Right on...go Vernon! Vernon kicks ass, he is straightforward, funny, and a nice person. Dont expect any free credit though, your gonna have to work hard, but he gets the points across good so its not as difficult as it could be

Tests are tough and you have to know the material.. but he's very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to his subject matter.

He's such a great prof. His stories about India are so interesting and his tests are easy. He really goes out of his way to make sure students understand the material. He lectures a little too quickly, though.

Great class, easy tests. Watch out for his coffee cause he dropped it on someone in my class. very interesting, if you like a prof to stand at the front and lecture don't take his class

Did a great job of teaching what had the potential to be a dull class. Expects LOT of work (reading et al) from students, but very helpful and interesting. Highly recommended.

I really like this class, hes really smart, if a bit challenging. He does tend to cover a lot of ground but overall he's great!

I heard he was leaving the university. I wish that were not true. He's the best, very approachable too.

Very helpful, and gives AWESOME clues for what's gonna be on the tests. Sometimes hard to follow, but he gives plenty of chances for you to get extra help

Awesome prof!!! his midterms and final are easy!!! His lectures are very good... don't miss his classes - he gives you answers for the final and midterms!

Vernon's classes are insightful and he is a great teacher!

He was my guest prof for one lecture; he talked about his Indian ethnography. I found him to be a very clear lecturer. I was dissapointed that my usual prof (Annette McDougal) didn't include more of his lecture on the final exam.

great prof - treats students with a great deal of respect. interesting subject matter - personable, if a little awkward.

Great prof. Notes on the board are a little messy but he explains everything very well. If you're going to take an intro Anthro class, take it from him.

Very knowledgeablr and patient. Is willing to share personal professional experiences with the class. Has the rare ability to blend humour and academics together.

VERN ROCKS! Don't ever hesitate to take a class from him, don't ever hesitate to ask for help,he makes himself available and REALLY cares about his students and their progress.Class notes are be excellent compared to many others. concise & clear.

Vern is my sub for ANTH100, i don't want my other prof to come back!! He is AWESOME!! Great real life examples from his fieldwork in India really help you understand what he's talking about! Vern is definatly a great prof, take any anthro class from him!!

I loved Vernon's class. He's such a genuine, caring and intelligent prof. No wonder he chose the study of people as a a profession, he clearly cares about them. Excellent prof, excellent class. Vern is very knowledgable.

His material is in a logical format and he always has examples! He even writes class outlines on the board. He also has optional classes on how to pass his midterms...Only problem is his tendancy to go into detail and not get it all done in one class.

I dont know about him.. hes kind of weird, and his notes are not good either, so if you just copied what was on the board, ud be so mixed up when studying.. not a heavyworkload tho! so that is great! kind of boring tho..

this is a very easy class, no paper, just midterm & final. he is an excellent prof and very funny, although his notes on the board are very hard to follow and will confuse you. overall great guy and easy workload and super easy class!

Interesting AND easy class! I highly recommend you take an Anthro class from him! He's a bit of a weirdo and has messy writing but if you listen in class, it'll be a good average booster!

Best Prof I've ever! He's the reason why I'm now majoring in anth. He's an amazing man with passion for teaching and it shows in his lectures. It's his last semester this year, and he will be higly missed!

Vern's a funny man, making the class enjoyable and interesting. The final wasn't the easiest, but ya gotta love the give away questions. I really liked the class and would take another from him forsure!

Interesting class. Multiple Choice is easy on the exams but the essays are quite challenging.

Vernon is the nicest prof in the university! He's extremely helpful and really cares about his students. His midterms and finals are easy as long as you do your readings and attend class.

Awesome prof.!!! excellent teaching skills, I learned so much and walked away with an awesome mark and a huge desire to take more anth classes! Fair, but high expectations for essay analysis. Makes the reading requirements seem much more interesting.

Such an easy class. Everything he teaches is on the tests, so take notes, read them once, you'll do just fine. He's a good sht, so we don't bust his chops...too much.

Vern is an awesome prof and is very easy to approach. He will be greatly missed by his students when he leaves. Good luck in the future Vern!!!!

I really enjoyed his class, and the exams were NOT that difficult if you paid attention in class, and he was very clear on what he wanted for final essay. He had some great stories about his fieldwork and his lectures were always informative. I wish I'd taken more of his courses.

Vern was the best prof that I had while doing my undergrad. I'm glad to see that people still think he's great! I have to say, I didn't get great marks in his classes but I kept taking them because I felt that he was the only anth prof that really challenged me. I learned a lot Vern, thanks! :) P.S. I'm kinda sad to see him go. He is an excellent instructor and his classes were interesting. I was hoping to take many more classes from him as he is really challenging and friendly. If you needed help, he was there. Good luck in the future, Vern.

Vern, you are a phenomenal instructor. This was the first and, unfortunately, last class that I took from you. I am sad to see you go. If you continued teaching here in Regina, I would have continued dropping my money in the university. You were great!! Thank you!

Just LOVED his classes. I also took his popular culture in MJ. EXCELLENT. Really sucks you left the school. Personal lived experiences that he shared just added so much, challenging but not outrageous, I really respect this prof.
