very easy class..open book exams..

she is a very smart teacher,makes the class interesting and fun with her projects and she makes it easy for the student to learn and pass!!! she is cool!!!

EASY!! Allows papers to be resubmitted and is open to late work if need be. The tests are easy (take home) and the in class projects are fun!! I strongly recommend Verga!

Awesome professor. She wants you to learn and to get an A. It's easy as long as you go to class & do the work. Midterm and Final are take home. Essays are easy.

Love this woman. Her accent is so cool and makes you want to keep listening :) If you want an A, take her and NOT Wineland. I love Verga, all tests are take home, open book. She's so nice about papers. She's just the best and the stuff you do in class is so much fun. LOVE HER.

I really enjoyed Dr. Verga's class. Her tests were hard but I walked out of that class knowing something. I have to also commend her because I took this class in the Summer 2011 and it took a lot to cram all the info needed into a shorter time span. Anyone who rated her poorly must have not did their part. She was very fair and even dropped a lab.

She is very approachable if you have any questions regarding the material. The course itself is broken down to a level that the students can comprehend, but if you are not willing to put the work in by studying... don't bother taking her course. The exams are not take home but she does have bonus questions and extra credit assignments. I love her!

Wonderful teacher who loves her job. If you put in the work, which was not hard, you definitely would get a good grade on her tests. Do the study guides and it adds extra points toward your exams. Her labs were also great and a lot of fun. Dr. Verga offers extra credit if you feel you need it. If she taught another science class I would take her.

After reading the comments on this teacher prior to the semester, I was a little concerned going into the class. But she in not nearly as bad as half the comments make her out to be! Actually, she is a really good teacher and makes the material very interesting! She does a few hands on lectures with ropes and beads to help clarify some concepts.

I really enjoyed the class and Dr. Verga! She is very nice and extremly smart. She will grade study guides and add the points to exam grades, which is very helpful because the material is a bit challenging. She gives many chances to bring up your grade. A wonderful teacher who really loves biolgy. I recommend taking her!

Very great teacher and is very helpful to students...drops lowest test score as well...put in the effort and you will do great...overall the class was fun and she is a very understanding lady

Dr.Verga is an excellent professor. I took Bio 1010 and the lab with her. This is not an easy course, but she does a good job of explaining it and gives tools to be successful. She gives a study guide that covers everything that is on the test. I had to carefully prepare the guide and really work the online homework and dig into the text.

Dr. Verga is an amazing professor. She is teaching science courses, which I never expected them to be easy. Any science course you take will be hard but she goes out of her way to help you! I met with her several times in her office and she had no problem explaining things again to me. She even held a study group before our final. She's great!

Dr. Verga Loves to teach and loves seeing her students connecting and learning! It is obvious that she is truly doing what she loves.

Difficult class but the professor really tries to help when you aren't understanding something. College is hard, and not all professors are going to hand you an A on a silver platter. If you want to experience a true biology lab, this is the professor to take.

Very nice professor. Lectures from power-points can be a bit boring at times. Tests are part multiple choice and part short answer. There are also quizzes on every lab from the previous week. Biology is not an easy "A" regardless of which professor you get. If you study hard you can do well.

She really want you to learn the stuff! She is here for you when you need help. She is a really good professor when it comes to Lab. I didn't take her Lecture class but my friends did they said they would take again. I totally agree with them! She is an easy A and you'll actually learn from her!

You'll have to study. She suggests 6 hours minimum outside of class each week. If you've never used Canvas before this class get ready and check it everyday!!! She really makes you earn the grade. The tests will be nothing like the study guides, she wants you to use the knowledge from the study guides with critical thinking to answer test Q's.

She gives off a mean vibe, but after a couple classes, you'll realize she's not as mean as she looks. She offers a lot of extra help. If you get confused in lecture, you will have to read the topics on your own but she goes at a pretty good pace. She jumps around on topics sometimes but overall she knows her stuff and want you to know it too.

First off she is really good teacher. She will help you when you need it. Expect to spend 6 hours + on studying. I slacked off the beginning of the year and wish I hadn't. Lots of homework and do read the chapters! Great thing is she records her lectures so you can listen to something if you missed class or need a refresher. short responses on test

I took BSC 1010 and Microbiology with Dr. Vergas. You have to study hard, but is to be espected, these classes are science classes. She is helpful, when you ask for help. She gives bonus questions on tests, and she always offeres time to student who need extra help prior to test taken. I sugest take her if you are planning to go in medical field

Dr. Verga is a great professor. Before the major exams/difficult exams, she had study sessions which were very helpful. In class, she's very manageable to handle, though can she get quite confusing and sometimes doesn't explain much. Overall, Dr. Verga is great to have if you're a medium-higher end student. Bio isn't an easy subject!! Verga is okay

Not easy! If you go to class and focus on her study guides you will pass. Go to her study session and ask alot of questions. I have never worked harder for an A.

Verga is such a sweet lady personally. Biology is hard and she knows that. She reaches out to help you. She wants you to pass. She gives extra credit points on exams if you pay attention! She gives a lot of homework that is due by every Sunday & the assignments are LONG! Don't take of you aren't willing to work for it!

I was expecting this course to be a lot harder but it's really not. Just go over the quizzes and study guide and make sure to read the chapters thoroughly and you'll be fine. She gives extra credit on the exams which will help your test grade. Passed it with a 95 when I expected to barely pass it with a B.

She grades/responds VERY quickly, and she provides ENDLESS amounts of resources/help. All of her ground lectures are recorded/posted in canvas. She posts a ton of additional links to help,etc. I think she grades very fair if you put the work in - which you will need to, but any science course will be that way. Work assigned is not excessive IMO.

Dr. Verga made a very challenging course manageable for me, a full-time employee and full-time student. She is quick to respond to any and all questions and truly went above and beyond to prepare me for the tests, which are quite difficult. I will be signing up for her courses again and will recommend her to anyone asking for a good professor.

Dr. Verga knows what she is doing. I do have to admit, she is tough; however, if you participate and attend class, you will understand the material. There is a lot of homework. That being said, you have many opportunities to pass. She does not want you to fail. She offers many study sessions as well. I recommend taking BSC 1010L with her as well.

Dr. Verga is passionate about microbiology. She really wants you to learn and understand the subject. Yes it's super complicated and if you don't study you won't pass. Use Mastering Microbiology and you'll pass. I really like her and thought this class was super interesting

Dr. Verga is amazing. She is tough, and there's a lot to study. But she is honestly passionate about science, and she really wants everyone to pass. But if you focus, attend class, and study, you will pass.

Dr. Verga is an excellent & fair professor. You are in college and she is a college professor. Don't expect an easy grade. She will only teach you what you need to know, but EVERYTHING she teaches you, you need to know. You won't pass if you miss class. She gives ample opportunity for a good grade. Recorded lectures and handouts are very helpful.

Professor Verga is definitely a solid choice. It's a tough course, but it's a science course. Spread your study time/homework through the week. She cares about her students and expresses her concern at times if they are not doing well. She is available after class or during office hours. If you do the work and study for tests, you should be fine.

Shes awesome, don't listen to what some students are saying about her.. micro was super simple with her. study the online quiz which the test are going to be the same question you will pass with an A. she is passionate and really make you comfortable. she is always there for you if you need her. Don't go to fort myers bc u scared take it with her

Your level of dedication to learning the concepts is key, she sees your efforts. Excellent course for a solid science foundation. If her brick and mortar classes weren't 2 hours away I would take all her science courses. Read the material +engage in discussion +explore the concepts outside of the classroom in everyday life success.

She is an amazing Professor. I took her online class, and she would hold live conferences weekly for students to ask questions. She grades fairly and is very polite and caring. As long as you do your assignments, and ask questions you should get an A in her class. She works with you to make sure you succeed.

Very polite and caring professor, she wants you to succeed and isn't intentionally trying to make your life miserable. Microbiology isn't easy but if you make this class a priority and keep up with the assignments every week you should be fine. I would recommend reading her test instructions and keeping up with the dates on the syllabus and canvas.

Amazing!! She is there when you have questions and assists with studying through links to great youtube videos to help you understand this tough subject a bit better. Will definitely be taking again!

The online class goes by quickly and there is A LOT of work to do (homework, mini-projects, quizzes), she sets different due dates throughout the week for different parts of each module. ALL of the test are proctored. She does want you to learn, but you really have to be ready to teach yourself. Test are concept application based, not easy.

She is very helpful! The class is very difficult, has a TON of work. There is something due almost every day, the best way to keep up is check the grades for due dates everyday. With it being a blended class it was difficult to get started in the class but I got the hang of it after a few weeks She doesnt put up with ignorance. Over all I liked her

What a wonderful and passionate professor. Mrs V will make you work for your grade but hey, what do you expect at college level. If I was able to get an A, you can do it too. Participation is very important and make sure to finish every homework before the due date. Pathogen assignment was a great idea as well!!

I took this class as an online class and it was really easy. As long as you take your time and do the labs ahead of time, you will be fine. Some of them, you can even do on the day they are due. Overall, the class is easy and the final exam and just composed of what you actually learned in the class. Definitely recommend to take as an online class

Okay hear me out. At first she seems rough around the edges and her course load is BRUTAL compared to other professors. But she really does care about her students. She has a crazy amount of assignments due daily/weekly but I really feel like this prepares you for getting into a competitive medical program. Put the work in & you will see results.

Dr. V is amazing. She is kind and understanding. She holds weekly review sessions on zoom for anyone who has questions. Her study guides and video lectures help too. The workload is a lot but its relatively easy and helps deepen understanding. Definitely my favorite class I have ever taken!

Professor Verga was a joy to learn from. She was clear about her expectations and provided all of the resources needed for students to succeed. The tests were a large portion of the semester grades but studying an hour a day (or less even) was enough to get me a 98% in her class as a final grade. She obviously cares about each of her students.

Lab was pretty fun, she is strict on attendance and PRINTING PAPERS!!!!
