Ms. K is a wonderful person, very sweet and easy to pass her class however she isn't very easy to understand (with her thick accent)but she's still highly recommended.
I agree, she was very sweet and you can easily pass her class. If you ever need help she is always very happy to help you. One thing I didn't like about that class is that it wasn't challenging enough.
Vera is a very nice teacher. Attendance is recommended but not mandatory for MATH 109 at least. She teaches everything very quickly but is always prepared for her classes ahead of time. You can check your quiz/test schedule online and homework also. The homework is a bit tedious but its only worth 2
AWESOME TEACHER, even though she has an accent but I still love her, she is beauty with brain..i loved going to her classes...really helpful..highly recommended!!!!!!
yeh...shes the TA for my calculus class...and i have to say that she explains things better than my regular teacher....they both have very thick accents...but its understandable...
she isnt that hard to understand about she is still confusing. she even confuses herself. there was a coulpe of times that she couldnt answer people's questions because she confused herself. i would recomment this class if you dont care about actually goin to class & can learn from readin the book.
she tells you whats going to be on test exactly, but her grading of homework is awful, if your good at math take this class, but if you struggle i dont recommend this class because she didnt lecture that well
easy easy easy. took this class with some other prof. so difficult to understand. tellss you what she's going to test on. so easy. great teacher. profs should all be like her. answer please! it gets really boring, but she's really nice so it's hard not to feel guilty falling asleep in her class. give her a try.
Her class is really helpful and easy to pass, you go to class and grab the exam review sheets, you can easily get an A. Take this teacher!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!
I took her Skyline summer class and I was very satisfied with the way she approached teaching Statistics. She made the class easy to understand and always answered students' questions. Although she has a russian accent it doesnt really get in the way of her teaching/clarity. I would HIGHLY recommend this teacher to anyone who needs to take stats.
Very well structured lectures, clear and easy to understand, lots of resources online, good samples of tests. Yes, she has a little accent, but its much better than other teachers with accents. Great attitude to teaching, if she sees students confused or having a hard time with some topic, she will go over it again to ensure everyone can move on.
she is one of the best teachers i've ever had. i got a b+ in business stats! i actually had a chance in getting an A but i forgot to do the last assignment. There was opened book and note midterms and final. i reccomend her 100%!
Our class was really quiet and didn't ask a lot of questions, but when questions did come up, she was very helpful and patient in re-explaining the problems. She's REALLY good at letting you know when tests are coming up and what will be on them. I suggest reviewing the lessons before class so it's easier to understand when she's lecturing.
I LOVE her. She's a great teacher. The way she lectures and write up them on the board is excellent. She covers EVERY important think you need to know. She online-notes are very very helpful, and she is very open to answering questions. She had a thick accent that I couldn't understand, but I got used to it. She's a very good teacher!
shes very nice and helpful. quizes are tough sometimes but it's ok you will get A's on every tests. she is one of nice math teachers i have met. you don't usually see nice math teachers like her. take her class!!
THICK russian accent.THICK. but you can use notes on the test and the quizzes are open book and open note. shes a smart lady and if you are firmiliar with stats you dont really need to go to class.
Difficult to understand material even if you have background knowledge of statistics. Doesn't involve students in her class (ie: ask students questions to see if they understand material). If uu have no interest in math or do not do well in math, take CARP (or get a tutor to help) to understand material in class. Weekly MC quiz, no hwk. hard tests
Exams were super easy. She pulls questions from lecture and practice exams. She gives a couple excel assignments, but if you don't want to do them she just distributes points differently. No homework assignments. Lectures are kinda boring if your not into math, but if you go and take notes class will be a breeze.
This woman has a very thick accent and basically her whole teaching method is writting notes up on the board for you to copy. Not much involvement with her students. Homework isnt manditory and neither is attendance. If I didn't have previous experience with Statistics I would have had trouble in this class...
She is not a bad teacher.. she takes very clear notes on the board and explains things in a well thought out way. She just doesn't have any sort of interaction with the class. From the second she walks in to the second class is over it's all business. Homework isn't manditory and neither is attendance. Overall it's a pretty good class.
this class was rough for me at first and i was failing after the first two test, but i went to her for help and she was so helpful, i got a's and b's on the next three test and overall it became easy. This class ismt difficult if you do the problems in the back of each chapter. I ended up with a B!!!
100% UNrecommended. >=-[ Granted she does carry a pair of elegant hands, but her ultimate downfall is due to the unhinged difficulty of her 11 quizzes and 3 tests, which equal all your points. Another black side to this instructor is her dry, all-business character; the moment she steps in, everything turns into sour ennui. I had to withdraw.
She is very easy as a teacher because she is a push over. The only thing is it is hard to understand what she says.
She is an awesome teacher. I hate math but she makes it easy to understand and there is just no way you can fail her class if you try doing all of her hw assignments and her tests were very simple. She is a very organized woman, she puts up online notes that really helps my learning and she has great notes. This class is for ppl who are bad in math
as long as you do the hw, which you get 2 chances in, you can't fail the class. Go to the class though, miss one and you might get loss bc the infos move pretty fast, but she's a throrough teacher. pretty helpful, bring the hw to her office hrs, ask a few questions, and she might just give you the answers or do it for you
shes really nice and very clear with her lectures. all the slides on ilearn, dont have to go to class if you can figure out math alone. quiz help a lot with the grade, get some frds and do it together to insure correct answers. take her!!
heartless, just bad.
'm ESL & away from high school for 15+ yrs. Got A, you can too. How? Never read textbooks or do HW(no time, though I should have); study her ppt slides & understand it; go to class & take good notes; make sure u ask Qs on iLearn after class; find a body to compare iLearn answers; very helpful for your Qs, great & clear prof., easy for ur learning.
'm ESL & away from high school for 15+ yrs. Got A, you can too. How? Never read textbooks or do HW(no time, though I should have); go to class & take good notes; then study her ppt slides & understand it; make sure u ask Qs on iLearn; find a good student to compare iLearn answers; very helpful for your Qs, great & clear prof., easy for ur learning.
This is a great math professor! I asked her AT LEAST 40+ different questions (via email, or in person) outside of class. She answered each question very well and happily. I barely got a B, but I feel like that was fair. This is a HARD topic by nature; especially if you haven't had any stats previously. No extra cred, and doesn't talk about curve.
If you haven't had stats before, don't start with her. You're not going to learn anything and you're probably going to start walking out of her class after she decides to stop taking attendance. Luckily the homework is online so you can get someone to do it for you. But just take someone else if you can, she really sucks
Klimkovky's class isn't difficult at all, 2 midterms, 1 cumulative final and ilearn quizes on each chapter (she take you best score out of 3 attempts). Class attendance isn't mandatory, but it is helpful if you stay on top the quizes as she's answer quizes then you can retake the quiz!
Pretty easy, but the final is cumulative so don't forget anything! Her accent is strong, but it's still easy to understand her class. It's not mandatory to attend class, but it's recommended if you want to do well on the final. HW is online with 3 attempts, and she gave us 2 out of 3 tests online with 2 attempts. She's really nice too.
She's a pretty cool teacher. Clear with expectations and grades. She give a lot of office hours. Really easy if you pay attention and make the effort! Tests are easy if you've prepared well and attended the classes. Just go over the outlines she posts on ilearn and you'll be good. If you want an easy A attend class, study consistently!
i went to class maybe three times and it didnt hurt me. Stats is hard but all of the homework is online and you get 3 attempts. 2 tests were on line with two attempts and the powerpoints were easy. the final was harder and you get to drop one test. super easy and replys back to emails really fast
I never showed up to class and managed an A- Yeah true story. Everything is online, and it's a waste of buying the book. She has a heavy Russian accent so for the first couple of weeks I couldn't understand anything she said. Unusually lenient and easy, I recommend her if you don't care about Statistics.
Hard to understand. She is nice, but confusing and makes things harder then they should be. If your really smart in math you should be fine, but i'm ehhh and it was sooo confusing.
She's a very sweet woman who explains things pretty well. All notes are online so you generally don't have to attend class except for tests and to turn in certain assignments. Most homework and assignments are all online. She's very good about emailing students back and is easy to reach. From what I've heard, best teacher for this class!!
All of the homework and almost all the tests are online, as are the notes so you NEVER have to attend. Ridiculously easy. First math class I ever got an A in. Sweet, sweet woman & very understanding, but you cannot comprehend a word she says because her accent is so thick. Her outfit choices are always a conversation topic.
Notes, worksheets, homework, most tests are online, hardly went to class and got an A. Keep up with the notes and everything's pretty easy. DONT BUY THE BOOK the ebook is $50 and thats all you'll need.
If you think you know STAT, take her. If you are not, don't. You won't get anything out of the class. She isn't that nice either. Honestly, I don't recommend her. However, it is true that she is very organized as far as the lecture material.
hard to understand. her notes suck. tried to email her several times over the semester. NO RESPONSE AT ALL. NONE!
I never went to class and still did pretty well. Her lecture notes are online and she breaks it down really well. She is hard to understand but her notes are great. She curves a lot and is really accommodating to students like extending deadlines.
This is a great professor. She explains things well and makes DS 212 bearable.
She's a decent teacher. If you show up, take notes, read the iLearn notes, and do all projs/HW, you shouldn't find this class too hard. She curves alot and extends deadlines when she feels the students need it. Her notes are sometimes difficult to understand and she is difficult to understand thru the accent. Theres only 2 tests so u NEED to pass!
Though she has a Russian accent, she gets her material across. She NEVER uses the textbook. Its all on iLearn. You do need to attend lecture to pass, but the material is not too hard and online homework is painless. Very flexible about deadlines. Only two tests, a few Excel "project" (that take 30 minutes), and homework makes up the grade.
I liked her a lot, though her Russian accent is hard to understand sometimes. She's really sweet and tries really hard to make the material understandable.
Pretty easy class. But she doesn't really teach the material well. So get a study buddy. The HW is all online and so are all of her lectures. So don't fret. If you study for the tests and go to office hours for help, you're golden.
NOT TOO DIFFICULT. I WENT TO CLASS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK AND STILL GOT A B+. SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER AND IS REALLY SWEET!
Extremely easy class, online homework and you get 3 trys. 1 midterm and 1 final, very short and pretty easy. i skipped a bunch of class and still managed to pull out a B+ i fully recommend her if your trying to get your MATH 124 credit.
Calculus 2 is a subject I'm not good at. I did horrible on all exams, but did the take home ones and homework. In the end I was able to pass with a C+. Very merciful!
If you've never taken stats before, GOOD LUCK. If I hadn't taken AP stats in high school I would have been sooo lost. She's horrible at explaining things (not just her accent) she goes in such a roundabout way... it's terrible. Easy excel projects. The midterm and final are both SCANTRON tests, 20 and 30 questions, so be sure to study.
I had to take this class in order to transfer, so I wasn't really interested, but it turned out easier than I thought. She has an accent, but you can totally understand what she is saying. Lectures are boring & on iLearn. All hw is online & its easy. The midterm/final has two parts, an in class and take home part. Class was just okay.
This class is so hard! This teacher is horrible at explaining things. I still dont understand what im doing. The final is like 40% of you grade, very difficult. You dont have to go to this class but even of you did it would not help you much. Dont take Stats!!
I had this professor a while back, I thought she was great.Math isnt my greatest subject&snice this was the 1st stat class I got, I often go to her office hours&it helps ALOT.excel was a challenge but simple&hwk, I believe, boost up your grade a lot. She's a great professor, overall just ask for help when needed!
Vera is very knowledgeable in this area and you can tell by how fluent she is with the formulas. She has a thick accent but she is easy to understand. Her explanations are pretty clear if you can keep up with what she is trying to teach. You get one cheatsheet during exams. Things you should have: TI 83+ and laptop with Excel.
Shes an awesome teacher. This is my first year taking stats and i am actually understanding some of the stuff..homework online you can retake it three times excel projects are easy. I recommend her if you want to pass stats with a decent grade
I never went to class, I did all my homework, I paired up with a friend for all projects - and got a B in the class. She's a nice person but somewhat hard to understand sometimes. It's also REAL easy to fall asleep so get some coffee before class!
Vera is a good professor to take Stats from if you're not that psyched about math. Majority of the semester felt pretty easy. Just don't let the online HW catch up to you. Her iLearn links were very helpful and she writes notes VERY clearly. The only thing is that her final is a BITCH!!!
Great teacher to begin with. Very helpful and understanding- a professor that actually cares about her students understanding the material and passing the class. Not easy but not hard- listen well, take notes and pay attention and you will do just fine. If you don't fancy math, you won't enjoy this class, but you will definetly learn. Great teacher
Very thick accent. But I took this class freshman year so I was used to small high school math classes so it was a lot harder with the large amount of students in this class
This class is really boring. Her accent is very thick, which makes her hard to understand. Also the way she explained class concepts made no sense to me at all. I dreaded going to this class. At least she stops taking attendance after the first few classes.
i dread going to this class, she spends a lot of time explaining concepts and not really doing the math, thankfully i have a little stats background and can follow, her thick accent didn't help clarity either, she seems as though she hates her job and doesn't engage with the students, i recommend bringing something to class to keep you awake
awesome class!
IDC what all the other people say, she is an amazing professor. extremely detailed in lectures so if u suck at math, she will break it down so even a middle schooler will understand. lectures may be boring/tedious but b/c she is throughout, attendance not mandatory, hw is on webassign ($40), she allows hw re-makes, 4 MC exams based on lectures
Good teacher. She writes everything on the board. Let's you use a full page of notes (2 sided) on the test, plus a laptop for excel. If you need help she's more than welcome to answer your questions. Only downer, it's SUPER BORING..but it's math what do you expect?
Shes VERY easy. I had a 97 going in the final. Got a C+ on the final and still got my A. 'nuff said!
EASY.Class isnt madatory but it helped to go instead of learning from the book. Midterm and final only.Allow cheat sheet and computer for using excel. All you have to do it pay attention in class and youll be fine. She is super nice if you want have questions. There was three excel projects which was easy since she kinda go over them in class.Got an A
Super easy class. I only attended about 5 sessions and got an A in the class (though I wouldnt recommend doing the same if you totally suck at math). She explains things very well, allows a cheat sheet on tests, you can retry hw probs online up to 5 times, and there are 3 super easy MC tests. I didnt even buy the book!!
Awesome teacher! Jamie Eng sucks!(Don't ever take her) Professor Klimkovsky's teaching style is way better and her study guides will really help prepare for the exams!
Beware that she does have a thick Russian accent, but it's pretty understandable. She only gives one midterm and a final, and assigns 3 Excel projects. DON'T waste your money on the textbook/workbook because we never used it. But buy yourself the Stats Portal (online) because it has all the homework assignments and the ebook there.
Really helpful, she always stays after class to help people and answers questions well. She never takes attendance, but if you don't go there's a good chance you'll be lost. HW is online and easy. Tests are short, and somewhat easy. A very good basic Stats class, no complaints.
She is an amazing teacher. Really clear and makes sure you know the topic fully. Be sure to ask questions because she will go over it until you get it, even if it holds up the whole class
The only really negative thing about her class is that she goes kind of fast through the lecture. You really have to take notes and pay attention. Other than that, her iLearn page is really organized and helpful. The finals aren't that hard. Her accent is kind of funny but she's a really nice lady.
She was a great teacher and very helpful. She'll answer questions if you just raise your hand. Personally the midterms were much easier than expected and the final was alright.
BEST math professor ever! I had her for ISED 160 also and she is a very helpful professor. Her review sessions really help with the exams. Exams are fairly easy too, if you did the review questions, you'll pass. Plus, you can use a cheat sheet. She clearly explains everything (even to the most basic step if you ask).
The class was pretty easy. One midterm, a project, and a final. I hardly went to class. As long as you go to the reviews, then you will be fine.
She's really an awesome teacher! She goes through every step even the basics to make sure you get it. Her iLearn page also has notes on like everything AND she encourages the use of a calculator!
online hw(statsportal) was the biggest pain. She assigned 2 or 3 of them every week. Attendance was by signing your name on a roll sheet. Test were multiple choice(20 questions p/ test) lectures are dull. Take notes and know what you're doing on the hw and you'll be set
Surprisingly one of the best math teacher's I have ever had and math is one of my worst subjects. Though her russian accent can be challenging at times, she explains the concepts with clarity and depth. Very helpful in making sure you understand the material. Attendance is sign in, hw is online, and tests are relatively easy (study-guide based).
Very awesome teacher. Homework once a week online and explains things very clearly
One of the best math professors I've ever had! I took Calculus in HS & struggled a lot so when I found out I had to take this class I was stressed. But she made this class so easy! She's great at explaining the concepts & her HW/Review are similar to exams so it's easy to pass them. Got an A & I was never stressed!
Not bad. There's a little bit of homework, 2 okay midterms, and a pretty easy final. Vera is a great professor that is thorough in her explanations. Her accent is pretty awesome too.
Favorite math teacher in all of my years of being a student. She makes math so easy to understand and I LOATHE math! Her classes are at times long and monotonous so I suggest not taking her 3 hr class! Study the study guides because they're similar questions with different numbers.
Cool accent, very easy hw based online, 2 midterms and a final, she lectures and sometimes gets boring but if you got some fun students that crack jokes, she will joke around too making the class fun and enjoyable and less boring, not the easiest class but passable
I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR! SHe's extremely helpful and really nice. SHe allows a page of notes on the midterm. She gives out extra credit randomly. Just make sure you show up (she gives popquizes when a lot of people leave..but gives the the answers so they're easy). She's super nice. BEST MATH PROFESSOR
I would not recommend taking her class only once a week, as you would usually forget some of the material taught within a week. She's a good teacher, gives extra credit out occasionally to students, very nice teacher. Her accent is not hard to understand. It got very boring occasionally during lecture.
Worst class I have ever taken. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. My tutor could not even make sense of the problems she made us do.
She is very helpful, she will answer all your questions to the best of her ability. She is very nice, and funny. she released us from class early. Her technique was good, and clear to understand. Two test, midterm and final, and allowed one page of notes on each test. Homework and assignments were online work. I would recommend her.
It is a kind of boring class, but she is a very nice, very patient professor and she will take as much time as you need to understand the material. If you go to class she literally gives you the midterm, final, and project. I recommend her
You can tell that she tries very hard, and I applaud her for her teaching abilities. She is very concerned for her student's grades, and applies curves accordingly. I would recommend her for Statistics, but be sure to do well on the HW (StatsPortal). There are no tests, only the midterm and the final, so study hard and be sure to ask questions.
I personally thought she was a really good professor! You don't really need the textbook, just have to buy the online access code to do the homework. As long as you do all the homework and pass the final and midterm with at least a C you'll end up with a really high grade!
I assume this was her first semester teaching DS 212 because all her test have been too long to complete within the 50 minute time period. She does allow a cheat sheet but even then there isn't enough time. I would rather take another professor for this course.
Im horrible at math but lucky for me her class is easy to pass. I just got a tutor to help me with the homework, gives you a month or so to do it and allows extensions. only 3 tests, first one is easy, second is much more difficult so be prepared. nice woman who wants students to understand and will go over things if you ask
She is very nice and helpful, and tries hard to make sure everyone understands what is going on. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I am bad at math and didn't do very well on the exams, but the homework and projects helped my grade. She gives you plenty of time to do the online assignments, so do them.
Ms. Klim is a very good teacher. All you have to do is show up to class, take notes, and ask questions if you don't understand anything. I took her 3 hour class and all we had was online hw and 2 midterms in class and one take home final. She gives study guides similar to the test and she lets you use a 1 page cheat sheet.
Professor K is a good professor for Business Stats and Calc. I took her for Math 110 and DS 212. She offers extra credit that'll boost the grades of students who struggle. She curves the tests as well. i recommend this professor for math at SFSU!
Great instructor she is easy and clear I recommend! The study guides are pretty much identical to the tests and you can use 1 page front and back of notes! Take her I actually like stats now because of her class
Super duper easy class and professor. The tests are very straightfoward. You need to access to webassign to do online homework. She often extends the deadline. You also have practive version of similar question so you can easily find out the answer. Take-home final which is easily to treat (but i don't).
Take notes and ask questions when you are confused, and you'll do fine. The homework is online. She gives out a Study Guide a few days before the test which is similar to the questions on the test, except that all the numbers are changed. If you understand the questions on the study Guide, you'll do fine on the tests. Also allows one page of notes.
I've always been pretty good at math, I'd say a little bit above average. I did have a very difficult time with this class though, mostly understanding the materials. The homework is online, and its moderately difficult. Just pay attention in class, and ask as many questions as you can.
Very nice and taught very thoroughly
She allow one sheet of note during the exam. Attendance is not mandatory and homework are online. If you pay take notes in class. You should be fine.
If you pay attention you'll do fine. I always found myself not paying attention so I often had to teach myself the material, which was fine. When it came to midterms she's very clear on what will be on it, and gives a practice test every time. Lets you have one sheet of notes for tests.
She is very clear in her lectures. I find that if you skip a class, you probably wont understand the material. She gives 2 midterms and 1 final. She allows a sheet of notes during the midtermfinal.
She is a pretty clear teacher, and gives plenty of in class examples. Role is taken for most of the semester. 2 tests, 1 final. Online homework will pile up so keep up with it! The biggest problem I had with this class is that the homework could be very challenging compared to the problems done in class. Overall, pretty easy!
Make friends in the class to sign you in, she takes attendance as part of your grade. Homework was alright (online) was able to do a weeks worth of it a day before its due. She turns the other way during tests and you are able to use your phone(internet) to help you out. (she allows you to use your phone for "calculations")
Profesor Klimkovsky is so nice and sweet! I took this course over the summer, she was super helpful and if you don't get something she won't get frustrated or mad, she is very patient and would go over and over until you get it. Take it from someone who is not good at math & had to take this class twice to pass it. She makes you feel comfortable
She is very clear! if you are not good at math, i totally recommend to take her! You have to work for your grade, but she will make it so clear that you will understand everything she teaches! great professor, take her!
She's very sweet. Easy class. Would help if needed.
Three tests, around 20 multiple choice questions each. She allows a full page of notes on the test, but if you show up to the lecture you wont even need that. The online homework is assigned and not due till the test date. Probably 3-4 hours of work that she allows you to do over two months. Definitely an easy A.
Vera is a champ, she never fails to pull through. She always answers questions clearly and teaches the material well. Class is an easy A as long as you show up, pay attention, and do homework (which is online and due before every test). Although she seemed unaware of it, the lady is pretty funny, too.
Professor Klimkovsky was fairly easy. All you have to do take notes (that were also on iLearn) and do the homework in order to pass her exams. She even let you use a cheat sheet (front and back) during her exams, so you'll only fail if you don't show up/ask questions. The only downfall is that there's 2 exams and a final, so study hard for them!
Has a bit of an accent. Good prof, semi-difficult subject if you didn't take Stats in high school. Try to stay up to date on the HW. Few exams that are about 20 questions each (you can use a cheat sheet). From what I've heard she's the best prof to take for this subject.
Stats is not my thing so I was scared taking this class, but Klimkovsky's tests are extremely easy and come straight from the practice test that I passed with over 100%. There is a lot of online homework but you have weeks to complete so it's not bad. It is an extremely easy A if you keep up with the work. She comes off as mean but she's funny.
I'm not amazing at math, but I found that the biggest learning barrier was her style of teaching. She's not bad- but it was harder to take notes because she jumped around a lot. Her accent is also a bit difficult to understand. Her class is pretty straightforward; do the homework and you'll probably pass. She's also super nice.
Very easy class if you pay attention and take notes. Her accent is kinda heavy but you get used to it. Show up to class or you'll miss a lot of material. She gives 3 tests and online homework, each is 25% of your grade. The tests are based on the practice tests on ilearn and the problems she goes over in class. She also allows a cheat sheet.
Awesome teacher. She never really responded to emails, but she is a great teacher. Everything said below is true. Recommended.
She is a great professor! I took the 3 hr lecture and the majority of the class left after the first half. Slides are online but going to class helps especially if business calc isn't your forte. She's very helpful and will answer any questions thoroughly. Hw plays a huge role in the overall grade-so do it!! There are two tests and then the final.
Math is my absolute worst subject. But, with Vera as my Professor, I so happen was able to pass business calc (which I was dreading since I hate math). I didn't put that much effort, and I managed to get a B. She has a thick Russian accent, but is a pretty funny lady. 2 midterms, 1 final, study guide relates to it all. + cheat sheet!
Vera is one of the best math teachers I have had. She makes the material clear to understand. She is quality!
This class was so easy but I also learned a lot. She makes it easy to understand the concepts, and the tests are straightforward. The homework is online and you have a bunch of chances to submit different answers (I got 100% on every assignment). Towards the end of the course, she offers extra credit on tests, but you probably won't need it.
Never really understood the lectures that much because of her teaching style. Takes an entire 50 minutes to explain one problem. A lot of online homework but you get 5 attempts on every part of the problem. She isn't a horrible professor but I wouldn't take her class again. Tests are easy, just like practice tests. Never really used the textbook.
Okay. She was one of the worst math teachers i've had. Her lectures are too fast, she doesn't explain any concepts, and the tests are NOTHING like the lectures. I only got a good grade in this class because I did every single homework assignment (whether I understood it or not) AND was tutored by my friends who took stats with a different professor
she's easy if you want to slack off then just study really hard for the midterms. but if you really want to learn this is not the teacher. she moves so fast and I've noticed how she does the most to solve problems when there are better ways of doing so. if u get a good grade in the homework and average on the midterms you will pass.
Vera is a nice professor and will help you out if you ask. Her lectures can be a bit fast paced, but don't be shy to ask her to explain it again. The class has 3 tests, 1 final, and online homework based off the chapters. You'll pass if you do all your homework (it's worth half your grade)! Study the practice tests that she posts before the tests.
lecture intensive, if you skip class it is difficult to catch up. Lots of homework that is graded on accuracy rather than effort/completion. teaches at a fast pace, so sit in the front of the lecture if you want to really absorb the material. I studied almost every day for this class so I got an A but it took a lot of time and effort. 3 tests
I say a 3 for difficulty because come on, it's stats. Professor Queenkovsky is such a gem. She's very sweet and while sometimes she may seem to be a little fast paced, if you ask her to explain something, no matter how dumb the question, I kid you not, she will explain it so well and won't leave you hanging. 3 tests worth 20% and theyre curved too!
She is a great instructor but from my point of view and experience, she moves a bit fast. My class was 2 hours and 45 min. but breaks in between like (2)15-25min. breaks. STAY UNTIL CLASS TIL' END because you will miss important stuff. Homework is due Fridays @11:59pm online but must pay subscription, $51 the whole semester. We never use textbook!
I never opened the textbook but I had to buy it for the access code for the online homework. There was weekly homework but it was cool because she gives you five attempts for each question so I always got A's on them. Two tests and one final. You can use one page of notes front and back on the tests. She gives clear lectures. Take her for Stats!
Her class is fine if you work hard. She gives extra credit on each test and you get a page of notes. Her practice test are similar to the tests. Also, each homework assignment gets a two week extension. She tends to not teach about the calculator too much, so I would either look it up or go to her office hour to learn how to use it for the test.
Statistic class is always hard but she will go easy on students and give out extra credit for good grade. Her lectures might be a bit fast, just read textbooks and doing hw and you will be fine. the practice exam is similar to actual exam. she cares a lot about students so don't be shy go to her office hours. would love to take her again.
I had the 3 hr lecture, felt lost because I'm not used to absorbing too much information, especially with math. she takes 2-3 weeks to put quiz grades on ILearn, but will tell you your grade if you ask her about it. quizzes are allowed one sheet of notes. 4 quizzes altogether including final, and offers extra credit questions.
Her class is very straight forward. If you do the online homework and take good notes, you'll do just fine. She is pretty approachable, so don't be afraid to ask questions.
Overall easy class. The first part of the class is basically a review of algebra and the 2nd half is actual calculus. Go to class because she passes out an attendance sheet, but towards the end of the semester she stopped. Attendance is 5%, online homework and 2 tests are worth 20% , and the final is 35%.
I've taken Business Calc two other times with different professors at SFSU and could not pass! Vera was the only one that I was able to understand. 3 tests; last one (final) includes all chapters. Lots of homework but she allows time to get it done. If you see her during office hrs she is willing to help/explain. She's not enthusiastic but oh well!
Horrible
If I hadnt of taken a statistics class before taking Vera's, I would have NO idea whats going on. She assumes her class knows some stats already. Shes terrible at explaining and most of the time I dont bother to show up. When I do, I barely pay attention. Just do the online hw, complete the online practice tests, and you should be able to pass
Class is very easy if you show up to class everyday and take notes. As for every other math class, you need to study on your own time or you will not understand the material. Attendance is also mandatory for part of your grade. It may be hard to understand her at times as she has an accent. Overall, decent teacher but may be difficult to understand
Straight forward class. She just lectured along with the textbook, with homework due every week. She always helped students who had questions. If you have ever taken stats before, or in high school I am positive this will go smoothly. She also gave us multiple extensions if you missed a HW deadline no questions asked. The lectures did get boring.
Her class is definitely an easy A, but she isn't a great teacher. She was always late, and could barely get through her lectures. Also treated us like hs students (someone would zip up their backpack and she would say she still has 5 more mins... we have other classes...)
If you are bad at math do not take her. She is a mess. She grades 3/4 tests. I failed the first two and passed the last two. She does not post grades up so you have to wait till the end of the semester to see what it is. If she offers mentor help please go, that is the only reason I passed. You have to put a lot of work outside of class.
As an older student starting college after a long break, I was skeptical of any Math class let alone calc. Prof. Klimkovsky was hands down the best I could've asked for. Extremely helpful, cares about her students, and kindly walked me through any problem I had throughout the semester. Highly suggest taking her if Calc doesn't come easy for you.
Professor Vera Klimkovsky is the best for DS 110!! She explains really well during office hours and shows many examples during her lectures. She's also super caring when our class turned online this semester, she changed her grading policy to make the class easier to ease some stress off for us. 25% Homework, 75% Exams (25% each) but drops lowest.
Shes so nice, out of all the math professors I had, shes been the best! Shes really nice and offers tons of ways to get better grades! Also, shes really helpful if you have any questions. I loved this professor, looking forward to taking DS 212 with her this upcoming semester. Shes also very understanding!
This is an easy A course, however there are a lot of assignments in this course. There are 5 quizzes, 2 projects, 5 forum discussions, and 5 exams. During class, she would go over things that we were confused on all of our assignments besides the exams. The exams are timed and 1 attempt only. Her practice tests are helpful for passing her exams.
Her lectures were always informative, clear, and well-paced. Although there were several homework assignments, you have 100 attempts for each, so you can guarantee an A. Similarly, you can fully prepare for the five tests with the practice exams. She is very understanding - she even dropped a test altogether! Overall, she is an excellent teacher.
Prof. Klimkovsky is the BEST!!!!!!!!!! she is very understanding and knows how to make class both interesting and fun. She is very outgoing and her lectures are straightforward. She is also very easy to reach out to and ask for help. She prioritizes her students' and she acts like a mom who wants you to learn and have fun in Calculus.
I really enjoyed being in her class, she was a very thorough professor . Pay attention to the lectures, she does go over homework and gives you a lot of chances to do your best. Gives extensions on Homework and also gives makeup tests if you are not satisfied with your grade. Would take again if possible. Easy A
Great teacher & class! Very sweet and understanding, she always gave us extra time on the HW if we asked. She uses Pearson and it's really easy to get 100% on all the assignments b/c it allows unlimited attempts and explanations. Her study guides are the exact problems of the actual tests. In conclusion, put in the effort and you will get an A :)
Stat class was easy to pass. Hw on webassign was easy with unlimited attempts. Projects are slightly difficult but she goes over most steps in class. Easy going class and low pressure. Tests are open book and she lets you take it whenever you want. Attendance is mandatory the first few weeks and after that she doesn't really mind if you skip
Vera is really understanding and nice, she give 5 attempts on each quiz and offers great feedback on assignments. She gives a reasonable amount of work.
I really loved taking her class, She was very detailed about what we were doing and would give you a lot of chances to get a good grade. I really loved her way of teaching and I will be taking another class with her this upcoming semester.
Vera is a good professor and allows you to ask a lot of questions. All her work is online and can easily be studied for. 3 group projects and no midterms.
I was worried about statistics because subject is a barrier in many studies. This class was difficult at first because all the supplemental materials are front loaded at the start of the semester. This class becomes easier the farther you go in and Klimkovsky highly encourages questions, comments, and observations.
Math is not one of my strong suits and I was nervous for this class initially because it seemed difficult and I didn't quite understand. However, through the class I got the hang of it really quickly and the way Professor Klimkovsky teaches is very helpful and reassuring because she encourages questions and I enjoyed this class.
She's so nice and caring! Take her :)
Took her asynch stats class. Very easy. The content itself is hard if you don't like stats, but she makes it easy. You have unlimited retries on homework problems and extensions as well. Tests are exactly like the homework. Office hours are helpful.
Async class. Homework and the content can be hard, but you have unlimited tries until the deadline which can be 2 weeks from when it's posted. You also have automatic extensions if you need it. There are 3 tests and they're exactly like the homework. If you don't like stats but have to take it, this is an easy A.
This class is an easy A if you put in the work. The professor's teaching style can be dry, but the assignments and tests are straightforward if you stay on top of the material. unstuck study was a great supplement for study prep.
Super easy to reach her and she's quick to answer questions you leave on the homework. How the Canvas is organized could be better but everything posted helps you with the hw and exams (open-note). Final exam was IN PERSON on a SATURDAY which sucked for an async class but that might have been due to a lack of classrooms or bad timing.
honestly, this class would've been a lot better if the webassign assignments had been integrated onto the canvas page. we couldn't see our grades on canvas, and ZERO assignments were on the canvas. everything was accessed through cengage (which is fine) but the fact that her slideshows hardly helped me through the assignments. do not recommend.
Professor Klimkovsky taught an amazing class. Really enjoyed her lectures. By far, one of the greatest math professors I've ever had. She outlines her grading criteria clearly. One thing to keep in mind, her assignments are 50% of your grade, just take notes in class, and you'll sail by super smoothly. I'd 100% recommend her!!
