your essay. if you work on ur papers he will help you. but he is to lazy to help you on the work cited page. Jennings is the best teacher his class is not boring is very interesting.

I hate English, but he made me feel very comfortable with it. He grades you more so based on content rather than your grammar. Despite being an early class I always looked forward to it. He's damn funny, charismatic, he will help you out if you need it. Great guy over all and if I had to take any other ENG classes at AVC he would be my prof for it.

I enjoyed this class a lot. This was my 2nd time taking 099 and passed this time. The essay topics were pretty easy to understand. He's pretty reasonable and is very cool with things. The class assignments he assigns also preps you for the essays. You still have to put lots of effort if you want to pass. If you plan on taking 099, take his class.

I am a returning to school 27 year old with a previous Bachelors degree. I had to retake English because it didn't transfer from my other school. The first day in class, he started playing music and I rolled my eyes internally. He is about the same age as me, this can't be real. However, he is a excellent, fair teacher and makes class interesting!

Prof Jennings is the best English Prof I have ever had. 2 out of class essays and 2 in class essays. He grabs your attention the first day of class with a nice and interesting monologue, he starts the class with music to get in the mood and most of the in class assignments are done in group settings. I took him for 099 and 101.

VJ is so laid back! If you want a professor that will take apart your writing and judge it, then don't take VJ. He will make you a better writer, but you have to seek out his judgment and opinions. I took him for intersession ENG 101 and it was SO EASY. The class was a lot of fun, and there were only a couple short papers due.

I took Prof Jennings for the fall. He is the best Eng Prof I ever had. There is no final(:. The midterm is really easy he prepares u for it you will need the greenbook. Its writing on what u read on. No textbook just the norton book used. No hw just classwork really easy.

I took Professor Jennings Fall 2019 and he was amazing! His classes were fun, he always found a way to link things to current events in an understanding matter and grouped us up for discussions. He responds to emails quickly and always gave helpful feedback. I would take him again in a heartbeat!

Jennings is an awesome professor. Class breaks down to weakly discussions and writing assignments. But the assignments make you think and challenge you to incorporate many different writing techniques. Very receptive during class. Feedback on papers was somewhat poor. He is an easy A if you want him to be, but you can learn so much if you try.

Professor Jennings is a wonderful professor and really wants the best for his students. There is a good amount of writing you have to do in his class, but he grades pretty lenient and offers a lot of extra credit, so even if you miss an assignment or do not do as well on an assignment or two, the extra credit cushions your grade. Super nice guy!

I had quite a few obstacles in my personal life arise and he was the ONLY accommodating professor I had. His class made me a better writer. I was EXCITED to write because I felt as though every paper was growth for me. He is so understanding about the pandemic so zoom classes are optional. There are two 5 page essays, and every week you have discussion boards and either a film/reading response due. He also offers extra credit. Do all your work ON TIME and you will pass for sure!

Prof. Jennings is great! There are two papers but you can submit it to him for feedback. Every week, there is a response (video or reading) Mandatory & extra credit discussions every week are always interesting and relatable. Zooms once a week during the posted times and you choose which to go to. Understanding & gives extensions w/ grade reduction

Tons of extra credit! Only 2 papers for the whole year! Lots of short essays like reading responses, but what do you expect for English? Jennings is not a tough grader whatsoever and knows that not everyone is a writer. His classes are always fun and full of interesting conversation. If you need to get this gen ed out of the way then take him!

There's really not many assignments, and he lets you turn things in late. He's easygoing and makes English interesting. Good for students who prefer someone who focuses on contemporary writers more.

Professor jennings is one of the best professors. Very caring and offers a whole letter grade of extra credit. Really tries to help you improve your writing.

Professor Jennings is an excellent man he could have failed me but he gave me a chance to redeem myself & I really appreciate that he has discussion boards and quizzes, film and reading responses plus 2 papers he is easy I was thinking I can turn in my paper in late and get full credit but he takes off for that but just email and let him know.

Gives good feedback on papers. There are 2 Papers. Offers a lot of extra credit (really easy to do it no matter what!) Really good professor and very understanding.

Professor Jennings is an awesome professor! He is kind, empathetic, and also teaches about relevant/interesting subjects. I would take his class again. He does not rely heavily on attendance and his class offers a lot of chances to pass.

Professor Jennings is a wonderful teacher that cares about all of his students. He genuinely cares about teaching, reviews any essay you send him, and just wants the best for you. The amount of extra credit you recieve in his class gives you no excuse to not pass, let alone get anything below a B. Although I heard from friends he is harsh at times.

Notably very passionate for English. Excellent energy and able to engage well with students. Not a tense environment, and he is quite funny. Great feedback on essays, with an overall very comforting environment to look forward to. Reading responses, discussions, and papers are your main workload. Get used to MLA, you will need it. Would recommend

Professor Jennings was the best!!! It was obvious that he genuinely cared about his students. He gave only 2 papers, both 5 pages. Textbook can be easily found online. I definitely recommend.

Professor Jennings is a really nice teacher. There are a lot of group discussions in class but they are on the readings which prepares you for the reading responses. There are weekly discussions but they are pretty easy and the topics are interesting. There are only two papers with easy topics. There is a lot of extra credit that you can do

I really like Vejea Jennings, You can tell he cares about how much you learn with the class. It feels like it's impossible to fail, he's more than willing to work with you when it comes to possible absences, having difficulty with assignments, etc. wouldn't call his class an easy "A", you're going to have to do the work but it's an amazing class.

I LOVED professor Jennings! Please take this professor. He honestly always helps out and is always willing to accommodate. We had one midterm paper and one final paper and a paper in between but overall they were fun and easy. He doesn't require too much but we also have discussions every class that are with points so make sure to go.

Very open to questions and discussion in class and very helpful.

It was my first semester at AVC and Professor Jennings was amazing! You have to be lazy if you don't get an A in his class because he gives many extra credit opportunities. Only three major papers throughout the semester and weekly homework was based on a book and two paragraphs summarising it.

amazing professor, gives out a lot of extra credit so take highly advantage of that. the assignments are pretty straight forward and easy. this class is an easy A. I definitely recommend taking this class if its your first year.

Professor Jennings is a great teacher. Truly cares for his students and wants them to do well. He offers A LOT of extra credit opportunities, and we had homework due weekly. Very kind, understanding, and easy to talk to. I absolutely enjoyed his class.

I took Engl103. If you wanted to do the bare minimum, you could just do the super easy work he provides and not show up to class at all. BUT, I really do recommend going to his class. He's very collaborative with his students and it really teaches you about the material. Not to mention that he is super casual and easy to approach.

Professor Jennings is an amazing teacher who cares about student success. Lots of extra credit opportunities, straightforward assignments, and weekly discussions. unstuck ai was a huge help for study prep.

I'll make it clear, this man is incredible as a teacher and person. Only a 4 because of 2 months of not grading assignments, but that might have just been a difficult private situation he was dealing with. Gives tons of extra credit as well as feedback. Incredibly lenient and understanding with late work. Very inspirational guy, 100% recommend.

He was so cool one thing I hated was he spent maybe 2 or 3 months without grading but other than that he was so easy and funny i never really went and ended up with a great grade.

I took Jennings for this past summer semester and he was a very understanding, insightful, stand up guy. As long as you're not using AI for discussions and extra credit, he is fair at grading. He offers extra support and help if you need it as well as extra credit.

He gives out so much extra credit. But he is a tough grader on writing. Even if you go for help, its very unlikely you'll get an A or a high B. Even though it was an in person class, a lot of the time he canceled it. When there is class, group discussions, have to talk out loud. Very nice person. Don't use AI, he can smell it.

In my opinion he is a good teacher though he is a tough grader. The highest you get in reading responses are around a C but he does give out a lot of extra credit, so I managed to end with an A. He also lets you know what you can improve on, so the reading responses tend to get easier.

Professor Jennings is a true gem to AVC's English department. Besides being a helpful professor who wants to hear opinions from all of his students, so long as they are conveyed with respect, he is a true poet and will make you want to do further research on the topics you'll discover!
