She is absolutely terrible. The posts about her being helpful are so wrong, it's not even funny. Her English is so bad you can't understand they way she says certain numbers, let alone trying to figure out formulas or equations. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES, EVER. She should be fired.

if u r not to good at math dont take this professor she dont teach. she expects u to now the stuff and she cant speak any english she goes an mile a minute very hard, lots of notes and when its time for the test theres different**** on there that u never even reviewed she sucks

shes horrible! speaks no english what so ever..and grades harshly she will test u on the chapter u so called "learned" and actually gives u a test on the next one that she didnt even go over, she expects you to read ahead the lesson and teach it to yourself. Keep in mind, shes at Suffolk because she got fired from Penn State.

possibly the worst teacher in the world. statistics isn't all that hard, but she made it nearly impossible. her broken english only made the class harder. students were frequently correcting her & she frequently wrote the wrong formulas on the board. don't take this professor if you don't speak fluent tai, have plans of graduating or staying sane.

SHE IS HORRIBLE as a teacher. She cant teach in america for her green card. My class started with 32 people in it, and now its down to me and three other people. the only way to pass is to go to the math laerning center. I recommend you take her ass a professor if you want to be dismissed from college

I took this professor online. It was the worst class I have ever taken in my life. There is way toooooooo much work for one online course as well as all of the additional classes I am taking. Do not take this professor she is mean and does not even speak english correctly. NO partial credit on the show you work tests and they take FOREVER!!!

She CAN'T Communicate, she CAN'T teach. She comes off as unapproachable. She can be sarcastic. Her grading is unfair. She does NOT care if you are trying your hardest. On a possitive note she does have good office hours. Bottom line, She should NOT be teaching. She knows her stuff BUT has NO ability to pass it on to others.

I don't know how she's not the worst reviewed teacher on this site. The only thing I got out of that class was that we had to bring in a math "gerbil"(journal) every day. Don't take her. Ever. Seriously.

Honestly, the worst teacher/professor i have ever seen in my life. She CANNOT teach. If you have her, and your not a genius in math, im telling you right now to drop. She has no understanding on how to teach her students.

If your not good in math, dont take her. If your great in math, dont take her. Everyday the class leaves with blank looks on there face and we are so confusse, are minds are spinning out of control. If you do have her, you will have better luck dropping the class and taking it again or teach yourself the material, cause she doesnt teach us one bit.

She seems to be a nice person, but she can't teach. I took her and the entire class did poorly. And she has no problems giving out "C" "D" and "F". Please don't take her. I have never gotten a "D" in all my school years, and after doing stats 103 with her she gave me a "D" my GPA dropped from 3.8 to 3.5. I would not recommend her to anyoney.

she has a 90% class failure rate. If you think you can fit into that 10%,pass rate, good luck. That was 3 students from my class. She is extremely hard to understand and does not let you withdraw from class due to her poor teaching habits. Have truly never had a worse professor/teacher in my life. My friend and I had very strong backround knowledge, she took what we had, threw it out the window and taught us things that made no sense. DO NOT disregard these ratings, you will not do good unless you already have a degree in math, and even than...good luck

Worst professor ever, I had to withdraw. She does not speak good english, she basically makes you teach yourself, she wont withdraw you after the withdrawal period, and she claims she cant hear well yet heard the lowest of whispers and bugged out. You're not allowed to talk or go to the bathroom either.

This is honestly the worst math class I have ever taken. I have hired a private tutor and am still failing her class. I absolutely do not recommend her as a professor. I plan on going to the dean to complain. She isn't understanding when a student doesn't understand something and is rude when questions are asked

My first class was yesterday. I already hate her. She was rude the second I walked in, and demanded for us to have the book by Monday or she will kick us out. Seems to have no heart, and I'm desperately trying to drop and find another professor:(

She expects you to read the book and understand the material and then she reviews it. What's the point in taking a class if you can learn from a book? She often does a problem the wrong way and makes you do group work. If you take this class, you are doomed to fail. Just be warned you will have to do a lot of self-studying and even then, it's tough

Horrible Professor. Can't understand her, she just runs through the lecture and has no patience when it comes to asking questions, The tests are very hard. She always says if you don't understand come to her office. What's the point in sitting in class for an 1 hour twice a week if 80% of the students have no clue what she taught in the lecture.

Worst teacher Ive ever had. Gets really frustrated when speaking and writing because of her limited English. She grades test inadequately, shell takes a lot of points off if you dont show the work in a way she likes it , even if you get the question right. Theres so many bad things to say, it wouldve been a good class if she wasnt the teacher

In the math class the only time I slightly understand something is when Im teaching myself all the material. The notes she gives do not make sense and I never understand anything she is saying. She assigns homework on future chapters we havent even learned yet. Shell cancel class and then announce there will be a test next class. Dont take her.

If you arent a good math student dont take her class. You have to teach yourself everything, the homework she gives is for future lectures. She makes students feel stupid, when you ask questions she will say if you dont know that your in trouble and continue teaching. She has a thick accent. Only positive is you can bring a cheat sheet to tests.

DO NOT TAKE STATS UNLESS U ARE AMAZING AT MATH!!!!!! I took her for stats 101 which was terrible and she threw in more information then needed. Her tests are insane and it is so hard to understand her. Class started with 30 kids and by the last week of the semester there was 5 remaining. Definitely would not reccomend

If you are not a really good math student please don't bother to take this class. You will fail and she does not care about the students. If you ask a question she will get upset and ignore you. The tests and homework are not what you learned in class. I regret taking her class.

If you get her for Statistics drop our ASAP. She is very rude and gets mad over the littlest. She doesn't explain the topics well at all and expects you to know everything right away. For starters if you cant understand accents do not take this class. She is very confusing, doesnt know how to properly speak or spell English and does not teach well what so ever. Statistics is hard as it is and she just made it even worse. The way she grades is insanity she will literally make one test question 28 points. Do not take this class!

Also, English is her second language so she speaks with a heavy accent and speaks broken English. Ive had plenty of bad teachers in my time but she is the worst by far. She is the only professor who's class I had to withdraw from. She is rude, yells at students for no reason, doesn't answer emails. Her notes make no sense and are very confusing. Puts stuff on tests you didn't learn and takes points off even if answer is correct if she doesn't like the way you do your work. Almost everyone fails her class

If you don't already have amazing math skills and a background of Calc I DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Im usually an A student and this was the worst class/prof i ever experienced. She assumes her students know the material already so doesn't teach it. Pretty hard to understand her accent and handwriting. Take Calc with a diff professor!!!!!!!!

When she gives you the tests, make sure you use the equations she taught gives you, or else you will FAIL. I had a tutor who showed us other ways of getting the same exact answer, but she would still mark the answers wrong because it wasn't her way of getting to it. TDLR; she won't give you credit for an answer you deserved to get points for.

Quite possibly the worst teacher I have had in all of my schooling. Majority of my class had failed every test even though we had correct answers and correct work. She will make you feel stupid and useless. Surprisingly a COLLEGE level professor constantly was asking us how to spell menial words.

Professor Hu is a very difficult professor to work with. She isn't understanding and is not very willing to work with you. I just took my first test and she canceled the class right before the exam, so there was no opportunity to review/ask questions. She never explained exactly what she expected. If Math is not your subject.. RUN.

Do not take class! Horrible is an understatement. Her accent is very thick can not understand her at all. She does not go over things if a student needs help she will say to learn at home. Very frustrating to the point you will want to cry. When you tell her to slow down she slows down for 2 seconds then starts fast again.

Makes it very difficult for you to understand new concepts and will not explain in depth; She has made students feel less than because they're confused on topics she deems to be easy. She will be visibly annoyed if you are having issues understanding an "easy" concept. Makes it very difficult to do well in this class.

decides to give us a final that opens midnight and closes at 11:30 the same day and i have 3 other finals to do also. Took points off of the little things on tests even though the answer was correct but since i didnt do it her way i was wrong. Cant understand her most of the time. Laughed at us when we didnt know we had homework during spring break

Professor Hu is a harsh grader. Her tests are unreasonably difficult. She often gets extremely annoyed at students if they misunderstand something. Her work on the board is usually a mess and illegible. She teaches very fast-paced. There have been instances of severe lack of communication from her. She has shouted at several students, including me.

Let's just say if you're teaching a class of 30 students and only 9 are left by the end fo semester i think that says enough

Vera teaches the class like everybody knows the material and makes you feel stupid when you ask questions. She tells us to go back to pre calculus if we do not understand a subject and claims calculus is very easy. Out of 30 kids in the class half of them dropped by the end of the semester and only a few passed. Do not take if you want to pass.

She seems to think students will automatically know everything about Stats and will zoom through material through fast paced PowerPoints that's hard to keep up with. Her tests have nothing to do with her material. The homework questions provided on "Lumen Ohm" are not on the test. Do not recommend taking her. She doesn't care about her students.

She was literally the worst teacher I think I've ever had. You can hardly understand her and if you get the answer right but don't do it “her way” she gives you a 0 for that question. The professor kind of just speaks at you, not really putting effort in to make sure students understand... well... anything? In class I could tell people were actually struggling when taking the exam.

took mat129 over the summer and the entire class withdrew or failed. it was a mess. professor is not good at teaching and made the class 100x more difficult than necessary. no graphing calc either. huge waste of time and money

The worst teacher i have ever met. She glazes over topics not explaining anything thouroughly. Homeworks and tests often have questions that we never went over how to do in class. She doesnt care if you understand or not, she says it is your fault for not studying enough, even though she is just an awful teacher. Save yourself the pain.
