little eccentric, but she is nice and makes you work hard. Not too tough of a grader because she lets you re-write papers if you don't get it right the first time...keeps you awake!
Fun and nice teacher. She may be unclear about assignments sometimes though. Overall she is a good and easy teacher.
good teacher and great person. very friendly and helpful, and wants to see students succeed.
Prof Case has been a great influence on my college career. She teaches students to think critically, possibly the most valuble skill one could leave college with. Highly recommended.
Annoying as hell, she is so vague about every assignment and super critical on grading papers. Her voice and hand gestures are very irritating. She forces everybody to write in the same style allowing no room for individuality. Also, hard on attendance... DO NOT TAKE
No Comments
do not take!!!! you will regret it
DO NOT TAKE HER. She is horrible; she gets everyone annoyed in class. She dresses like a clown too. She tries to teach us how to give a good speech showing us videos from comedians she is a joke. She is supposed to teach how to be professionals not comedians. She wants the students to be on time in class, but most of the time she is late...
The lady is slightly nuts. She is an "okay" grader. She gives a group grade on presentations instead of individual ones. She is the easiest teacher of all busx teachers and she is not so easy. She breaks up all projects into pieces so it's less overwhelming. If you want to redo something, ask her and she'll let you redo it.
Professor Case rocks. she's a great professor and a really nice lady. can't dress but oh well. Yes, you do have to put some effort into your work but if you know how to write papers you'll be fine. i did the final report the night before it was due. Easy B.
Very entertaining and nice, but tough grader. Every group in my class got 72%s on several papers with no explanations given. She was a lawyer, so she really looks at your logic when you do your TEN page outline. The class is difficult and time-consuming, but it will perfect your presentation skills.
Not easy Class but I didn't know how I got B+ in her class. She is great professor, but she is tough grader. Well, if you really think to take her class, then you would need to write 10 pages outline and other so many activities. She is very helpful. Good Luck if you want to take this professor.
I took Her for Busx 460 Summer session. It was a pretty smooth class just do your work on time, proof read it, start on your portfolio early and be proactive ;-) Attend all classes You will be good She is Nice and Fun :-D
Not a bad class, but really time consuming. You will group meetings, attend events, and work on many very long and tedious assignment. Grades pretty hard. Entertaining personality. The work load is really heavy.
Do not take this class if you don't have a lot of time on your hands. You will have to attend group meetings, CBE events, find a formal suit and so many other things. Not a terrible class but be prepared. Very time consuming.
When you look up anyoing in the dictionary this class should be right beside it.
WORSTTTTTT teacher ever!!! she does not help you at all and she is so annoying. She just gives random grades and does not tell you why she gave it to you. WAY to much work!! she wants you to be miserable as a student. DONT TAKE HER!!
horrible teacher
honestly she is a veryyyy bad teacher! she never gives back your work and is an unfair grader. she NEVER returns emails and does not care about her students.
Case is an interesting professor. She keeps classes interesting for the most part. The clas is A LOT of work. The group project is almost impossible, it includes a lot of out-of-class work. Overall, not a bad professor, just attend class and do the best you can on the assignments.
she is the worst prof i have ever had at towson. she doesnt give any of your work back and is an impossible grader
The class is pretty intense in the amount of work. The key to getting a good grade is having a good group that does their fair share of work. 2 presentations and quite a few long written assignments. Tough grader but class can be entertaining. Definitely buy/borrow a suit or business attire for the presentations. DO NOT MISS ANY CLASSES OR BE LATE. I managed a B in the class.
She will get you badly on spelling/grammer mistakes. If you are super careful, you will be fine. This advice is gold.
She really wants you to spell correctly -- proofread everything. She keeps the class interesting and is helpful if you ask. Alot of work but if you get a good group you should be OK. You need a suit for the presentations.
tough!!!
This class is annoying. The class is a combination of speech, business writing, and busy work. Have to attend CBE events and do group presentations. Case takes forever to give assignments back, loses grades, and will tell you it is rare to get abouve a 90%. By far the biggest waste of time but its a requirement
Case is a tough cookie but i dropped the f-bomb to her face on multiple occasions and still passed...she can dish it out but take it in return! Don't take her in the morning. She's really loud and annoyingly animated.
She's very unclear, loses everything, so unorganized for a so-called lawyer, anoying voice and lisp, she teaches you how to use eating utensils...lots of busy work with group...i miss you Vera!
She is dedinetly crazy....but that makes class interesting! Don't learn much during class time, focus on presentation skills. Definetly a hard grader, sometimes it was hard tp figure out exactly what she wanted in papers, she expected way too much in my opinion.
Tough Love--Lots of energy--if you reciprocate, and ask enough questions you can figure out what the "A" requires you can earn that "A" but, she ain't easy. You gotta bust your Ars to get an "A" but it's worth it. (and yes, in the am you better have alot! of coffee if you wanna keep up with her. Final comment: You get back what you put in...
Great lady! Hard grader but definitely makes the class fun. Class isn't hard as long as you put a little into it. You will learn so much!
Great professor, keeps class interesting. The book is cheap (about $12) Only downside is she has a tough attendance policy. Attendance is mandatory. Every absence takes 3% off your final grade, lateness 1% off your final grade. So if you skip class alot, find another teacher. If you think you'll come to class you'll get a good grade.
she is CRAZIER than the class is hard. mandatory attendance so go to class if you have her! she has class pets and usually they are boys. A LOT of work but if you stay on top of it its not to bad. She does not teach a thing and ALL work is done in groups that she assigns = horrible
As other people have said, ATTENDENCE IS MANDATORY. If you like to skip classes, do not take this. You are put into groups early on in the course, and much of your grade depends on group work. Go to the 'adventure weekend' activity (it makes a big difference in your group). You're required to go to a few events outside of class, pain for commuters
This lady is psycho, he name should be Vera Nut Case, he grading is completely different for each student, according to whom she likes best. She gives low grades at the end of the semester to "even grades out" and does not answer emails/phone calls what so ever. Horrible teacher, I was wondering why so many spots were open in her class.....
She is VERA INSANE. she does not go over deadlines and does tend to like some students over others. ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS as you can when dealing with group presentations. she has a MILLION different guidelines to go by when presenting. She does not follow her syllabus and tends to spring assignments on you last min. TERRIBLE! AVOID HER IF YOU CAN!
Great Professor. She has a lot of engery. Mandatory attendance policy so don't sleep in. You really need to go to Adventure Weekened - saves time through semester and other than getting up early was worth it. Getting a good team is key but she picks them. She gave a few breaks for extra credit but was a tough grader.
I enrolled in 460 and I took her for 301. She is a lot more relaxed for 460 than 301. The work load was really intensed for 301, but the 460 class is a bit more relaxed, but you still have to attend. I don't think she is a bad grader. I wrote a few journals the night of the class and got high C's to B's on them. I would take her.
She is funny but very unclear about assignments. Honestly can say I have not learned anything from this class that i haven't learned in any of my other classes. Her assignments aren't hard, but she gives you little direction to go off of and grades fairly hard. Don't expect to get graded assignmnets back promptly she is VERY unorganized!
Fun class except for the mandatory attendance. Work wasn't hard but there was a lot of it. She lets you redo some assignments but you have to go talk to her. Snow screwed up Adventure Weekend which I heard was good to go to. We had to go to more events which just took up time but she lets you do Bingo.
Overall a fun class. Attendance is mandatory which sucks but she lets you know up front. A lot of work. Something was always due. She will review assignments with you before they are due which really helped my group. A good group is key. Go to Adventure Weekend - it is so worth it.
Very good professor, down to earth. available when you need her. Strict but good. All professors at towson should be like her. unfortunately they are not.
The class was an amazing amount of work. One assignment after the other. Some were useful but it was hard to balance it with all the other classes. She is funny and class was interesting but don't miss cause she is really strict. She is helpful if you ask. A good group is important but you don't get to pick.
The work load is crazy. Assignment after assignment. Mandatory attendance. Tough grader. Big on presentations and group work, which was confusing. I was in 3 different groups that was for the same assignment. Didn't make any sense. But, you will actually learn some stuff
This professor is extremely unhelpful and is constantly changing the format for which she wants assignments submitted. Speaks to the class like we are 5 year olds. Consid this career dev, you would think she would act more prof. WORST TEACHER I HAVE HAD. Unclear, doesn't give direction, too many assign to actually focus and learn anything.
Tough grader. The most work I ever had to put in a class. Grades at the end really helped by final grade. She was fun in class and helped with our group paper but you have to go see her. Don't take this class if you have a busy semester and work. You will never get it done.
Amazing teacher but the class is hard. She makes it very fun and interesting.
Great teacher. Fun in class. She will try to scare you at first to get you to drop. Don't. Helpful with the project but you have to ask. She covered questions that I was asked in an interview. I was prepared and got the job. Attendance is mandatory and work load is a strain. A good group is key.
I think she rated herself in the last few ratings. She's the WORST TEACHER I've ever had at Towson. What I learned in her class: She's a loser looking for higher ground in life, she's a lawyer, her aunt is an ****, she makes her 5 y.o. children read the newspaper, she's from PA, she has no life, she's jealous of pretty girls. DROP HER NOW!!!
She is funny. She makes class interesting. BUT there's a LOT of work, one project after the next. It's not necessarily hard, just VERY time consuming. She will try and scare you at the beginning and make you drop, but don't do it. Just get it over with
Be prepared to do ALOT of work in her class. Also, she doesn't care if you have a job, or any other commitments so don't use that excuse. She does try to intimidate you the first class, but don't listen to her. Don't speak your opinion, or ever disagree with her, and you'll be fine.
I took her class online. After years of online classes she was the most UN-involved professor. She didn't interject or provide clarity on class discussions so we didn't know if we were on track. She grades late, didn't respond to some direct questions and I didn't learn anything from her. A lot of work with little direction and zero feedback.
Class was a lot of work. Something is due almost every week. She is helpful if you see her outside of class. My team met with her and got great feedback. Don't be late for class. I really improved my presentation skills but class discussions about the economy and business were a waste.
Dont attempt any of the assignments without quadruple checking what exactly she wants from you GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS and go over your ideas and papers with her before turning them in..Theres a whole lot of work to do, don't start any of the assignments the night before. She was really nice and helpful outside of class, in class was too vague
The Good: You will learn things in her class applicable to the business world. The Bad: Case doesn't believe in perfection. You will never receive full credit on an assignment. You will bust your butt and put in long hours to receive mediocre grades. Grading-wise she is a horrible professor. Trust my opinion, I made dean's list last semester
Class was OK. She makes your group bring a speaker but that ended up being a big part of the class. The portfolio was a time drain but she tells you exactly what she wants. More fun than 301.
Homework (counted as quizzes) every class (Tues and Thurs),3 exams(online), two projects (simple and to the point), and a final. if your looking for an easy class just to pass in this is not the class but if you actually want to learn she the right professor for you. overall great professor! learned a lot about law from this class!
She is a fun teacher. She tries to scare students at first but don't drop the class. The class is a lot of work but she makes it fun and interesting. She is a tough grader but I learned a lot in the class. Make sure you find a good group for the project.
I am currently taking her class. She gives lots of work. So make sure if you are taking her class to not take any other challenging classes the same semester since her work is time consuming. But besides that point she is the only teacher who this semester who grabs my attention the entire class and I actually believe her class will pay off.
this class is A LOT of work. however, Case is a great teacher. she is very tough and has high standards. if you are wiling to work you will learn a lot from the class. first day will scare you but it gets better. she's got a quirky side so she can be funny. if you're a slacker..forget it. other than that, you'll be fine if you care.
she can be irritating sometimes . Apart from that she is a nice and humble person , I don't understand why she tries to scare people. She is the most smart professor I had at Towson so far. Not an easy grader, but very intelligent. If you want to learn something she is the right person.

Took the class in the spring. I'm giving her a hot rating cause she joked about it in class. Class is a lot of work but worth it. She will try to scare you at first but it cause she wants you to work. Focus is on the real world.
VERY hard GRADER. do not take her unless you want to fail the class.
Finishing the semesters group project. Had a great group and that made it fun. She met with the group before the project was due and really helped focus the project. Lots of work in beginning of semester. Only minor papers left to go. If you want a blow off class - this isn't it. One of the few classes that I couldn't BS my way through.
She's great. I'll be taking her class for 460. She's tough and will make you work for it, but that's college. She'd be a go-to person for a letter of recommendation. If you aren't willing to work have bad attitude she'll hate you and so will everyone else in the class. First day may come off 'scary', she's only being realistic. Don't be a sissy
The amount of work required for this class is crazy, especially, if you're taking 5 classes a semester. She needs to realize her students have a lot going on outside of this class. We are required to take this, thats the only reason we are. Don't expect to be rewarded for your hard work either. Not a life changing class, not worth the stress.
you will learn in this class. I'm no perfect student, usually late, procrastinate, and i'm not the brightest crayon in the box. I got a b- just from working hard and making it known that I care about the class. Good amount of work, nothing to difficult. I can say with complete honesty that I will use what I learned in the workplace this year.
Case's mind is a little out there. She doesn't own a TV, so that speaks for itself. She is extremely confusing. She says read the syllabus, but she will tell you other things are due when they aren't. Basically speaks in a very loud voice the entire class, almost yelling. Don't take her if you don't have to.
Great class
Case Life
Will give extremely low grades on assignments but the class is easy to sit through and interesting. Group project is tough but only if your group isn't good
Good class you learn a lot
really good professor.
She's nice and is very helpful
Can be less than clear at times. However, if you are willing to connect, you will get a clear response. She is very interested in developing bonds with her students. In all honesty, I am thankful for the words of encouragement she has given this semester. There are rarely teachers like this on a campus. Has a great sense of humor too!
Sign. you lose 2% from your grade each time you're absent. Very very tough grader. She expects you to be at a very advance level of writing. She will tell you to use the writing lab, but her and the writing lab are never in sync. Worked my butt off for this class and still probably end up with a C. Group projects are a must and grades awfully.
Hard class but you learn a lot
Very informative class! She makes you work for your grade, and the class has a lot of work put into it... but in the end its all worth it! She tries to scare you the first few classes, but be confident and stick with it and do your best and she will give you the grade you deserve! Overall great prof.
class is a lot of work but you learn a lot. Can be unclear at times and she grades kind of tough, she's more lenient than she says though.
I love Professor Case. There is no denying that she pushed us to work this semester, but I feel like I have learned more in this class than in any other class in college. She was also more than willing to meet with me to discuss how to improve my work. I am taking her again for BUSX 460.
Cornerstone is a lot of work no matter what professor you have. She is a good teacher and wants you to be successful in life. She has a good sense of humor. One cheap textbook that you are finished with in the first few weeks of class.
If you want to improve your writing skills, please take this professor. She actually takes the time to help you get through this course.
recommend this class to all majors . it was a relevant and resourceful class used to enhance communication skills. however if writing isn't your forte then you may have some difficulties.
Hilarious!!
Great professor. Cares about her students. Makes the class fun. Would def recommend
She's hilarious and smoking hot too (I know you are reading this Professor Case... Give me an A). Class is a lot of busy work and overall it is kind of worthless. However, Professor Case's lectures are interesting and makes the class more bearable.
For a business professionalism class, there are a couple things she did that were the farthest thing from professional. I can remember she brought up some off topic debate during one class that I simply stood up and left because I don't pay to talk politics in business classes. I learned more than I usually would from a class though. Shes fair.
I had Vera both as a teacher and a classmate! She is kind in both situations and I found her to be a great teacher. Despite the difficulty of the class, she does a good job of engaging the class & ensuring that students can stay up to pace.
excellent!!
Her brain is what makes her hot. She's sharp, sarcastic, and cares about your success. If you're looking for an easy out, take someone else. Do yourself a favor before you get thrown into the real world and take her. She will give you insider tips on jobs and money that allow of professor gloss over.
If you plan on having a life outside of this BUSX 301, do not take her.
Had Case for 301 and 460. You wont get away with easy BUSX classes, so just take her. Shes great to look at while she piles you with assignments. Overall, a good teacher. Funny, but strict. Take her serious from day 1
What is wrong with her? The rudest professor I have met in Towson. Don't take her if you don't have to.
I was hesitant on taking this course with Professor Case due to things I had heard from classmates in prior semesters. After having professor Case for this course I can say I'm glad I did. She is entertaining, and very engaging. She is relatable and down to earth, and uses a lot of witty jokes. I think she is a fine professor for 460.
Professor Case is a tough grader, sometimes I kinda felt like she was picking on me lol. She is a super fast grader (which I like)!
Lol Professor Case is hilarious. The class is not easy. None of the Busx 301 classes are. Her directions are unclear. She doesn't check her email. There is a grammar test the first day. You take the same test again later in the semester. Choose a good group. If you laugh at her jokes. She'll like you. Do the mindtaps. I got a C+ and tried.
Not the easiest class with any professor. But this woman is hilarious and will keep you awake after being after your internship all day. Was a 6-9:30 class but always left at 8pm
Prof Case was the funniest professor I have had at Towson. I actually enjoyed going to class. There is a good amount of work, but it's nothing compared to 301. Put in a few hours a week to focus on this class and you'll be set. Read Covey's "7 Habits for Teens" instead of the regular version. Same concepts but much more relatable/shorter to read
Professor Case is a great professor... She is a tough grader and gives a lot of work but the class is fun and interesting with her! Expect weekly homework assignments online, multiple presentations, and a group project/presentation. There were no in class exams. Class is time consuming but Professor Case is easy on the eyes making it breeze by!
Good professor. If you want a good grade just do your work.
Homework online. Exams online with writing portion in class. 2 projects. Takes attendance.
This professor is great but harsh. Class is largely based on presentations.
She is tough man. But there is a method to her madness. This class itself is hard material but i think she made this class the easiest that it could get. Don't be fooled. She may seem intimidating and mean but she is really nice and hilarious. Do the presentations, group work, memos and attend class. Put in the effort and you will pass!
Kinda crazy but has a method to her madness. I liked her class a lot, definitely learned new things even though she was irritating at certain points. Don't take her if you're not ready to work.
Oh my god, I've never had so much work to do in a class!! You will constantly be working on a memo or a presentation. She is a really tough grader as well. I personally do not think it is possible to get an A in her class. Take another professor, there are easier ones out there.
Honestly, she was the best professor I have taken while at Towson. Even though she is extremely liberal - and makes it clear throughout the semester - she is insanely intelligent and a solid teacher that cares about the successful outcome of her students. My writing skills improved ten-fold and I also learned a ton of valuable life lessons.
If you're willing to show up, and do the work, you'll do fine.
I actually liked Prof. Case and didn't think she was mean at all. She can be VERY savage at times but I didn't mind her. The class is a lOT OF WORK. Do not take with other hard class. u will constantly be working on a paper, memo or presentation. Make sure you get a good group!!! There's a lot of work and u will suffer if ur group isn't the best.
I like her as a person but not as my professor. It's not an easy class. She will give you decent grades throughout the semester and crush your SOUL in the end. My grade just went down a letter grade 2 weeks before the end of semester.
Professor Vera Case has high expectations. Thus, she is a very tough grader. She thinks students are able to immediately be experts in oral and written communication. These things take time and practice. She will help for the real world's work, but, I don't think the real world has you juggling 5 classes, a full-time job, a family, and friends.
Get a good group. It sucks how big chunks of your grade are based on group work. Doing badly on even just one assignment sets you back so many points. Take Vera Case if you think that other people's performance should reflect on your grade.
Professor Case is difficult, but she ultimately makes you a better writer and presenter. Don't get me wrong, it won't be easy, and you have to put in a lot of work outside of school on papers (we did two 10 pg+ papers) and projects (multiple group projects, pick your group wisely).
Tough, really tough. You will always have something due for this class - it's a huge time commitment. Group choice is so important as many of the assignments are completed within your groups. So many projects that require public speaking. I will say that there are MAJOR takeaways from this class, I really feel like I got a lot out of the class.
May the Force be with you.
Best professor I have ever had. She's tough, fine. Suck it up. You will be a better for it. She's one of the only professors that has actually prepared me for the real world.
You would find yourself constantly doing assignments for this class, therefore if you have a tough schedule do not take this class. At first the class can seem intimidating however if you try your best and you do all your assignments and follow the guidelines youll be fine.
She will ring out your ears with the importance of communication, but will not answer your e-mails or communicate with you unless you magically have the time within her office hours to see her. Clearly favors particular students. Save yourself lots of stress and trouble by picking up a different professor.
She is not everyone's cup of tea, but she tells it how it is. She opened my eyes to how the real busx world is and how you should present yourself in a professional setting. She seems intimidating, but when you sit down and actually have a conversation with her she's very nice. That said you do have put in the effort to pass. Work load is heavy!
Keep in mind she has maybe four or five different sections, Im sure youre burnt out just from syllabus day... not worth your money and headache to be denied entry to your presentation day because you were a minute late due to blockages in towsontown. Whatever your problem is, aint her problem.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She has super unrealistic expectations of students and does not clearly define what she wants. Youll end up doing so much work and still barely pass. She will also kick you out for being even a minute late for a presentation with no consideration. Seriously, dont waste your money. Get another busx com professer
Prof Case means well. beware there are ALOT of assignments, it never stops.
Quite possibly the rudest, most self righteous professor I have ever come in contact with. Incredibly rude when you ask for help and clarification and not at all specific when telling you what her expectations are. I need this class to graduate but she's making it insanely difficult to even hopefully pull a B. Avoid her.
I have to do more work in this class than all my others combine (I'm taking 15 credits btw). She is also a very tough grader and has a snobby attitude. One of my least favorite college professors I've ever had.
horrible teacher, easy grader in the beginning, a lot of work. if you take her, GOOD LUCK!
Worst professor at towson. I am an A student and this teacher is not only the rudest person Ive interacted with, but if you dont do the work exactly how she wants it, you wont do well. She doesnt even tell you how she likes things done until you have gotten a C on the paper. Didnt learn a thing. Avoid at all costs. Worst experience ever.
taking her for business communications just know that she is rude when she gives you criticism. When you present don't be funny or anything or she will give you a bad grade for being yourself. she took points off because of someone's lighting in their house in zoom...... anyways take her at your own risk and a lot of hw nonestop
Prof. Case is the worst teacher that I have ever had, she gives terrible and hard to understand instructions for every assignment, penalizes students for every single "incorrect" and often minor misstep, and gives more work than any other BUSX 301 class. Prof. Case also yells at her students any time they try and ask for clarity on any instruction.
Took her for BUSX460 - internship class. Obscene amount of work, takes the entire 2.5 hr class time, talks wayyyyyyy too much and is not clear in her explanations. I think she means well but gosh worst class
If you are here, that means you enrolled for Prof Case, drop now. She is so horrible I wish RMP gave me more than 300 characters to describe my experience. She assigns work as if you aren't working 40+ hours a week for your internship, a ridiculously tough grader, goes the whole 3 hours and is SO UNCLEAR IN HER ASSIGNMENTS. Worst prof I've ever had
She assigns a lot of work in a short amount of time. When there is not a large project that is due, there are other assignments. Be prepared to spend a lot of time doing work for this class. if you show up and put in the effort, you will find that this class isn't all that bad. lots of public speaking if you are not comfortable start practicing.
She is clearly knowledgeable. Class is largely Socratic discussion oriented
Prof Case is awesome. I had her for legl 335 and the class consisted of mostly discussion and arguments about current events and how they tie into the material.
Don't expect a lot of guidance on assignments & just do your best. The class moves fast & her expectations are all over the place. Expect random assignments/quizzes out of nowhere especially near the end of the semester. There's a good amount of "easy" pts in case you don't do well on the major assignments, but don't rely on them. So stressful
Do not expect this to be an easy class. You will have to ask a lot of questions because she doesn't give a lot of guidance on papers. Definitely use the writing lab for help on those. Tough grader but, She does offer rewrites of the paper for extra points to help you. It was the hardest class I have ever taken but I learned the most from it.
Tough Grader, but gives good feedback. Class has a lot of assignments, but if you do the work and follow the directions your grades will be fine.
Her reputation does proceed her, but I believe her vacation before our class may have made her nicer. She is a very tough grader, and the reading is super boring, but she does give great feedback on how to make professional documents. Other than that the workload is pretty heavy and definitely overwhelming.
Honestly she wasn't even that bad, people are just used to teachers handing everything out on a silver platter. Yes she was a tough grader and yes she gave you no notice for most assignments, but she is always there to give feedback and literally answers all questions. She allowed me to make up 2 assignments worth 100pts. easy class? No.
Just rude and not a good teacher in general.
class is organized but unorganized at the same time. you need to go to class otherwise you won't know how to format the papers or what is due. tough grader for papers and presentations. it can be overwhelming and a lot of work. she's funny not mean
Well well well, if you're reading this, GOODLUCK. This class felt like the hunger games. She's a tough professor who assigns an absurd amount of work. However, if you wish to be successful after college, stay in the class. She'll actually prepare you for the real world unlike other professors. Respect her and she'll respect you
Honestly, she's always cancelling class. Very unresponsive with communications and comes off a bit rude. This is me just being nice about it. This is my second class with her. I took a different one last semester and I've had the same experience. I don't recommend, there's better professors to choose from for the same course.
Rude, not helpful, unresponsive with communication.
Worst Professor I have ever had. All class she talks about her life and does not explain anything about the work that is due. She assigns an absurd amount of work and does not grade according to the rubrics. Very unresponsive and does not like answering questions.
I've heard her class feels like the hunger games and I can confirm that. She isn't only the rudest person on earth, she seems to be proud of it. Also, she'll give u unfair random grades even when u asked her every single detail of the assignment and followed her instructions.Class weight is 4 units so think twice if u really want to bring down ur GPA
Vera Case's class is no walk in the park, but put in the effort and you'll gain invaluable real-world skills. The workload is intense, but Unstuck study's study tools were a lifesaver. Tough grader, but fair - just make sure to stay on top of things.
NEVER take a class with Prof Case. I'm not even sure if you could call it a class, or more like her therapy session. For being a comms prof, she has ALWAYS failed to communicate what's needed for the assignment. Also don't do ur assignments off the rubric, because she created a special one in her head to use instead! Shes also very condescending!
Do NOT take, unless you want to listen to a professors therapy session for an hour. Business comms professor, yet fails to ever communicate assignments/directions. Makes the rubrics in her imagination and alters it throughout class. Also, if you ask a question, she will sound as condescending as possible, literally the rudest person ever.
Going into this class I kind of knew what to expect because of the reviews. If you're reading this and the reviews… the answer is yes. She can be tough and condescending at times. However, Prof Case can be lenient too - like re-doing assignments. Somehow by the grace of God I got an A. Definitely listen/write down her specific criteria for papers!
I will amend my rating now that I am out of this class, and after hearing more about other ppl's BUSX classes it seems that the professors are at the will of a bloated and chaotic list of assignments that make this class a mess no matter who is teaching it. Very kooky teacher, but also endearing in a weird way. Difficult grader, values confidence.
My girl is misunderstood. She's awesome, I don't know why people give her poor ratings. She has me cracking up all class and makes me enjoy taking this course. The course is not too work-heavy, there are only a couple of big assignments, and she's a completely fair grader.
She's an acquired taste. If she only lectured about things we needed to know the class would only be a half hour. She's nice, but she's tough. The rubric and her grading don't exactly match up. But if you put a lot of effort into the class, you'll do fine. I like her, but I can understand why she's not for everybody.
I originally gave her a 3 but I dropped it to a two. She doesn't follow her own rubric and when she's in a bad mood she can be cruel. She is sweet sometimes, but if she's angry it effects the entire class. She can be condescending, but the class is survivable. Work hard.
The workload is manageable. 3 writing assignments along with 3 presentations. I find her quite funny, I have ADHD but I'm genuinely always paying attention to her in class, even when she's talking about nonsense. She goes into depth what she looks for in assignments. My grades accurately reflect the effort I put into the assignment / presentation.
Sometimes I genuinely worry about Case's soundness of mind. Goes on random tangents completely unrelated to class, especially about her ex. Don't take her if you don't work well with dry, sarcastic individuals. Very tough grader, makes up her own grading criteria as we go along. I've never gotten below an A on a paper before but I got Bs and Cs.
You either love her or you hate her as a person. However, she knows her content well and her lectures are easy to understand. Her papers are outlined in incredible detail. She seems scarier than she actually is. I'd take her again because I know I'll learn with her, even if she scares me slightly. Her grading also eases as the semester progresses.
