Was a fun teacher. Learned alot, he gave great examples and made learning algebra easy. All test were written, none except final were multiple choice. But this made you very prepared and you knew how to do the work.

Mr. Hart is a wonderful teacher. He is patient and will take time to make sure you understand the material. His style is the best UVSC has to offer. I highly recommend him to anyone who struggles with math. He will give you the best foundation on which to build and SUCCEED!!

Definately the right teacher for the right course. There are very few profs that I would guarantee you would like...he is DEFINATELY the exception!!! Even if you hate math, you will understand the concepts and pass the class...totally willing to work with you and stay after class to answer questions. I wish he taught MATH 1050!!!

Great teacher. He wants you to succeed in his class, but won't give it to you. You have to earn it. Will help you with any question you have and not make you feal dumb about it. I encourage every student that needs a math class of 1010 and below to take his class. To bad he doesn't teach higher math. HE IS WHAT ALL PROFESSOR SHOULD BE LIKE.

If you have a chance to take math from Vern Hart, do so!!! he is very clear in his teaching, very helpful, and also he has a fun sense of humor! Mr. Hart is organized, understanding, helpful, and hands down the best college math teacher I have had so far. He is not an easy teacher but going to class will be time well spent because he covers the material so that it makes sense.

Vern Hart is a great teacher. He's a Jr. High math teacher so he's able to explain college math so that a Jr. High student could understand it and for someone like me, that was really helpful. He cares about your progress and wants to help you pass. He has a great sense of humor, too.

Please take this class if you stuggle with math. I have never had a better teacher! He was so patient, and never made me feel stupid. He is the reason I FINALLY got through math!!!

Mr. Hart is funny and a pretty laid back professor. He allows you to make up assignments and quizes. Homework was 3 assignments per chapter about 20 questions each. good professor i would recomend him over anyone else.

i do not recommend taking math 1000. you're expected to learn 2 years of high school math in ten weeks. kill me. but if you insist on still taking it i highly advise you take it from Vern Hart. he is seriously my math hero. i passed his class and i wish so bad that he taught 1050. i actually enjoyed going to class which is rare. seriously take him!

Very good math teacher. Math is my best subject and he taught me tricks that i've never known that make things so much easier. He is allways happy and telling jokes. Best math teacher i've ever had. Not a bad class, you will have TONS of homework - but it's to be expected from a combo class. His teaching techniques are top notch as he has been doing this for like three decades. I would highly recommend taking this math class from this teacher, he will properly prepare you for Math 1050!

If you have received Vern Hart as your math Prof. then consider yourself VERY lucky. Let's admit math is boring at times, but Prof. Hart Keeps the interest level high even when the lesson for that day is uninteresting. Lessons are always taught until one has a clear understanding, and the overall feeling in the classroom makes you want to come back

This teacher rocks. His examples are very clear and his teaching method is easy to understand. Tests are straight forward and from examples he gives you in class. He does not give out test reviews though.

Mr. Hart is the best math teacher at UVU. I took his 1000 class which is basically taking 2 math classes in a semester. He is easy to understand, fair, and funny. I like math now and feel much better prepared for 150. ATTEND CLASS! He is so helpful with preparing for tests and quizzes. Your bound to be successful if you go and put effort in.

Amazing teacher. Explains things well - makes sure you understand each concept before he moves on. Goes over exactly what will be on your tests so you are prepared. Gives a lot of homework, but more for practice purposes - wish he taught higher level math! Couldn't ask for a better teacher.

I absolutely love his class! He gives you all the homework at the beginning of the semester so you can work on it as fast or as slow as you want before the test. He does a great job at preparing you for the tests. He teaches like we're Junior High students (but with more maturity). He's very fun and very punny. Highly Recommended.

Mr Hart is gifted at teaching math. He also loves telling corny jokes. He just makes class fun. He explains it so well that you don't even need the book. Don't buy the book that UVU says to buy. Mr Hart uses on old text book that I used occasionally but didn't really need to. He hands out copies of the homework every chapter.

He is by far the greatest math professor I've ever had. We had homework every night, but he didn't grade it very harsh. He let us take our quizes home. He was SO fair with grading test and homework. He is so kind and loves getting to know his students. He did everything he could to help on tests and quizes. Go to class and you will pass.

This is the best class I have taken so far at UVU. Mr. Hart is an awesome teacher, really easy to listen to, makes his points completely clear, and teaches in a way the helps students understand. He tells a lot of jokes that may not be very good, but give the class a light mood. My only criticism would be that he goes a little fast sometimes.

Mr Hart is a great teacher! He teaches 8th grade math which helps because he goes into detail with every problem. If you have a question about anything he is more than willing to help you. There's quite a bit of homework but he works with you on most of it. He's very helpful and I would recommend him to anyone who struggles with math! He's AWESOME!

Great at teaching. Very clear. I was very busy during the semester and he understood that. I got a B in my class. I didn't go to it very often and rarely did my homework. If you need some extra help hes ALWAYS willing to help. We take some tests in the testing center and I couldn't finish it in the center and explained why & let me finish later. :)

Explained every concept clearly and set aside 10-15 minutes of class for questions and answers, which was helpful. Tests often used questions from the homework, and incl. extra credit. Lots of homework, but it was easy. Do not get the MyMathLab version of the textbook, he doesn't use it (saves $$$). Expect puns and dad jokes from him during class.

I enjoyed having him as my teacher. He's willing to be flexible to students such as myself that struggle with organization; e.g. being prone to losing things and turning things in late. Not a good thing to struggle with in this type of environment, BTW. Overall a pleasant teacher and not someone with a superiority complex.

I LOVED this professor. He's super fun and silly and will make you laugh, which is important in Math especially if you're like me and you hate it! He explains things super well and if you dont understand it he'll take the time to continue make sure you feel comfortable before you move on! GREAT teacher. Take him right away!

Vern Hart was an amazing professor!! He is beyond willing to stay after class and answer any and all questions. He even gave us his home phone number so we can always have access to communicate with him. We had Q&A at the beginning of every class, which helped a ton! He always got class done early too!

Professor Hart was freaking hilarious. All class he cracks science jokes that help you stay awake. I was in a General Ed class, so he was good at not making it terrible.

He's a great guy, always does his best to keep class entertaining. Would totally take his class again. he is very helpful and very approachable, outside of class, responds to emails as soon as he can, homework is very easy, overall a great class.

I loved this professor! Math is not my best subject, but he thoroughly explains everything and sincerely cares and values each student. He keeps the class entertained with all this dad jokes (honestly one of the best parts of the class). He works with students if they're struggling. The tests are a bit difficult, but he preps you.

Professor Hart is an amazing professor. He made the slides he used for class and so was extremely prepared for class every day. He's both brilliant man, but also a super funny guy. Really knows his stuff and is very good at teaching it. You have to come to class and pay attention/participate to pass, but he always made sure it was worth the time.

Quite literally the funniest professor I've ever had in my life. Amazing teacher overall and just makes it fun. I choose to go to class to be entertained rather than learn the material, but with Vern I get both. You will be doing yourself a favor if you take one of his classes. I honestly wish he could be the professor of all of my classes.

Flippin. Hilarious. A lot of his students end up doing research for him growing and splitting cancer cells. You have Mastering Physics homework - doesn't help for test. Just chegg it and be done. He creates study guides for tests. He curves all tests to average about 83. Don't need to attend class daily, but I loved going and hearing him lecture.

He is very kind and makes you feel welcomed and acknowledged by learning and addressing you by name. He's funny and enthusiastic about the subject. He's understanding, helpful and willing to work with you if there's an issue. Your never in the dark about your grade and he offers lots of extra credit. You cant go wrong with him.

Mr. Hart is by far one of my favorite professors yet. Let me just list all of the PROS: 1. NO MATH LAB - He gives lots of packets to work on instead. 2. He gets that you have a life and other classes. He works with you. 3. HE GETS MATH and teaches it in such a simple way even a kid could understand it. 4. Merciful - if you try to do your best.

Mr. Hart was easily the best math teacher I've ever had. If you have an opportunity to take his class do it! Even if you have to rearrange your schedule its worth it. He knows his stuff, he's really funny, and he genuinely wants everyone to pass. His lectures were very clear and he was always patient and willing to review material.

He is a great funny professor, the class PHSC1000 is not. You'll probably get a good grade, he helps you. Right now the online homework is terrible. You have to do it, but it has nothing to do with class lectures or demonstrations or the test. This is a guinea pig course, so next semester is likely to be different. They try new class strategies.

Dr. Hart makes Physics fun. He goes over most of the material that is present on the take home tests and gives informal (but graded) group quizzes after lessons. He gives awesome demos and has passion for physics. If you can take physics from him, do. You can't go wrong with someone that just wanys you to learn and enjoy Physucs.

This was my third round of physics labs. I learned more in his labs than the other two combined. Just really experience-focused. You attend each lab, do you work, ask him for help and clarification when you get stuck or off track, and keep going. I would most certainly take the Lecture and Lab from him again. For sure. He's down to earth, too!

Dr. Hart really loves his students and Physics. I've never met a professor as passionate about a subject as Dr. Hart and I really miss not being in his class anymore. The tests were challenging, but they are open book/neighbor for the take-home portion. He makes Physics really fun!

He didn't write the labs this year, but he tried his best to help up all understand how physics principles can be applied in real life. Show up, participate, and ask questions. You have nothing to lose when all that matters is learning!

This professor is amazing, even with the sudden transition to online because of Covid. He did experiments in class and used memes. He really loves to teach. He will tell you so and he will show it. If you feel like you might struggle with the math he will help.

Dr. Hart is a great professor, he's caring and accessible outside class. He also makes an effort to help with coding and homework in-class, and God knows I needed a lot of help with the extensive coding we did in the class. He also explains the concepts very clearly, and while he could have been a bit more organized at times it wasn't a huge issue

I adore Dr. Hart! One of my favorite professors. He cares a lot about all of his students and was lenient with assignments if you needed extra time/help. No tests for this class just module quizzes. There is a group project that counts as a final, but if you have a good group you'll be fine. Dr. Hart seems to care more about effort than perfection.

Professor Hart sincerely cares about the success of his students. He'll extend deadlines if students need extra time. He has 2 types of exams, in class (multiple choice exam on canvas, open notes) and at home (can work with other students, open notes). He prioritizes students understanding concepts over getting through content planned for the day.

Super fun and helpful. Very accommodating for late work and replies to emails super quick. Does lots of fun demos and tells stories. The class was more of a physics not astronomy class but still a great. The group projects were a bit of a pain though especially with Microsoft Teams.

Warning this is NOT A CLASS ABOUT STARS. its about physics and planning a trip to mars. I promise. but he's awesome. He let me transfer in late and helped me catch up. The whole year you're working on a group project (final) but as long as you show effort you will pass. although lots of pointless hw assignments, but if you stay consistent its fine.

Dr. Hart is not only very chill, but does lots of very fun dances and demonstrations. It feels like a privilege to attend his lectures. He's also very helpful 1 on 1.

Dr. Hart is an amazing professor! The subject is difficult and he knows it is, but he makes it as easy as he can by letting you work in groups for homework/quizzes and even on exams. He spends a lot of time making sure everyone understands whatever he's teaching and if you don't get it he will help you individually.

Vern was a lot of fun and he truly cares about everyone's success individually. The only issue I had was the amount of coursework. We had about 8 assignments a week. Most weren't too difficult, but it was kind of a lot. He does not accept missing work. Just turn the assignments in on time and you will pass this class.

He is caring, competent, and funny. He is great at teaching, but it is probably impossible to cover as much material without a book. He made the class easier, but I discovered in a subsequent physics class that I didn't learn principles in as much depth in that class as I needed to to understand later cumulative concepts. Follow the Openstax book.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hart. Don't hesitate to sign up for his class. Lectures are always entertaining, he tells great stories. He's excited to teach & makes learning physics easy. Reasonable amount of homework & tests aren't bad at all. Dr. Hart is easygoing, down to earth, very well qualified, & truly cares about his students.

Homework due weekly but you have unlimited attempts (formatted as canvas quiz). Tests are two parts: 1. vocab/concepts on canvas, multiple choice, can use notes. 2. math based, have to show that you can get to the answer he provides but can use ANY form of help. Grade is averaged between these. Very entertaining and makes passing doable.

He was an awesome physics professor. You get graded on a chapter of homework for each section that you can take as many times as you need to get a 10. You have 2 exams and a noncumulative final that you can use your notes on. I wish he was teaching physics 2. Great professor.

I wasn't excited to take physics but dr. Hart teaches in a way that makes the material understandable and exciting. I also love the way his class is set up with unlimited attempts on each hw assignment that really allows you to grasp the concept and learn.

Dr. Hart is one of the BEST professors I have ever had! He was fun, interesting and educational. I recommend you do the weekly coursework and attend each class. When I was struggling I reached out to him. He went over each assignment with me! His tests had multiple choice and take-home portions, you could work with others for the take-home portion.

BEST PROF. AT UVU! Very fun lectures, yet still taught me so much. He understands that we have busy lives and tries to keep course load to a minimum. He values our questions and isn't afraid to go off topic for us. I was a little nervous to take Physics at first, but he made me realize how much I love it! Because of him, I am now a Physics minor :)

Professor Hart is my favorite teacher I've ever taken! He is so funny and makes a difficult class very possible while helping students to learn a lot. He cares about his students and puts loads of effort into his lectures. I got up for 9am class everyday just to make sure I could see it in person. I would absolutely recommend taking his class.

Dr. Hart is super fun! He does dances, demos, and is super helpful when you are stuck. There is a homework assignment and test for each chapter but he will help you if you need it, tests are take home tests so you can use any resources. You work with people in your class and its super easy to get a good grade.

Nuclear physics has been one of my favorite classes so far, and is making me strongly consider pursuing it in graduate school. My one critique is that sometimes he's too tangent-prone. Homie is hilarious and makes you want to re-watch Despicable Me after his Vector lecture! He responds very quickly to emails and questions and gives great feedback during practice problems in-class.

Physics is tough but he makes this class easy to get a good grade as long as you do the assignments. We were only graded on homework and tests. (The tests were all open book including the final). He jumps up on the table and dances and lights things on fire. His classes are crazy fun. The workload is easy to manage. One homework assignment a week and you can redo them as many times as you want. He'll give random small quizes and help you solve them in class. The tests are open note and there isnt a comprehensive final at the end.

This Professor made this class so fun, made the really tough calculus parts make sense he would give us homework that was challenging but always ran through examples of the homework in class so you knew what to do. Tests were so awesome in this class.

It is a faster speed and he is amazing truly. He is willing to work with you. I really feel like if you need a strong base for physics that this is the best professor to have. 100000/10
